    Night Cherry Blossoms

    Located right in front of the moat of Hikone Castle, you can enjoy the luxury of viewing cherry blossoms at night while sipping a beer after a relaxing bath. The large public bath was excellent, and the seating benches also served as mini stone saunas. Both the teppanyaki dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious. The staff's hospitality was perfect. It was truly worth staying at this accommodation.

    Perfect during cherry blossom season.

    Parents' Room (507) The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the illuminated view was right in front of them. My parents enjoyed the night view until the lights went out at 9 PM. The room was convenient, with a spacious bathroom. Amenities were well-stocked. My Room (Castle View 506) Since I stayed alone, it wasn't an issue for me, but it might feel quite cramped for two people. There's no space to fully open a suitcase. The bathroom and toilet were in the same room but clean and relatively spacious, making it comfortable. Dining We switched from the Omi beef course to a regular kaiseki meal. Everything was delicious with refined flavors and not mass-produced like typical group meals; you could tell the chef put effort into it, which my parents appreciated as well. The breakfast buffet had very few options, so big eaters or children might find it lacking. However, those who prefer small portions of high-quality food would likely be satisfied. Other Notes The lounge didn't stand out except for Heartland beer being available; however, since our rooms were excellent, we didn’t feel much need for it anyway. Not having luggage carried to our rooms felt disappointing considering this was a ¥100,000-per-night room. The souvenir shop on-site is quite small—suitable only for minor purchases. Hikone Castle is literally right in front of you—making this accommodation an ideal spot during cherry blossom season or when there are autumn leaves or fireworks displays. Rooms on the opposite side of the hallway with city views appeared even smaller (I noticed during cleaning), resembling business hotel standards; choosing such rooms may require adjusting expectations accordingly. Lastly, I found security concerning as anyone could access guest floors via elevators without needing a key card (key cards were only required for entry to public baths).

    The room with a grea...

    The room with a great view of the cherry blossoms was wonderful. My parents were very pleased. We appreciated being given a room across from ours, which was helpful. One disappointment was being seated in a dark room without windows for breakfast. Was it because we were a group of four? It seemed there were available tables, and perhaps rearranging them could have been possible. Other than that, it was a satisfying stay at the accommodation.

    A wonderful accommodation with cherry blossoms in full bloom

    The day I made the reservation happened to be close to full cherry blossom bloom, and I was deeply moved by the beauty of Hikone. Located in front of Hikone Castle's moat, the accommodation offered warm hospitality, a satisfying large bath, and delicious meals. I believe Hikone Castle in winter is also beautiful, so I will use this accommodation again.

    Recommended for sightseeing centered around Hikone Castle

    I stayed for 4 nights as I had plans in Nagahama and Kyoto. Since there were days when dinner was not needed, I changed the plan for each accommodation day when making the reservation. I will write a combined review. This hotel is very close to Hikone Castle, so on days without plans, I visited the castle, which was convenient due to its proximity. The good points were the shuttle service from the station, being able to view Hikone Castle from the bath, and having drink service in the lounge. The breakfast buffet didn’t have a wide variety of options but included delicious items like tempura ochazuke and freshly fried tempura brought directly to you. It was also nice that coffee could be taken back to your room after breakfast. The downside was that dinner on the third night wasn’t great. It was kaiseki cuisine, but some dishes were cold, ingredients overlapped with others, and sashimi portions seemed miniature... it didn’t feel worth the price. While it’s clear that younger staff members are trying their best with service, I wondered if they could do more than just relay messages to the kitchen—like suggesting reheating dishes? Given how satisfying teppanyaki on my first night was, this experience left me feeling quite disappointed.

    Always satisfying, no matter when you visit.

    I stayed at this accommodation to enjoy the cherry blossoms and the castle, just one day different from last year. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms were only beginning to bloom, but it still had its own charm. The illuminated castle and crescent moon were especially beautiful and stunning, which could also be enjoyed from the lounge and bath. This accommodation not only boasts a great location but also ensures that every staff member prioritizes guests' satisfaction, making for a truly pleasant stay. The breakfast is always delicious, with the tempura of sweetfish being so good that I can't help but ask for seconds. The owner prepares the tempura while his wife serves with thoughtful care, which is truly heartwarming. From those who clean the entrance early in the morning to the drivers, everyone contributes to making this a wonderful accommodation that I definitely want to visit again next time.

    I stayed in a Castle View Room and had a direct view of Hikone Castle. The castle is illuminated until 10 PM, allowing for a luxurious experience of enjoying the view throughout the evening. For castle enthusiasts, this alone makes it a highly satisfying accommodation. The staff were all kind and provided attentive service, which was greatly appreciated. I dined at the restaurant and found it to be a calm and relaxing environment for meals. During good weather, breakfast can apparently be enjoyed at outdoor tables as well. As for the bath area, access requires scanning a card key; however, both male and female entrances can be opened by anyone once inside. I hope they enhance security measures at least for the women’s entrance to ensure safety.

