    It was a truly wonderful stay.

    We stayed as a family to celebrate my husband's birthday. From arrival to departure, we were deeply moved by the heartfelt hospitality and warm consideration of the staff. The room's private open-air bath was perfectly sized, and the amenities and facilities were excellent. The public bath is available throughout the night, allowing us to enjoy a quiet soak at dawn, and although there is an additional charge for private baths, it was great for our family of three. As for the meals, both dinner and breakfast were plentiful and delicious, with beautiful tableware that delighted us visually as well. For my husband's birthday, they prepared a whole birthday cake for an additional fee along with other thoughtful gestures from the establishment that touched our hearts as a family. We would love to stay here again when visiting Hakone!

    Parent-Child Gratitude Plan

    With the Parent Gratitude Plan, we were able to add simmered golden eye snapper and spiny lobster. The large golden eye snapper was delicious, and my parents were very pleased. We also received a luxurious fruit platter in the Room, which made us very satisfied. The two-drink service per person during dinner wasn't necessary for us since we don't drink alcohol. However, the chair-sofa in the Room was too low for my parents with bad knees, making it difficult for them to stand up. That was the only downside of our chosen Room.

    It was a satisfying Ryokan that makes you want to visit again.

    Renovated Room with Open-Air Bath. The bath was spacious and comfortable, and the room was clean and well-maintained. Since we had a small child with us, the tatami flooring without steps and the ability to walk barefoot inside the Ryokan were very convenient. The food was delicious and served in generous portions that we couldn't finish. The staff at the Ryokan were all kind and attentive. We would love to stay here again if given the chance.

    A memorable trip for our family of five to celebrate a 60th birthday!

    The hospitality was absolutely wonderful. The driver was very kind, providing an excellent welcome! Dinner was exquisite, but the breakfast was luxurious and left our entire family truly satisfied! It was the best accommodation experience! Thank you so much!

    Excellent service.

    It felt like a unique accommodation, neither a hotel nor a ryokan. The service at the dining area was excellent. However, for a two-bedroom room, the single and narrow washbasin seemed unbalanced for what was supposed to be a special room. The pricing also felt surprising—perhaps due to lingering impressions of domestic travel before COVID-19 and inbound tourism. With factors like yen depreciation, rising costs, and labor shortages, it feels like expenses have doubled compared to before. The low sofa in the room made it difficult to sit and stand comfortably, so it might not be ideal for elderly guests looking to relax in the room. A smaller meal course is recommended as breakfast is surprisingly hearty and delicious but takes time to finish—be mindful of shuttle service schedules!

    Onsen and service were excellent.

    The Onsen had the perfect temperature, and we enjoyed various baths. The open-air bath in the room was also at an ideal temperature, allowing us to fully relax. The meals were exquisite, with flavors that were not too strong but highlighted the natural ingredients—kudos to the chef! The staff provided excellent service, and we were especially comforted by the male staff member who served our meals. Thanks to the guidance of the receptionist, we were able to see Mount Fuji without any clouds covering its peak, which made us very happy. Thank you so much!

    No complaints.

    Pick-up service available from Hakone-Yumoto Station, and excellent hospitality continues upon arrival at the Ryokan. The meals change monthly, making you want to visit again. Breakfast was satisfying, and the Room was spotless and clean. The private open-air bath in the guest room had a perfect temperature, allowing for a relaxing stay. A Ryokan you'll want to revisit!

    It was an amazing accommodation beyond imagination.

    I had the pleasure of using Rocca no Ayumi for the first time with my elderly mother and sister. Every aspect of the hospitality exceeded our expectations. The staff, the cuisine, the hot springs, and the room were all exceptional, with each person paying attention to every detail with great care. Noticing that my sister's birthday is next week, you prepared a wonderful surprise that made it an incredibly happy time for our family. We would love to visit again.     First Stay in Hakone

    We chose this accommodation based on reviews among many options. All the staff, including the driver who picked us up, were very pleasant. The meals were visually stunning and absolutely delicious. We would definitely like to stay at this accommodation again.

    It was the best hospitality.

