The same staff member assisted us from the Room introduction through the meals, and they were very personable and easy to talk to. Everything was excellent, including the bath facilities, and it was outstanding value for money. I think it is the best in Misasa Onsen.

A family trip with our high school–aged daughter and my spouse.
We stayed in the annex. As a Premium Suite, it is spacious and comes with a private garden. The amenities and towels are well stocked. There are three TVs. The Room bath includes both an open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water straight from the source and an indoor bath. The toilet is quite small, which feels like a design flaw. Meals are served in a separate building. This is also a newer building and is excellent. They put great effort into the food, with many dishes, and we were very satisfied. There are also baths in the main building as well as in the new separate building, but the in-Room open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water was exceptionally good. It was worth more than the price.

Pillows and Ice
Thank you for your hospitality. We were able to relax and truly enjoy the meals, the Room, and the bath, and my husband and I had a wonderful time. One thing that concerned me was the pillows. Both were soft—one high and one low—so there wasn’t a firm option. I had trouble falling asleep and ended up using a cushion instead. I thought it would be nice if a firmer pillow were available. We always book through IKYU, and we usually enjoy drinks in the Room at night, but this was the first time we were charged for ice. I felt that this could be complimentary. Other than that, it was cool and made for a very pleasant trip.

Satisfied with the Onsen and the guest room; hoping for improvements in the meals and attentive service.
The guest room was new and had a very pleasant atmosphere overall. However, perhaps due to the location, there were many mosquitoes. It seems they had been exterminated before our arrival, but about eight mosquitoes were on the floor. It would have been even better if a final check had been done after cleaning. The Onsen had excellent water quality and was very relaxing. I was also able to unwind in the in-room bath, and I was very satisfied. On the other hand, regarding the meals, perhaps due to pricing constraints that make it difficult to spend much on ingredients, it felt like many frozen items were used for dishes such as conger eel and eel. Also, the rice at dinner was discolored and dry; at first I thought it might be an issue with the rice itself, but since the rice at breakfast was delicious, I felt that the dinner rice may not have been freshly cooked. More than ingredient costs, I didn’t feel much consideration for guests in the dining experience, which left me feeling a bit disappointed and sad. The hospitality and service felt average overall, but having no one see us off when we left was a first for me among Accommodations where I have stayed. I apologize for this harsh review, but I wanted to share my honest impressions in hopes that this Facility will continue to improve.

I was impressed by the radium Onsen and the cuisine, which exceeded my expectations. I would love to stay here again!!
This time we stayed in the annex “Hisui.” As it is still quite new, the moment we entered the Room we noticed a gentle scent of wood, creating a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere. The interior was spacious and spotless, and the in-room open-air bath and massage chair made the amenities especially well equipped. We were comfortable throughout our stay. The calm ambiance unique to the annex was also very soothing, allowing us to enjoy a quiet and luxurious time. The Onsen here was truly outstanding. We had been looking forward to Japan’s renowned radium Onsen, and it exceeded our expectations. In addition to the in-room open-air bath, there are also hand-carved baths in the main building’s basement—such as “Iwa no Oto” and “Ujo”—each with its own distinct character, making them so enjoyable that we wanted to return again and again. Above all, the food was excellent. Each dish showed thoughtful creativity—not only delicious, but also conveying the chef’s passion and dedication. Dinner was extremely satisfying. Breakfast was also good, though we felt that one more touch of ingenuity could make it even more satisfying. At dinner, we enjoyed Hojo Wine “STANDARD,” which we were told is from the only winery near the Tottori Sand Dunes area. Being able to taste local wine is one of the pleasures of traveling. We savored it slowly with our meal, and it became a memorable glass that felt uniquely Tottori. The staff were wonderful as well; starting with the head concierge, everyone provided courteous service with genuine warmth. Their attentiveness made our stay truly pleasant. One small drawback was that there was no full-length mirror in the Room, and there wasn’t a chair or magnifying mirror at the vanity for applying makeup. Especially for women, having these would make staying here even more comfortable. On the other hand, we were very happy to have a massage chair in our Room—it helped relieve travel fatigue. We were also impressed by “Misasa Yogurt,” which we stopped by while strolling around town.【Early summer only】The seasonal melon yogurt (Tottori-grown Perle melon) and drinkable yogurt were both delicious; it’s a shop I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Misasa Onsen. It was a wonderful stay that refreshed both body and mind. We are truly glad we chose this Accommodation as part of our trip after visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine again in gratitude. We would love to visit again in another season as well.

