    Family bonds were strengthened.

    As the title suggests, the open-air bath and sauna views are simply breathtaking. The bath temperature was perfectly adjusted, which was great. Our family enjoyed long baths and sauna sessions together. Another highlight was the food, which received rave reviews from my family for being delicious and easy to eat. The flavors were just right—not too strong—and dishes like simmered golden-eye snapper were so good that we joked about eating them forever. We also made full use of the complimentary room service (excluding alcohol), indulging as a family in a feast-like experience. The accommodation's theme of "Showa Nostalgia" created a wonderful atmosphere—nostalgic for older generations and fresh for younger ones. We had fun playing pinball and Othello, listening to Showa-era Western music records while toasting with champagne, fully enjoying the ambiance. Oh, we also played quite a bit of table tennis! Overall, it was an incredibly satisfying stay at this accommodation; however, I’ll mention some minor disappointments (though they’re small compared to our overall satisfaction): - Towards the end of dinner, we were served wasabi sushi rolls that were quite large in size; perhaps cutting them into three smaller pieces with some variation in flavor would make them more enjoyable (most of our family left these uneaten as they might not suit everyone’s taste). Other than this dish, everything else was easy to eat and completely finished without leftovers. - Some items on room service were unavailable—specifically roast beef and special ice cream—which we couldn’t try but really wanted to! However, the pudding was absolutely exquisite.

    Deductible Points That Can Be Fixed

    Writing reviews in a deductive manner can lead to listing only the negatives, which might be misleading. So, let's start with the positives: - The newness of the facility. It has a chic and calm atmosphere. - The variety of dishes. You can enjoy elaborate modern gastronomy such as espuma dishes. Soft drinks are complimentary during meals, and I paired them with my meal while sipping oolong tea in between, allowing me to enjoy without getting overly intoxicated for the first time. - The bath. Each room has its own bath with an excellent location overlooking the sea, making it a pleasant experience. - Free-flow drinks and complimentary room service—services that are always appreciated. When listed out like this, there are many positives. In fact, I genuinely felt satisfied staying here. However, we live in an era where cost-effectiveness is often discussed (e.g., "time performance"). Considering this accommodation costs over 100,000 yen per night, expectations naturally rise above IKYU.com's average standard. Now for two points that felt lacking: - Slow service: This might be subjective to each individual’s perception; however, it was noticeably slow in my experience. For instance, their signature complimentary room service took over 30 minutes after calling to request it—and even after following up by phone—it eventually arrived more than an hour later. While waiting excitedly with a glass of beer (from the free minibar) ready to pair with the food from room service—the foam on top gradually disappeared along with my excitement shrinking similarly due to delays... Unfortunately no apologies or explanations were provided by hotel staff regarding delays if such timing happens regularly. - Temperature issues at private open-air baths attached within rooms: Perhaps unlucky coincidence but water temperature turned out too low resembling overseas SPA standards instead! Since guests cannot adjust temperatures themselves under current setup—waiting longer becomes inevitable especially given aforementioned slower response times when requesting assistance fixing things manually afterward resulted opposite extreme being overly hot instead requiring further self-adjustments via cold shower workaround solution ultimately leaving bittersweet impression overall... Service-related aspects remain improvable hence hoping improvements occur moving forward!

    Relaxed by the ocean view and the natural flowing Onsen.

    I have visited Izu many times, but this was my first stay here. The renovated room was clean, and above all, I was soothed by the ocean view, the spacious open-air bath, and the natural flowing Onsen. Although the temperature was slightly on the lower side, it allowed for a relaxing soak. The meals had a wide variety of dishes, all delicious and satisfying to the fullest. I was impressed by the excellent service with complimentary items in the refrigerator and free room service at certain times. This has become one of the hotels I would love to visit again if given another opportunity.