    I used the Maternity Plan. The communication about ingredients and other details before my stay was very thorough, and the responses were impressively quick. The shuttle service staff were warm and welcoming, and everyone took great care of us upon arrival, allowing us to have an exceptional time. The room was equipped with chairs and maternity wear, making it stress-free and comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly delicious. It was the best accommodation that makes me want to stay again even after my baby is born.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    I stayed with the basic plan that offers monthly creative Kaiseki cuisine. The room had beautiful welcome fruits prepared, which made me happy right upon arrival. Dinner was a feast for the eyes and taste buds, with exquisite dishes and presentation, truly allowing me to enjoy Kaiseki cuisine with all five senses. Breakfast was also undeniably delicious and left me completely satisfied. The room and private open-air bath were comfortable, providing a relaxing and pleasant time throughout my stay. The staff were all kind and attentive, making my entire stay enjoyable for which I am very grateful. Everything exceeded expectations, making it a wonderful accommodation I would love to visit again.

    A perfect accommodation with no complaints

    Every year, I gift my parents in their 70s an Onsen trip. Since Hakone is a vast area, they have visited numerous accommodations from Yumoto to Gora and Lake Ashi over the years. However, they said that Hanamon was the best and decided to settle on it as their favorite. This was their first repeat stay in the Hakone area. They gave it a full 5-star rating! They especially loved the hospitality, service, and meals, returning home in high spirits again this time. As long as they can manage on their own, we plan to rely on this accommodation every year moving forward.

    Good.

    I stayed here over 10 years ago, but the renovations have transformed it into a completely different Ryokan. Overall, it was clean and comfortable. The meals were lightly seasoned and very delicious. The staff member in charge was cheerful and wonderful.

    Traveling with elderly parents

    I stayed at Rocca Yui on the 5th floor for two nights on September 4th, 5th, and 6th. As mentioned in the reviews, the meals were incredibly delicious. Even my elderly parents, who usually don’t eat much, finished everything while saying they couldn’t possibly eat it all. My mother praised the place, saying it was wonderful and that she’d love to come back during autumn to see the fall foliage. My father also said it was great and wanted to visit again. Seeing them both so happy made me very glad. The room’s private hot spring bath was also a favorite of my mother’s—she used it multiple times. Despite the bad weather during our trip, I felt it was well worth visiting. Thank you very much! I’ll definitely visit again. Apologies for not having many photos—I wanted to share pictures of the bath as well, but there are people in them. The bath itself was beautiful and truly enjoyable!

    We are fully satisfied with this Hakone-style accommodation.

    From our room, we could see the mountain range of Hakone. Despite the intense heat, we felt a refreshing breeze while sitting on the balcony or soaking in the bath. The building itself seems old, but thanks to renovations, maintenance, and thorough cleaning, it exudes a well-used charm. It offers a retro Hakone-style Ryokan experience that you won't find in newly built stylish hotels. The meals were exceptionally delicious. Additionally, all the staff were incredibly polite and attentive. My husband (a foreigner) was deeply impressed and said with delight, "Japanese people are truly courteous and polite; such hospitality is unimaginable in other countries!" In an era where standardized services and meals are becoming more common among Ryokans (perhaps due to inbound tourism), I was delighted to discover this Ryokan that brings joy to Japanese guests as well.

    The meals were truly delicious. Both dinner and breakfast were so good that there wasn’t a single dish my family, including myself, didn’t say “delicious” to. The tableware and presentation were also lovely, lifting our spirits just by looking at them. The staff provided bright and courteous service, with clear explanations about the dishes. The dressing area and washing space in the large public bath were clean as well. We enjoyed many delightful touches such as welcome drinks, the option to choose cute pouches and yukatas, which made our stay even more enjoyable. My family talked about wanting to visit again.     A wonderful accommodation you'll want to visit again

    We reserved two rooms with open-air hot spring baths, "Rocca," under the Standard Creative Kaiseki Plan for both of my parents. First, the heartfelt hospitality from all the staff was truly impressive. The facility was impeccably clean, the large public bath was spacious with a variety of options, and the private open-air bath in our room was exceptional. The meals were incredibly delicious, with beautifully crafted presentations that delighted both our eyes and taste buds. The amenities and various services were all outstanding, making it feel like one night wasn't enough to fully enjoy everything. We would love to visit again as a family. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent.

