They were very courteous and helpful!

The property was very clean, the rooms were spacious, and the facilities were generally good. The disappointing part was the Onsen. Since we stayed two nights, having only one Onsen felt rather ordinary. There was no rotation between men and women, and it was very disappointing that a property of this size has only one. The observation deck was lovely—you could see planes flying overhead up close and even the racetrack—but it was too hot to sit and relax. It was also disappointing that most of the ice had melted away, and that wine glasses and beer glasses ran out partway through. The beer and wine were delicious, though. Having massage chairs was also a nice touch. The room itself was extremely clean, with plenty of bedding, towels, yukata robes, and amenities provided—overall a great impression. However, the stairs felt a bit unsafe. All staff members were kind and pleasant. In particular, the gentleman in a black jacket who assisted us at meals (he seemed to be in a manager role) gave very thorough explanations each time and even adjusted timing for our evening sightseeing plans; his support throughout our stay was truly outstanding. If I may offer one strict comment: when I first ordered beer, a young female staff member didn’t seem to understand my question about which option was draft beer, which was unfortunate. If many staff are not familiar with alcohol selections, it might help to add clearer descriptions on the menu. You could tell great care went into the cuisine; however, many older guests tend to prefer more standard flavors, so it might be helpful to have regular soy sauce or salt available as well. Overall everything tasted great. I especially enjoyed the mixed rice on the second day but couldn’t eat much because I got too full—I felt both disappointed and sorry about that. I understand renovations are planned soon; I’m sure it will be beautifully renewed. Thank you very much.

    The Best Accommodation

Both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally delicious, and we were completely satisfied. The view from the lounge was wonderful. From the in-room scenic bath, we could look out over the sea, and from the living area we could see airplanes up close. In the open-air bath of the large public bath, we could look up at planes just before landing, and were truly impressed by how powerful it was. We look forward to visiting again next year after the renovations are completed.

I was finally able to stay at the Accommodation I had been wanting to try, and the timing worked out perfectly this time. The meals were very delicious, and the staff were kind and helpful. The large public bath was spacious and at a comfortable temperature, which was great. However, the in-room 전망 bath was extremely hot—so much so that I had to turn the cold water on full blast to get in. The Room layout also felt a bit cramped overall, with a changing area and washbasin between the Japanese-style room and the bedroom. In addition, I was slightly concerned that the large public bath at Takubokutei was clearly visible from the guest room (perhaps it was the men’s bath). As you will be closing for an extended period, I look forward to seeing what new form it will take when you reopen.

    Everything was perfect.

We were satisfied with everything—the Room, the bath, and the meals. The staff’s service was also excellent. If we have the opportunity, we would like to stay again.

    A Great Choice

On this trip to Hakodate, we chose this Hotel instead of the one that claims to have Japan’s best breakfast. We were able to stay at a good rate as it was before renovations, and it was comfortable with no noticeable aging or issues. The Room was a maisonette as expected, but the second floor alone was more than enough. It’s a strange layout—I wondered why there’s even a first floor. Overall, we were satisfied with both the meals and the Facility. We also preferred this breakfast over a seafood buffet; for seafood, you can fully enjoy it by going to the market for lunch anyway. The Onsen in the Room had too much mineral sediment floating in it, which put me off a bit—but I just tried not to look. Above all, it’s so close to the airport that seeing planes flying right overhead up close was exciting. When we go to Hakodate again, I’d like to stay here again.

    It was very comfortable.

The Room was spacious and comfortable. However, perhaps due to the in-room bath, the temperature felt a bit warm. It would be helpful if the air-conditioning instructions were a little clearer. We had breakfast, and it was nicely presented and delicious.

Perfect for a relaxed, grown-up getaway in Hakodate!

