    Tucked away in a tru...

    Tucked away in a true hidden retreat, the rooms offer an amazing view that is almost entirely ocean. The open-air bath in the room is just the right size, and the Onsen temperature is perfect. Every dish of the creative dinner course was delicious, with generous portions. The homemade tofu and dried horse mackerel at breakfast were outstanding.

    The sulfur hot spring offers an abundant flow of water, making for a truly satisfying experience.

    We stayed in the Tsuki maisonette with four adults, but the Room felt a bit small, and we regretted not booking two Umi Rooms instead. We strongly hope you will upload photos of the spiral staircase in the Room. Some guests may find it scary even if they have no issues with their legs or back. Not recommended for anyone who is drunk. The bath was very enjoyable: when no one had used it for a while, yunohana (mineral deposits) floated up, which we really liked. We would have been even more satisfied if the tub were a little larger. The large public bath required going down steep stairs like a mountain path, which felt scary in the rain or at night. There was only one wash bucket in the bath area, making it difficult to rinse off when other guests are present. Only four bottles of mineral water were provided in the Room (one per person), while drinking water was available freely at the large public bath. In the Room refrigerator, for four adults there were three 350 ml cans of beer plus one bottle each of Calpis and tea—all charged separately. However, there were no drinks or ice sold at any shop on site, and there wasn’t even a vending machine, so unless you bring your own you may not have enough to drink. For dinner we chose the seafood-upgrade course. It is basically Japanese-style French cuisine; instead of sashimi it comes as seasoned carpaccio, so anyone expecting traditional sashimi may want to eat a hearty seafood rice bowl for lunch beforehand. The mizuna and steamed chicken capellini with lemon sauce was good; steamed abalone came with vichyssoise sauce; and although small, the grilled spiny lobster had an excellent sauce as well. Other dishes included smoked Nagoya Cochin chicken, and seared golden eye snapper rice to finish. Overall portion sizes felt smaller than other Ryokan in Izu at this price range.

    The hospitality is outstanding!!

    Thank you for taking care of us during our summer vacation. Because my husband’s back was not in good condition, you kindly prepared an extra chair for him, and we truly appreciated your thoughtfulness. The creative cuisine was delicious—especially the abalone dish, which was outstanding. The Room was clean, and the Onsen temperature was just right. It was very quiet and relaxing. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

    Thank you again for your warm hospitality. The in-Room bath was quite hot last time, but this time the water temperature was just right. Personally, I preferred the Japanese-style kaiseki meal I had on my previous visit. I will visit again.

    It was indeed a private annex with its own natural hot spring source.

    With the detached Rooms lined up, it was very quiet, and I could enjoy the hot spring source in my Room—truly living up to its reputation. The Facilities and amenities were still new and had a Hotel-like feel, making them comfortable to use. If I have another chance to stay at a reasonable price, I’d love to return.

    The free-flowing natural hot spring bath was excellent.

    This was my first stay. The view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and spend time at ease in the Room. The free-flowing hot spring bath fed directly from the source was just the right size, and the water temperature was perfect. I fully enjoyed the Onsen, soaking in it and relaxing in the massage chair. Each dish was beautifully presented and a delight to look at; the portions were generous, and everything was delicious. The white rice at breakfast was especially good, and the tofu was soft, creamy, and delicious as well. It was a quick one-night, two-day stay, but I was very satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals. Thank you for providing Shuttle Service to the station.

    Enjoy heartfelt hospitality and exquisite cuisine, with hopes for even further improvements

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The Room, the Onsen, and the overall atmosphere of the property were wonderful, allowing us to relax and enjoy a leisurely stay. The staff’s service was also extremely courteous and pleasant, and our overall satisfaction was very high. The hospitality was so excellent it felt like a perfect score, and we were able to spend our time in great comfort. On the other hand, in hopes that this Accommodation will become even better in the future, I would like to share a few points I noticed. The lighting in the Room we stayed in occasionally flickered, so it may be worth inspecting. Also, while we truly appreciated having the dishes explained to us, there were moments when the explanation felt a bit fast or partially incomplete. If each dish came with written notes or an expanded menu with additional details, it would be easier to understand and would make the dining experience even more enjoyable. That said, overall it was a highly satisfying stay. We would love to return if we have another opportunity. Thank you very much.

