    Both the Facility an...

    Both the Facility and services were excellent. The Japanese-style breakfast tasted great and was a good portion. Since there is a sauna, it would have been nice to have deck chairs for relaxing, even if a cold plunge bath is difficult to provide.

    Highly satisfied.

    We were completely satisfied with everything—the restaurant, the Room, and the large Onsen bath. Since we were traveling with my elderly parents, the staff kindly accommodated us by assigning a Room near the elevator. At the buffet restaurant as well, they immediately understood our request as soon as we sat down, and everything went smoothly. At the Japanese restaurant, there were many non-Japanese staff alongside experienced Japanese staff, and everyone was very polite, making our stay truly comfortable. The Room was spacious with an easy-to-live-in layout, which was great. The Onsen left our skin feeling wonderfully smooth.

    Hida Beef Tasting Comparison

    *What I liked… Dinner was delicious. The Hida beef tasting, Hida beef nigiri, and ayu were excellent. I was completely full. At the breakfast buffet, it was my first time at a Hotel that offered Yakult and almond milk. I wanted to try a little of as many items as possible, but there were so many options—and I was already full from dinner—so I couldn’t finish everything. The Onsen also made my skin feel smooth. In the end, I only used the large public bath on the 1st floor, but it seems the Onsen in the basement is very good, so my husband said it was a shame we didn’t go. There were also lots of souvenir options, and I was able to buy items I had missed at other shops. The service was fairly good too. *What I wasn’t fully satisfied with… Even though it’s quite far from both the station and downtown, we were still charged for parking. Free might be difficult, but I wished it had been at least half price. Our Room number was 842 (it includes “42”), which didn’t feel very lucky. And when we opened the shoji screens in the Room, a cemetery stood out prominently. When staying at other Hotels, amenities are usually placed near the front desk so guests can take what they need. Since I’m used to that style, it felt inconvenient (and disappointing) that this Hotel only had large bottles in the large public bath area. In Shirakawa-go the next day, perhaps because Obon had ended, there seemed to be fewer inbound tourists than expected, so we enjoyed it more. Next year as well, we’d like to visit Hida Onsen again and then tour sightseeing spots around Toyama the following day.

    This is an outstanding Hotel in every way.

    I stayed here once about 20 years ago and still remember the wonderful hospitality, so I decided to return. From the moment I arrived at the drop-off area, the Hotel staff welcomed me with warm smiles and quickly brought a cart. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I felt a comforting, welcoming atmosphere. After a long journey that left me quite tired, I immediately thought, “Even though it’s far, I’m glad I came back here.” The building was impressive before, but now there are additional buildings and the lobby has been extensively renovated into an elegant and beautiful space. The Room was not only spotless; amenities and towels were perfectly prepared as well, making my stay very comfortable. This time, since my schedule outside was packed, I chose a Plan with no meals—just a compact Room for sleeping at night. Next time, I’d love to dine in the Hotel and choose a Plan with a more spacious Room so I can relax and fully enjoy my stay again!

    Conveniently located near the station, with wonderful staff.

    Thank you for taking such great care of us. From the front desk to the entrance, the buffet, and the souvenir shop, every staff member’s service was wonderful, making this a very pleasant Hotel. I was especially happy when a staff member passing by kindly asked if we would like them to take a photo. The buffet food was also delicious. The roast beef at dinner and the omelets in the morning—along with the live cooking right in front of us—felt truly luxurious. The Japanese, Western, and Chinese selections were always well monitored so nothing ran out, and there was clear attention to hygiene as well, which made dining very comfortable. We chose breakfast and dinner buffets for our two-night stay (3 days), but since the menu did not change much, we did get a little tired of it. That said, this is common at most Hotels, so next time on a Multiple Night Stay I would like to be mindful about using the Hotel’s restaurants as well. This Hotel also has the Hida Takayama Bussankan shop on-site, which is incredibly convenient because you can do all your shopping at once. The selection is extensive, shipping is fast, and the staff’s work is outstanding. The only disappointing point was regarding trash in our Room: all of the previous guest’s garbage had been left behind. It was during Obon so I’m sure it was an extremely busy time and preparations must have been difficult. I absolutely do not want anyone to be blamed or reprimanded; however, I respectfully ask that you take this seriously—because despite your excellent hospitality overall, there was this small oversight that I mention with care and goodwill. We were touched by the warmth of Hida Takayama and made wonderful memories here. Thank you very much.

    The guest-only Onsen...

    The guest-only Onsen was excellent. Although the Accommodation is close to the station, it was extremely hot during our stay, so the Shuttle Service was greatly appreciated. The samue provided as in-house wear was nice, but it did not feel comfortable as sleepwear, so I wish cotton sleepwear were available.

