    It was amazing!

    We were very satisfied with the unexpected services such as welcome fruit and drinks in the refrigerator, as well as the comfort of the Room, the open-air bath, and the footbath! It was our first family Onsen trip in a while, and we had a wonderful time. All of the staff were kind, so we felt at ease throughout our stay. This is an Onsen we would definitely like to visit again.

    A cozy Accommodation with great food—you’ll want to come back!

    We arrived a little early, but the Accommodation kindly let us park our car so we could stroll around Sounji Temple and the area in front of Yumoto Station. It was also very helpful to be able to return from the station in a classic Shuttle Service vehicle up to the Accommodation on the hill. At check-in in the lobby, we relaxed with a yuzu honey drink. In our Room, we enjoyed welcome fruit and freshly ground coffee from a De’Longhi machine, and even the cups and glasses were lovely—making it even easier to unwind. The renovated Facility was comfortable and spacious. Our Room with a semi-open-air bath allowed us to enjoy the Onsen as many times as we liked while looking out at fresh spring greenery, and there were plenty of comfortable bath towels, yukata robes, and pajamas provided. Every dish was delicious, including the rice—we ended up eating far too much. If we come to Hakone again, we would definitely like to stay at Kamon once more.

    The hot spring was wonderful.

    This was my second stay. This time I stayed in the Room called “Go.” As always, the staff were wonderfully attentive from welcome to farewell. The food and the hot springs were excellent. The reasons I did not give a perfect score are as follows: When I opened the lid of the miso soup bowl during the meal, there was rice stuck to the inside of the lid. I forgot my medicine at the dining area (this was my fault), but it seemed that a staff member had noticed it (at breakfast they asked, “Did you notice your medicine?”). Since you should have known my Room number, I think it would have been nice if someone had said something to me sooner. Because your service is usually thorough in every detail, these two points were disappointing this time. Other than that, I have nothing to add. I think it is a very good Accommodation.

    It was a truly wonderful accommodation.

    The cuisine, hospitality, Onsen, and Room—everything about this Accommodation was outstanding. No matter where we were in the Accommodation, it was spotless and meticulously maintained down to the smallest details, yet it still felt warm and homey rather than formal. The floors gleamed everywhere, and the furnishings reflected the season. The staff provided attentive service with just the right sense of distance, and we left feeling truly fulfilled. This is the first time an entire family—adults and children alike—has praised an Accommodation so highly. There were many types of Onsen baths, leaving our skin silky smooth. The meals were a delight both to look at and to eat, with generous portions that left us completely satisfied. For breakfast, we could choose from three kinds of fish as well as select an egg dish; even for men it was more than filling enough. We will definitely return. Thank you very much.

    It was wonderful! I’ll definitely come again!

    This was our second visit. Last time was before we got married, but this time we returned as a family, with a child. Even as our life stage has changed, Hanamon’s service remains outstanding. Starting with the Shuttle Service, everyone—from those who welcomed us to those who guided us—showed wonderful hospitality. We also really enjoyed the welcome drink. Perhaps because it had just been renovated, the Room we were shown was very clean and felt luxurious. We had mentioned that we would be traveling with a child, and they naturally had everything prepared: a baby bouncer, a diaper disposal bin, and a chair at the dining area. We felt thoughtful consideration for small children throughout. Every dish was delicious—no complaints at all. Since we told them in advance that this was a celebratory stay, they even decorated with what looked like an illustration of sea bream, and their attention to detail truly touched us. It was also a nice bonus to find plenty of complimentary drinks in the refrigerator. If I had to mention anything at all: the kotatsu was sunken-floor style, and with infants there may be a risk of falling in if they don’t notice the opening. It might be worth considering some way to cover or block it off. Also, while the Onsen itself is certainly not bad, I think cleanliness and a more upscale feel could further improve satisfaction. The sauna temperature also felt on the mild side. There didn’t seem to be anything like a seasonal bath when I visited; having one would make it even better. That said, none of these points bothered us—the hospitality, cuisine, and overall comfort of the Room were exceptional! We’d love to bring my wife’s parents next time as well—we’ve already invited them. We will definitely be back!

    It was comfortable.