    The relaxing Onsen was wonderful.

    I was able to relax and enjoy some quiet adult time in the private open-air bath with its distinctive sulfur scent. This was my second stay, and I’m already a repeat guest. The kind service and hospitality left my elderly mother very satisfied as well. It wasn’t abalone in cream sauce but grilled live abalone, and we were very happy with it. The seasonal menu also seems thoughtfully arranged. Next time, I’d like to try the “Kukai” course. The weather was perfectly clear, and the ocean right in front of us was beautiful.

    Perfectly comfortable in every way

    It was my first visit, and I was impressed by how perfectly comfortable everything felt. The Room size, views, and amenities. The meal portions, selection, and timing. The ocean view from the in-room bath was also outstanding. Above all, the staff were wonderful. Only beautiful memories remain. A truly wonderful Accommodation—I hope many people will come and stay here.

    Despite various issues, we were satisfied with our stay.

    It seems the Room we were initially assigned just wasn’t a good fit, and we ran into several issues. First, when my wife opened the shower room door, a centipede fell on her and stung her finger. The lock hardware on that door also broke, and the TV had no sound. Overall, it felt as if the Room was somehow rejecting us. The staff handled everything very courteously, moved us to another Room, and after that we were able to spend two comfortable nights. The meals used excellent ingredients and were prepared deliciously, so we were very satisfied. However, on the first night there was a long gap between dishes; by the time we were waiting for the next course, we ended up feeling full and couldn’t finish everything. On the second night the menu was different. The number of dishes and overall volume felt about the same as the first night, but they were served at perfect intervals with a great pace, so we were able to finish everything on day two. This was a repeat stay for us, but it was our first time ever finishing dinner. The in-Room Onsen bath was extremely comfortable with just the right temperature. Overall, it was a satisfying stay.

    Completely satisfied

    We stayed here as a couple. The meals, the bath, and the staff were all five-star. The food was carefully prepared and very satisfying in both quality and quantity. That said, we would have liked an egg at breakfast. It was a wonderful Accommodation.

    The meals were delicious.

    This was our first stay. The ocean view from the terrace was wonderful, and the view from the open-air bath in our room was also beautiful. The Onsen temperature was just right, and we were able to relax and enjoy it. Compared with other Onsens, there were a lot of mineral deposits in the water, so we were surprised at first. The meals featured plenty of fresh seafood, and everything was delicious. The staff kindly explained each dish in detail. As our wedding anniversary was coming up soon, thank you for preparing a lovely dessert for us.

    I’ll definitely stay here again.

    The Room bath was incredibly relaxing. It was free-flowing hot spring water with a faint sulfur scent, and the water temperature was just right. Because it’s on higher ground, we didn’t have to worry about being seen from outside, and we fully enjoyed the view from the Room. The food was delicious as well. Breakfast was especially good. Dinner was tasty too, but considering the price, the contents were a bit disappointing. The Room layout was easy to use and thoughtfully designed down to the details. The towels and bathrobes were also practical and comfortable to use. One downside was that when going from the Room to the dining area, we wore the provided geta sandals, but they were difficult to walk in. With stairs and gravel paths, something easier to walk in would be appreciated.

    The view is amazing.

    The view from the Room was amazing. There was plenty of mineral sediment in the open-air bath in the guest room. The meals felt a little too Western-style for me in my 60s. It was nice to have plenty of loungewear and bath towels to change into. Having a ReFa hair dryer was very helpful. It was also great that I could drink as much water as I wanted.

    The hot spring source was excellent.

    This was my first stay on a golf trip. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source and was excellent. The meals were elaborate, creative dishes. I don’t eat much, so I was full, but I still wished there had been some sashimi. They did use luxurious ingredients such as abalone and sea urchin, though. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The open-air bath down the stairs after a short walk from the Room felt a bit too dark at night and was scary. In the daytime, you might be able to see the ocean. All of the staff were pleasant, and I was impressed by how well trained they were.

