    Charming Property

    I was able to enjoy a luxurious atmosphere as time passed slowly while soaking my feet in the footbath and watching the pruning of plum blossoms and pine trees in the well-maintained spacious garden. There is also a chair-style kotatsu, providing every comfort. The dishes were elaborate, and I could feel the attention to detail in both the introduction of the dishes and their timing. The bath was also relaxing, with a sense of cleanliness that left me very satisfied. The room consisted of two adjoining rooms, allowing for a luxurious stay. This is a property where you would want to enjoy a leisurely multiple night stay.

    For workation use

    I used the property for a multiple night stay for my first workation. The open-air bath in the room was the best among any onsen properties I've stayed at before. I plan to use it again next year. As for meals, I appreciated that they were served all at once in the room, considering a secluded stay. If I had to say something, there were slightly too many carbohydrates (white rice and sushi, white rice and ankake-meshi), so perhaps if you could consider offering different items instead, it might increase satisfaction even more.

    Child-friendly

    We stayed with one child aged 1 and two adults. All the staff we interacted with were kind to the child, especially the person who served us at the dining area was full of hospitality. Even when our child got restless and moved around, they entertained him, which made us very happy. We were worried about causing inconvenience with a small child, but we were able to enjoy a pleasant soak in the Onsen and delicious meals. Thank you very much.

    A property I want to revisit

    I stayed for one night from February 24th. Thanks to the hospitality of the property staff, I was able to fully enjoy my 60th birthday celebration. I felt relaxed both in the room and in the lobby, and time flew by. The dinner used plenty of local ingredients, was colorful, and a feast for the eyes as well. You can also relax in the onsen in your room, but the open-air bath had just the right temperature, allowing me to soak without worrying about time. There were few taps in the indoor bath which caused some waiting time, so I'll deduct one point for that; however, since they switched baths on the next day, I was able to enjoy it comfortably. Nagaoka is easily accessible from Mishima and Numazu; although I've passed through before, this property is worth revisiting.

    Highly recommended

    This is a highly recommended Japanese Ryokan. The service is excellent, and both breakfast and dinner are hearty and very delicious. The guest rooms are spacious, with well-equipped facilities, and the Onsen is also attractive. Notably, the view of the beautiful garden is well-balanced with plum and camellia flowers in full bloom. If you go to Izu, we highly recommend staying for at least one night.

    I definitely want to visit again.

    I am satisfied with everything, including the room, open-air bath, meals, and service. The Room is spacious and clean. The private open-air bath in the room is perfectly sized, with just the right water temperature, and I was impressed by the insect repellent netting all around. Meals were served in-room for both dinner and breakfast, allowing us to enjoy them without worrying about makeup or anything else, so we could relax both at night and in the morning. We fully enjoyed our private time. I definitely want to visit again.

    I was able to relax.

    The service was excellent, and I had a pleasant stay. The staff smartly accommodated my food preferences without needing to be reminded multiple times, which was satisfying. The dinner wine pairing course was very well done, delicious, and not too expensive—completely satisfying! They also explained the additional wines we ordered, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, I particularly enjoyed the variety in dinners. The open-air bath in the Room was spacious with an insect screen, allowing me to enjoy it multiple times comfortably. When there were children next door, I could hear their voices while in the open-air bath and thought "hmm," but thankfully couldn't hear them inside the Room (the walls weren't thin), so I felt relieved. Drinks at the book café were limited to that location; if you wanted to take them back to your Room, you needed to request it at reception. That seemed a bit inconvenient so I enjoyed them on-site. It would be nice if paper cups with lids for takeaway were available there. The "Osanpo MAP" available at the café provided useful information for outings like lunch; it would have been even better if they asked during check-in whether we needed one for quicker reference or placed one in our Room instead. The flyers and guidebooks were also helpful. We borrowed movie DVDs and Othello to enjoy in our Room—the yogibo in our Room was fun too! Getting around various places within the facility was slightly challenging (especially when raining). I had a relaxing time overall and would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    We stayed as a coupl...

    We stayed as a couple in a room with a rock bath. The atmosphere of the property was very good, and the service was polite and pleasant. The room was well-cleaned, and the bath was very large and relaxing. The meals were also delicious! We were able to spend quiet and comfortable time. It is a property we would like to visit again.

    A property I would like to stay at again

    I have stayed at many properties in Izu Hakone, but I found a property that I want to visit again after a long time. The meals and the onsen were particularly good. The meals were carefully prepared and everything was delicious, but the white rice I had at the end was especially tasty. The onsen was lukewarm, allowing for a long soak, and it was clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant experience. All the staff members were attentive and considerate. It was a property that makes you want to visit again soon.

