    About Noise

    [Family Lodge] Forest Terrace (with Jacuzzi) (Japanese-Western Room) We stayed for one night on a weekday as a family of three, with three dogs (two Shiba Inus and one Toy Poodle). This was our second stay, but shortly after arrival our Toy Poodle fell from the stairs to the second floor in the Room. While this was partly due to our own lack of attention, there were no safety gates or similar measures in place, so we strongly advise guests to take extra care if staying here. We also experienced noise late at night (running around in the Room, loud voices, and eventually a small dog barking). At first we assumed it would quiet down and tried to tolerate it, but it showed no sign of stopping. Our dogs then woke up and started barking as well. We asked the front desk for assistance three times; although it eventually became quiet, it was close to 1:00 a.m., and we were unable to sleep. When we asked about the building layout, we were told that four units are connected and that sound carries easily. Had we known this from the beginning, we would not have made this Reservation. Please include any known disadvantages like this going forward. Also, if this noise was caused by a late-night check-in, could it not have been prevented? The Hotel and Facility are good overall for spending time with dogs, but there may be some overlooked areas. We are sharing these honest comments in hopes that we can continue to stay here with peace of mind.

    The dog looks like it’s having fun, though.

    This was my third stay. It’s truly wonderful being able to go everywhere with my dog. The area is being developed more and more, which makes me look forward to coming back again. However, the meals were disappointing. Considering the price, the taste was just so-so. The side dishes might not be that bad, but the poorly cooked rice ruined it all. It really comes down to choosing between prioritizing dogs or people—that’s the dilemma…

    A standard Accommodation with a well-kept lawn and a pool.

    We stayed for three nights and four days with two dogs and a young child. Since it was peak season, the price was higher, which is understandable, but overall it felt like an average Accommodation for the cost. The large dog run and pool were appealing, but there were no amenities or equipment for small children. Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with average food. There were few places to eat lunch, and they were crowded, so it’s not well suited for families with young children.

    It was a one-night stay for the first time in two years.

    Although a typhoon was forecast, it didn’t rain much, so we were able to let our dog play in the dog run. The meals were delicious as well. Compared to 4–5 years ago, there are more Facilities now, and we were happy to see a photo spot.

    Doggy’s is the best after all.

    We stay here every year. We’ve tried other places too, but with nature-rich scenery less than two hours from central Tokyo, delicious meals, and plenty of space for our dogs to relax and enjoy themselves, we always end up saying Doggy’s is the best! We’ll be back again.

    [Family Lodge] Forest Terrace (with Jacuzzi) (Japanese-Western Style)

    On the day of arrival, it was extremely hot, so we had a great time with the family at the splash pool for small dogs. The next day, I recommend getting up early and taking a cool walk along the on-site walking course (Four Seasons Flower Path), where you can stroll through the golf course and forest. The Accommodation shows some age, but overall we were satisfied except that the room had become very hot.

    A dog Facility, but clean.

    We stayed in the South Wing. We recommend renting a tuk-tuk. Since it’s a little away from the center, it’s convenient for going to the convenience store or the dog run. Although it’s a bit of a distance, the building and Room are new and spotless—you wouldn’t expect it to be a dog-friendly Hotel. The sofa had a slight odor, but everything else was truly clean. Amenities were well stocked (including makeup remover and toner), along with bathrobes and more. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes and even a coffee machine. The refrigerator also came with complimentary drinks—everything was taken care of. We couldn’t get a dinner Reservation, so we took out pizza instead. It was genuinely delicious—more like pizza from an Italian restaurant than typical tourist-spot pizza. It might be even better dining in. Breakfast was buffet-style. The venue is next to the building and very close; there is also dog food and treats available, but I’d like to see more variety for people, and it would be great if they cooked eggs to order. For bathing, we went to Mori no Yu next door. For the admission fee, it felt somewhat underwhelming. The cafeteria looked tasty though, so we might have eaten there instead. All staff were kind, and the dog run was well maintained. We had a great time.

