    Stayed overnight to ...

    Stayed overnight to attend a concert at Oga Hall. It’s close to the station and right next to the hall, which is very convenient. Even when I arrived early, they offered coffee service in the lounge, which was great. I’ve stayed many times, and I like the relaxed feel from the entrance onward. The Room was a clean, calm twin on the courtyard side; having a microwave was also convenient. Sitting on a chair on the balcony and looking out at the moss garden, trees, and blue sky was very soothing. For dinner, since I had Japanese cuisine last time, I chose a Western course this time; every dish used a variety of ingredients, looked beautiful, and tasted excellent. Above all, the restaurant is spacious and relaxing, and the staff served at just the right timing—everything was perfect. I use it as a substitute for a vacation home.

    Hotel in Old Karuizawa

    As you would expect from a Hotel in Old Karuizawa, the surroundings had a wonderful atmosphere. The Hotel service and breakfast were excellent; everything was very tasty and there was a great variety of dishes. However, it was disappointing that the Room shower area overflowed like a flood—almost as if it wasn’t designed to be used.

    You can always enjoy a comfortable stay.

    The hotel is located near Old Karuizawa. However, it is quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. Most of the guests seemed to be Japanese. Since it was just after New Year's, there were fewer people overall. This allowed for a relaxing and worry-free stay. As it's in Nagano Prefecture, it would be nice if more seasonal fruits were included in the meals. The bath felt a bit lukewarm, but overall, everything was great. I would love to visit again!

    Thank you for a fulfilling trip.

    I stayed here for a solo trip this time. As an IKYU Diamond Member, I was given excellent privileges, including drink service vouchers, late check-out, tickets, and even souvenirs—thank you so much. The skip-type Room was spacious and comfortable to relax in. The Onsen was also wonderful. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options. I would love to visit again with my family next time.

    My favorite Hotel.

    We stayed again this Christmas, just like last year. I forgot my charger, but the staff kindly lent me one, which was a great help. Thank you very much for that. All the staff were kind, the meals were delicious, the lobby was spacious and had a calm atmosphere, the courtyard illumination was beautiful, and the large public bath was very spacious and comfortable. We were able to relax and enjoy our stay. I will work hard every day so I can stay here again.

    I stayed at the accommodation for the Mt. Koasama hiking trip, and the room, onsen, and breakfast buffet were all very cost-effective and extremely comfortable.

    I will visit again.

    It was my first time staying here, and it exceeded my expectations. The spacious and open atmosphere, calm ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast made for a wonderful experience. The other guests were also composed, allowing me to enjoy a peaceful stay. I loved the atrium lobby, the greenery visible from the Room along with the Christmas lights, the open-air bath with a sense of freedom, and being seated by the window at breakfast to enjoy a relaxing meal while admiring the snowy scenery. I will definitely visit again when I need a break from work.

    For First Graders: A Memorable First Ski Experience

    We stayed as a family of three, including our first-grade daughter, in December. We started the day with a relaxing soak in the onsen, headed to the Prince Ski School by taxi or bicycle, and returned in the evening to enjoy the pool followed by another visit to the onsen. The facility is slightly dated but spacious with a relaxed atmosphere, making it very welcoming for families with children. The staff were kind and attentive, making our winter holiday truly enjoyable. We look forward to staying here again.

    It was a stay to celebrate two birthdays, a 60th birthday, retirement, recovery from illness, and the entire family's celebrations. An anniversary cake was prepared for us, allowing everyone to celebrate together. The heartfelt hospitality made for a warm and pleasant time. Thank you very much.

    I felt very relaxed.

    Within walking distance from Karuizawa Station, the Facility, though slightly dated, provided a pleasant stay. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffet; the vegetables and fruits were exceptionally delicious as expected from Shinshu. However, it was disappointing that all the hot dishes were served cold.

    The bath was excellent. However, the breakfast was...?

    The Facility met expectations, but the breakfast was disappointing. It might be due to the off-season, but it would be better if more care was put into its preparation. For example, the meat in dishes like Nikujaga was almost nonexistent (likely taken by earlier guests), leaving only scattered potatoes in the pot. Normally, such dishes are replenished, but this was not done and only potatoes were left as they were. The situation felt worse than that of a Business Hotel.

