    Everything is top-notch. From the moment you step into the Hotel, exceptional hospitality awaits you. The staff's service and language will transport you to a world of luxury. The 120-square-meter Room is perfect for relaxing in utmost comfort. My wife and I were already discussing wanting to stay here again.

    For those who are concerned after seeing low ratings

    To conclude, as of February 2025, there were none of the issues mentioned in low-rated reviews, and it was a very satisfying stay. We arrived a little early, but we were welcomed warmly and the check-in process was smooth. From the request for late check-out to spa reservations, everything was handled perfectly. The meal content was also wonderful, and thanks to the attentive yet unobtrusive service from the staff in charge, we enjoyed our meals even more! Upgrading the meal content was definitely a great decision. One point for confirmation and improvement: The cold bath in the large public bath is quite slippery due to its characteristics. Installing non-slip mats or handrails might help prevent accidents. Thanks to everyone involved, it turned out to be an extremely wonderful stay. We will definitely use your services again.

    All good!

    The staff training is excellent! Every time we passed by the front desk staff, dining staff, and all other staff members, they would always stop and bow their heads. Every single one of them!! There wasn't a single person who didn't do it. I was amazed. This time, we traveled from the airport to the Ryokan by taxi, and even the taxi driver said it's the best Ryokan in Hakodate! As expected, we were able to spend a leisurely and luxurious time there. I definitely want to go again.

    Multiple Night Stay during the Year-end and New Year Holidays

    I just stayed in a Maisonette Suite in November and booked a double room with a massage chair for a Multiple Night Stay over the New Year. In Hokkaido during the New Year, I'm concerned about the impact of snow on transportation. In that regard, Hakodate is preferable to Sapporo because even if flights are canceled, I can return home by Shinkansen. This New Year's holiday, there was heavy snow and low temperatures in Hakodate as well, so I planned to visit Yachigashira Onsen on New Year's Eve but ended up staying inside the Property. The massage chair in the Room was excellent.

    First Maisonette SUITE

    Since it changed its name to Boro NOGUCHI Hakodate in 2010, I have stayed more than 10 times, but as a solo traveler, it was quite difficult to stay in the 120 square meter maisonette SUITE. My first experience this time was that the livability was excellent, but going up and down the stairs was tough. Due to the high ceiling of the Room, the stairs were also high. I felt they were higher compared to other maisonette Facilities I've stayed at in the past. For dinner, I forgot that I upgraded my meal to sea urchin rice and ended up having a sea urchin feast for lunch at Murakami of Sea Urchin, but there was no problem at all. In 2025, I'm planning to stay at Boro NOGUCHI Noboribetsu after about 4 or 5 years; however, one reason why I often choose Hakodate is because of its convenient access from Hakodate Airport. Lastly, their bedrock bath here is amazing. Please be sure to try it out.

    About Shuttle Service

    Shuttle service is provided from the hotel to Hakodate Station. However, when I requested to be dropped off along the way, I was informed that they could only go as far as the station or airport. It turned out that instead of a hotel bus shuttle service, they arranged a taxi. While I can understand if it was further than the station, it's hard to comprehend why they couldn't drop me off along the route. Therefore, I arranged my own transportation. Additionally, there was no shuttle service from the station to the hotel either. It's unfortunate because everything else was fine.

    Breakfast

    As a repeat guest, the room amenities and the bathroom in the guest room, along with the drinks in the salon, are all stress-free, allowing for true relaxation. This time, the breakfast was particularly wonderful, and the dessert pudding was delicious. It's great to simply relax in the room or enjoy the facilities in the salon or bar, allowing you to fully enjoy your holiday according to your mood. Thank you to all the staff for taking care of us. I would love to visit again.