Thank you very much for your hospitality. This was our first stay, and we used it as a relaxing family trip Accommodation in Hakodate. [Guest Room & Amenities] This time, we stayed in the “SUITE Japanese-Western Room (9th floor / Maisonette).” At 120 m², the Room was spacious and well laid out, with a twin-bed bedroom, a Japanese-style room, and plenty of space including a sofa area. There were also plenty of drinks provided, which was very helpful. However, as is typical with a maisonette layout, you enter from the 9th floor where there is only the entrance area along with a large sink/vanity and bathroom. Since the main living space is downstairs, carrying heavy luggage up and down was difficult. The amenities included high-quality L’OCCITANE products. [Service] The front desk service was average, but it was disappointing that there was no one at the drop-off area and no assistance with luggage even when we were carrying it ourselves. For a Ryokan of this class, that was a negative point. Even though our check-in time was late, we were not satisfied. On the other hand, the staff at the dining venue took great care of us, and we were able to enjoy delicious dishes. [Onsen & Bath] The panoramic open-air bath was wonderful; there were many washing stations and also a sauna, so we fully enjoyed the Onsen. The in-room bath also featured free-flowing natural hot spring water. The water quality felt excellent—our skin became smooth—and it was truly a great bath. [Facility & Equipment] From the moment we entered the building it felt stylish throughout. There was also a billiards table that our family enjoyed together. That said, since it seemed to be just before maintenance scheduled for six months starting this August, there were several noticeable areas such as poor wall paintwork. [Meals] There was so much food that even an adult man could not finish it all—and every dish tasted excellent. The freshly cooked Hokkaido rice served in an iron pot had natural sweetness and was especially delicious. [Overall Satisfaction] Overall we were very satisfied. We would like to stay here again on our next relaxing trip to Hakodate.

    It was very good.

My wife and I stayed here together. The maisonette-style Room was very practical, and we had a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and we felt like giving the head chef high praise. The staff were wonderful as well; my wife was delighted, and we both agreed we would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful trip and were very satisfied!

With an in-Room scenic-view bath, we were able to relax and spend time at our own pace. Above all, the luxurious and delicious cuisine was wonderful, and since meals were served in a semi-private dining space, we didn’t have to worry about anyone outside our family—making it feel truly indulgent. The staff were all kind and attentive as well. We would definitely like to stay again after the renovation. Thank you in advance for your hospitality then.

Hakodate NOGUCHI has a wonderful team of staff.

When I stayed in Noboribetsu about six months ago, I felt it might be enough for me... but my mother is a big fan of Noguchi, so we decided to stay here. Thank you very much for the thoughtful upgrade this time. Thanks to that, my Room was close to my mother’s, so I could relax and feel at ease. The staff who assisted us at breakfast and dinner were very kind, and we enjoyed hearing various local stories—it was a wonderful time. This is a Facility I would definitely like to use again when visiting Hakodate. I heard you will be starting renovation work soon... I’m sure it will be demanding for everyone, but please keep up the great work.

The ultimate surprise that exceeds expectations—perfect for life’s special milestones.

We stayed here for a special trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our milestone anniversary (our golden wedding). Thanks to the Hotel’s kindness, we were upgraded from the Royal Suite Room on the 6th floor to the 9th floor, and we were able to spend a dreamlike time in an extraordinary, luxurious space. The view from the spacious Room, the open-air bath in the Room, and all of the amenities were completely satisfying. Above all, what made us happiest was that the staff surprised us with a celebration just for us. Their thoughtful attention to detail and truly professional hospitality that stayed close to our hearts deeply moved us. We are convinced this is a top-tier Hotel in every respect—space, guest Rooms, and the hospitality of all staff. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay that will be a treasure for life. We will definitely return.

    Excellent

Everything was excellent. However, one disappointment: the Onsen water was too lukewarm and I felt cold. In the open-air bath in the Room, I could add more hot water so I was able to warm up, but the large public bath felt cold overall. Otherwise, everything was perfect. I would like to stay again.

This is a very comfortable Hotel.