    Relaxing Accommodation

    It was my first time staying at this hotel in Karuizawa after decades. One of my goals was to visit the special exhibition of Tsuguharu Foujita at the Ando Museum, and this hotel, located just across the road, was perfect for that reason alone. The Onsen in the large public bath had a comfortable temperature, ideal for someone like me who isn't fond of overly hot water. For dinner, I chose takeout to enjoy in my room. The prepared boxes came in various sizes and shapes on a tray with detailed advice on how to select them—though I ended up choosing too much! The mixed rice that changes daily was chestnut rice that day; it was so delicious and left a lasting impression. Breakfast buffet also offered all my favorite dishes, leading me to overeat again after last night’s indulgence. Since I had informed them about food allergies during check-in, the restaurant staff confirmed everything carefully with me, making me feel safe and grateful. The room was spacious with a mini kitchen equipped with a microwave—a feature I hadn’t noticed beforehand. If I have another chance to visit here again, enjoying meals in-room while feeling at home might be an option. Since it was right after the last long weekend of the year, both the dining area and baths were not crowded at all, allowing for a comfortable stay. Other guests greeted us warmly when passing by each other; this added even more charm to our experience at this hotel. The staff throughout the facility were polite and kind without any unpleasant moments whatsoever. On our way back home we found ourselves saying: "We’d love to come back again! Which season should we choose next? Maybe we’ll stay for two nights next time."

    Beautiful Resort Hotel

    Stayed for the second time to celebrate an anniversary. The service at check-in by the front desk staff and the restaurant staff was absolutely excellent. The room was perfect for a special occasion, and everything about this accommodation was highly satisfying. I look forward to visiting again!

    This Hotel is the best choice in Karuizawa.

    I have used this Hotel multiple times, and the convenient location near the station, clean Rooms, delicious food, and well-equipped Facilities are truly exceptional. (The Room includes a mini kitchen, laundry facilities, and even a pool.) It is a Hotel that both adults and children can thoroughly enjoy.

    Assigned to a connecting room, it was noisy early in the morning and at night due to laughter from the neighboring room. The Sharp air purifier also made constant strange noises. Late check-out fees for non-members were very high.

    I had the best holiday ever.

    Both Kumoba Pond and Karuizawa Station are nearby, and you can enjoy a pleasant walk to Karuizawa Ginza while taking in the scenery along the way. Although the autumn leaves at Kumoba Pond were in their final stages, the foliage within Harvest Kyukaruizawa was still at its peak. Despite being close to the station, it offers a quiet and serene environment characteristic of Karuizawa. The building is well-constructed and impeccably clean. What stands out most is the warm hospitality of all Hotel staff, who provided precise and prompt assistance. Every staff member we encountered created an approachable atmosphere with their greetings and attentiveness. We had a wonderful late autumn stay here. This is a Hotel that makes you want to return again!

    My first stay at Harvest was great.

    It was my first time staying, but the excellent location and the elegant, serene hotel make it highly recommended. The other guests were quiet, allowing for a relaxing stay. The staff were all kind and full of smiles. Talking with them felt friendly, making me want to visit again. I had a calm and meaningful stay. Thank you very much!

    Worth the price and satisfying

    I chose this Hotel for its convenient access to the station, as I had a dinner reservation at a nearby station. Stayed in Room 103 of the main building. While the room showed its age and the air conditioning was slow to cool, it was a satisfactory stay for the price. The walking distance between the station and Hotel, along with the spacious premises and interior, allowed me to get plenty of steps in—something seniors concerned about their health would appreciate.

    I do not recommend it.

    When I opened the Room door, I was horrified to find several strands of hair on the floor. The bath lockers had multiple broken locks and were unusable. For dinner, we chose a Japanese-Western course, but the initial plates were served very slowly. By the time we noticed, all other guests had left, leaving only us (it seemed like we were the only ones with a 7:30 PM start time as that was the only slot available). From around dessert time, it became clear to everyone that staff wanted us to leave quickly. When we discussed leaving early, they immediately brought out our bill and said "Thank youuu~" in an overly polite yet insincere manner. We will not be visiting Harvest again.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed for two nights with our friends. After making the reservation, we promptly received a courteous call from the staff to confirm our accommodation, reserve meal times, and suggest changing the second night's dinner from Western to Japanese cuisine. Check-in on the day of arrival was smooth and allowed slightly earlier than scheduled. Our rooms were conveniently located next to each other. Although we requested an earlier dinner time on the first night, the staff's quick and excellent service made it seamless. We enjoyed Western cuisine on the first night and Japanese cuisine on the second night; both meals were delicious and reflected seasonal flavors. The room was impeccably clean, which made our stay comfortable. Since it included a Japanese-style room, we could spend quality time chatting late into the night with our friends. Despite its convenient location, it was quiet and peaceful. We also enjoyed strolling through the garden that had just started showing autumn colors—it was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    This is my regular accommodation.

    This accommodation is always my choice for trips to Karuizawa. The location is excellent, and the environment is quiet and pleasant. You can walk to the tourist spot Kumoba Pond. The trees in the courtyard are beautiful.

