    We were able to welcome the New Year at a relaxed pace.

    Thank you for your hospitality. I was able to enjoy a relaxing New Year's stay. The meals, especially the Japanese-style breakfast, were perfect for the New Year and very delightful. It would have been even better if there had been year-end soba on New Year's Eve or a mochi-pounding event on New Year's Day. The Onsen was also wonderful, allowing me to unwind completely. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent!

    This was my first visit since it became part of the Keio Hotel Group. The place has become incredibly clean and beautiful, which was really great. Dinner was at the newly opened teppanyaki restaurant. We chose the best course, and it was truly excellent. The enjoyable conversation with the chef and head chef created a wonderful atmosphere, but unfortunately, some neighboring guests and a couple who arrived later in the dessert room were unpleasant. Without that experience, it would have been even more enjoyable... The staff kindly apologized for the situation. Of course, it's impossible to know what kind of people will be there at the time of reservation, so I understand it's unavoidable. Overall, all hotel staff provided excellent service. I think Takayama Green Hotel has upgraded in a very positive direction and turned into an accommodation that makes me want to visit again!

    It was a clean Hotel.

    Stayed in the Premier Suite with my husband and mother for the first time. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, with a wide variety of dishes that were replenished quickly, so there was no waiting or stress. However, it would have been perfect if there had been a bit more variety in the breakfast bread selection. The dessert pudding was very delicious. At the dinner buffet, the sashimi was tasty, and being able to make your own sushi was a nice touch. For amenities, it would be great if more face towels for Onsen use could be provided. Other than that, all amenities were well-prepared. We were able to buy all our souvenirs at the Hotel. It’s such an enjoyable place just to browse around. The location is convenient for visiting morning markets and sightseeing as well!

    Family Vacation

    The front desk staff are highly professional, and the rooms provide great comfort. The hotel features a relaxing hot spring and a convenient shuttle bus service. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious.

    No hospitality of a Ryokan is provided.

    Shuttle service is only available at scheduled times, there is no room guidance, and you must carry your own luggage to the room. The buffet begins with a 90-minute time limit announcement. We expected the warm hospitality of a Japanese Ryokan but experienced the dry service of a Hotel instead. Well, it is indeed called a Hotel.

    The main building has a check-out time of 10:00 AM.

    I stayed here in August as well, and this accommodation was the best in Takayama. The large flat self-parking lot is very convenient. This time, I chose a Japanese-style room due to a memorial service. The main building's 10:00 AM checkout time felt rushed. After attending a wake in Takayama, I expected food and alcohol at the purification gathering but found none. Taking a taxi back to the accommodation made me wish for an on-site restaurant offering light meals since the shop only sold souvenirs. From my third-floor room, I noticed cigarette butts on the rooftop outside. Additionally, I was surprised that there were no expiration dates indicated on the tea bags provided in the room. Other hotels often provide Ito En tea with individual expiration dates clearly marked.

    A Hotel I Want to Stay at Again

    I travel to various places once or twice a year and use different hotels. I usually search online to make a Reservation, but many times the Room quality has been less than ideal. However, this time, everything was excellent—the spacious Room, the quality of the in-room bath, and the dinner buffet. I would love to stay at Takayama Green Hotel again if I visit Takayama.

    Bedside Outlet

    The Room was beautifully renovated and very pleasant. However, it was inconvenient that there was no outlet near the right-side bed. The bathroom had a good water temperature, was clean, and well-maintained. The latest hairdryer provided dried my hair efficiently. One dissatisfaction I had was having to bring towels from the Room. It felt bulky, and carrying wet towels on the way back wasn't ideal. I only had breakfast, but since nearby restaurants are extremely crowded with tourists, I recommend dining at the Hotel instead.

    We were able to enjoy a calm and delicious dinner even with a toddler. For breakfast, we chose the buffet but felt that a Japanese-style meal might have been better. The provided samue (traditional Japanese clothing) for our toddler made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Thank you for the birthday gift during our celebratory trip!

    It was a Hotel perfect for a girls' trip.

    I stayed at Sakurarin Hotel. The room was spacious, allowing four people to relax comfortably. The wide vanity made getting ready, including makeup, stress-free. Amenities were well-prepared. The Onsen was wonderful, though I would have appreciated having a few more spare face towels. The hairdryers in the large public bath were high-quality brands like ReFa and Dyson, which were gentle on the hair. Our meal was a private teppanyaki experience that delighted both our eyes and taste buds, leaving us full of happiness (and food—sorry for not finishing it all!). It had been 28 years since we last traveled together as a group, but staying at Takayama Green Hotel made it an unforgettable trip. Thank you for creating such beautiful memories and moments of reunion!

    At checkout, when placing the payment on the counter, the male staff tapped the payment tray with his finger as if to indicate that money should be placed there. It would have been better if he had politely said, "Please place it here." This service experience is rated 2.

    The room is good, but...

    This was my fourth stay at the Sakura Rankaku Premium Twin. It's a perfect driving distance, with a great room, excellent onsen, and delicious buffet, which is why I keep coming back. This time was for a birthday trip. However, when I tried to check out and left the room, there was a cleaning cart placed right in the middle of the hallway, making it impossible to pass without avoiding it. While I understand that cleaning is hard work, placing the cart in such an obstructive spot during room cleaning seems inconsiderate. Why should guests have to navigate around it? It put a damper on what had been an otherwise wonderful birthday trip. That said, this is still one of my favorite accommodations. I plan to stay again in the future but kindly ask for improvements regarding this issue. Thank you!