    Family Trip

    I was originally planning a trip to Shikoku, but the weather forecast predicted rain throughout our stay, so I quickly changed plans to Hida—a place no one but me had visited before. This Hotel came up in my search as a good option, so we stayed here. Since there were four adults, we chose the Deluxe Japanese-style Room. The moment I opened the door, I noticed a lovely floor chair and sat down right away. It was very comfortable. For bathing, my husband and son used the public bath, while my daughter and I used the in-room shower. The water temperature in the Room shower fluctuated between hot and lukewarm, which made it a bit difficult to use. Most guests seem to use the public bath, so perhaps it isn’t used very often. We had breakfast only. The buffet area was spacious with a wide variety of dishes, and we took small portions so we could try as many items as possible. Everything was delicious and very satisfying. In particular, the egg dishes prepared right in front of us by the chef were exceptional. Checkout is at 11:00 a.m., so we were able to relax even after breakfast. I would like to stay here again when I visit Hida next time.

    Thank you for hostin...

    Thank you for hosting us for the first time. We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room on the top floor. It was spacious and clean—nothing to complain about. The open-air bath was also great. Since we left early, we did not have meals. We were very satisfied to stay at such an affordable rate. We would love to stay again next time.

    A fine Hotel. I wanted to walk around the garden, but I couldn’t find the entrance.

    My mistake. My after-meal medicine was tidied away while still in its packet before I could take it. Leaving it out next to the tray so I wouldn’t forget backfired. It may have been thrown into the trash along with other plastic waste. Next time, I’ll use a pill case or something similar so it’s clearly identifiable.

    Perfect for making unforgettable memories.

    Staying somewhere new always makes me a bit nervous, but this Hotel made me want to stay one more night... First of all, the buffet-style meals were outstanding. The Hida beef—like you’d get at a restaurant—was delicious. It was perfect for making family travel memories, and everyone in our family (Americans) was satisfied. It’s also in a location where you can walk and explore from central Takayama. Perhaps thanks to the Hotel’s consideration, we didn’t have to mix with large tour groups, so we could comfortably enjoy the Onsen and other facilities.

    Enjoy Takayama

    My spouse and I stayed in the new wing of Green Hotel, Ourinkaku. The refrigerator door under the TV was sticking out and wouldn’t close properly, which really bothered me. There was also a slight odor throughout the building. I felt that adding a pleasant aroma (such as aromatherapy) would create a more upscale atmosphere, so that was disappointing. I took out a glass to have a cold drink, but it was small and hard to drink from. The hot water in the bath was very good. The staff member who assisted us at breakfast was attentive, and we were satisfied. Thanks to them, we had a pleasant start to the morning, and we are grateful. Overall, I expected a bit more in terms of amenities and everything else, but these are my impressions within expectations.

    A clean and comfortable Hotel

    I stayed here during my visit to Shirakawa-go. My Room was a Premium Japanese-Western style room with beds and a raised tatami area, and it was very relaxing. The small chairs and table set in the Japanese-style area were also tastefully chosen. The Hida beef course dinner was excellent, and I was very satisfied. It’s also not too far from the morning market, making this a very comfortable and wonderful Hotel to stay at.

    Onsen

    The Onsen was very nice. We chose a Plan with breakfast. The rice was so delicious that we even had seconds. It was also our first time trying Hida pork. It was so good that we looked for some to buy as a souvenir. I think dinner would have been delicious too if we had ordered it. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    A Hotel that will make you smile.

    We stayed here on a memorable trip with my parents. Thanks to the staff’s kind and thoughtful hospitality, our whole family was filled with smiles and happiness. Everyone we met in the Accommodation was also wonderful, and my parents seemed to make many great memories in such a comfortable atmosphere. The food was delicious as well, packed with local ingredients! We also discovered new flavors from Takayama. While happily looking back on old memories… we were able to add new, joyful ones too… It truly became a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

    The Room and cuisine are outstanding! A high-quality Accommodation where souvenir shopping is also fun.

    We stayed in the main building’s suite Japanese-Western Room. The Room was outstanding, with amenities thoughtfully provided down to the smallest details, making for a truly luxurious stay. The semi-private open-air Onsen bath attached to the Room was especially wonderful, and we were able to enjoy the Onsen again and again without worrying about others. Every dish was delicious, and we were completely satisfied with both the quality and portion sizes. The staff’s service was excellent throughout; thanks to the thorough explanation of the facilities at check-in and attentive care in the restaurant, we felt comfortable from start to finish. We also loved the spacious on-site gift shop, which offered a wide selection of souvenirs not only from Gifu but from across the Tokai region—just browsing was exciting. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that there were fewer power outlets in the Room than expected—especially none by the bedside—so we needed to borrow an extension cord to charge our phones, which was a bit disappointing. That said, aside from that point, it was truly an exceptional Accommodation. If we have another chance to visit Takayama, we would definitely love to return.

