    It was an Accommodation that satisfied us in every way!

    Overall, I was very satisfied. Here are a few suggestions that would have made it even better: - There were mosquitoes, so we lit a mosquito coil in the bedroom, but the smoke spread during the night and woke me up. An electric, odorless type would be better. - The weather was very pleasant and I wanted to let a refreshing breeze into the Room, but when I opened the window it felt completely visible from outside. Sheer lace curtains would be helpful. - Dinner was delicious, but the music playing was modern jazz and the loud trumpet sounds didn’t feel relaxing. A more calming selection would be nicer. - The towel rack by the sink was light and tipped over easily, so a sturdier one would be better. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    This time, I brought my daughter with me.

    I just visited in March, but I had such a wonderful experience that I came back with my daughter. This time there were three of us, so we stayed in the separate annex villa. It was spacious and comfortable even for three people, and the drinks in the refrigerator were free—we enjoyed iced tea, iced coffee, and more. I was a bit worried about slipping in the open-air bath in the Room because it is ceramic, but proper anti-slip measures were in place, so I could use it with peace of mind. Even on our second visit, the tempura was delicious! All of the staff were pleasant and attentive, which made our stay truly comfortable. We will definitely return again. Thank you very much!

    I stayed in a detach...

    I stayed in a detached Room. I use this place often, and it’s great because I can truly relax. The in-Room bath is just the right size, and every time I stay, I use it many times from check-in to check-out. A 12:00 checkout is also a nice touch. The meals are delicious, but the menu hardly changes each time, which is always a bit disappointing.

    It was a flawless accommodation.

    Everything was excellent. The Room bath was a free-flowing hot spring, which felt wonderfully luxurious. I used it many times. I also really enjoyed the refined, thoughtfully pared-down cuisine. I mistakenly thought from the website that loungewear would be provided, so I arrived empty-handed. As a result, I ended up spending the whole time in a yukata. Since there is a fair amount of walking around the property and to the dining area, wearing an unfamiliar yukata became uncomfortable. Something like samue-style loungewear would have been nice—it would also suit the atmosphere. It felt comfortable—neither too casual nor overly luxurious. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Feel good.

    The staff were wonderful, and I had a very pleasant stay. The meals were delicious; although I usually don’t eat much, I truly enjoyed them. I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you for such a lovely time.

    The meals were excellent. Both the kaiseki-style tea dinner and breakfast—each thoughtfully prepared across the first and second trays—were delicious. The staff’s service was also very attentive, allowing us to enjoy a truly relaxing stay.

    It was amazing!

    This was our third stay, and our first in about three years—and it truly was the best yet! The winery tour was explained in a very thoughtful and engaging way, and we were able to enjoy tastings of many different wines. It was a wonderful experience. The Room was spacious and kept very clean, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was large enough for two people to relax comfortably. The large public bath was also excellent. The lounge had wine and a coffee machine available to enjoy freely, and near the entrance to the large public bath there were also a beer server and ice cream—everything you could ask for. Above all, we were deeply comforted by the hospitality of all the staff and had a truly enjoyable time. In particular, the attendant who assisted us at dinner helped us choose wine pairings, and through our conversations during the meal made dinner even more enjoyable. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    Thank you for having us again after a long time. There have been various updates, and it made for a very comfortable trip. Enjoying the Onsen with the mineral quality I love, relaxing in the lounge, and savoring the meals. I really liked the wine I had in the lounge and was able to buy some as a souvenir. What left the strongest impression this time was dinner. Thanks to Mr./Ms. Y, we were able to enjoy a delicious meal and spend a truly wonderful time—perhaps we even interrupted their work. Starting with Mr./Ms. Y, all of the staff provided such pleasant service that we found ourselves saying, “It’s a bit far, but it really is worth it.” It was disappointing that the bento box available for pickup at checkout was no longer offered. The bento enjoyed while looking at Mt. Fuji was amazing. We will be back again. Thank you very much.

    An Unforgettable Accommodation

    Dear Manager and Staff, Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. The gentle hot spring water and the beautiful kaiseki meal were truly nourishing, both physically and mentally, after a tiring stretch of work. Your professional hospitality, the lovely garden, and the songs of wild birds were deeply soothing, making our stay thoroughly satisfying. The library was also a relaxing space—I only wished we could have stayed one more night. When we were leaving, you kindly explained an unexpected issue that occurred inside the property, and we were even given a souvenir, which was far more than we deserved. We would love to visit again.     We had another wonderful stay.