    The water was wonderfully soft and left my skin feeling moisturized. The bath area has a variety of tubs, so I could enjoy them and soak for a long time. The herbal tea in the changing room was also delicious (it was a shame it wasn’t available in the morning or at night...). There was a mysterious “socks-only” rule inside the building, but it meant there were no footsteps, and it felt homey and relaxing. Since it was cold when I visited, I also found the gentle warmth of the heated floor in the dining area especially comfortable—something you can really appreciate when wearing socks. The service was excellent! Even in small interactions, I felt genuine kindness and an effort to understand how guests feel. The meals were carefully prepared—even the garnish vegetables were delicious. Thanks to the thoughtful attention from the staff member in charge of service throughout, I could enjoy everything at a relaxed pace. Breakfast was also very creative, and I could tell they truly valued us right up until we checked out. The Room I reserved may not be top-tier by this Accommodation’s ranking, but everything felt modern and spotless. They paid close attention even to air conditioning and room temperature; the futon and pillows were fluffy; amenities were plentiful. After warming up in the Onsen, I slept soundly and felt fully rested. I’d love to visit again.

    It’s surprising to see this listed on IKYU.

    I received a call from the Accommodation before my stay and called back, but the staff’s response and language felt dismissive, so I wanted to cancel. However, I was told that a Cancellation Fee would apply starting 15 days prior, so I decided to stay after all. The Accommodation was clean but quite old. Although various efforts had been made with the baths, everything felt lukewarm, including the sauna. I had been looking forward to the Onsen, so this was very disappointing. The meal was a multi-course kaiseki dinner with many dishes, but unfortunately nothing stood out as particularly delicious. I don’t feel it was worth the price. I had always believed that Accommodations listed on IKYU.com were reliable, so this was extremely disappointing.

    Simply satisfied.

    I stayed at Kanade, and I was completely satisfied with everything—from the pick-up at Yumoto Station to the drop-off back at Yumoto Station. The hospitality, meals, Onsen, Room (which may be a given), amenities, and even the Shuttle Service vehicle were all wonderful. I will definitely come again!

    It became a wonderful memory.

    We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday. The delicious meals, beautiful Accommodation, wide variety of Onsen, open-air baths and footbaths, and many other thoughtful touches made our time truly wonderful. We are deeply grateful to everyone at the Accommodation who helped us during our stay. We’ll keep working hard every day so we can come back and stay again as a family of five.

    If you love eating lots of delicious food, this is the place for you!

    I stayed for one weekday night on a trip with my mother to show my appreciation. Both of us have big appetites, so I chose this Accommodation after reading Reviews and seeing how highly the meals were rated. The portions were more than enough to leave us completely full, and everything was beautifully presented and delicious—both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying. The Onsen also offered a variety of baths, which we really enjoyed. The Shuttle Service to and from Hakone-Yumoto Station had a lovely retro feel, and every staff member was truly pleasant. My mother was especially happy and said, “This was the best Accommodation I’ve ever stayed at.” Thanks to you, I was able to make it a wonderful trip for her. If I had to mention one small thing: I thought it was a great service that all drinks in the Room refrigerator were free, but since we don’t drink alcohol, we couldn’t enjoy the two bottled beers and two canned chu-hi—which was a bit of a shame. We stayed in the most standard Room type, but it was still spacious enough for two adults. Even though it was cold outside, the heating worked well and we were very comfortable. Highly recommended!

    Everything makes you want to come back again.

    Arriving by car From the warm welcome right after we arrived to the attentive service all the way until we drove off after checkout, we were completely satisfied with every aspect of the hospitality. We also enjoyed the Onsen and kaiseki cuisine, had a relaxing time, and would love to stay at this Ryokan again.

    The day after a heav...

    The day after a heavy snowfall, all buses from Hakone-Yumoto Station were suspended, so we could not reach the Accommodation we had reserved. When I searched at the last minute that day, Hakone Kamon came up. It was an Accommodation I had wanted to visit anyway, so I made a Reservation and stayed in a 4th-floor Room with an open-air bath. Even though it was a sudden Reservation, all of the staff were truly pleasant and welcoming, which was a relief. From the warm welcome on arrival to the drinks and amenities in the large public bath, everything was thoughtfully prepared down to the smallest details. The meals included plenty of vegetables, were gentle on the body, perfectly portioned, and absolutely delicious. The Room was also very stylish and elegantly put together. My daughter and I often visit Hakone together, and for us this Accommodation ranked among our top favorites—we couldn’t find a single thing to dislike. Unfortunately, we were told that there would be a water outage across the area starting the next morning, so we had to check out soon after breakfast. Next time, we would love to return and stay longer.

