    Dog-first Facility

    This was my first time using this accommodation. We chose a room with an open-air bath in Aqua Terrace since my companion loves baths. The first floor had a living room and terrace, while the second floor had the bedroom. The room was clean and well-maintained. For dogs, there were plenty of amenities such as a cage, toilet sheets, cleaning supplies, and even cushion stairs for climbing onto the sofa—everything was thoughtfully provided. There was a gate at the bottom of the stairs, but it would have been nice to have one on the second floor as well. Also, the water in the open-air bath didn’t fill up at all! The hotel has both day-use and guest-only dog runs with very spacious grounds! I booked without knowing much about the layout of rooms but am glad I didn’t choose Casa Blanca... Aqua Terrace wasn’t too far from both the main front desk and dog run areas we used frequently. For those considering making a reservation here, I recommend checking each room’s location on their official website beforehand. It was hard to find where exactly the main front desk was; clearer signage visible from the road would be helpful. At check-in, we received welcome drink tickets that could be used during our stay at their lounge in the main building—choices included sparkling wine or soft drinks. On our first day, we arrived early for lunch at their restaurant where we enjoyed pizza and pasta—both deliciously filling with excellent service from staff members! For dinner that evening, we reserved seats at their Western-style restaurant after checking its menu online beforehand; however upon arrival found discrepancies between what had been listed online versus served onsite... why? This turned out to be one disappointing aspect of our trip—the course meal’s steak (main dish) felt tough yet oddly cold inside like it hadn’t been cooked properly despite appearing seared quickly over high heat… do they not know how rare meat should actually be prepared? Breakfast next morning followed buffet style allowing guests access even dog-friendly food options freely available—but unfortunately marred somewhat by constant barking nearby disrupting others’ experience including some frightened pets reacting negatively too; perhaps stricter rules requiring overly noisy dogs remain within rooms instead might help alleviate similar issues moving forward—or alternatively relocating affected parties further away towards quieter seating areas closer toward entrances etc., ensuring better overall dining atmosphere shared amongst everyone present alike equally fairly balanced mannered approach ideally suited best interests involved altogether mutually beneficial outcomes achieved successfully implemented accordingly thereafter resolved amicably addressed concerns raised previously noted observations highlighted earlier mentioned points discussed above summarized briefly concisely stated clearly articulated effectively communicated     Delicious Buffet

    As a returning guest, I am very satisfied with the Facility and Room, but I would like to see improvements in the buffet's variety and taste. Especially for dinner, while the salad menu is excellent, the main dishes in the hot section such as meat, fish, and pasta are limited in variety and not very tasty. The cost-performance ratio is poor.

    I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay at the Glamping Villa.

    This was our first time staying at a glamping villa. The dining area was bright, and the table was large and spacious, so even with four people it didn’t feel crowded. We all agreed that we’d like to do a Multiple Night Stay next time. However, the price is comparable to a luxury Hotel in central Tokyo, so we’ll aim for once a year. Our dogs get excited as soon as we get close—they seem to know exactly where they are.

    The dog was very happy!

    We had a very enjoyable stay. The Room was kept clean (although there was a pet odor), and the dog amenities were well stocked. The pizza from the pizzeria was excellent!

    I stay here every year.

    Because it’s close to home, we stay here every year. We reserved the same Room as the year before last. The cleaning was thorough, and we were very satisfied. We used the buffet for both dinner and breakfast. The pork shabu-shabu at dinner was delicious. Given the location, the vegetables at this Accommodation are excellent. The salads are fresh with a wide variety. The dinner buffet offered a good selection and was nicely presented, but I still regret not choosing Higurashi no Sato for Western-style dining instead. It was delicious last year, so next time we’ll have dinner there. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The Most Fun Place for Your Dog

    The entire Facility was thoughtfully designed in many ways for dogs, which was wonderful. The staff were also very courteous. When we ordered a separate meal for our dog, there was a mix-up with the contents, but they handled it carefully and politely. It was only a little disappointing that there were some dusty areas in the Room, but overall we were satisfied.

    Highly Satisfied!

