    Meals not included

    The portions may seem large depending on your age, but the food is delicious. It was great to have a ride to the bus stop for Senjojiki Cirque.

    At check-in, I menti...

    At check-in, I mentioned that I couldn't eat raw fish but was fine with cooked dishes. Although it seemed a bit challenging, they adjusted the menu accordingly, which I greatly appreciated. Every dish was delicious, especially the fried shrimp—it was exceptional. The female staff were cheerful and made the experience enjoyable. The only downside was that the futon was thick and heavy, causing me to sweat during the night. A lighter blanket would be more suitable for this season. Overall, I had a wonderful stay!

    A truly wonderful Ry...

    A truly wonderful Ryokan. We decided on a sudden summer vacation and made a reservation for a 2-day, 1-night stay during Obon. Since we started searching only five days before our planned stay, the available accommodations were quite limited. However, we chose this Ryokan because of its excellent reviews. As mentioned in the reviews, the staff at the Ryokan were incredibly kind and welcoming, making our stay very pleasant. Of course, the meals were delicious, and the Onsen was clean and absolutely amazing! My family all agreed that we were so lucky to find such an excellent Ryokan on such short notice. Thanks to this wonderful accommodation, our trip itself became truly memorable. Thank you very much! If given another opportunity, we would love to visit again!

    I chose this accommodation at Hayataro Onsen to visit Senjojiki Cirque. The interior was decorated with fresh flowers, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The onsen's water quality was excellent and very relaxing, though the changing room was small and crowded, which was a bit disappointing. The handmade meals were delicious. It was convenient to have shuttle service to the bus stop while leaving the car at the accommodation. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Helpful for climbing Mount Komagatake.

    We stayed here the night before climbing Mount Komagatake. The staff helped us by arranging an early morning taxi in advance and preparing rice ball breakfast boxes, which was very helpful. Thanks to their support, we were able to catch the special early morning ropeway service. Updating the room's air conditioning facilities would make for an even better sleep experience. It would also be nice to have an alarm clock in the room.

    A warm and welcoming accommodation.

    I stayed here for my Kaikoma-dake mountain climbing trip. While the accommodation is not brand new, I had a pleasant and relaxing stay. From check-in to receiving the key when going out, and until check-out, the staff's thoughtful hospitality was truly appreciated. On the second day of my climb to Kaikoma-dake, instead of breakfast, they prepared a bento box for me early in the morning before 6 AM. It was my first time enjoying such a luxurious meal at the summit, and I was deeply impressed. The meals at the accommodation were plentiful and almost too much to finish, but everything was incredibly delicious. I especially enjoyed their miso soup so much that I inquired if they sold their miso at their shop; unfortunately, it wasn’t available for purchase. Perhaps it’s not just about the miso but also their dedication to making great dashi stock. During meal times, they even replaced used teacups from our room with fresh ones and tidied up any trash—such attention to detail! The bath facilities were spacious; I particularly enjoyed soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the night sky. The private open-air bath in our room wasn’t an onsen but still large enough for three or four people to relax comfortably—it provided great relaxation. However, as someone else mentioned before me, it might be too cold during winter without some kind of door or barrier against outside air. Everyone has different priorities when choosing accommodations; for me personally: friendly staff service, delicious food, and spacious baths made this place perfect! It’s only about a 5-6 minute walk from here to reach Senjojiki Cirque bus terminal—and there’s even a bus stop near this accommodation on your way back. For those planning trips to Senjojiki Cirque or climbing Kaikoma-dake mountain—I highly recommend this accommodation!

    Excellent

    The staff's hospitality was excellent. Everyone was very pleasant, making my stay comfortable. The meals were satisfying, and the clam miso soup at breakfast was especially outstanding. The Shuttle Service to the bus stop for Senjojiki Cirque was very helpful. I look forward to staying again if I have the chance.

    The Best Accommodation

    We stayed with our two dogs to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Each dish was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. The amenities for the dogs were well-prepared, which we greatly appreciated. The bath had alkaline water with a smooth texture, making it very pleasant. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and during dinner, the hostess personally visited each table to greet guests warmly, which left a great impression. Fresh flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the accommodation, reflecting their heartfelt hospitality. It was our first stay here, but it was an exceptional accommodation that exceeded our expectations. We would love to visit again!

    I had such a great i...

    I had such a great impression when I stayed in April that I came back within two months. The room where you can stay with your dog is in a separate building, allowing for a comfortable and worry-free stay. All the staff are dog lovers, creating a very homey atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the onsen with an open-air bath was absolutely amazing. I will definitely visit again soon. Thank you so much to all the staff!

    The entire facility ...

    The entire facility was stylish and clean. The Room was a Western-style room with beds on tatami mats, making it very comfortable to walk barefoot. The large public bath felt slightly old-fashioned. The meals were both visually appealing and delicious. The staff were attentive, all with warm smiles and excellent service. The manager even took the time to greet each group personally.

