    Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    This was my first stay, and I was truly impressed by what a wonderful Hotel it is! The building itself may be older, but it is beautifully maintained, and I had a very comfortable stay. The meals were absolutely delicious, and I could really feel the care put into each dish. The staff were excellent, the Onsen was very relaxing, and my trip with my mother became a truly special experience. I sincerely appreciate the effort to provide such high quality at a reasonable price. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    A Cozy Accommodation

    We’ve been staying here since our children were little. This was our first visit since the renovation, and the Room was very comfortable. The starry sky is simply beautiful, and I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway. The restaurant staff member and the person who helped connect a game console in our Room were truly outstanding—I’m very sorry I can’t remember their names. If I had to mention anything, it would be the wine price range and the cleanliness of the bathroom. I hope this Hotel continues to improve even further.

    Family Trip to Kiyosato

    We stayed here for a family ski trip. Since we had children, we appreciated the quiet room at the end of the hallway. The view from the window was beautiful, with mountains, forests, and a pond showcasing Kiyosato's scenery. Even with the air conditioning on, the room felt cold due to its spaciousness. Additionally, the stone sink area and toilet floors were chilly in winter. There were two toilets; we mainly used the one in our room. The jacuzzi in our private bathroom was fun, and our kids enjoyed it very much. Having bathrobes was convenient, and both adult and children's pajamas being separate sets were excellent. The raised tatami area allowed us to let our kids sleep safely on futons while adults could rest comfortably on beds. The meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The course meal for elementary school-aged children was impressively sophisticated. Service timing was perfect, with staff frequently refilling water during both breakfast and dinner (Western-style). The public bath was average but lacked hair caps—only combs were available unless you brought your own from your room. Towels also needed to be brought from your room; however, there was a towel warmer in-room which helped dry them. The stargazing session included detailed explanations—it’s a rare opportunity that makes us want to return during another season to experience it again! Reservations are made based on check-in order; if you want an earlier session time slot, be mindful of when you check-in. While there were many families with children making it harder to focus fully during stargazing sessions, this is understandable. The 24-hour self-checkout shop was very convenient. We’d love to stay again during another season! Thank you very much!

    Moderately good

    Although there was no luggage-carrying service at check-in, the service during meals was excellent. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the Japanese kaiseki meal due to gastroenteritis, but they kindly provided rice porridge, which was very helpful. The facility is not too large and is relatively close to the restaurant and public bath. It's also a short drive to Sun Meadows Ski Resort, which has well-equipped rental facilities and restaurants. I would love to stay here again. The access from the nearby IC is convenient as it doesn't involve too many mountain roads.

    A Hotel Perfect for Enjoying Solo Travel

    I visited for a solo trip to Kiyosato. If the weather is good, you can enjoy stunning views of Mt. Fuji, the sunrise, and the distant city lights from your room. The stargazing event held at night and the beautiful melodies of a rare music box in the lobby made my stay relaxing and enjoyable without any chance of boredom. This hotel offers a very comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant staff were attentive, allowing me to enjoy my meals at ease even as a solo traveler. The stargazing event was also an invaluable experience with clear and detailed explanations—thank you to the instructor for guiding us despite the cold weather. It’s such a wonderful hotel that I’d love to visit again in another season. I didn’t use the Onsen this time, so I gave it three stars instead. However, the renovated bathroom in my room was clean and well-maintained.

    A Wonderful Stay

    This time, we planned a 3-day, 2-night trip to enjoy Mount Fuji at Kiyosato Highlands and Lake Kawaguchi. For the first night, we made a reservation at the highly-rated Kiyosato Highlands Hotel. We enjoyed the staff's excellent service, spacious and well-cleaned room, a delightful French dinner after a long time, and Japanese porridge for breakfast the next morning. From our room, the view of Mount Fuji beyond the mountain range was breathtaking. In the open-air bath, we met someone who has been a regular visitor for 10 years; during dinner, our neighboring table guests mentioned it was their fifth year visiting—both comments were very convincing. Being early winter, it was incredibly quiet and made for an exceptional stay.

    Fairly satisfied

    A one-night stay on a weekday in mid-November. Stayed in a spacious, newly renovated room with a view of Mount Fuji right in front. The meals were not buffet-style, which is rare these days for an accommodation. Chose Japanese cuisine for both breakfast and dinner, and even though it was the cheaper course, dinner included chestnut rice, which was satisfying. The next day I moved to another hotel with buffet-style meals for both breakfast and dinner but felt it would have been better to stay here another night and try Western cuisine instead. Surprised by the number of guests; it seems this accommodation is well-known among many people. However, there weren’t many young visitors—perhaps most guests remember the golden era of Kiyosato? The new "Kiyosato Terrace" wasn’t open (possibly due to concerns about bears). It was disappointing not being able to take long walks around the area. They plan to gradually renovate each room after the New Year; I sincerely hope that prices won’t increase as a result.