I stayed on the 59,400 yen Plan in a WAMODERN Japanese-Western style room with a scenic-view bath on a high floor (non-smoking). All of the staff were very courteous and made my stay comfortable. For dinner, the chef kindly prepared anago sushi that wasn’t on the menu. It was sushi with kombu—something I’d never had before—and it was extremely delicious. Breakfast was also tasty, but dinner was especially wonderful! I went to the open-air bath several times, but in the morning crows gathered around it, so unfortunately I couldn’t stay in for long. Also, I think it would be easier for women to use if there were a bit more consideration in how the open-air bath is arranged. I have stayed at your Noboribetsu location as well, and this time in Hakodate I had fun playing billiards.

    Very satisfied

To celebrate both Mother’s Day and my mother’s birthday, my sister, my mother, and I stayed here. We were very satisfied with the Room, the Onsen, and the meals! It might be hard to come every year, but we’d love to visit again.

    The maisonette was a mistake.

The Room is spacious and the bathroom is also large, which is nice, but brushing your teeth on the second floor was inconvenient. Dinner was average, and the main meat dish was disappointing. Breakfast did not suit my taste overall.

This was my first stay here. All the staff were kind and welcoming, and it was a very comfortable stay. The Room interior is lovely as well. The food was delicious—I ate so much that after dinner I ended up skipping my plan to soak in the open-air bath when the planes fly overhead, and then have soft-serve ice cream in the lounge, which I still regret a bit (haha). Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality!

    Cherry blossoms in full bloom

The cherry blossoms were in perfect full bloom. It’s conveniently close to the streetcar stop, the Onsen water temperature was just right, and I was delighted to enjoy seasonal ingredients prepared with local, distinctive cooking methods. Since Hakodate Airport is nearby, I was truly impressed to be able to watch planes taking off and landing from the women’s bath. This is one Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

I’d love to stay here again.

Whenever I feel like going to an Onsen by myself, I stay here. They have a dedicated solo-traveler floor, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys traveling alone. You rarely run into other guests on the floor, and the Hotel is relatively quiet and extremely comfortable. The staff are friendly and approachable, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Dinner always starts at 5:30 p.m., which is a bit early, but the portions are generous so I’m not hungry again until morning. From the large public bath you can see the airport and watch planes take off and land; there aren’t many flights, so it feels lucky if you catch one. Still, the airport night view is beautiful. Next time, I’d like to try a Multiple Night Stay.

This was my first time trying a Plan that included a massage.

Visited at the end of 2025. To relieve the fatigue of the year, I chose a Plan that included a massage. It was just as good as I had imagined. Including this time, I have visited more than 10 times. My routine is to arrive in Hakodate on a morning flight, eat at the morning market, take a bath at the public Yachigashira Onsen, and then check in. In 2025 I visited Bourou NOGUCHI Noboribetsu twice, but compared with Noboribetsu, Hakodate is better in that the shared spaces are more spacious. However, for smokers it is disappointing that there are no smoking guest rooms. There was a lot of snow this year, but Hakodate feels reassuring because there is the Shinkansen in case of emergency. During snowy seasons, I inevitably choose Hakodate over Noboribetsu. I like the service, meals, and Facility as well, so I would like to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    As always, wonderful.

As a local, I stay here about once every six months. This is my favorite Hotel in Hakodate. Thank you very much for the thoughtful upgrade this time. The maisonette Room is as stylish as ever. I was able to relax in the private rock bath in the Room. The meal, made with local ingredients and a seasonal touch, was delicious. (Semi-private dining) The bar is also well worth a visit. The Hotel is clean and has a calm atmosphere. As an aside, the overall vibe feels geared toward adults. If you are traveling with children, please choose carefully. In front of the large public bath area, there is also a free-flow service of alcohol and juice until 10:00 p.m. All of the staff were very kind. I will be back.

So close to the airport, and the hot spring is wonderful!

We stayed here during Golden Week before COVID and had a great impression, so this time my spouse and I returned to celebrate my retirement. As we’ve gotten older, we prefer “a little of something truly delicious,” so we chose the Gourmet Small-Portion Kaiseki Plan. At check-in, our Room was upgraded, which felt like a nice bonus. The cuisine was exactly as expected—excellent—and there were plenty of dishes; everything was delicious and we ended up completely full. The staff member in charge of our meal was very attentive, which made it taste even better.