    No children allowed Food is not good

    This is my first time writing a review. This is the first time I've experienced a ryokan that is so detached from its reviews and ratings, and I wasted my time and money. First, the facility was good except for the uneven tatami mats and the poorly fitted doors that were hard to open. The open-air bath had a great night view, and the slight oldness was covered by the view. The problem was the quality. At check-in, we were offered dumplings and tea in a clean space, but there were 2-3 skewers from the previous guests left on the floor. I thought, "Hmm? Maybe they were too busy to notice?" But now I realize that it reflected the experience we had. We were staying with a toddler, so we asked for a small plate and water, but they didn't come until we reminded them. It seemed that furikake for children was provided at other tables, but not for us. They didn't even ask. I felt bad about having to ask for service, so I tried to enjoy the meal, but the sashimi at a slightly good fish shop in Tokyo is much tastier. The portion was also small. The sea urchin rice was bad, the salmon roe was surprisingly small, and the yellowtail was dry. I understood. At check-in, no one noticed the skewers left on the floor, and the staff at this ryokan couldn't pay attention to details that aren't visible. A ryokan that only looks good, food that only looks good, maybe the presentation is good, but the actual quality is too poor. With a two-part system at 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM, we received a call at 6:00 PM on the second day asking if we weren't having dinner today. I was surprised that it could be prepared so easily. It must be pre-made and frozen. That day's dinner was at a local fresh fish izakaya, Uomasa, and the quality of the food, consideration, and thoughtfulness were better there. According to the shopkeeper in the morning market alley, you should never travel to Hakodate for seafood during the New Year holidays. The first auction is on January 6th, so sea urchin and live squid aren't even available at the morning market. Still, the izakaya must be doing their best. It was delicious. There is a theory that the management has changed, and the policy may have changed from before, but it seems that Noguchi Kanko is only thinking about increasing sales for that one day. The locals said it was the best ryokan in Hakodate, so I hope they take pride in being the best ryokan in Hakodate.

    It was a fulfilling two-night, three-day stay.

    Summary of my experience during the stay. 1. Room Comfort The spacious Japanese-modern guest room was very large. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath, and the space for the bathtub and washing area was spacious and comfortable. 2. Cuisine Both dinner and breakfast featured exquisite dishes made with local seasonal ingredients. I was particularly impressed by the fresh seafood sashimi and the beautifully presented dishes. The breakfast offered a rich taste of the local flavors, allowing me to feel the charm of Hakodate. The semi-private dining area maintained a sense of privacy, which was a pleasant point. The private rooms were also comfortably heated in winter. 3. Onsen In the large public bath, I especially enjoyed the open-air bath on the rooftop. The unique location, where airplanes occasionally fly overhead, is attractive. Although I couldn't see any planes this time due to frequent flight changes in winter, the temperature difference with the outside air was pleasant, offering a unique winter open-air bath experience. The onsen in the room also had good water quality, allowing me to warm up from the core. Personally, I found the water quality to be good for the skin. 4. Service The staff's courteous response and meticulous attention to detail were impressive. When I shipped my luggage from the hotel, they wrapped my suitcase with a cover, showing their thorough consideration. 5. Stone Sauna One of the attractions of the Boro (Borou) is the stone sauna, which was also excellent. The stone sauna in Hakodate is particularly spacious, with more than enough space for two people. About four types of homemade drinks were available, allowing us to relax and spend an hour comfortably. In conclusion I would definitely like to use it again when I visit Hakodate.

    About Boro Noguchi Hakodate

    The hospitality, service, room, and meals were excellent, as expected from the renowned Boro Noguchi. If you are promoting luxury, I think guests would be very satisfied if you upgraded the lounge menu, considered the variety and timing, and perhaps separated the lounge for suites and other rooms. Regarding the bath, if the focus is on the guest room, it is fine, but I felt that having only one indoor bath and one open-air bath in the large public bath was lacking for a high-end property. As for the dumplings from Gingetsu? in the souvenir corner, they were the best souvenir I have ever purchased at an onsen property, so I think the choice is excellent.

    It was a wonderful Stays.

    We stayed for two nights during our family's year-end trip. Due to my family's work schedule, we made an irregular reservation of 1 night + 2 days twice, but it was well understood at check-in, and our luggage was moved for us. On the second day, the flight of the family member joining us was delayed, and they arrived after 8 PM, but dinner was flexibly accommodated, allowing us to relax. The property is less than 10 minutes by taxi from the airport, and access to Hakodate city is convenient by tram or taxi, which was great for me as the usual driver during family trips, allowing me to enjoy drinks at lunch without worry. The onsen had a salty aroma, giving the feeling of truly being in an onsen. The large bath was very spacious, with a hotter bath in the front and a warmer bath in the back, allowing us to enjoy the temperature differences. The open-air bath, which is often lukewarm, was set to a proper hot temperature, and despite the low outside temperature, our bodies did not cool down. The sauna had a properly cold water bath for cooling down. (The sauna door was poorly fitted and didn't close unless pressed firmly, which, if unnoticed, lowered the sauna room temperature to about 60 degrees.) The seafood was extremely delicious, and we were impressed by the refined taste of fish like halibut and trumpet fish, which we don't usually eat. Additionally, the two types of dashi soy sauce paired excellently with the sashimi, and my daughter liked it so much that we bought some as a souvenir. We stayed in two types of rooms: Japanese modern and suite. The atmosphere was different from the moment we stepped off the elevator, and the tatami in the Japanese modern room felt nostalgic, allowing us to relax comfortably. We would love to stay again when we visit Hakodate. Thank you very much.