We were extremely satisfied.
I stayed here with my elderly parents and my sister, the four of us. The meals were outstanding, and the gentleman who took care of us was wonderful. Above all, I was happiest that my parents liked this Accommodation and were so pleased. Next time, I’d like to visit on my own and relax. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I was satisfied.
This was my first time visiting Misasa Onsen. The Room was spacious and clean, and it was very comfortable to have unlimited use of the massage chair. It was a bit disappointing that the refrigerator was small and only stocked with water and beer. I also wanted to chill a partially finished plastic bottle from the trip, but the cooling performance seemed weak. The bath was supplied with Onsen water, and it felt wonderful. However, the handle on the outdoor Onsen supply faucet was stiff and hard to close, so it took some effort. The open/close indicator and temperature adjustment markings were fading, so clearer labeling would have been appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were of a very high standard. There were no special performances or signature dishes, but every item was carefully selected and well prepared—neither too much nor too little—and I remained satisfied through to the end. Thank you as well for accommodating detailed allergies and ingredients I cannot eat. The main building’s Onsen was also excellent and had great atmosphere. The separate bath “Ujo” has no foot traffic, so if visiting after dinner, it may feel a bit unsafe for women. At night, it might feel more reassuring if “Yakumo” were designated as the women’s bath. Putting minor points aside, everything was very good, so next time I will return with my mother. Thank you for your hospitality.

Perfect for relaxing and unwinding at the Accommodation.
This time, we weren’t sightseeing; we stayed because this Accommodation had such high ratings in Reviews and on YouTube. It was convenient from Osaka, mostly via the expressway, and we stopped by Hakuto Shrine on the way. As an aside, it’s right by a beautiful beach—an amazing location. When we arrived in Misasa Onsen (my first time in about 50 years), many shops were closed and it felt like a quiet, somewhat faded Onsen town. However, just as YouTube had said, Hashizuya seems to be the one place continuing to expand and work hard. It looks like three new annex villas were completed in April as well. Since I was staying in the existing annex villa “Kohaku,” I didn’t expect too much—but the moment I entered the Room, I was amazed. It was so well maintained it felt brand-new. When I asked one of the staff members, she said, “Whenever something bothers our president, he fixes it right away,” which made perfect sense. The ceilings are high and the garden is spacious; we truly relaxed. The food lived up to its reputation—we were very satisfied. They also created a new dining area by converting a room and added more outdoor baths; you can really feel the owner’s dedication. I have almost no complaints—though as mentioned in some Reviews, filling the water each time for the private open-air bath in the Room is a bit of work… Still, since there’s an outdoor open-air bath right nearby where you can soak at leisure, it’s fine. If you’re expecting a lively Onsen town atmosphere… maybe not. But for those who want to relax at their Accommodation, this place was perfect. On arrival my wife said, “We won’t come here again,” but the next day she said, “I want to come back.” Thank you very much.

Accommodation with Radium Onsen
This time, at my wife's long-standing request, we visited Misasa Onsen, known for its radium hot springs. We stayed at Bettei Tsukishiro, a very spacious, quiet, and spotless Accommodation. The food was delicious, and the breakfast was especially excellent. Next time, we'd like to visit during crab season.

The large communal bath is wonderful.
Although we stayed in a room with an open-air bath, the public bath had a nicer atmosphere and the water was better. That said, having a bath in the room was convenient, and we were happy that we could use it many times. The meals were very delicious. The portions were just right, and we liked that they featured local ingredients with a distinctive touch. Overall, the building felt new and very clean.

Why the high rating??
I stayed in the annex. The room and restaurant were comfortable, likely because the building is relatively new. The food was reasonably good. As for the Onsen, I wouldn’t recommend getting your hopes up. It’s ideal for those who value privacy and want to relax. However, there was an extension under construction during my stay. The morning construction noise was very loud (with no notice from staff), and at checkout my car was covered in wood dust... I can confidently say it does not live up to its rating.

This is our fifth stay here in five years.
Every year around this time, we stay here for the crab Plan. These days, with rising prices, many other Accommodations have raised their rates, or kept prices the same while reducing portion sizes or lowering ingredient quality. However, this Accommodation has kept its prices unchanged, and everything remains outstanding—portion size and quality of the meals, service, and the cleanliness of the Room. We always visit with our children, and we truly appreciate how kindly and thoughtfully you treat them as well. This is an Accommodation I hope will continue to thrive and help energize Misasa Onsen. We plan to keep coming back. Once again, our family was able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time.

Stay at Hanare Tsukishiro
The massage chair in the Room was excellent. The audio quality was also great. Each Room was equipped with a humidifier, which was very convenient. It would have been nice to have makeup remover and facial cleanser among the amenities. The hot water in the main building's bath was definitely better than that in the Room's bath. The meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right. It would be nice to have a wider selection of wine and shochu available. Additionally, I wasn't aware that the souvenir coupons from the main building couldn't be used as cash, as there was no explanation provided; it would have been helpful if this had been clarified.