    The aromatherapy massage was excellent.

    I found this Hotel to be very cost-effective. During stargazing, they show you the stars if the weather is good. After reserving an aromatherapy massage, I felt like all my usual swelling was gone, and my legs felt lighter. The treatment is done very carefully. There is also a sauna and a cold bath, making for a fulfilling stay.

    I returned this year...

    I returned this year during the same period as last year because I appreciated the attentive service during meals and the serene atmosphere. Amidst the quiet autumn forest, you can enjoy a clear view of Mt. Yatsugatake over the garden pond—a picture-perfect scene. Beautifully plated dishes are served with care, and all staff members are warm and welcoming. It was a wonderful holiday.

    The hotel environmen...

    The hotel environment and the restaurant staff were pleasant, but the person standing next to the front desk did not seem professional as a Hotel staff member. Despite me holding a cane and struggling with my carry-on bag, they made no effort to assist and just stood there. Additionally, I got burned by the warm hanger in the bathroom, and when I suggested adding a warning sign, their response was dismissive.

    Perfect.

    The front desk service, Room, and meals were all very satisfying. I expected the building to be old, but it was actually very clean. I was happy to see a small view of Mt. Fuji from the Room. I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    The elevator doors closed too quickly, causing me to get caught and experience pain. It was dangerous as there were children riding as well.

    I felt very relaxed!

    It was very quiet, surrounded by lots of greenery, and I was able to relax completely. During the Reservation process, there was some miscommunication regarding food allergies, but once contact was established smoothly, the attentive service made me very grateful. I am looking forward to the next opportunity.

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. It was my first visit in 25 years. The cool and pleasant atmosphere was wonderful, and above all, I deeply appreciate the excellent hospitality of the Hotel staff. Thank you very much. I look forward to staying again next year.

    A Comfortable Stay

    The room was clean and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast featured menus that highlighted ingredients from Yamanashi, and they were absolutely delicious. The warm hospitality of the staff at the shuttle service, restaurant, and other facilities was also delightful. At night, we enjoyed a stargazing event where we could see the Milky Way and even observe Saturn's rings through the observatory telescope—it was truly exciting. Thank you for providing such a pleasant experience!

    This is my third stay. My last visit was before COVID-19. The entire accommodation has become cleaner, and I enjoyed the stargazing event thanks to the favorable weather. I felt a bit sad seeing the desolate state of Kiyosato Station.

    Below expectations

    This was my third visit in seven years, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The meals were from the special course menu; however, the Japanese cuisine lacked the quality of proper kaiseki dishes in both ingredients and preparation. As for the Western cuisine, it seemed an extra step was added to standard courses by incorporating unconventional ingredients into sauces, which ended up diminishing the flavors. It might be better to have qualified personnel conduct taste tests for meals. Drink orders during meals were handled via mobile ordering, which also lowered the service quality. I recall a memorable piano live performance during or after dinner on a previous visit (though I can't remember if it was two visits ago or last time). While there was a welcome upon arrival, there was no escort to our room nor assistance at departure—something I believe existed on my previous stay. The front garden is one of this Hotel's highlights; however, it seemed poorly maintained this time. Additionally, rubber sheets placed on walkways as rain protection detracted from its charm. Both dining and service seem to prioritize efficiency over hospitality now. With more all-inclusive Resort Hotels striving to enhance their service levels these days, I must rate this experience lower than my last visit at this level of quality.

    It was disappointing.

    It might be due to a shortage of staff, but there were many disappointing aspects. Even though it’s summer vacation and perhaps unavoidable, we paid nearly 100,000 yen for two people, yet the refrigerator had no drinks in it. We were directed to buy drinks at the shop on the first floor. For this price range, complimentary drinks are usually provided. Many things seemed to be omitted, which was disappointing. I was also looking forward to stargazing but wasn’t allowed to look through the telescope, which was very unfortunate. As it is a large hotel and must be challenging to maintain, I hope you will continue doing your best.

    The front desk service during check-in was slow, possibly due to the crowd, and there was no guidance provided while waiting. Other than that, the facility, Onsen, and meals were quite enjoyable, so I would consider visiting again if given the chance.