    Hakodate Delicious Delights

    I stayed in a unique maisonette-type room that is unlike any other. The room was comfortable, the bed was cozy, and the spacious indoor bath was a flowing hot spring, making it very pleasant. The dining area was designed to minimize encounters with other guests, providing a sense of privacy, which was great. The meals were visually and tastefully delightful, and the Showa era Seikan Railway timetable used as a placemat for breakfast was very intriguing, enhancing the travel experience. The panoramic bath and adjacent lounge offered a spectacular view of the sea, especially on winter mornings, capturing the essence of the journey. Overall, I enjoyed a luxurious stay, but if I were to point out a downside, it seemed understaffed, possibly due to it being a weekday stay. I waited nearly 30 minutes from arrival to being shown to the room, and although I was served dumplings in the lobby, it was tough on my body, chilled from the snow. Additionally, there seemed to be a considerable wait between the sashimi and the hot dishes during the meal. Overall, the staff, though young, were polite and earnest in their service, which made me realize it was likely due to a shortage of staff.

    A hotel where you can enjoy high-quality and quiet time.

    I have visited hotels in Hakodate several times, but this was my first time in Yunokawa. As per the reviews, the luxury of Hotel Boro NOGUCHI and the onsen with an open-air bath attached to the room did not disappoint my expectations. The meals, with the unique service of a private room, allowed me to enjoy them in a relaxed manner. For adults who are starting to get a little tired of seafood buffets, you can enjoy a series of carefully prepared dishes while enjoying conversation, in addition to the quality of the ingredients. The Japanese-Western suite on the 9th floor is recommended as it is free from noise and privacy is ensured thanks to the maisonette. Next time, I would like to revisit during the off-season when the rates are cheaper. Thank you, next time I would like to try the sea urchin rice.

    Enjoy blissful moments with spacious accommodations and comprehensive amenities.

    I stayed at Bourou Noguchi Hakodate and was impressed by the wonderful hospitality. First, I was surprised by the size of the Room. I chose a Suite Plan, and it was far more spacious than I expected, allowing me to relax comfortably. The view from the window was panoramic, and spending time in the nature-rich environment was truly blissful. Not only the Room but also the bath was exceptional. The bath attached to the Room allowed me to relax as if I were at home. Additionally, the large public bath and open-air bath on the rooftop floor offered an open space where I could fully enjoy the Onsen. The entire Stays had a relaxed atmosphere, with no sense of crowding anywhere, allowing for a comfortable stay. I felt this was because the Property effectively managed its capacity. On the top floor, there was a salon corner where you could freely enjoy alcohol, soft drinks, and snacks, and it was equipped with massage chairs. It was a luxurious space where you could heal your tired body while enjoying the view. The Room was well-equipped with a coffee machine, snacks, and a refrigerator stocked with drinks, including beer, and the amenities were also plentiful. Another highlight of this Stays is undoubtedly the quality of the meals. The authentic kaiseki cuisine, which blends Japanese and Western styles, was not only visually beautiful but also tasted exquisite. With a course that includes breakfast and dinner, the portions were so generous that lunch was unnecessary, leaving me very satisfied. The greetings and responses from all the staff were excellent, and I felt their high level of professionalism. This stay became an unforgettable memory for me. I would definitely like to use it again.

    Despite arriving a little early for check-in, we were warmly accommodated. The room was divided into a Japanese-style room and a bedroom, and although there were some signs of aging, the Onsen bath was spacious with just the right temperature, allowing us to relax comfortably. The plentiful supply of towels and the complimentary beer and tea in the refrigerator were also delightful points. The meals were more than satisfactory with the regular menu, but the upgraded sashimi was visually stunning and enhanced the feeling of being on a trip to Hokkaido. Everything, including the buri shabu for breakfast, was very delicious. I would love to use this place again when traveling to Hakodate. Thank you very much.

    Ranked No.1 in customer satisfaction in Hakodate!