    Everywhere is exceptionally clean.

    The public spaces and all rooms were exceptionally clean and pleasant. Both the Onsen and meals were wonderful, and staying on the top floor of the main building was very quiet with an extremely comfortable bed, making for a relaxing stay. It would be appreciated if disposable slippers could be provided in the room for better hygiene. It would also be nice to take coffee back to the room after breakfast at the dining area. There was a coupon at the front desk offering chopsticks as a gift when spending over ¥3,000 at Hida Product Center; it would have been helpful to receive this during check-in. When I started using a bath towel in the large public bath, I noticed several lipstick marks left on it, which was quite surprising. Please ensure thorough inspection during preparation.

    The room was spacious and comfortable. It was quiet with a great view, which we enjoyed. However, the dinner felt a bit formal, making it less enjoyable to savor at a relaxed pace. Overall, the front desk staff left a very positive impression, and we had an excellent experience. We would love to stay here again.

    Couple's Getaway

    We used this accommodation for the first time during our trip to Shirakawa-go, Hida Takayama, and Kamikochi. Whenever we stay at a ryokan or hotel, my spouse and I tend to evaluate them by saying things like "This part was great" or "This part was a bit disappointing," but honestly, there were no unsatisfactory conversations this time. The room was comfortable, the onsen was excellent, and the souvenir selection in Takayama had the largest variety and scale, which made us very satisfied. While it’s a bit far from the town center on foot, using a taxi is convenient. The only regret we had was that dinner was outside dining and slightly disappointing; we later talked about how it would have been better to enjoy Hida beef at the hotel from the start. Overall, we think this accommodation offers great value for its price balance.

    Despite being such a splendid hotel, only samue is provided as sleepwear. Additionally, there is one bath towel and one regular towel per person to use throughout the day for both the room's bathroom and the public bath. I stay at various accommodations every month and return as a repeat guest if I like them. However, while the meals at Ryokutei were highly satisfying on both days, I am unlikely to become a repeat guest.

    It was my first visi...

    It was my first visit in about 10 years. The place has been beautifully renovated, and Sakurarin Pavilion was very modern and lovely. The meals were delicious, and the staff who served us not only brought the food but also engaged in conversation, making it a very enjoyable experience. One thing to note is that we love Onsen and tend to bathe multiple times, so having an extra bath towel would be appreciated. All the staff were friendly, and this is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    The noise from upstairs was unexpectedly loud.

    The Hotel and meals were excellent, but... I was shocked by how much noise I could hear from the floor above. It might have been children running around, as there were loud thumping sounds like running footsteps and jumping off beds. This continued for about an hour from 5 PM and then again for about two hours from 6 AM. When I couldn't bear it anymore and tried to call the Hotel staff, I found that the phone line had been disconnected by someone, which took some effort to fix. After calling, it was quiet for about an hour but then resumed again—it was so noisy that it gave me a headache. I don't think it's the Hotel's fault, but as a noise prevention measure, it would be nice if families with small children could be kindly reminded to enjoy themselves without disturbing guests below them. It feels like this ruined what could have been wonderful travel memories.

    A Wonderful Time

    I stayed for two nights in August to escape the summer heat and had a very comfortable stay. I believe the thoughtful efforts in every detail contribute to creating such a pleasant environment, and I truly felt it was thanks to the dedication and hard work of all the staff. It has become a hotel that makes me want to stay again and again.

    Wonderful Hotel

    When I checked in, exhausted, the hotel staff kindly offered to carry my luggage. Although it seems to be a popular tourist area, the interior was very calm and quiet, making it a wonderful hotel. The quality of the onsen water was excellent. I used the café for breakfast and enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing time. I would love to stay at this hotel again when I visit Hida Takayama next time.

    This option is convenient for those traveling by private car.

    Sakurin-kan Comfort Twin Room stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The view of Takayama city over the parking lot and the JR Takayama Station platform was visible. Entering the restaurant in room wear (samue) is allowed. For dinner, we chose Chinese cuisine, which seemed Cantonese-style. Since the hotel is part of the Keio Group, I expected it to be similar to Keio Plaza Hotel's Nan-en Chinese cuisine, but it was entirely different—unique and incredibly delicious. Breakfast was a buffet with local specialties like Mitarashi Dango and Hoba Miso, giving a strong regional feel. I was surprised by how many foreign guests were there! The Onsen large bath is located on the 1st floor and basement of the main building; this time, we used the 1st floor bath. It’s an alkaline spring with a smooth texture that gives a full Onsen experience. The open-air bath was also spacious and satisfying. Parking is wide and convenient; if you park near FAV Hotel, it blocks morning sunlight—so in midsummer, parking further back where it's open might be better! We usually stay at Gero Onsen or Okuhida Onsen but enjoyed this city hotel-like experience with Onsen and great food in town—will definitely visit again!

    Summer in Takayama

    I have stayed here several times and am always impressed by the wonderful service, the cleanliness of the large public bath, and the delicious meals. However, I was surprised to see two foreign women in public spaces wrapped only in bath towels. Nonetheless, I will visit again.

    Relax in a spacious corner Room on the top floor

    The room was a spacious corner room, allowing for a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious and served in just the right portions. We enjoyed dining in a private room with attentive service from the same staff member. The Onsen was also satisfying.