    It is a good place to escape the heat, but the Hotel does not have a café or lunch options, and there are no nearby shops, which was inconvenient. The outlet in the bathroom was also worn out, which caused some inconvenience. The Room had a nice view and was clean, which was great.

    An Accommodation to Enjoy the Essence of Kiyosato

    I stayed at this Hotel for one night with my sister's family and mother during their visit to Japan. The Hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute taxi ride from Kiyosato Station (though taxis are not always readily available, so requesting the Hotel's Shuttle Service might be a safer option). Surrounded by greenery, the environment was very pleasant. While the Hotel and Room were somewhat dated, they were well-maintained and comfortable. The French dinner for children corresponded well with the adult menu, allowing both adults and kids to enjoy their meals. Although we couldn't see stars that night, there was a stargazing event at the observatory on-site. While not specifically designed for children, it’s a place where both adults and kids can feel safe and have fun. The Japanese-style breakfast offered a variety of dishes that made it enjoyable, and the Onsen with its open-air bath was very relaxing. However, one disappointing aspect was how reluctant they seemed when we asked to store our luggage after check-out. Although understandable since it was after check-out time, they eventually allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby but mentioned they couldn’t take responsibility for it. If there had been more accommodating service considering different customer needs in such situations, I believe satisfaction would have been even higher. Other than this issue, everything else about our stay was excellent!

    The front desk and staff consist mostly of experienced members, providing a great sense of reassurance in their service. In addition to the excellent views and location, you can feel the charm of a traditional Japanese Hotel in every aspect.

    Enjoyed with nostalgia.

    Several years ago, I visited the Hotel a few times during Christmas concerts held in the hall. I remembered how stunning the Milky Way looked during the stargazing tour back then, so I decided to visit again after a long time. Although it was unfortunately cloudy this time, we were lucky that the clouds cleared during nighttime stargazing, and we could see the Big Dipper beautifully. The view from my Room around 4:30 AM was breathtaking—Mount Fuji floating above a sea of clouds and the morning glow reflecting on the garden pond created a magical scene. A morning walk in the garden was also delightful; I enjoyed breathing in fresh air while listening to birds chirping and immersing myself in nature. The meals and service were excellent, leaving me feeling truly refreshed and healed. I'm so glad I decided to visit again after such a long time. Thank you very much!

    The view from the Room was amazing, and the stargazing event was very enjoyable. The meals were also very delicious. We enjoyed a walk in the garden, and the location was quiet and excellent. I would love to visit again.

    I decided to stay at...

    I decided to stay at this accommodation out of curiosity. I searched for a place to stay with my husband and chose this one as a trial. For the price, it seems quite reasonable. However, during breakfast, I tried raising my hand and calling out to request coffee, but no one came, so I gave up and left my seat. As I was heading back to the room, someone mentioned that the coffee was still on its way, but by then I had lost interest in going back to drink it. To be honest, despite having several staff members on the floor, some were just standing idly or not checking tables properly. If not for that issue, I might have considered coming back again. It’s a bit disappointing. Please ensure such things don’t happen next time. Other than that, everything else was good!

    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night as a solo guest. The view from the Room was great, and the meals were very delicious. The staff were also very kind and accommodating. I participated in the nighttime observatory tour. Although it was cloudy that day and we couldn't observe much, I enjoyed the explanations about constellations and video presentations. One thing that concerned me was that when I opened the bathroom door in the Room, there was a strong odor. I didn't hear any sound from the ventilation fan, so I wondered if it was functioning properly. Other than that, it was affordable, quiet, and overall very satisfying!

    Quiet and Relaxing

    I had visited Kiyosato a few times before, but this was my first stay at Kiyosato Highland Hotel. It is a quiet and relaxing accommodation perfect for adults. The meals were absolutely delicious! Listening to stories about the stars and gazing at the starry sky allowed me to forget about daily life for a while. The staff were all kind, and I had a wonderful time. This is definitely a hotel I want to visit again.

    Beautiful scenery and clear starry skies

    Early spring in a snowy wonderland. Both Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps stood out as if painted by an artist. The retro-style building blended beautifully with the scenery. The Room was spacious and well-maintained, and the large public bath exceeded expectations. The nighttime stargazing class was exceptional and very enjoyable. We chose a French course for dinner, though I felt fish might not have been necessary. It would have been nice to have wine pairing options available. The staff provided clear explanations and their efficient service was highly commendable.