    Soft-Serve Ice Cream and Breakfast

In the salon on the 13th floor, I was truly happy to be able to enjoy soft-serve ice cream and a highball together. Also, the rolled omelet and grilled fish at breakfast were very delicious. At the spa salon on the 8th floor, I was also able to purchase HARNN soaps and oils. I believe there are only two physical stores in Hokkaido—Sapporo and here. Because you can check the fragrance before buying, I highly recommend it. The staff were also very kind, and I was able to make a great purchase. It looked like there was a matcha experience corner in the tea room on the 1st floor, so I would like to try it next time. Thank you very much to all of your staff. I would love to visit again.

Step into the lobby and feel like you’ve entered another world!

In conclusion, if you’re planning to visit Yunokawa Onsen, this is a Hotel well worth considering. From the outside, the building’s imposing presence made me worry that it might offer impersonal service focused on handling large numbers of guests, but that was not the case at all—every staff member welcomed us with kindness and care. The Room was exceptionally spacious (almost too spacious), and having an Onsen bath in each Room was an absolute delight. The large public bath and salons were just as described in the Hotel information, but what stood out even more were the artworks throughout the property and how they are displayed, as well as the luxurious use of space in the lobby, bar, and salons on each floor—no matter where you are inside the Hotel, you feel comfortable. It was only a one-night stay, but honestly I wished we could have relaxed longer. I would love to visit again someday—thank you very much. (After checkout, we went to “Gingetsu” to buy dango; they were delicious!)

    It was a wonderful stay.

Although I stayed alone this time, I was able to relax and feel refreshed without any awkwardness. Not only was the food delicious, but I was also impressed by the thoughtful attention to detail—such as pressing the elevator button for guests before they even had to. I was also very happy with the Room upgrade. This is a wonderful Accommodation that I would love to return to when visiting Hakodate again. Thank you for a great stay.

The Onsen and the meals are both excellent.

We stayed here for a family trip. This was our third stay, so we already knew how wonderful the Onsen is. Our whole family came back again for the meals and the Onsen. This time, the breakfast was especially good. The staff’s service was also excellent. If I had to mention something, the billiard cues have been worn out for years. We also used the bar, but the tonic water wasn’t fresh and had gone flat. I also felt there is room to improve the ice. That said, overall we were very satisfied.

We were upgraded to a better room, where we could watch the takeoffs and landings at Hakodate Airport from the window. The spacious private Onsen was amazing. The staff always greeted us with smiles, and the dining area was in a private room, allowing us to enjoy our meals comfortably. This Hotel is definitely worth revisiting!

    I had a relaxing time.

We had planned this stay during the COVID period but had to postpone, making this visit a long-awaited one. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and well-stocked amenities. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with detailed guidance, allowing us to enjoy our stay comfortably. Dinner included fresh sashimi and perfectly cooked rice, which was absolutely delightful. Breakfast offered an impressive variety of side dishes that made it hard to keep up with the rice! As for the Onsen, unfortunately, due to extremely bad weather and cold temperatures on that day, the water became lukewarm over time—almost close to cold water at some points. It took quite a while to warm up properly as we needed to add more hot water frequently. Even in the morning bath session, the temperature felt closer to cold water again; perhaps that's just how it is during colder weather? The temperature didn’t seem suitable for 24-hour use. Additionally, there seemed to be an issue with drainage as the water flow was slow and concerning at times. Overall though, thanks to their attentive service and hospitality, we had a wonderful time!

The staff worked hard with smiles even during a busy period, providing excellent service. However, the timing of meal settings seemed slightly off, causing the meat to cool down, which was unfortunate. Similarly, at breakfast, there was a slight mismatch between the freshly cooked rice and the dining time, leaving delicious fish cold. Adjusting breakfast times to allow for more flexibility could help both staff avoid rushing and guests enjoy perfectly timed warm dishes and freshly cooked rice. I look forward to visiting again next time!