    We visited with a group of six people, including parents, three elementary school children, and two small dogs for a one-night, two-day stay. This place was recommended by a friend as an ideal spot to visit with pets. Upon arrival, we found the Facility to be even better equipped than expected. Both the children and dogs had plenty of space to play freely, while the adults could relax comfortably. The restaurants we used all offered meals for dogs as well, making it an excellent destination for pet owners. We would love to visit again in the future and will recommend this place to our friends. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful time!

    A Paradise for Families with Dogs

    This was our fourth stay at the accommodation. With its spacious grounds featuring multiple dog runs, a splash pool, a swimming pool for humans, and a restaurant where you can dine with your dog, it offers an excellent environment for families with dogs. Our family loves this place so much that even our adult children and teenagers look forward to visiting Doggies Island together. However, compared to previous visits, I felt that the cleaning of guest rooms and lounges was not as thorough. It wasn’t about pet hair but rather ordinary dirt like dust in the corners of the room. While this could be resolved with regular cleaning (even if not daily), it had accumulated quite noticeably this time. For meals, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The selection and variety were excellent and are one of the highlights of staying here for us. Since we chose a dinner-free plan this time, we dined at the pizza restaurant on-site instead. The food was delicious but felt slightly overpriced. We look forward to seeing our dogs happily enjoying themselves again and plan to revisit once it gets cooler!

    Highly Satisfied

    I stayed in the Second Corner Suite, and it was delightful to have a space for napping. I was thrilled that I could bring my beloved dog into all the restaurants and shops. They even had a photo booth! The buffet was delicious, with dishes being replenished promptly, and the staff were very kind. I arrived by train, but if I may suggest, having a few shuttle buses would be wonderful. I definitely want to visit again!

    A true paradise for dogs

    I chose this accommodation as a place where my mother and her beloved dog could stay together to celebrate her special occasion. Her 7-year-old senior dog, who usually doesn't like walking much, was thrilled to run around in the pool and dog park. Since it was a cottage, it was relatively quiet, and the dog hardly barked at any noises, allowing for a peaceful sleep. Thanks to the dog's restful sleep, my elderly mother also slept well. Seeing her happy dog brought joy to my mother too. Despite the intense heat, the dog park had shaded areas, mist sprays, and tents that made it bearable even for those who aren't particularly fond of dogs. The café had limited air-conditioned spaces since part of it is an open terrace area; waiting until check-in was tough due to the heat. However, when we couldn't endure it anymore and rested in the lobby for some cool air, a staff member kindly approached us. They informed us that our room happened to be ready earlier than expected and allowed us to enter before check-in time—this thoughtful gesture left a great impression on us. The air conditioning in our room was already turned on as well. From last year's reviews mentioning long buffet lines during peak Obon season holidays, we were prepared for delays but were pleasantly surprised by how smooth everything went—perhaps because there were two separate dining areas or time-slot reservations in place. There were no long waits or shortages of food at all! While our dog didn't enjoy the buffet meals much herself (as expected), just being able to dine together with her at the restaurant made my mother very happy. My daughter (not particularly fond of dogs) found some strong odors lingering inside our room unpleasant initially but managed by using provided deodorizer spray alongside ventilating through terrace windows throughout our stay. Although cottages seemed slightly dated overall appearance-wise—they still offered plenty enough enjoyment making them worthwhile experiences altogether! Truly paradise-like haven tailored towards pets & their owners alike; highly recommended especially if traveling alongside furry companions!

    Glad I visited!

    This was a place I had always wanted to visit, as it came highly recommended among dog-loving friends. While in Tokyo, hot days made it difficult to go for walks during the day or evening, so we only managed longer walks early in the morning. However, during our stay at this facility, we enjoyed early morning strolls, splashing around in the pool during hot afternoons, and nighttime fun at the night dog run when it cooled down. Our dogs seemed very satisfied with all the activities from morning to night every day. The breakfast buffet also catered to dogs with offerings like carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and goat milk so that we could enjoy meals together. The spacious seating made moving around with a pet cart easy as well. The room amenities were excellent; additional pet sheets were available at the front desk if needed. The room itself was spacious with both a large bed and a daybed while the shower had strong water pressure that felt great. It was such an enjoyable facility that I would love to visit again if given another opportunity!

    For those who wish to relax and unwind with their beloved dog, this is the perfect place!