A Journey for Four Generations
Our annual four-generation girls' trip. It was my first time at Misasa Onsen. Even my 2-year-old grandchild loved the water, and her skin stayed smooth even after we got home. The water was amazing, but what stood out the most was the exceptional service from all the staff. A special thanks to the gentleman who served us (I regret not catching his name). Thank you so much! Even after returning home, my grandchild keeps saying, "I want to see him again." We will definitely visit again! Thank you very much!

The room, meals, and service were excellent, but...
I stayed at Bettei Tsukishiro Kohaku. The room, meals, and service were excellent, but it was disappointing that the water in the private open-air bath was lukewarm. While it can be warmed with hot water that is not Onsen water, it feels like the Onsen becomes diluted. It seems a new annex is under construction, but I would love to visit again if the water temperature issue is improved. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding in terms of presentation and taste. The dining area, staff explanations, and timing of dish service were also excellent.

Room and open-air bath were excellent.
I often stay in rooms with open-air baths, thinking it's a bit of a luxury but worth it as I continue working even as I age. It was hard to get a weekend reservation at Bettei Tsukishiro, so I was really looking forward to this stay. Although it rained the entire time from check-in to check-out, I thoroughly enjoyed the open-air bath in the room. The coffee in the room was fantastic, and the water provided was very helpful. However, dinner was disappointing. The grilled nodoguro fish that we ordered additionally felt like it had been sitting for quite some time after being cooked. I had chosen the standard menu and was looking forward to enjoying nodoguro, so this was unfortunate. When I asked about glass wine options during dinner service, they simply replied with "We don't have any!" I considered ordering a half bottle instead but decided against it due to their response. If they had said something like "We don’t have glass wine available, but how about trying our half bottle? Let me explain more about it," I probably would have ordered one. Perhaps they were busy attending other guests at that moment. Breakfast was delicious! Since it's close by my area, I'd like to visit again if I'm able to secure another reservation—but I'll reconsider dining next time (laughs).

Relaxing hot baths, comfortable Rooms, and delicious meals!
My first visit to Misasa Onsen. I’m glad I chose this ryokan located in a charming onsen town. The main building is a traditional, historic Japanese ryokan that evokes a sense of nostalgia. We stayed in the Amber room at Bettei Tsukishiro. Both the open-air bath with a garden view and the indoor bath were onsen, and the room's decor was excellent, providing a truly relaxing experience. The yukata and bathrobes were new and comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. The onsen in the main building has an underground atmosphere that reflects its history, while the large communal bath in the annex was clean and comfortable. Everything could be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. The meals were delicious with just the right portions, beautifully presented, and conveyed warm hospitality. The private dining area was modern and spotless, with all staff being exceptionally pleasant. This small-scale ryokan offers unique charm that makes me want to return again someday!

To celebrate your silver wedding anniversary
Every year during the Obon holiday, we go on an Onsen trip. This year, with a long 9-day holiday and our silver wedding anniversary, I secretly planned two trips as a surprise for my wife. (I usually handle all the travel arrangements.) I started searching around late June and found a great place in Misasa Onsen through IKYU.com. I made a Reservation but was put on the waiting list for this Ryokan. While we had already decided on the destination for the first half of our trip, I really wanted to stay here, so I waited for cancellation notifications just in case. In August, I received news of an opening and immediately made a Reservation! We were able to book "Akagane" from 8/16 to 8/17. With two trips planned—one before and one after—I shared the destinations with my wife, who was overjoyed! It turned out to be a wonderful silver wedding anniversary trip. At "Hashitsukaya," everything from their hospitality to guest rooms and cuisine exceeded expectations. Next time, we hope to bring our children along as well—thank you in advance when that time comes!

Typical of an Onsen town
The "Tsukiyo" is a detached accommodation, so the room was very spacious. The bathwater was slightly hot, so it needed adjustment to relax comfortably. There were fireworks scheduled that day, so dinner felt a bit rushed, but we enjoyed plenty of local ingredients in a private dining room and left feeling full. The surrounding area is an old-fashioned onsen town. There was construction underway across the street for a new bath facility and accommodation.