    Pool Suite

    I stayed one night in the Pool Suite with my dog. I stay here every year around this time, but this time it rained. The water was cold too, so we couldn’t use the pool. I thought the dog run might be impossible as well, but the eat-in space across from the front desk was opened as an indoor dog run, so we were able to play without getting wet! Since it’s going to get hotter, it would be great if it could be used as an air-conditioned indoor dog run regardless of the weather (just a request). On day two we played in the outdoor dog run. Even if they get a little wet, Doggies don’t get very dirty, and we can shampoo them before heading home, so no problem. The amenities changed sometime around last year, and I’m not happy that the shampoo doesn’t lather well anymore, so I lowered my rating for amenities. I’ll be back later this month to try the Pool Suite again—hopefully we can use the pool next time.

    The dogs will be thrilled.

    Thank you for your hospitality. Although it rained unfortunately, the dogs were thrilled with the dog run. However, one thing: as soon as we entered the Room, an unpleasant drain odor filled the Room. We tried to address it by using the air conditioner and air purifier and opening the windows, but we were disappointed. A Hotel staff member came right away, but by then we could no longer smell it. They provided an additional air purifier, but since we had been looking forward to this Room, we still felt disappointed.

    It truly lived up to...

    It truly lived up to its reputation as the “Disneyland for dogs.” Dogs are welcome in shops everywhere as a matter of course. The whole town feels designed for dogs. All the staff greeted us whenever we passed by. The Room was clean and lovely.

    It was better than expected.

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days during Golden Week. It was lively with many guests, but because the grounds are spacious, it didn’t feel overly crowded. The Room was new and clean, and the bath in particular was large and great. On the other hand, since it was on the first floor facing dense trees, it felt a bit dark, which was disappointing. Next time, I would like a Room on the second floor or higher. We had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurants; we especially liked breakfast at South Breeze and dinner at the Japanese restaurant Mizuoto. We would like to stay again. We bought bread at Koyaryu Bakery and it was very delicious, and we also had gelato twice. There are multiple dog runs as well; we used several of them and found them comfortable to use. It’s easy to get to from the greater Tokyo area, so we plan to stay again soon. We were much more satisfied than expected.

    It was my first time using this service.

    Arrived around 1:00 PM on a weekday Friday and stayed one night with one dog. The Room was clean, and the bath was spacious—very satisfying. While waiting to enter the Room after arrival, we had lunch at the pizza place. The authentic wood-fired pizza was outstanding! After checking into the Room and taking a short break, we enjoyed a walk and played at the dog run while shopping at the select shop with our dog (unfortunately it was drizzling, so there weren’t many other dogs...). Dinner was Western-style cuisine: I had fried shrimp, and my wife had pan-seared sea bream—both were excellent. The next day, after enjoying a relaxed breakfast buffet, we took a morning walk and visited the dog run again. There are several large, wonderful dog runs, which makes it really fun. There are also plenty of photogenic spots, so it’s easy to take great commemorative photos. Since it was sunny that day, lots of dogs were out playing; our dog also got to greet other dogs and had a great time. After checkout, we grabbed a light lunch at the bakery. Finally, we bought souvenirs at the gift shop before heading home. It was a stay well worth it.

    A dog paradise.

    We stayed here to celebrate the 13th birthday of our Shiba Inu, the heart of our family. The peace of mind that comes from being able to spend your time truly dog-first is unmatched anywhere else. This was our 4th or 5th stay, and each time the Facility offerings have become more and more complete, which is very reassuring. Our dog is still doing great, but we also wondered if there may be growing demand for services geared toward senior dogs in the near future. We would be happy to see even more enhancements going forward.

    Dog Hotel

    This was our first stay with my husband, our son, and our Miniature Dachshund. We were able to use the Facility even before check-in time, and we could enter all the shops with our dog (except the bakery). It felt a bit unusual at first, but then I thought there’s nothing better than this. Our dog tends to bark at both dogs and people, but since many other guests also had dogs, no one gave us unpleasant looks. After a while our dog got used to it—it was great socialization practice for both of us. There is dog food available at each shop, plus poop bins and water for rinsing in various areas. The water in the splash pond was clean, and I was surprised to see our dog swimming on the morning of day two!! It was a wonderful experience. The meals felt a bit pricey, but the portions were generous and everything tasted great. It would be nice if there were a few more menu options. We ate at the pizza place and a Western-style restaurant. Everything from the bakery is delicious. The room was clean, and the bed was large enough for us to sleep comfortably with our dog. It’s an excellent Facility and Hotel!!