    I have stayed here many times, and each visit comes with small updates that make the property even more comfortable and wonderful, which always makes me want to return. The Onsen and the meals were just as expected—excellent as always! I was especially happy to see a new beer server added for after a bath, though it might also be nice to have one in the library. It was also great to have a coffee machine in the Room. That said, if you’re aiming for a truly luxurious experience, grinding your own beans and brewing it yourself could be just as nice. Coffee on the terrace while watching the last of the cherry blossoms fall was exceptional. I’m looking forward to seeing what improvements come next. Thank you again—I’ll be back.

    A cozy Accommodation you’ll want to visit again

    For the past five years, I’ve been visiting Accommodations in the Kanto area about once a month with my mother-in-law, and this Accommodation offered top-level comfort from arrival to departure. We were satisfied with the meals and the Onsen, but what stood out most was the staff’s service. After I mentioned in advance that my mother-in-law has some difficulty walking, they thoughtfully considered everything—from the Room location to Shuttle Service for meals—and we felt their attentiveness in many situations from every staff member. The price is not cheap, but it’s an outstanding Accommodation that delivers satisfaction beyond what you pay.

    A view you won’t find anywhere else

    We stayed in one of the only two Japanese-Western style Rooms facing the koi pond. The veranda connects directly to the pond, and even the open-air bath in the Room looks out over it. I’ve rarely seen such a luxurious view. The well-fed koi and ducks were also adorable. Although it’s not a large property, it has a library, lounge, and large public bath—and all of them are excellent. Unlimited beer and wine is included, and the service is outstanding. The meals were also perfect: a tea-ceremony-style kaiseki served at a traditional old-house restaurant. This Room was slightly pricey, but absolutely worth it. Other Rooms with open-air baths are quite reasonably priced as well, so they seem like great value. We also enjoyed plenty of winery tastings—enough to get tipsy—and the hospitality was flawless. There are almost no downsides, but if I had to mention something: these days I’d like to have a sofa in the Room, and some areas are starting to show their age. I’d love to return, so I’m looking forward to future renovations. Highly recommended.

    I first stayed here ...

    I first stayed here last December and was very satisfied, so I came back again. The staff are truly hospitable and attentive. Also, the meals at this Ryokan are delicious, and I was looking forward to them again this time. The open-air bath in our Room was just the right size, and the water temperature was perfect. During our stay, I enjoyed it many times and felt completely relaxed. Next time, I plan to visit again before the end of the year.

    I usually visit in autumn, but this time I came in spring hoping to see the blossoms. When I mentioned at dinner that it was a shame we couldn’t see the peach flowers, a kind staff member explained that they bloomed a little earlier than usual this year, and that the blossoms are picked so they won’t affect the fruit. It was a small exchange, but her sincerity really came through. The hot springs and the morning and evening meals have been standardized into set menus, yet everything feels refined—there’s now a reassuring sense of consistency. The library selection is also wonderful. Once again, I left Zabo feeling truly satisfied.

    A Relaxing Time

    I have stayed at many carefully curated Ryokan, and Zabo was exceptional. From check-in, the staff’s warm smiles and attentive explanations made a wonderful impression. Flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the property and were a delight to see. The Room had calming tones, and the bath was at just the right temperature, so I could truly relax. I used the open-air bath early in the morning; there were no fallen leaves floating, it was spotless and well maintained, and it felt great. What I looked forward to most was the tea kaiseki course. It was an authentic tea-ceremony-style meal with delicate flavors enhanced by dashi—truly outstanding cuisine. Next time, I would love to enjoy the tea kaiseki at the counter while chatting with the head chef. I’m so glad I found Zabo! Thank you very much.

    To see peach and cherry blossoms… at the long-admired Accommodation, Zabo.

    I’d been planning this since last year because I wanted to see the peach blossoms in Yamanashi. Since it was a special trip, I made a Reservation at Zabo. I really wanted to stay in the main building’s Japanese-Western style Room, but the blooming season is hard to predict—and if you don’t book well in advance, you can’t get this type of Room. This year the blossoms came early, and we were able to see them at the perfect time. From the terrace of our Room overlooking the garden, we enjoyed feeding the koi and ducks in the pond. The open-air bath also had an incredible view. The tea kaiseki meal was high quality, and the dashi paired wonderfully with Maruki’s wine. The portion size was just right. We were also able to join the Accommodation activity winery tour right after check-in and taste seven delicious wines. On the spacious second-floor library, coffee and tea are available during the day, and wine is served at night—I ended up going there many times. It was an Accommodation where you can truly sit back and forget everyday life—exactly as its name suggests. All of the staff were kind and provided wonderful service. Thank you very much. I’d love to visit again in another season.

    All staff were wonde...