    Spectacular Private Bath with Scenic View

    The room with a private open-air bath and ocean view was stunning. Among all the accommodations I've stayed at, the view from the room's bath was truly breathtaking—probably the best so far. 【Meals】 Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. What stood out most was the complimentary room service. It's rare to find such extensive room service offered for free (just be careful not to overeat before meals). 【Service】 Since it's a newly opened accommodation, some aspects of the service felt slightly inexperienced or unpolished. However, it wasn't unpleasant—more like something that holds promise for improvement in the future. 【Facilities & Amenities】 The towels and bathrobes were soft and luxurious. As for amenities, while they provided thick samue robes for use within the facility, I think having pajamas available as well would have been nice. In this price range, many places offer both as a set. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would love to visit again if given another opportunity!

    Almost everything was excellent, but...

    Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would love to stay again. The bath was outstanding. With a view of the sea, the sound of waves, a panoramic view of the onsen town, and excellent water quality, it was perfect. The food was also wonderful. The attention to detail was impressive, with creative sashimi presentations and incredibly delicious broths and soups. I definitely want to visit again. Since it seems like the accommodation is newly opened, I believe some aspects will improve over time; however, there were a couple of minor points that I found slightly disappointing and would like to mention for future guests' benefit: Regarding bath towels and bathrobes—the fabric felt soft and pleasant but lacked absorbency. This seems like an initial issue that could be resolved after a few washes or water treatments. Addressing this point could enhance guest satisfaction even further during this early stage. Additionally, when we went to the restaurant for breakfast, there wasn’t anyone present initially; we had to look around by going in and out several times. This might also be due to being newly opened—perhaps guests are expected to sit at their dinner seats while waiting? However, there wasn’t any explanation provided about this (or perhaps we missed it). That said, dinner service was excellent so I trust this will be improved soon. Even considering these minor points, it was still a very satisfying accommodation experience overall! Thank you for your hospitality—I’m sure I’ll visit again in the future with hopes for even greater impressions next time! Best wishes moving forward!

    I was soothed by the excellent service.

    From the confirmation call to the station pick-up, check-in, room guidance and explanation, meal timing and details, check-out, and station drop-off, the service was truly exceptional and memorable. Thank you very much. The onsen in the room is cleaned daily with fresh water replaced from a 100-degree source mixed with cold water. On a particularly windy day, I felt the temperature was too low for nighttime use. Upon requesting an adjustment, it was promptly addressed, allowing me to enjoy multiple baths during my stay. Additionally, I had initially reserved dinner at a time coinciding with viewing the Moon Road but was kindly accommodated when I requested to change the reservation time. The meals were prepared with local ingredients and methods that reflected great dedication from the chef; they were deliciously satisfying. Regarding the room itself—being newly renovated—it was clean and well-maintained; however, there were some disappointing aspects: Near the wooden floor area by the entrance of my room, there was an ammonia-like smell which seemed to originate near or from within the toilet area despite no odor inside it directly. To address this issue temporarily during my stay (?), I kept its door open while running its ventilation fan continuously since closing it caused odors again... Also missing slippers specifically designated for restroom-use raised hygiene concerns personally speaking given shared usage otherwise between spaces overall though being solo-traveling meant improvisation sufficed using one pair exclusively instead here ultimately! Two amenities worth considering adding would include socks alongside hair ties/caps respectively because walking barefoot post-onsen felt chilly en route dining areas without them available beforehand unexpectedly leading reliance upon pantyhose alternatives awkwardly inconvenient under circumstances described above similarly applicable toward managing hairstyles better suited practical needs alike ideally future visits planned ahead hopefully improved experiences altogether appreciated suggestions implemented accordingly!

    Looking forward to it!

    The view from the Room was stunning, and the space was very comfortable. The bathtub in the private bath of the Room was particularly large and shallow, making it perfect for relaxing or lying down—an ideal design for someone like me who loves long baths! The meals were beautifully presented with thoughtful arrangements and were absolutely delicious. One area that could use improvement is customer service. I felt that operations were not yet smooth, and the quality of service varied depending on the staff member. However, everyone seemed to be working hard, so I look forward to seeing further improvements in the future.

    Blissful Time

    The open-air bath in the Room was incredibly relaxing. The meals were delicious, and with small portions for each dish, even my elementary school daughter finished everything. The free-flow room service and champagne service in the lounge during the evening were also excellent.