    Wife's Birthday

    We used the property to commemorate my wife's entry into the late elderly stage. Recently, we have been enjoying onsen trips as a couple every month. Our impression of using "Ishino-ya" was that we were upgraded for free from the room we had reserved. Also, the staff were very friendly and there was no sense of excluding foreigners at all, but I felt that the staff were Japanese. What I particularly liked was the careful selection of ingredients. The dried horse mackerel and dried alfonsino for breakfast were especially exquisite. However, if I may point out a difficulty, it would be perfect if the dried fish could be cooked after the guests are seated at the table to provide "hot items." My wife seemed satisfied with the birthday trip, and on the way back, she mentioned visiting again, which made me, who chose the accommodation, very satisfied.

    With Rock Bath

    The Onsen had a nice temperature, and the meals were satisfying. Although I arrived early, they kindly showed me to my Room. The staff were all pleasant, and I would like to come again!!

    I had a great time.

    This time, I visited with my 1-year-old granddaughter. My mischievous granddaughter was quite a handful both in the Room and at the dining area, but the staff responded kindly with smiles. Thank you for your care. It was unfortunate that we couldn't use the large public bath due to a mechanical failure.

    The open-air bath with the Room is excellent.

    It was a wonderful stay. The most amazing part was the large and open-air bath attached to the room, which was fantastic. There was a net (unobtrusive) to keep out insects and fallen leaves. The water temperature was set to a comfortable level, allowing for a pleasant soak. In addition to the selectable yukata, it was great that samue and bathrobes were provided in the room. The large public bath had bath towels readily available, so you could go empty-handed. Instead of a bath basket, there was a small cute tote bag where you could put small items like room keys. Although all rooms have onsen, the dressing room was a bit crowded as everyone seemed to wash their bodies and hair in the large public bath before dinner, but the bath itself was not crowded. The open-air bath was also at a comfortable temperature, allowing for a relaxing soak while gazing at the evening sky. The book café was well-maintained, and the self-service corner was always neatly arranged. The tea and nut snacks offered here could be purchased at the shop. There was also a lending service for books and DVDs, allowing us to enjoy movies on the large screen TV in the room. The meals were delicious, and the portions were just right. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The Yogibo was also a nice touch. However, in terms of facilities, one side of the two-seater sofa had sagged due to wear and tear, making it uncomfortable to sit as the frame was exposed. I think it's hard for the property staff to notice since they don't sit on it, but it might be better to replace the contents or cover it with a large cushion. There were a few concerns regarding the service. These are minor issues, but just to mention one: after meals, only coffee was available, and there was no option for tea (even a tea bag would be fine...). Since I can't drink hot coffee, I ordered iced coffee, but instead of gum syrup, stick sugar was provided. I was surprised. Also, this is not the property's responsibility, but... There were two boys in the women's large public bath, and one was clearly older than elementary school age. Despite it being a busy time before breakfast, there were no women other than those who seemed to be their grandmother and mother, probably because of this. The property's website stated, "Bathing of children of the opposite sex is allowed up to 5 years old," so I would like to request that this rule be communicated. Overall, it was a satisfying and very enjoyable stay. I would love to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    First of all, unfortunately, stairs to the Room, due to age Next, impossible, dinner was disappointing without sense, morning was also very disappointing with local Ryokan-like content, can't they understand it themselves, the people working were the BEST

    Thank you for your hospitality.

    I think both the Onsen and the staff had a good attitude. It is not recommended for people with weak legs. After a rather steep slope, you have to climb stairs again to reach the Room.

    The staff's service was excellent.

    This time, I stayed for the first time at Izu Nagaoka Onsen "Ishinoya". I stayed in the 1F room with an open-air rock bath "Arita". I was completely satisfied with all the amenities and services. The staff always had wonderful smiles and quick actions, and their hospitality was truly impressive. I will use it again next time. Thank you very much.

    This is an inn where you can spend your time leisurely.

    I decided to take a solo trip this time and was looking for an inn with in-room dining when I found Ishinoya and made a last-minute reservation. The room was spacious, allowing me to relax and enjoy a very satisfying holiday. I rarely encountered other guests during my stay, and it was nice that the large public bath was not crowded. The meals were also very delicious. I definitely want to stay there again.

    The cost performance is good, but

    The entrance of the inn is on a steep slope, and when I tried to go for a walk with a stroller and children, I thought it would be impossible to go down. Since it's within the premises, there is a shuttle bus, but was there no other way to handle this? I ended up carrying my child down the steep slope. The room was on the third floor, but after climbing several stone steps from the lobby, there were more stairs to the third floor. It was tough with a small child still needing to be carried. The hot spring in the room was old, so we didn't use it. On the way back, a male staff member saw us struggling with a large carry-on and just passed by, which was really difficult. There were free drinks and koi feeding, and the garden was very beautiful. The female staff were all very pleasant! I understand it's cheap, so it can't be helped, but I recommend those with small children to choose a room near the lobby.