    All staff were wonderful. Thank you for letting us relax from the 14:00 check-in to the 12:00 check-out in a Room with an open-air bath. It’s an excellent Accommodation, but a few things stood out: it was disappointing that there were no bathrobes despite having an open-air bath in the Room. Also, for a luxury Accommodation, the TV felt small. The coffee machine in the Room is great, but it seems a shame that the cups are paper cups. Overall, this is a very satisfying Accommodation including the Onsen and meals. The library area would likely be especially enjoyable for wine lovers (I don’t drink, so I missed out).

    Revisited after 11 years, and it had evolved wonderfully.

    We stayed in the detached villa “Asosuho” with an open-air Onsen. After check-in, while being shown to our Room, I mentioned that it had been a while since our last visit, and the staff member checked their notes and told us, “You stayed here in July 11 years ago.” It was already a highly regarded Accommodation back then, and the beautifully maintained garden was just as wonderful as we remembered. In addition, the new detached villas that were not there at the time, along with the spacious, quiet, and comfortable library lounge and other Facility offerings, have evolved into something even more impressive. Not only the Facility but also the service and dining that made our stay feel truly luxurious were outstanding. The Maruki Winery tour we joined was especially enjoyable—the Shuttle Service staff personally guided us with great care. We visited to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday, and they prepared a purple celebratory vest for her, which became a very special memory. The beer server after the Onsen, ice popsicles, delicious meals thoughtfully presented with attention to seasonality and appearance, the warm hospitality of all staff members, and the clean free-flowing Onsen—our whole family was satisfied in every way and genuinely felt we would like to return. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay, the first in about two years, and I was surprised (in a good way) when the staff welcomed me back—it really felt like returning to a familiar place. This time I joined not only the wine tour but also the night-view tour. The guide’s lively talk was great fun, and feeding the carp and ducks was enjoyable too. The open-air bath in the Room is spacious, and the hot spring water is wonderful—my skin felt so smooth. I enjoyed it many times right up until check-out. I also loved this Room’s size and layout; it was very easy to use. The TV is a bit small by today’s standards, but that’s part of its charm. The dining area has an old folk-house style, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The library lounge is roomy and relaxing, with as much wine, Calpis, and Japanese black tea as you like. I also enjoyed the large public bath almost privately; after bathing there’s draft beer from a beer server, plus ice cream as well. Best of all: 2:00 pm check-in and 12:00 pm check-out—I could truly relax and enjoy my stay at a leisurely pace. The amenities feel a little sparse (last time there was also a mini amenity set), but I’m happy you can take home the cute drawstring pouch, so it balances out for me. In any case, this is definitely one of my favorite Ryokan—one that makes me want to come back again.

    We stayed in a detached Room and requested a drink pairing with dinner. Since the Room had an open-air bath, we enjoyed it many times. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and the surroundings were quiet, so we could truly relax. In the lounge on the second floor of the main building, there were wine, coffee, and more. In the lounge in front of the large public bath, there was a beer server, coffee, and more—we helped ourselves many times. Dinner was Japanese cuisine with careful craftsmanship throughout. Breakfast was also delicious and impressive, but it was such a generous portion that we couldn’t finish it all. If we hadn’t been driving, we would have loved to enjoy our meal with drinks as well. On our way home, we also received Maruki Winery wine as a souvenir—overall it was a very satisfying trip. We had to check out early due to our schedule, but we wished we could have stayed longer; we would love to stay for about two nights.