    I often stay at various hotels in Karuizawa, but I frequently choose Harvest. The hotel is conveniently located near the station, allowing me to leave my luggage and explore. The spacious and calm atmosphere from the entrance is very appealing. It's great that check-in is possible before the designated time if the room is ready. The afternoon drink service would be better if there were options other than coffee. For dinner, I chose Western cuisine this time, and the taste and portion were just right and delicious. I appreciated being able to check the crowd level of the large public bath and always used it when it was less crowded. The room was clean, equipped with a microwave and a small sink, making it suitable for a few days' stay. The view of the inner garden's trees and the blue sky from the terrace chair was incredibly soothing. During a morning walk to Kumoba Pond, the guide shared stories about plants and Karuizawa, which was enjoyable. Since I made the reservation through IKYU, I received many perks, including a contribution towards souvenir expenses, which was great. I would love to stay here again.

    I had a great time.

    I stayed for one night for the first time. I have used several Hotel Harvest locations, but the Old Karuizawa location was the most comfortable. The facilities within the Hotel were very spacious, the staff were very kind, and it was incredibly pleasant—truly living up to the Karuizawa name. I chose the buffet for meals, and it was very delicious. It was a truly satisfying one-night stay. I will definitely use it again.

    Hotel Harvest has always been a favorite, having visited locations like Nasu and Karuizawa before, but this was our first time at Old Karuizawa. The staff's hospitality here is absolutely outstanding. When I made a dinner reservation via email, they responded within minutes and kindly advised me to "dress warmly." On the day of our visit, we ordered an all-you-can-drink alcohol option during dinner. When I tried the sake, they mentioned it was from Iiyama City (or perhaps Iida City), recognizing it as local Nagano sake—it made the experience even more delightful. The next morning at breakfast, we finished around 9:40 AM, close to closing time. Despite feeling apologetic for staying late, the staff warmly asked if we had enjoyed ourselves with a simple "Did you have a relaxing time?" It truly touched my heart. Their service strikes the perfect balance—friendly without being overly familiar and professional without being stiff—a true example of expert hospitality. I just returned home but already can't wait to visit again!

    The Room was far, and I wish I had known earlier that there were luggage cart stations along the way. I carried heavy luggage to the Room despite the distance. The Japanese course dinner was delicious. One disappointing point was a staff member pouring wine carelessly, which surprised me. The breakfast buffet layout and selection were below expectations and disappointing. The Room had spider webs on the outside of the window... I decided not to use the outdoor table and chairs for a break. Overall, it was a slightly disappointing Hotel experience.

    Room with Courtyard

    I requested a Room with a courtyard and was very satisfied with the pleasant view and breeze. It was relaxing. I was initially worried that the takeaway buffet might not be enough, but thanks to the staff's thoughtful plating advice, I felt full. I would love to stay here again.

    The Hotel had a calm...

    The Hotel had a calm atmosphere, making it very comfortable to stay. The dinner buffet featured autumn-inspired dishes and was incredibly delicious. Check-in and check-out were smooth as they could be done self-service. However, it was disappointing that the room door did not close properly, and the restroom had a strong smell of tobacco, making it unusable.

    A Hotel That Meets Guests' Needs

    This was my first time staying here. The staff's hospitality, the French course (as delicious as dining at a fine restaurant), and the Room were all comfortable and satisfying. Even aspects that might be concerning at other Hotels were addressed with thoughtful, guest-oriented services that exceeded expectations. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Always fully satisfied with every stay.

    This time, I stayed here again after a long time, and as always, it was simply wonderful. The staff were all friendly with lovely smiles, polite, bright, and moderately friendly, making them very approachable. The person managing the courtyard exuded a sense of care and dedication to this accommodation. This time I stayed in a first-floor room with a balcony for the first time. Relaxing while gazing at the garden during this season was nothing short of comfortable. I love the large public bath (Harunire no Yu) at this hotel; now both the showerheads and hairdryers have been upgraded to Refa products, enhancing comfort even further. If I may make one suggestion—it would be reassuring if unused (cleaned) sauna mats and used ones could be stored on separate racks. As for meals, although we initially planned to dine out and made a reservation on the day itself for dining here instead—there were only late slots available at first—but thanks to someone leaving earlier than expected, we were accommodated earlier than planned. This was incredibly helpful! However, compared to before when there was more variety in fruits and desserts available during meals—this aspect felt slightly lacking this time. Many other guests seem to be members of Harvest Club; they are all courteous individuals which adds an extra layer of comfort during my stay. Overall though—it was an absolutely satisfying experience! I will definitely return again!
