It is a lovely property where you can relax.
I stayed in the Akagane Room three years ago, and this time I stayed in the Kohaku Room. The property is well-cleaned and offers a very relaxing stay. The meals were delicious. The staff were young, charming, and provided very polite service, but I felt it was slightly lacking. I had mentioned that we were celebrating a 60th birthday, but there was no word of congratulations. During breakfast, other properties would ask if we had a good rest or welcome us back on our second stay. Such small gestures would surely increase guest satisfaction. It was a lovely property, so it was a bit disappointing in that regard. I thought it would be nice to have pump-style hand soap at the sink. Also, if the bath could be left flowing, it would be nice to enter whenever we wanted. We were told to turn off the onsen tap when not bathing, so when entering after some time, the lukewarm water did not reach the right temperature even after adding hot water, requiring us to drain and refill, which was very inconvenient. I reduced the satisfaction rating by one star. I hope for improvements in these areas as it is a wonderful property.

This is my second visit.
I stayed at Akagane last autumn and it was the best trip, so I made a reservation again this year. Unlike last year, this year there is a newly built dining area where I was able to enjoy the cuisine at leisure. This stay was also excellent. I occasionally see reviews mentioning the distance between the room and the dining area being inconvenient, but in a large ryokan, you would have to move even longer distances within the facility, so it doesn't bother me at all.

My mother has difficulty walking, and I am grateful for your kind consideration. If I may say, it would have been better if the handrails in the open-air bath were more user-friendly. Also, I thought it would be nice to have cleansing products available. I would love to visit the Ryokan again. Thank you very much.

So-so, I guess.
I was looking forward to visiting. The room with the open-air bath was nice, but there were so many mosquitoes that it was impossible to use, so I asked if there was any mosquito repellent or something, and they said there wasn't. They said to use the insecticide provided. I used the insecticide while taking a bath. Knowing in advance that there would be many mosquitoes, I wish they had at least placed some mosquito repellent before our arrival. There was no indoor bath in the room, so we only had the open-air bath, which was inconvenient. Also, when I asked for ice after the meal, I was told it would be charged. Even business hotels provide ice for free, so I was surprised that ice was charged. I was on a standard plan, so I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was a bit surprised by the continuous serving of salmon. Grilled salmon and salmon rice... I thought this was a no-go compared to other places I've stayed. I've never really had complaints about the food during my stays before. It was disappointing considering I went out of my way to fly and stay there.