    Simply put, it’s the best.

    This Hotel offers such an open, spacious atmosphere that it makes you want to take a deep breath. My family has been staying here for decades. The wonderful Onsen, the renovated and spotless Rooms, and the staff full of hospitality made us feel at home. Thank you very much.

    Open-air bath

    The Room reserved through IKYU had an open-air bath located just outside the bedroom, and it was wonderful for relaxing. The large Onsen was also excellent, so it was hard to choose between them—and I ended up bathing many times. The dinner buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and we were able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The toilet location felt a bit awkward.

    The carbonated Onsen is wonderful.

    The carbonated Onsen in the basement helped my body relax, even though I should have been tired from a long drive. Since I stayed for work, I also used the Room during the day for meetings and other tasks. With two rooms and plenty of space, it was very convenient. Everything was great. I would like to stay here again when I visit Takayama, Gifu.

    Wedding Anniversary

    I’ve visited Takayama dozens of times, but only on day trips, so I had never stayed at this Hotel before. Although it is a historic Hotel, the Facility is beautifully maintained, and you can feel the charm of Takayama throughout. There were many international guests, so there were plenty of foreign staff as well, and I was impressed by how excellent their language and manners were. Above all, the service from the slightly older staff members was outstanding! They are truly a role model for the younger staff and an essential presence at this Hotel. Of course, we were very satisfied with the large public bath and the meals as well. Since it was our wedding anniversary, we also received a surprise gift. I’ve never stayed at a Hotel that made me want to return this much. We made wonderful memories here. Thank you very much!

    Full Moon Accommodation

    Although it is a very large Hotel, everything was thoroughly cleaned, and I had a very comfortable stay. However, there were a few points that concerned me. I would have liked a chair in the elevator. Perhaps it can’t be helped in such a large Hotel, but it was too far from the new wing to the large public bath and the restaurant. If check-in is available from 2:00 p.m., wouldn’t it be better to finish cleaning that floor by 2:00 p.m.? When I checked in at 2:00 p.m. and headed to my Room, I could hear vacuum cleaners along the way, and housekeeping carts were left around the corridors, which spoiled the mood.

    Outstanding hospitality

    Not only were the rooms and Facility spotless and well maintained, but every staff member was courteous, making our stay extremely comfortable. We could also tell that the meals were carefully prepared, and we had a highly satisfying time.

    Stress-free

    We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, Onsen, meals, and service. The Room was spacious and functional, with a large TV installed and plenty of amenities. The Onsen was very relaxing, especially the open-air bath, and the silky water quality was soothing. We booked a breakfast-only Plan, but the buffet had a wide variety of options. Since the dining area is large, we didn’t have to wait at all even during the peak time after 8:00 a.m., despite it being a holiday weekend. At checkout, we asked at the entrance to arrange a taxi, and they kindly helped; the car arrived in less than five minutes. We had a wonderful holiday, and our whole family is very happy.

    We were able to welcome the New Year at a relaxed pace.

    Thank you for your hospitality. I was able to enjoy a relaxing New Year's stay. The meals, especially the Japanese-style breakfast, were perfect for the New Year and very delightful. It would have been even better if there had been year-end soba on New Year's Eve or a mochi-pounding event on New Year's Day. The Onsen was also wonderful, allowing me to unwind completely. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent!

    This was my first visit since it became part of the Keio Hotel Group. The place has become incredibly clean and beautiful, which was really great. Dinner was at the newly opened teppanyaki restaurant. We chose the best course, and it was truly excellent. The enjoyable conversation with the chef and head chef created a wonderful atmosphere, but unfortunately, some neighboring guests and a couple who arrived later in the dessert room were unpleasant. Without that experience, it would have been even more enjoyable... The staff kindly apologized for the situation. Of course, it's impossible to know what kind of people will be there at the time of reservation, so I understand it's unavoidable. Overall, all hotel staff provided excellent service. I think Takayama Green Hotel has upgraded in a very positive direction and turned into an accommodation that makes me want to visit again!

    It was a clean Hotel.

    Stayed in the Premier Suite with my husband and mother for the first time. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, with a wide variety of dishes that were replenished quickly, so there was no waiting or stress. However, it would have been perfect if there had been a bit more variety in the breakfast bread selection. The dessert pudding was very delicious. At the dinner buffet, the sashimi was tasty, and being able to make your own sushi was a nice touch. For amenities, it would be great if more face towels for Onsen use could be provided. Other than that, all amenities were well-prepared. We were able to buy all our souvenirs at the Hotel. It’s such an enjoyable place just to browse around. The location is convenient for visiting morning markets and sightseeing as well!