    We stayed as a family. Since I was pregnant, I had many concerns, but the facility was very clean and we were able to stay with peace of mind. Shuttle Service: Upon arriving at Hakone-Yumoto Station and contacting them, the shuttle was already waiting for us, so we didn’t have to wait in the heat. It was very convenient. Service: The staff were polite and made our stay comfortable. Meals: Each dish was carefully prepared, and we enjoyed both the presentation and taste. The plates and overall appearance were excellent. Some may find the portions slightly large depending on their preference. Amenities: Well-equipped amenities were provided. We didn’t notice that yukata sashes were placed in the room initially. Onsen: We reserved a room with an open-air bath attached. Both the private onsen in our room and the public bath were delightful to use. It was a fulfilling family trip, and we would love to visit again!

    The Ultimate Hospitality

    From arrival to departure, we received the best hospitality. There were many Onsen options, the food was delicious, and the beautiful tableware added visual enjoyment. The woman who assisted us and the driver who provided Shuttle Service offered exceptional service in a short amount of time.     Family Trip for a Long Weekend

    We had a sudden opportunity to align schedules with our family living apart and decided on a family trip to Hakone. I always check reviews when searching for accommodation, but as expected, there are both good and bad reviews. It really depends on individual preferences, so they may not always be reliable. Honestly, the price was quite high due to the long weekend. However, they provided tea for hydration prevention on our way back, each bottle thoughtfully covered with a bottle sleeve. The food was delicious with beautifully crafted tableware, and the staff's attentiveness and actions felt genuinely heartfelt. The facility was clean, the baths offered various options, and our entire family unanimously agreed it was satisfying. Thank you for your hospitality!

    I had a very relaxing stay.

    Parents' Wedding Anniversary

    A gift for my parents' golden wedding anniversary. My father, who has always been dedicated to work and only cared about having a place to sleep, came back extremely happy. He mentioned being comforted by the staff's attentiveness from the moment he arrived before check-in time until his departure. The meals were delicious, and he enjoyed staying in the onsen for as long as he wanted, which seemed to ease his daily fatigue and body aches. It made us want to use this accommodation ourselves as a couple. Thank you for making it such a memorable occasion!

    The service and meals are excellent, but there are some points to note.

    Stayed in a standard Room. The Ryokan has been renovated, retaining its traditional charm while being well-maintained and clean. Service and the thoughtfully prepared meals were excellent. However, the lighting in the washroom was too dim for women to do makeup or get ready comfortably. Also, unlike many other Facilities nowadays, there was no carry bag provided to take items from the Room to the bathhouse (though some guests seemed to have them; upon inquiry, we found out that it depends on the Room). This inconsistency in amenities felt disappointing. While we enjoyed the bath overall, features like high steps into tubs such as tsubo-yu and a lack of handrails made it challenging for middle-aged and older guests like us (mid-60s), which became a downside of our stay.

    Would love to visit again.

    We stayed as a group of four, including my daughter and sister. Despite the hectic return from America and forgetting to mention my daughter's birthday, the staff noticed it during check-in and surprised us with a celebration. We are truly grateful for this thoughtful gesture. The Onsen was wonderful, but we were especially amazed by the high quality of the cuisine. Every dish reflected the dedication of both the owner and chef, making it feel like dining at a luxury restaurant. As four women traveling together, we all agreed that it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, providing us with an exceptional stay filled with memorable moments. Walking barefoot inside the accommodation added to our comfort as well. It made me proud to be Japanese during this trip—thank you so much! Even in the rain, the shuttle service driver kindly saw us off with great care. We will definitely visit again!

    Great cuisine, excellent baths, and outstanding service.

    I stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. They provided birthday decorations, red rice service, and even a gift. Additionally, my 93-year-old mother-in-law said it was the best Onsen Ryokan she had ever stayed at.

    It became a wonderful memory!

    It was my first visit for an Onsen trip with friends. The meals and staff were excellent, and I was amazed at how comfortable Hakone Yumoto is! It was a truly satisfying trip. I also enjoyed the large public bath and exploring different types of hot springs. Thank you for your hospitality.