    Good Accommodation

    I had a relaxing time. The meals were delicious. The final meat dish seemed to be grilled beef with miso, served with bean sprouts and paired with the last rice dish—it wasn’t to my taste. Everything else was very enjoyable, and the matcha mousse dessert was excellent. The view from the Room was great, and the service was attentive.

    Shinshu Sakura Journey

    We stayed here during our trip to see the cherry blossoms in Komagane. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were very satisfied with the food, BGM, Facility, and the wonderful Onsen. They kindly provided local cherry blossom information, which helped us reach our destination and fully enjoy the blossoms. We would love to stay here again next time. Thank you!

    A Memorable Accommodation for Sisters

    We stayed for one night on March 14 as sisters. This is an accommodation filled with memories of staying with our late mother. It had been a while since our last visit, but we were able to relax and enjoy our time. This time, we stayed in a twin room and were amazed by the beautiful view of the Southern Alps. The room was just the right size for two people and very convenient to use. We enjoyed tea and sweets while unwinding. The onsen was almost like a private bath due to the timing, which made it even more enjoyable. While the open-air bath was lovely, we especially liked the slippery texture unique to alkaline water in the indoor bath—it felt great! The cold water after bathing was also delicious. The meal portions were perfect; even though we usually can't finish everything, this time both of us ate every bite, including rice at dinner! Breakfast was also luxurious, and we ended up eating all of the rice served in an ohitsu (traditional wooden container). Thank you for such wonderful hospitality! We hope to visit again during another pleasant season.

    Stayed for the first time.

    I stayed for one night in the special room with an open-air bath at the annex "Ichihana Ichiyo" in the last week of November. I was hoping to gaze at the stars while soaking in the open-air bath in the room, but the bath was too cold to use. A family member who tried it once said they "froze." The washing area is not separated by a door and is outside like the bath, exposed to the cold air, making it impossible to wash your body or hair at this time of year. In the end, we used the large bath. There was no need to choose a room with an open-air bath. Perhaps the property should experience the state of this room's bath from late autumn to winter. It was also disappointing that the open-air bath in the room was not an onsen, especially when many properties now have onsen open-air baths in the rooms. (Even if it were an onsen, we couldn't use it for the reasons mentioned above.) If it wasn't an onsen, we wouldn't have chosen a room with an open-air bath. Did we miss where it was clearly stated that it wasn't an onsen? Despite being called a special room, the room wasn't particularly spacious (though there were two toilets for some reason), and although it faced the river, there was a parking lot along the river where people could be seen walking, and the opposite bank was a road, so the view was not refreshing at all. Was the assigned room bad among the rooms in the same category? Perhaps it would have been better to stay in a standard Japanese-style room. Are the high review ratings from those staying in standard rooms? I think the room name should be "Japanese-style room with open-air bath" rather than "special room with open-air bath." It raises unnecessary expectations, resulting in lower evaluations. I was also looking forward to the food, but it tasted a bit too strong for us. Additionally, it was a bit disappointing that it wasn't a private dining room, though I'm not sure if there are private rooms available. As a guest, the price of nearly 50,000 yen per person for this quality is honestly high. If there are facilities in the room that cannot be used due to the season (especially if they are a selling point), it seems necessary to reconsider seasonality or room categories. However, if the property's judgment is that the price is appropriate to maintain the property, then it can't be helped. While it wasn't a rave review, it was good that all the staff at the property were pleasant.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    From the moment we arrived until we left, we received very warm and pleasant service. We visited with the purpose of relieving the fatigue of the year-end, and it was truly worth it. The Onsen and the food were both excellent! Thank you very much.

    We were able to enjoy a relaxing time with our pet.

    Deliciously crafted cuisine, spacious rooms, attentive hospitality from pleasant staff, and a location blessed with a great environment all contributed to a truly enjoyable trip. Even the serving in the dining room was so efficient and rhythmic, it was a pleasure to watch. The front desk staff greeted us as if we were old acquaintances, which was a delightful departure from standard manual-based service. The pet-friendly room was comfortable, but the only downside was the smell in the room. It wasn't the typical pet or tobacco odor, nor the unique smell of an onsen area, but rather an unpleasant odor that seemed to come from the water in the toilet tank. The smell intensified with each flush, so we bought a deodorizer from a home center to manage it during our stay. The lack of an air purifier in the room seemed to trap the odor. Other concerns... The dining room was partitioned to block the view of other tables, but the sound of conversations and clattering dishes was noticeable, so some background music might help. The geta in the room were a bit tight for my high instep, so sandals might be a good alternative. It would be nice to have coffee available in the room, and I thought room wear like samue would be preferable to yukata. Overall, the hospitality was extremely satisfying. I've stayed at pet-friendly properties across the whole country, and this is top-level. Thank you for your hospitality.
