    The sound of mice

    I usually don't write reviews, but I will write one this time. About three weeks ago, I stayed for one night with my child. The food was very delicious. I think I was able to enjoy the old folk house at the property. However, there was one thing: the sound of mice from the attic continued all night while we were trying to sleep. I was surprised and kept waking up, worried that they might come out from somewhere. I tried to be careful by sealing any leftover food. My child was startled by the continuous noise, but once asleep, they didn't wake up. I reported this to the front desk the next day. They mentioned something about checking once a month, but I was interested in trying out Iga's NIPPONIA as well, so I called the NIPPONIA general contact to inquire if dealing with mice is inevitable in old folk houses. They said they would get back to me, but it's been three weeks now, and nothing has been done. Should I have considered the sound of mice as normal when staying in an old folk house?

    There was a trouble, and although the customer service was pleasant and quick, I couldn't use the time I wanted during that period. I expected some form of compensation, but it ended with just changing the room. I had been working without taking a break since the beginning of this year. I was looking forward to this day. The toilet overflowed, causing a terrible situation. I wanted to take a 20-minute nap before dinner, but I had to wait for tools to fix the clog and other things (I couldn't sleep with the door unlocked). I had a sad meal as it was. Of course, thank you for the bright and wonderful customer service that made me forget about it. The room was changed and became comfortable, but since the price is not reasonable, I asked for something to compensate for the time I wanted to cherish. There was an apology, but nothing else. I mentioned that I was worried about being late for the train with the shuttle service because I had work, but a taxi was called without my consent (I thought it was a service for the inconvenience caused by the overflowing toilet). It cost over 2500 yen to the station. The driver was a very nice person, but I couldn't engage in conversation. The sake lees bath additive for the return trip was wrapped in a net and cost 650 yen. I bought it to give to someone, but it's hard to give. (If there was an explanation of the sake lees, it might have added some value.) In the end, I felt a bit uneasy. Since I also run a business, I thought I might have offered a discount ticket or a drink service during meals. It's the little things that can reset the experience. It was a learning experience. The room was in a place where I could feel the history, and I had a valuable experience. Thank you.

    Not suitable for those who want to spend time quietly?

    I made a reservation to celebrate my parents' 60th birthday. The atmosphere was simply wonderful, with the former residence of a former bank manager (restaurant and front building) built in the early Meiji period and a row house built in the late Edo period! However, as mentioned on the website, the sound really echoes... This time, we stayed in a pet-friendly room, but there was another room on the same premises, and we could hear the cries and running sounds of babies and children all the time, so honestly, we couldn't relax at all. (The front desk staff did warn them, and there are earplugs available, but they weren't very effective...) The room's atmosphere was very lovely, and there was a dog run, so the dog was happily running around. The biscuits and jerky gifts for the dog were placed bare on the plate in the morning, so it would have been nice if they were in a packaging bag to prevent moisture and to check the contents. Also, the dog's cage area was quite dark even with the lights on, and since it's an old building, I understand, but there was a window right above the cage, and when the wind blew even a little, it was noisy, so I think the dog could have relaxed more if it was in a quieter position. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very particular and delicious, and visually enjoyable, so I was very satisfied. There were quite a few stink bugs in the room and entrance, so it might be tough for people who don't like insects. The bath was a system bath, so it would be nice to have more attention to detail and amenities like bath salts. Thank you very much!

    We enjoyed our Multiple Night Stay.

    If you have strong legs, this kind of Stays might be good. However, handrails on the stairs would be helpful for the elderly. The amenities and the variety of drinks in the refrigerator were plentiful and helpful. Although it was charged, the bath additive was very warming and nice. The meals were delicious, and the attentive staff left a strong impression. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I would be delighted to visit again in a different season next time.

    It was a property where you could leisurely enjoy the charm of Tamba Sasayama.

    I stayed at the end of September, aiming for the delicious chestnut season. I have stayed at several NIPPONIA properties before and like the concept of the stays, and I was very satisfied with the Tamba Sasayama property as well. As a dispersed hotel, there are charming accommodation buildings scattered throughout the town, utilizing the original structures, and they blend well with the historical streetscape, allowing me to feel the charm of Tamba Sasayama more closely during my stay. The building I stayed in had an interesting design, with a hearth remaining in the guest room area, providing a unique accommodation experience. The building was somewhat old, and the doors were difficult to open (perhaps depending on the accommodation building), which was a drawback, but I found it charming. Dinner was a beautiful French meal that utilized local ingredients, typical of NIPPONIA, and everything was delicious. I enjoyed local ingredients such as appetizers using Kasumi crab, a rich burdock soup, and grilled Tamba beef. The town was filled with delicious chestnut sweets, and I bought various freshly made chestnut sweets to enjoy with black soybean tea in the guest room. I would like to visit again.     A Good Old Stays

    I had the pleasure of staying in a precious room. The property retains its old charm while being comfortable for modern living, making it irresistible for those who love historical architecture. Therefore, the insulation might be slightly weaker than usual, but I enjoyed reminiscing about the past. The staff's attentiveness is perfect. When I asked for the location of the restroom, they guided me to a visible spot despite being in the middle of a task, and upon my return, they opened the door for me, showing perfect consideration. The free drinks in the refrigerator were plentiful and satisfying. Beer, sparkling wine, red wine, white wine, various juices, and Perrier. The breakfast was just right, and the mountain yam was incredibly delicious. Thank you very much.