    Thanks to the attentive care and service, and the well-maintained Facility, our whole family was able to relax and enjoy our stay. In particular, thanks to the thoughtful support of the very handsome staff member, our grandchild stayed in a great mood the entire time, which meant the most to us. One small point: there are not many handrails in the large public bath. Because it’s hard to see the shape of the stones under the water, I felt a little nervous getting in at certain spots. That was truly my only concern. We would love to stay again.

    Other than the children’s meals and the shared areas, everything was fine.

    The Room was clean, and the staff were pleasant. The open-air bath in the Room felt great, but I could see cars passing by and worried about whether it might be visible from outside. The meals for adults were very delicious, but my 6-year-old son said his food wasn’t good because items like fried dishes seemed completely cold, which made me feel sorry for him. Since we likely paid about half the adult price, even if it didn’t need to be elaborate, I would have liked warm dishes to be served warm. The large public bath had a very crowded changing area. Are there many day-use guests? It didn’t really feel like a place where you could relax. Overall, perhaps because the building is old and on the smaller side, it feels clean but not spacious. They are trying to provide various services, but as a result it felt a bit cramped. It may have been unavoidable since it was a busy period. The price also felt somewhat high; it wasn’t bad, but my overall satisfaction was limited. You can really tell all the staff are working hard, so I can recommend this place to people who value warmth and hospitality. If you’re only looking for a sleek luxury vibe without that aspect being important to you, this may not be the right fit.

    About the Large Public Bath

    The men’s large public bath washing area felt outdated: 1) The door to the open-air bath was heavy and difficult to open. 2) When the door was opened, cold air came in and the washing area became chilly. 3) The shower hot water was slow to come out. Also, since the large public bath is only available until 8:30 a.m., it was disappointing that we couldn’t bathe after breakfast. However, the quality of the meals and the service were excellent.

    Warm hospitality

    A charming accommodation within walking distance of Yumoto Station. The facility was spotless, and thoughtful touches catering to women were evident throughout. The bottle holder provided at checkout was adorable. The meals were exceptional, with creative use of ingredients that appealed to all ages. However, I felt uneasy about the accommodation after a male staff member responded quite unpleasantly over the phone regarding a question about cancellation charges prior to my stay.

    The renovated Ryokan...

    The renovated Ryokan offers very clean and spacious Rooms, including the bath areas. The design elements in the Room, such as shoji screens and patterns in the washroom, reflect a thoughtful incorporation of family crests, which left a positive impression. I also enjoyed experiencing tatami mats and a sunken kotatsu after a long time. The meals were delicious, with perfect timing for serving each dish. The smiles and hospitality of the female staff throughout the Ryokan were particularly impressive. Although I arrived earlier than my check-in time, the front desk staff handled it efficiently by suggesting nearby souvenir shops where I could shop early. This allowed me to leave comfortably without worrying about parking on the following day—thank you very much. The variety of baths was delightful; next time, I hope to try more of them. If there’s anything to note for improvement: when parking on the lower floors of the parking area, I felt that brighter lighting would be helpful. Additionally, it might be better if some Facility areas not meant for guests' view were kept out of sight. I love Hakone and look forward to staying here again in the future. Keep up the great work!

    Simply the best.

    This was my first visit. I walked from the station to the accommodation, enjoying a stroll along the way. Upon arrival, I was greeted with attentive service from check-in, including a detailed explanation of the room. The room, open-air bath, and large public bath were all impeccably clean and wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious, leaving me extremely satisfied. On departure, I received tea and towels as souvenirs, which added to the exceptional hospitality that impressed me until the very end. I definitely want to come back again!     An unforgettable and wonderful stay

    Beautiful lobby and guest rooms, a tatami-floored hallway where slippers are unnecessary, and thoughtful hospitality in restrooms and various areas created an incredibly comfortable space. I was delighted to have my chosen yukata carefully dressed for me. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were exquisite with refined flavors and perfectly portioned servings (not too much but just enough to enjoy). The attention to detail in the tableware enhanced the dishes even further. I enjoyed plenty of fresh local fish and vegetables, leaving me feeling revitalized. The Onsen had a smooth texture with many varieties available, allowing me to bathe multiple times without getting bored. My family was amazed as their shoulder pain disappeared after just one soak. Experiencing the Onsen amidst winter's chill while enjoying the steam was the ultimate luxury. From start to finish, I felt thoughtful care for women (such as amenities), exceptional service, and it became an unforgettable stay for a lifetime. After checkout, we were kindly taken by a retro bus to Hakone-Yumoto Station—truly grateful!