    Our second dog and our grandchild’s Doggy’s debut

    We stayed here with our second dog to celebrate my husband’s birthday. My son’s family decided to join as a surprise, and when we added an extra Room at the last minute, you arranged it directly across from ours—our 1-year-and-10-month-old grandchild was thrilled. My son and his wife were also excited about the spacious Room and the jacuzzi bath. At Doggies’ paid course area, we met many different dogs, and both our dog and our grandchild were able to enjoy a walk safely and comfortably. The birthday cake I had ordered as a surprise for dinner was brought out by the staff while singing “Happy Birthday,” which made it a great success. We truly appreciate your thoughtful hospitality. Thanks to you, we had a wonderful birthday celebration. Thank you very much. Next time, we’d love to bring my daughter’s family along as well.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. I felt genuine care and affection for dogs throughout the Facility. The Room was very clean, and the bath was spacious—overall, I was very satisfied. I chose a Plan with breakfast, but the dining area was extremely crowded and there wasn’t enough space to move around safely. I think it would be better to introduce time-slot Reservations. Other than that, I was truly more than satisfied. I’d love to stay again.

    A disappointing ending...

    The souvenir I received as a Diamond member benefit had a 20% off sticker because it was close to its expiration date. In the end, I couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away. I’ve been satisfied every time and came home very happy again this time, but this was disappointing…

    Staff attitude

    There are several large dog runs, and it’s great that dogs are welcome in the lovely shops and restaurants, so we visit often. I’ve felt this for a while, but the staff come across as inexperienced. Hospitality is on the low side. What bothers me most is how much personal chatting there is. Even though we came to relax, their long conversations continued like background noise. They may be having trouble hiring staff, but I would like to see staff training that matches the price.

    Various types of rooms available

    A five-time annual repeater. This time, I chose the main building for easy access during winter. The underfloor heating made it very comfortable. The surrounding area is rapidly developing. I look forward to additional accommodations and a dog run in the future.

    Fully satisfied with my beloved dog!

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in the Family Lodge. The Room was spacious with a terrace, giving us the satisfaction of feeling like we were at a private villa! The dog run even had a pond, and our excited dog splashed into it while running around... The meals at each restaurant were delicious, just like a Hotel buffet, making our 3-day stay truly satisfying! We would love to come back again.

    We had a great time.

    We stayed for two nights as a couple with our Chihuahua. There was a dog run for small dogs, the meals were delicious, and we had a very enjoyable time overall. However, the comforter in the Room had an unpleasant smell. We used our own deodorizing spray extensively. Since this is a pet-friendly Facility, it’s somewhat understandable. It would be nice to have some activities available at night (as it gets boring after dinner). A place with UFO catchers where you can win dog goods or treats would be great to keep us entertained in the evening. On the second day, it rained and we couldn’t go outside much. It would be wonderful if there were indoor Facilities where we could play with our pets during bad weather. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

    The meals could be better...

    This was our fifth visit to Doggies Island. Every time, we feel that the meals are not great. The breakfast buffet has limited options, with not much we want to eat, and the desserts are far from satisfying. Despite having Koyaru Bakery on-site, the variety of bread is minimal and quite ordinary. There are several restaurants for lunch and dinner, but unfortunately, none of them stand out as delicious. That’s always a disappointment for us. Also, this time we used Mori no Yu for the first time; however, there was only about a 200 yen discount for accommodation guests. It would be better if there were free access or at least a half-price discount service available. The room was one of the newest Villa Front types, so it was comfortable to stay in; however, only one bed was provided for our three dogs. When we inquired at the front desk about additional beds, they said it wasn’t possible to borrow more beds. Since we paid 2,000 yen per dog as an accommodation fee, it would have been nice if there were enough beds provided for each dog!

    Cleaning is unacceptable.

    The changing room floor was found with dog feces, seemingly left by a previous user. Additionally, the changing room has not been cleaned at all, with a large amount of hair scattered on the floor. The shower room is also covered in mold. While cleaning is handled by staff, it appears that proper management is lacking.

    Highly recommended Facility!

    This was our first time using your service. We stayed with my spouse and two dogs. The walking course for dogs was beautifully maintained, and everyone followed the rules at the dog run, making it an enjoyable experience for us as well. Our dogs seemed very happy to meet so many other dogs they don't usually interact with. After returning home, they fell into a deep sleep, which shows how much fun they had. Regarding dinner, I made a mistake with the Reservation and thought we wouldn't be able to dine that evening. However, thanks to the staff's quick thinking, we were able to enjoy a meal. Thank you so much! Even our picky eater dog finished their meal completely because of the delicious food provided! From start to finish, we had a wonderful stay and truly appreciate everything you did for us. It was such a refreshing experience. We look forward to visiting again next year!