    A Private Annex Accommodation with a Natural Hot Spring Source: Tsuki

    Thank you for hosting us for one night. The hot stone sauna was small and not very good. The open-air bath in the Room was pleasant, but the shared open-air bath required going down 40 stone steps, so I took a look but did not feel like using it. Since the Room is a detached unit, if it rains there is no roof on the way; an umbrella was provided, but I found it inconvenient. It may be difficult during seasons with many insects. I cannot recommend this property to guests with children. Dinner was delicious, but since there was no call bell, service did not seem very smooth in terms of timing. Breakfast included many dishes made with soybeans.

    An Accommodation offering spiritual-style healing and inspiration

    It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. I could fall asleep under the moonlight streaming through the skylight, and relax with a great sense of openness in the Onsen while watching the sunrise over the sea—it was a moving, deeply soothing experience that felt almost spiritual. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Both on arrival and departure, a staff member provided Shuttle Service between the station and the Accommodation with safe driving. On the train home, I happened to run into a well-known person who greeted me warmly, but I was overwhelmed by their presence. After being healed at this Onsen Accommodation and heading home still feeling that presence, I once again thought what a wonderful trip it had been. Thank you very much.

    For detached guest rooms, we recommend “Ocean Terrace Umi.”

    This time I stayed in the detached Room “Maisonette Tsuki,” but going up and down the spiral staircase was quite frequent, so I found it inconvenient. If you are unsure which Room to choose, I recommend “Ocean Terrace Umi.” There is no need to move between floors, and it seems you can enjoy a full ocean view from the bath in the Room, so I think that would be a better choice. The food was extremely delicious. Since there were many dishes and generous portions, I don’t think there is any need to order additional optional dishes. In any case, this was my first stay here and overall it was reasonably satisfying. If asked whether I would go again, I would say, “I think I’ll go again someday.”

    About a week before ...

    About a week before our anniversary, we suddenly decided to visit an Onsen, and we were able to make a last-minute Reservation and stay here. Although it was a special last-minute rate, the food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. The names the head chef gave to each dish were fun and memorable. The Facility is showing its age, but it was kept very clean, and the open-air bath in our Room had a great view with the perfect temperature. Not limited to this Facility, humidifiers are helpful in winter, but when you need to refill them and remove the tank, many places are a bit disappointing. I understand it must be difficult to clean that thoroughly, though. Still, this is a place we would like to stay again.

    First time.

    There was no greeting, and no one was at the front desk, so check-in took a long time. I stay at many places, but this was a first for me. Perhaps because the Room has been renovated, dust was noticeable in many areas. The meals seemed tasty for younger guests, but they were not to our liking as older guests. It may be a matter of preference, but it was a bit disappointing. I would like to see more thorough customer service and cleaning.

    The Onsen water in the in-room open-air bath is excellent. It leaves your skin silky smooth, and the view is amazing. It was a shame that the large public bath did not have a washing area. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

    I was very satisfied.

    The Onsen had gentle water, and it helped relieve my fatigue. The meals were the right portion size, and the chef’s sense and creativity were wonderful—I was very satisfied.     Completely satisfied with everything—dinner, breakfast, the private room, and the overall space!

    The two-story Room was very spacious. The first floor in particular felt open and comfortable, with a shower room, a bathtub, and a closet room with a massage chair. The meals were also delicious, and it was especially nice to be able to enjoy dining in private rooms for all guests. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay again.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    The ocean view from the Room was stunning, and both the in-room open-air bath and the large public bath were just the right size. The entire Accommodation was spotless and beautifully maintained. The sulfur scent made the baths incredibly relaxing. And the meals—both dinner and breakfast—were unbelievably delicious and truly unforgettable! I added a small whole simmered splendid alfonsino, but it was so large I was surprised. I was also deeply impressed that I could enjoy such delicious alfonsino at this price. Although an unexpected personal issue came up during my stay, your quick and courteous support made it a wonderful trip with great memories. Thank you very much. Your hospitality and attentiveness were excellent. I would love to stay again!

    A Hidden Accommodation in Izu

    Each Room is a private cottage with a terrace overlooking the ocean and an open-air bath available 24 hours a day. The water temperature was just right, and it was very relaxing. The meals were served in a traditional Japanese kaiseki style with subtle Japanese-Western touches, and everything was delicious. The staff were also excellent, and I felt everything was perfect. This is one Accommodation I would love to visit again.