    Hotel with the Best Location Overlooking Hikone Castle

    This was my first stay. The service at the front desk and the restaurant was very satisfying. The room was a bit small, but it offered a stunning view of Hikone Castle right in front. The bed was large and very comfortable. The public bath was well-equipped and extremely relaxing.

    It was excellent.

    The Room, service, Facility, bath, and meals were all excellent! If I had to mention one thing, it would be that as two women traveling together, the dinner portions were quite large, and we felt very full... The taste was extremely delicious! The smiles of the staff were wonderful, and it was pleasant to talk with them! If I have the chance to visit Shiga again in the future, I would love to stay here again!

    As per the Review, it was a nice and wonderful Hotel.

    As per the Review, it was a very good Hotel. They even came to pick us up at the station. In the refrigerator, there were glasses chilled with care. The Room was thoroughly cleaned. I stayed in a single Room, and although it was a unit bath, the layout was relatively spacious. From the large bath, you could see Hikone Castle, and I used it both at night and in the morning. I really liked the rock chair in the bath. I laid a towel, sat for a while, and relaxed. The amenities provided were also good. My hair was shiny with the shampoo. (I should have noted which brand it was) Perhaps because my body was warmed up, I slept well. There was a free drink service in the library. The breakfast was delicious with a menu that creatively used local ingredients. From the windows inside the building, there were only beautiful views that caught my eye. Next time, I would like to try the aroma massage and dinner. I think it would be better if the elevator could only be accessed by card key holders. Anyway, it was a Hotel with wonderful quality. Thank you for taking care of us.

    The location was exc...

    The location was excellent, and next time I would love to stay in a room with a view of Hikone Castle. The breakfast was delicious, and I almost ended up overeating. The ability to take out coffee and tea is a service not often seen elsewhere, and I enjoyed delicious coffee in my room. One very disappointing point was that although the library lounge is available at all times, the café service is only from 5 PM to 10 PM. It was very disappointing when I got out of the bath and was ready to relax, only to find the café closed. It would be even better if there were time restrictions on free services and alcohol, but soft drinks could be available for a fee so that guests can drink and relax. Nevertheless, I was generally satisfied, so I would like to visit again next year, and if possible, stay in a room with a view of the castle.

    Hikone Castle at night is beautiful.

    It was my first time in Hikone. I had a wonderful time. The bath with a view of the illuminated Hikone Castle was great. The bathroom amenities were well-stocked, allowing me to relax. Having a bathrobe was also convenient. Dinner was at Tachibana Ayame. The food was delicious, but the staff was kind. Even the young part-time staff served with a smile. I thought they could naturally provide excellent service because they observed the senior staff. It was pleasant service. Breakfast was also delicious. The freshly fried tempura was especially tasty. I had a lot from the morning. It was a Hotel where you can spend a wonderful time. I thought I would like to visit again.

    Room with a good view of the castle

    Our room was a twin with a good view of the castle. Although it was a renovated room, as seasoned travelers, we found it generally ordinary and slightly lacking. Given its good location, I felt it was a bit of a waste of a hotel. I believe it could be improved by studying the movements of the guests and offering services that step a little more into the guest's perspective.

    You can enjoy a beautiful view of Hikone Castle.

    The location was excellent, right in front of Hikone Castle, with a beautiful view of the illuminated castle from both the terrace and the bath. The free drink and complimentary beer service were very much appreciated, but when I wanted a drink after a late-night bath, the ice had melted, and the beer had become lukewarm, which was disappointing. I would prefer the beer to be ice-cold after a bath. I hope this can be improved. The breakfast was delicious, as reputed. When I requested porridge, it was prepared with umeboshi (pickled plum) on the side. From a female perspective, I felt that the fruit selection was a bit lacking in volume and variety. Overall, I think this Hotel is the best choice in Hikone.

    I was able to relax very slowly. It's a lovely hotel.

    Despite the sudden reservation, I am grateful for the meticulous attention and consideration from check-in to check-out. Thanks to you, I was able to relax. My body was soothed in the bath and stone sauna, I could enjoy a direct view of Hikone Castle from my room, and I savored a delicious breakfast that included local cuisine, allowing me to spend a blissful time. Thank you very much. The combination of winter melon tempura with meat miso that you told me about at breakfast was also delightful.

    The large public bath is lovely.

    The large public bath offers a view of Hikone Castle, and both the night and morning views are wonderful. Additionally, beer and drinks are free after bathing, allowing for a relaxing time. The breakfast was also plentiful and satisfying.