    Kind and attentive service

    After checking out, I realized I had lost my car key and returned to the front desk, but it was too crowded with other guests checking out to speak with anyone. When I consulted the day-use front desk, they kindly contacted the staff in charge of the accommodation building and helped search my room. They found the key that had fallen into a gap by the bed, allowing me to return home safely. I am grateful for the kind assistance of both the day-use front desk staff and main building staff. Although it rained unexpectedly for two days despite weather forecasts, their excellent hospitality made my stay comfortable. The roofed area of the small dog run is located far at the bottom; having a covered area near an entrance closer to the hotel building would allow dogs to play without getting wet. I’ve stayed here many times and look forward to visiting again on a sunny day!

    I was very satisfied!

    It was my first visit. I was both excited and a little nervous about the atmosphere. But on the day, all my worries disappeared instantly! The warm hospitality of the staff and the well-equipped facilities impressed me so much. The Room was clean, and I was amazed by the size of the TV. Seeing so many adorable dogs made it a truly happy stay!

    This is my second stay this year.

    Doggy's Island is easy to visit, so I use it every year, and this is my second time this year. Although my dog isn't fond of dog runs, the private dog run for accommodation guests allows for a reserved experience, and seeing my dog happily running around brings me joy. I also love the delicious hamburgers from Koyaru Bakery. As for the hotel itself, it is always clean with no unpleasant odors, making it very comfortable. With a Dolce Gusto machine available, I can enjoy great coffee as well. This time was my first experience at Mori no Yu Onsen, and the open-air baths were spacious with many options—absolutely fantastic! The hotel's breakfast had plenty of vegetables and was enjoyable too. One suggestion would be to include curry on the menu as well. If I have time next year, I'll definitely come back for another relaxing visit!

    Dog-first Facility

    This was my first time using this accommodation. We chose a room with an open-air bath in Aqua Terrace since my companion loves baths. The first floor had a living room and terrace, while the second floor had the bedroom. The room was clean and well-maintained. For dogs, there were plenty of amenities such as a cage, toilet sheets, cleaning supplies, and even cushion stairs for climbing onto the sofa—everything was thoughtfully provided. There was a gate at the bottom of the stairs, but it would have been nice to have one on the second floor as well. Also, the water in the open-air bath didn’t fill up at all! The hotel has both day-use and guest-only dog runs with very spacious grounds! I booked without knowing much about the layout of rooms but am glad I didn’t choose Casa Blanca... Aqua Terrace wasn’t too far from both the main front desk and dog run areas we used frequently. For those considering making a reservation here, I recommend checking each room’s location on their official website beforehand. It was hard to find where exactly the main front desk was; clearer signage visible from the road would be helpful. At check-in, we received welcome drink tickets that could be used during our stay at their lounge in the main building—choices included sparkling wine or soft drinks. On our first day, we arrived early for lunch at their restaurant where we enjoyed pizza and pasta—both deliciously filling with excellent service from staff members! For dinner that evening, we reserved seats at their Western-style restaurant after checking its menu online beforehand; however upon arrival found discrepancies between what had been listed online versus served onsite... why? This turned out to be one disappointing aspect of our trip—the course meal’s steak (main dish) felt tough yet oddly cold inside like it hadn’t been cooked properly despite appearing seared quickly over high heat… do they not know how rare meat should actually be prepared? Breakfast next morning followed buffet style allowing guests access even dog-friendly food options freely available—but unfortunately marred somewhat by constant barking nearby disrupting others’ experience including some frightened pets reacting negatively too; perhaps stricter rules requiring overly noisy dogs remain within rooms instead might help alleviate similar issues moving forward—or alternatively relocating affected parties further away towards quieter seating areas closer toward entrances etc., ensuring better overall dining atmosphere shared amongst everyone present alike equally fairly balanced mannered approach ideally suited best interests involved altogether mutually beneficial outcomes achieved successfully implemented accordingly thereafter resolved amicably addressed concerns raised previously noted observations highlighted earlier mentioned points discussed above summarized briefly concisely stated clearly articulated effectively communicated