    There is a reason why we visit every spring, summer, and autumn. While there are many facilities where you can play with your pets, it’s rare to find a place that feels so dog-friendly. Take a walk along the 1.2km seasonal flower path once—trees and flowers will soothe your heart and bring a smile to your face. The dining area and buffet were also delicious. The license plates of cars coming from far away are proof of its popularity.

    It was excellent.

    I had always wanted to visit, and this time I stayed for the first time with my two Golden Retrievers. Despite the scorching heat of 35 degrees Celsius, they were overjoyed and swam endlessly in the pond within the dog run. It was absolutely amazing, just as the reviews said. I would love to visit again when it gets a bit cooler.

    I had a great time.

    This time, I chose a value-for-money Plan with meals included. The Japanese restaurant "Mizune" served delicious dinner and breakfast. Although it was still June, it was hot enough to enjoy the private pool. The amenities had changed since my last visit. Next week, I am looking forward to staying in a Pool Suite with breakfast only, along with my beloved dog and a friend.

    Even on rainy days!

    Even on rainy days, Doggies Island is so much fun! We've stayed here many times, and the staff are always kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at ease. Our dog couldn't run around much due to the rain on the first day but was absolutely delighted with their first grooming session and delicious meals. Honestly, we wish we could live here! Thank you as always. Please take care of yourselves with the changing weather—it wouldn't be the same without you all! We’ll visit again as a family soon!

    Everyone is happy, including the dog.

    It was our first visit, and we enjoyed two wonderful days with our dog. We usually stay at pet-friendly pensions, but this place was spacious, had well-equipped facilities, and provided a satisfying environment and meals. We would definitely love to visit again!

    We visit four times a year. This time, we stayed on a day with heavy rain, but since our dogs love the rain, it felt like having an exclusive dog run during Golden Week. Guests from Kansai were also present, showing how popular this accommodation is. During Golden Week and Obon, prices can be quite high, so if possible, we recommend weekdays or regular weekends for your stay.

    Truly Doggies Island!!

    It is common to find places that allow dogs but have restrictions such as not dining together or not sharing the bed. However, at Doggies Island, everything is possible. This place made our family’s dream come true. It’s the first stress-free location we’ve ever experienced. The hospitality was also outstanding.     I would visit again, but there are a few areas for improvement.

    Being able to stay with my dog everywhere was wonderful. It was groundbreaking to be able to enter restaurants and shops as usual. The dog run was spacious, very clean, and enjoyable. However, the meals were disappointing. The flavors were either too bland or too strong, and the hamburger buns were dry and crumbly—it's a mystery how they became so dry. For the dog's menu, there was pork pot-au-feu available, but when we arrived for our 7:30 reservation, all the pork was gone, leaving only vegetables. We waited for a while but no replenishment came at all, so our dog couldn't eat any meat until the end. Additionally, both neighboring tables had large dogs that barked frequently; this scared our Chihuahua so much that even though she's usually a big eater, she barely ate anything. It would be great if there could be a separate area for small dogs. The Western-style restaurant served delicious food with excellent service. Next time I’d like to try other restaurants on-site but might skip the buffet altogether. Also, there were cobwebs in the bathroom of our room which made it hard to relax. While I can tolerate some insects within reason, having cobwebs touch my face or head or accidentally sticking my fingers into them near the bathtub light felt unpleasant and uncomfortable.

    Enjoy a wonderful time with your beloved dog.

    This is our third stay at Doggies Island. Previously, due to the pandemic, the check-in location has changed this time. We chose a more affordable room than last time, but it was spacious and comfortable. The room was equipped with a Nescafé machine, and the amenities were well-prepared. The dog runs have increased in variety compared to before, and the exclusive dog run for guests was not crowded, allowing our shy dog to happily run around. One concern was that some staff members were unable to provide accurate answers when asked questions and seemed unfamiliar with event details. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience and would love to visit again!

    Daybed

    We stayed in a Room with a daybed, which had steps for dogs. Our dog could easily climb up and down and seemed very happy. After running full speed at the dog run, our dog quickly fell asleep on the daybed. It seemed very comfortable for them, and they enjoyed their stay. As for us owners, we struggled with itchy eyes, runny noses, and sneezing due to cedar pollen from the surrounding cedar trees. We would love to visit again once the pollen settles down.