    This was the most wonderful experience among the accommodations I stayed at this year. There were absolutely no points of dissatisfaction, and I had a very comfortable stay. I would love to stay here again.

    Luxurious Views and Exceptional Hospitality

    We stayed as a family. The open-air hot spring bath with natural flowing water, offering luxurious views of Sagami Bay and Izu Oshima, was exceptional. The quality of the spring water was also outstanding. The staff's attentiveness and hospitality were delightful, making this one of the accommodations we would love to visit again. We look forward to staying here again.

    A Reborn Accommodation Produced by Onkochishin

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When choosing a place to stay, we usually check reviews on IKYU.com and YouTube for thorough consideration. This time, with limited information available, we headed there with some nervousness but were overall very satisfied with our stay. Thank you for the thoughtful messages on the dessert plate and photo mount for our anniversary. The standard room was spacious enough to relax comfortably. With full windows facing the ocean, it offered a sense of openness and an endless view of the vast sea. The terrace chair cushions were incredibly comfortable, making it very pleasant to cool off in them after a bath. The private open-air bath in the room had hot water that suited my preference, and its large size allowed me to stretch out my legs comfortably. I lost count of how many times I enjoyed alternating between soaking in the bath and cooling off on the terrace during our stay. Although I initially thought from the room layout that the bathtub was L-shaped, part of it turned out to be a shallow water area about 3 cm deep like a basin. At first slightly disappointed by this feature, I later found it surprisingly useful as sitting there after warming up in hot water provided just enough cooling. The loungewear combined elements of yukata and samue beautifully—very stylish! Additionally, non-alcoholic room service was complimentary until 10:30 PM on arrival day and from 8:00–10:00 AM on departure day—a delightful service! The roast beef was tender and delicious; also noteworthy was their "tea floating bath set," which included cold green tea served in glasses floating inside a cypress bucket—an enjoyable experience I'd highly recommend. Meals featured local ingredients presented beautifully while being delicious overall; however certain dishes could have been even better if served hotter. It seems they’ve taken guest feedback into account as handwritten menus mentioned by other reviews had been replaced with printed ones—a sign of their efforts toward improvement! Soft drinks during meals were free too! During dinner conversations with an Osaka-born sommelier about renovations or other facilities under their brand's philosophy added depth & enjoyment throughout dining hours—it made for memorable moments indeed! On another note though: upon arriving at entrance driving up car initially found no staff present until encountering someone exiting through side door who directed us towards valet parking arrangements (though unclear initially). Similarly regarding complimentary services like detailed instructions within-room guidebook felt somewhat vague—enhanced explanations might help guests appreciate such offerings fully enhancing overall satisfaction further still!

    Disappointing

    I stayed in a Room that used to be the large public bath. I’ve stayed at various Hotels, but I felt it wasn’t worth the price. The location aside, the cheap-looking interior was disappointing. However, the open-air bath in the Room was spacious and had a great sense of openness—excellent! The meals were standard Japanese cuisine, but because the flavors are so classic, the ingredients felt average and the cooking was also average, so nothing stood out. The service also left me disappointed, as there were many moments when I thought, “I wish they would do it this way…”

    Discover the charm of blending tradition and modernity.

    I stayed right after the renewal and found everything new and comfortable. Although there is no large public bath, the private Onsen in the guest room was spacious, offered a stunning ocean view, and provided a highly satisfying experience. The meals featured creative dishes made with plenty of local ingredients, all of which were delicious. However, it seemed that the staff were still getting accustomed to operations. For instance, spoons were not provided for both breakfast and dinner, and there was no explanation about the dishes. Additionally, breakfast included many items that filled up the table to the point where some dishes were hard to reach without standing up. Offering them in sequence might improve this experience. Furthermore, while a menu was provided, it was written in overly elaborate handwriting with small characters that made it difficult to read; more user-friendly adjustments would be appreciated. The quality of room service meals was excellent and surprisingly complimentary—a very generous offering. Overall, despite minor issues likely due to being newly reopened, my stay exceeded expectations with its high level of satisfaction. I look forward to further improvements in the future.