    First Visit to the Fuefuki River

    We stayed to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We used the Accommodation’s Shuttle Service from the nearest station. The staff member in charge was extremely courteous, which immediately raised our expectations. We were warmly welcomed by everyone in stylish uniforms, and S assisted us. S was very friendly without being overly casual, and provided genuinely pleasant service. S quickly noticed that my mother has some difficulty walking and discreetly told us—out of her sight (and hearing)—during the Room introduction: “The dining area is a bit far, so if moving around feels difficult, please let us know anytime.” It was the first time we had received such thoughtful consideration, and it made me very happy. After that, we soaked right away in the large public Onsen bath (the water suited me perfectly—I could bathe again and again without feeling unwell), enjoyed beer and drinks afterward, relaxed in the library, and looked around the property—before we knew it, it was time for dinner. Right on schedule, S came to pick us up and guided us to the dining venue. Dinner was our first tea-style kaiseki course. Keeping pace with the head chef’s beautifully handwritten menu card as-is, one delicate and delicious dish after another arrived—both visually stunning and wonderful in taste. S’s explanations were thorough, our conversations between courses were enjoyable, and it all made the meal even more memorable. One moment that especially stayed with me: when the final dessert arrived with “Happy Birthday” written on it but my mother didn’t notice for quite a while—and when she finally realized after S gently pointed it out—the three of us looked at each other and burst into laughter. It’s an unforgettable memory. Just being able to spend that time there made us feel glad we chose Zabo. After dinner we tried to go back into the large public Onsen bath again but it was being cleaned. While we waited, someone said “Thank you for waiting,” which left a great impression—it showed their commitment to cleanliness (and true hospitality). The flowers throughout the building create a lovely atmosphere as well. In front of the detached guest Room where we stayed, you can feed koi fish. There was also one duck (maybe there are more?) that came by twice that day—and greeted us again in the morning (with quite a nice call). We also joined a night-view tour and enjoyed beautiful scenery at night. After returning to our Room, we relaxed with beer and snacks. Breakfast the next morning was delicious too; we enjoyed our private Onsen bath in the Room as well—and checkout came far too quickly. On our Shuttle Service ride back to the station, we heard about plans for future operations that sound very promising (we’re really looking forward to them). We would love to visit again in another season. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    An accommodation that will make you want to plan your next stay.

    This was my first visit. With such high Review ratings, this Accommodation had been on my mind for a long time, and I was finally able to stay here. They provide Shuttle Service not only to the nearest station, but also for a night-view tour, visits to nearby temples, and even a winery tour. They are very knowledgeable about the area, so it felt like a guided tour. The Onsen water was wonderfully soft and soothing, and I enjoyed it many times, including the bath in my Room. The meals were delightful as well—seasonal ingredients with beautiful tableware and thoughtful presentation. The amago trout in particular was exceptional. All of the staff were polite, kind, and welcoming. Thank you very much for everything. On the way home, I kept thinking about when I could come back next.

    Couples’ Trip

    This was our first stay here as a couple. We usually stay in Accommodations in Hakone and Izu, but this time we stayed at an Accommodation in Yamanashi for the first time in a while. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and we were especially impressed by how delicious the food was. We would love to return again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    It was a very fulfilling stay. I enjoyed the winery tour and the night tour, but I was especially impressed with my first tea kaiseki meal. I would love to return and enjoy the seasonal cuisine throughout the year. The Accommodation staff were also highly professional, which I appreciated.

    It was a wonderful A...

    It was a wonderful Accommodation. The hospitality, meals, and Onsen were outstanding. I’ve enjoyed many kaiseki meals over the years, but this was the first Accommodation where they provided an explanation about kaiseki itself. There was so much I didn’t know, and it was truly educational (lol). The portion sizes were just right, and even my elderly mother—who usually leaves some of her dinner and breakfast—finished almost everything. Above all, the staff’s service was excellent. Thank you very much for supporting my mother with her bad knees. However, I was very disappointed that there were no alcoholic beverages in the refrigerator in our detached Room with an open-air bath. After a bath, I’d like to enjoy a drink regardless of whether it’s after using the large public bath or the bath in the Room. Even so, it really was a great Accommodation. Thank you very much. If I have the chance, I would like to visit again.

    That’s great!

    The Room was spacious and clean, and the amenities were well provided. There were plenty of towels prepared so we could enjoy lots of baths, which was very helpful. We were worried about insects, but none appeared at night, so we were glad we could use the outdoor bath even in the evening. Everything was thoroughly cleaned, and the staff’s guidance was polite and reassuring. The meals were delicious! The portions were very generous, and we were fully satisfied! They also explained many things to us, making it a great experience. Thank you very much!

    Family Trip

    This was my first stay, and I was amazed at how wonderful the Onsen water quality was. Even while soaking, I could feel my skin becoming smooth. I also truly enjoyed the tea-style kaiseki dinner. With a winery nearby as well, this is an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality during our stay.

    This is an excellent accommodation.

    My 92-year-old mother and we, a couple nearing 70, keep coming back. All the staff are wonderful—always pleasant, and they make our stay truly comfortable. The draft beer server in the post-bath lounge is my husband’s favorite. In the library free space, we’re happy to enjoy several kinds of delicious Maruki wine. The free-flowing Onsen from the source is a strongly alkaline spring that clings to your skin—more than just “smooth,” it feels silky. Even the shower water leaves your hair smooth. It’s an Onsen you’ll want to soak in again and again. The amenities and towels were excellent as well. Above all, the meals are outstanding. They generously serve high-quality ingredients without holding back. If I had to mention one inconvenience, the path to the dining area in the evening can be tough for older guests, but when we made a Reservation, they kindly took us there by cart, which was a big help. This is truly our favorite Accommodation.