    It was very good.

    I wanted to stay with my beloved family dog, and after researching online, this place seemed very nice and had good reviews, so I chose it as it wasn't too far from home. It was really great. The grounds are spacious with many dog runs, and there are restaurants, souvenir shops, and select shops where you can enter with your dog, which was very satisfying. Even if your dog gets dirty in the dog run, there are places to shower, and both the interior and the rooms were very clean. It was a place that made me want to visit again! There is also an onsen within walking distance, which was very nice.

    Wanko First

    We used this property for our puppy's first stay. We went to a dog run for the first time, but our puppy was overwhelmed by other dogs and didn't enjoy it. The facility was quite ordinary, but the amenities were well-prepared. I was satisfied except for the fact that the room wear was not great and the sink and bathroom suddenly smelled like sewage in the middle of the night. However, since this is a dog-first property, you shouldn't expect much from the meals. If humans want to be satisfied, a different property might be better. But since everyone here has dogs, you won't feel out of place, and you can enjoy meeting various types of dogs.

    It was fun.

    I have used it about 10 times already. This time, I stayed in a maisonette-type room. I think it was when it was managed by Sanctuary when I stayed before. At that time, the amenities were very good, but this time they were the same as Doggies. The breakfast at Mizuoto is very delicious. It's hard to get a plan, so it was really good this time. I would like to try the teppanyaki, but the price is too high, so I'm a bit hesitant. The teppanyaki where I live is about the same, but since I don't know the content, it takes courage. I wish the restaurant was a little more fulfilling.

    I was able to relax.

    I stayed for one night from February 2nd. Although it was unfortunately rainy, I was able to use the dog run during a break in the rain. Most needs were met within the Facility, and the staff kindly interacted with us often, creating wonderful memories with my dogs and elderly mother. Thank you very much.

    First stay

    This was my first time staying at Family Lodge Forest Terrace. The facility was spacious, with a well-stocked shop and plenty of dog runs to enjoy. We chose shabu-shabu for our meal, and it was a very delicious shabu-shabu made with local ingredients, and the dessert ice cream was also very tasty. Additionally, we were delighted to receive an extra dessert as a service for the restaurant's first anniversary, and the taste was wonderful. Unfortunately, the remote control for the air conditioner in the Japanese-style room was missing, and there was a smell, presumably from the shower drain, that was concerning, but it went away after running the water for a while. The hot water had a smell similar to Onsen, but it didn't seem to be Onsen, which was a bit concerning.

    There are many dog runs available.

    There are so many dog runs, and the dogs were very satisfied! They were smiling all the time! For humans: - There are too many facilities that are closed or under construction, leaving nothing to do besides the dog runs. - We were looking forward to the afternoon tea, but the website stated that reservations could be made until 16:00 the day before on weekdays. When we arrived and tried to make a reservation, we were told it had to be made three days in advance, so we had to cancel it with regret. If there are changes, please update the website accordingly. - The service from the staff was more excellent than any other hotel, and it was clear that everyone loves dogs. - The Japanese breakfast was more delicious than the Western breakfast. For dogs: - The breakfast buffet for dogs was very delicious. - There was a wide variety of dog runs, and they couldn't get enough playtime! (On weekdays, there are fewer dogs, so there are fewer playmates) - The dog pizza was exquisite.

    First Stay

    Previously, I used the dog run and thought that one day was not enough to enjoy it, so this time I made a Reservation for a stay as well. The Hotel Room and pet amenities were very well-equipped, and the breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. It was a very enjoyable stay where both pets and people could be fully satisfied. I would love to visit again.

    A Stays for Dogs

    This is my second stay. Since it was during the New Year's holiday this time, I was surprised by the number of dogs, thinking, "Are there really this many dogs!?" There were also some rare dogs, which was fun! The staff's attentiveness, numerous dog runs, splash pool, dining together, and more make this property a delight for those with dogs. The peace of mind of being able to stay together during the long dinner is particularly appreciated. The Japanese cuisine at Mizuoto is very delicious, and I was able to enjoy it leisurely this time as well. I'm looking forward to the addition of new facilities.