Crab, 2.5 servings per person!!
All aspects were rated 5 stars or above! The dinner, especially the crab, was delicious and the portions were incredible—2.5 crabs per person! We were able to order additional crab sashimi and enjoyed plenty. Since we mentioned it was a birthday, they surprised us with a lovely chocolate plate, which made us very happy. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

Mitokusan Pilgrimage Journey
After visiting Mitokusan, I stayed in the "Tsukishiro" room, which had a wonderful atmosphere and allowed me to relax comfortably. The simple Japanese-style room with no unnecessary items, a living area overlooking the courtyard, a cozy bedroom, and a private open-air hot spring bath with natural flowing water were all delightful. Additionally, the welcome sweets were delicious, the hairdryer had strong airflow, and the amenities were excellent—every detail showed thoughtful care. The meals for breakfast and dinner focused not on appearance but on bringing out the best of high-quality ingredients by the chef's dedication; they were incredibly delicious. One of us has food allergies, but instead of just changing dishes, even the menu was adjusted accordingly—a testament to how much this Ryokan values its guests through meticulous attention to detail. The staff members all greeted us with smiles but maintained an appropriate distance without being overly attentive—a warmth that left an impression. If given another opportunity, I would love to visit again!

This was our fourth ...
This was our fourth stay. We stayed in the Amber Room again this time. The room is spacious enough for my wife and two young children to relax comfortably. Upon arrival, we immediately enjoyed the Onsen, and my wife relaxed in the massage chair afterward. The children played with the remaining snow in the courtyard. The room is clean and very well-maintained, and both the indoor and outdoor Onsen are fantastic! For meals, we dined at a new private dining area called "Suiren" this time. Previously, we used a private room on the second floor of the main building, but this new space was also very clean and allowed us to enjoy our meal without being disturbed by others' voices nearby. The food remains as delicious as ever—especially the grilled crab, which is absolutely exquisite! We look forward to it every year; it's that good! Breakfast was also elegant and satisfying. The staff provided excellent service with thoughtful accommodations for families with children—thank you so much for your kindness! We've heard that a new annex will be opening next year, so we'd love to try staying there next time. We plan to visit every March during crab season from now on!

Indulge in a luxurious accommodation at Misasa Onsen
I finally had the chance to visit Misasa Onsen, one of Japan's leading natural radon onsen. The accommodation's onsen source is undoubtedly of the highest quality in Japan. The hospitality was excellent, and the meals were outstanding in both ingredients and flavor. The only disappointment was the weather. Moving from the detached room to the main building for the onsen or dining area was challenging due to sleet and rain. My husband, dressed lightly, shivered and took quite some time to recover. Because of this, I rated the facility 4 stars instead of 5. If it had been sunny, everything would have been a perfect 5. As it is far from home, I may not be able to revisit soon; however, with Misasa Onsen’s top-quality water, I hope to return someday. I will also recommend it to my friends and acquaintances. Thank you for your hospitality!

It was very good.
To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but the meals at this property were excellent. We chose the upgraded course with two live crabs per person. I have visited several other ryokans to eat tagged Matsuba crabs, and this was my first time in Tottori, so I was most concerned about the crabs. However, I was very satisfied with both the crab course for dinner and the breakfast. Although I imagined the presentation might be somewhat rustic, it was beautifully arranged, which was nice. The food was so delicious that I repeatedly asked if the head chef and the kitchen staff were informed of my compliments. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I would like to return and try other dishes as well. The dining area seemed to be newly built, and it was clean and pleasant to dine in. I think the staff did their best to provide hospitality. I used the onsen in the main building, the room bath, and the separate bath. The rock bath in the main building is small. The room bath is also a radon onsen, so it was good enough just in the room. Since I used all three places and bathed multiple times, I wished there was a hair cap among the amenities. Also, I don't think there was any cleansing product. If I may say, it would be nice to have wine glasses in the room. (I think they would bring them if requested) I think there were two foot heaters in the room, one by the table and one in the washroom. They kept my feet warm, which was nice. Boots were also provided for cold weather. The onsen town has few shops, so I didn't take a walk, but the Misasa yogurt from a nearby shop was also delicious. At checkout, I purchased some wasabi seaweed, which was delicious at breakfast, from the front desk. Since it wasn't available at the sales area, they brought it from another room and wrapped it for me, but I wish they had informed me that it needed refrigeration. Although it was a cold season, the bus ride back was warm, and I also stopped by Okayama Prefecture on the way back. When I got home, I noticed it was labeled as needing refrigeration, and since it was a gift for someone, I was a bit concerned. Despite writing various things, it was very good. I would like to visit again if I can this year.

Beautiful dining area
The Room is indeed wonderful. I was a bit taken aback by the loud singing of the men in the open-air bath next door, but once inside the Room, the soundproofing is perfect, so it's reassuring. I visited the new dining area for the first time. It wasn't the cheap construction often seen in restaurants converted from old houses, but a solid structure that can be used for a long time, with a beautiful and elegant interior that wasn't flashy. The decoration seen under the lighting was a woodpecker? It was a cute design. I requested a change from crab to sea bream head stew as I was tired of crab, and thank you for accommodating my request so willingly. It was very delicious. I look forward to visiting again next time.