    I was satisfied and refreshed again, thank you! The room I stayed in had a great view, and the powerful sight of the airplanes was especially impressive. From the guest room bath, I could see the sea, the town of Hakodate, and the Goryokaku Tower, which was amazing. Of course, the onsen was also excellent. The amenities and free drinks in the refrigerator always satisfy me. The large public bath and open-air bath are wonderful, and I ate too much soft serve ice cream in the sky lounge after bathing. The meals included some special dishes not on the chef's menu, and I enjoyed them. When staying in Hakodate, I always choose this place. There are also reasonably priced rooms, and I think it's a property I can recommend to acquaintances. I will use it again!

    We stayed for three nights on our first family trip in four years.

    After the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to go on a family trip and chose Hakodate, the setting of a certain famous detective anime, as our destination. Since we were going, we decided on a 4-day, 3-night stay. While searching for accommodations, we looked for the following conditions: - A place where we could stay for multiple nights. - A place where a family of four could stay in the same room (a place with a suite room). - A place where the food looked delicious. - A place with an onsen. - A place not crowded with inbound tourists. Matching these conditions and feeling very attracted after viewing the website, we chose Boro NOGUCHI. Here are my impressions of the stay. [What was good] - The breakfast was delicious. - Even though it was a multiple night stay, the amenities were well replenished. - It was quiet and relaxing (there were no inbound tourists, and we could relax in a quiet space). → This might be because the location is slightly outside Hakodate city. It costs about 2000 yen by taxi to get to Hakodate city. Some people might see this as a disadvantage, but for us, it allowed us to relax in a quiet space. [If I had to say, what I would like more] - I would like the position of the bath to change depending on the day. → Men faced Hakodate Mountain, and women faced the airport. It would have been nice if they alternated. (The open-air bath on the roof of the ryokan opposite the men's side was for men, so this might be difficult...?) - I wanted to eat the lounge's soft serve ice cream a little later into the night. → This soft serve ice cream had a very strong milk flavor and was delicious. So, it would have been nice if it was available a little later into the night. Overall, we had a very fulfilling time. I'm glad we chose this place for our first family trip in four years. Thank you very much.

    Enjoy gourmet food and fine wine!

    This is my fourth stay at Bourou NOGUCHI Hakodate. The main purpose of staying at this property is to enjoy the food and drinks, as mentioned in the title! This time, I chose a multiple night stay and, as a big fan of alcohol, opted for the all-inclusive plan. The meals at Noguchi Kanko's properties are always excellent. At Bourou NOGUCHI Hakodate, I particularly enjoy the seafood, so I always request the sashimi upgrade. Savoring the sashimi with sake or white wine is a delight! And the sea urchin and salmon roe rice, which I can't usually eat, is a must-have dish. The "Millennium Steamed Dish" I had for dinner on the second day was superb! The all-inclusive drink menu is extensive, and there are no cheap drinks in the lineup! Additionally, the pairing plan offers carefully selected drinks that match the seasonal course meals, making it highly recommended. Of course, I never forget to enjoy the onsen and sauna before meals! The gentle hot spring of Yunokawa Onsen is soothing, and from the open-air bath, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Hakodate's sea, Mount Hakodate, the racetrack, and Goryokaku, which refreshes your mind. If the timing is right, you can even see the impressive airplanes! I have stayed in all three types of rooms: suite, Japanese modern, and single room, and I realized that this property has a solid setup to accommodate the number of guests and the scene. Lastly, the staff who make the Bourou stay a fulfilling experience provide pleasant service from check-in to check-out! This sense of security makes you want to stay again.

    It was a very relaxing accommodation.

    The view from the Onsen on the 13th floor was amazing. Since the bathing area is enclosed in glass, it wasn’t cold, and I was able to relax and lose track of time in the pleasantly warm Onsen. The meals and the Accommodation’s service were excellent. Next time, I’d like to stay somewhere other than the solo-guest floor on the 4th floor.

    I was able to refresh myself.

    I stayed for four nights from September 21st. I booked because there was a bedrock bath in the room, and I was very satisfied with the result. The private bath in the room was also a natural hot spring with a large tub, allowing for a relaxing experience. The public bath is on the top floor, so the view is wonderful, and it's thrilling when a plane passes right overhead. The men's public bath faces the opposite direction of Hakodate Airport, so you can't see the airport takeoffs and landings. It would have been even better if there was a switch between the men's and women's baths. The aging of the building and rooms is inevitable, and the room design doesn't compare to modern designer inns, but with the daily replenishment of drinks including beer in the freezer, ample amenities, towels, and bedrock bathwear sets, I didn't feel any stress. I would like to use it again.