    For my mother's birthday

    We stayed at the accommodation for one night from January 10, 2026, with four people. The stay was to celebrate my mother's birthday. The staff kindly arranged a celebratory atmosphere during the meal, and everything was beautifully done on the day. My mother was delighted to receive a gift from the accommodation. Both the accommodation and room were clean and had a great ambiance. The staff were very kind and attentive, making our stay wonderful. The bath was spacious, clean, relaxing, and very warming. The meals were plentiful, incredibly delicious, and served at perfect timing. We truly had a relaxing time here. I would love to visit again with my husband next time!

    An Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    A family trip with kids to celebrate a colleague. You can choose amenities, and the drinks in the fridge, including alcohol and juice, are free. The provided snacks are delicious, offering satisfaction comparable to all-inclusive services. The warm service and kind interactions with children were heartwarming. Meals were served in private rooms and were absolutely delicious—completely satisfying. The open-air bath in the Room had an amazing atmosphere. Overall, it has become a place we want to visit again.     With a high rating of 4.72 on IKYU, I decided to stay during the New Year holidays. The bath was supposed to be an Onsen with free-flowing hot spring water, but when I entered the indoor bath, there was a noticeable chlorine smell. Upon checking the details in the changing area, it seemed that only the outdoor tub and private rental open-air baths were free-flowing Onsen. After dinner, I tried the outdoor tub again and found it to be excellent—truly relaxing and enjoyable water. The Room's electricity system required inserting a card like in a Business Hotel. When I returned from the bath, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet which surprised me. However, turning on the ventilation fan completely eliminated it. To avoid this issue again while out for dinner, I left one card inserted to keep the fan running continuously. Dinner included traditional New Year's Osechi dishes which were satisfying. I appreciated their Shuttle Service early in the morning to Yumoto for watching Hakone Ekiden. Overall impression: not bad but nothing particularly outstanding either. Thank you very much!

    The meals are excellent!!

    I frequently visit Hakone and have stayed at most of the famous and luxury Ryokans. This time, I stayed at Hanamon for the first time, on the special floor called "Rokka." The Ryokan is not large, nor does it exude a luxurious or trendy atmosphere. However, it has a warm and traditional charm of an established inn. The Onsen offers several types of baths surrounded by bamboo groves, providing a serene experience. Despite not being a large-scale Ryokan, the spaciousness of both the main bath and open-air bath was impressive. The meals were exceptionally well-prepared with great attention to detail. Both taste and portion size were outstanding, leaving me very satisfied. Personally, I had thought that Kinnotake, Karaku, or Gora Kadan offered some of the best dining experiences in Hakone; however, Hanamon's cuisine was incredibly delicious with generous portions that suited my preferences perfectly. The vegetables, fish, meat—everything including the dashi broth—was delightful. In particular, the simmered rice with golden-eye snapper and miso soup served during dinner were absolutely superb! Please convey my compliments to your head chef. It was an excellent accommodation where one can fully enjoy relaxing Onsen baths and indulge in delicious meals to their heart's content. I will definitely visit again!

    Wonderful Accommodation

    The doorman is the face of the accommodation. I visited with my daughter and my mother, who has difficulty walking, and from the moment we arrived, the doorman ran to assist us with a warm smile, giving me confidence that this was a great accommodation. Not only did he support my mother as she walked with her cane, but he also placed a towel on the floor when she removed her shoes to care for her legs. When we departed, he gently and safely escorted her into the car as well. His kindness brought comfort not only to my mother but also to me as someone who cares for her daily—it was healing just knowing there was someone I could trust completely. The staff members were all incredibly hospitable and provided excellent service. The meals in both the morning and evening were satisfying in taste, presentation, and portion size. The private Onsen in our room was one of our highlights; it had wonderful water quality that allowed us to relax multiple times at ease during our stay. Our family has become big fans of this place. From check-in to check-out, every moment was perfect without any unpleasant experiences—a rarity compared to some accommodations where service declines by checkout time despite an initial good impression at check-in. I am determined to visit again without fail!
