We visited Awaji Island as a couple. We enjoyed the bath three times, and each type of bath was wonderful. Watching the sunrise from the open-air bath on the second floor in the early morning was truly moving. Since meals were served in our Room, dining while gazing at the ocean was fantastic. We also relaxed at the Riraku Lounge. On our way back, a staff member kindly saw us off to our car and recommended visiting Highway Oasis, so we decided to go. The weather was great, and the scenery was beautiful and refreshing. We had shirasu rice bowls and bought plenty of fresh onions to take home. Thank you for your hospitality! We look forward to staying at Yumekaiyu again!

Stay for a Child's Birthday
For our child's 6th birthday, we decided to try this place instead of New Awaji for a change. At New Awaji, they gave a small birthday gift (the kind that expands and retracts when you blow on it—I forgot the name) which left a great impression. Even though I mentioned the birthday in the Reservation, there was no such gesture here. A simple "Happy Birthday" would have been nice! The meals were plentiful and lightly seasoned, which was good. However, the salmon at breakfast was so tiny that even my child was shocked. I wouldn’t mind paying more if they could serve at least one proper slice of salmon! Using such a large grill just for this felt too minimalistic—it really surprised me!

Reunion
Since we were a group of six, we stayed in a special Room, and it was an even more wonderful space than we had imagined. Although the Room did not have an open-air bath, the Hotel's open-air bath was fantastic, allowing us to relax while enjoying the ocean view. Meals were served in the Room for both dinner and breakfast, providing a calm and private dining experience. Additionally, we were deeply moved and impressed by the heartfelt service provided by our room attendant.

Spring was in full bloom.
This was a trip we had reserved in advance to visit Awaji Island during the cherry blossom season. The main building and annex are connected by a corridor, allowing access to three baths in total. However, part of the corridor is outdoors, which might be cold in winter. Many nearby accommodations are part of the Hotel New Awaji group, so we found our way by looking at the signs. The room was 12 tatami mats in size with a stunning ocean view. The furnishings, wallpaper, and decorations were all carefully selected and delightful to look at. Dinner was served at the restaurant venue with efficient service that ensured everything went smoothly without any delays. For breakfast, we had to climb stairs to reach the venue, which was challenging for family members with mobility issues. For those who have difficulty walking, choosing a plan with in-room dining or another venue might be more suitable. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying stay. Thank you very much!

A Relaxing Journey
Upon arrival, we checked in early to enjoy the large public bath and Bankunmei services. The check-in process in the lobby was smooth and relaxing, which we appreciated. It was our first time experiencing Bankunmei's traditional Thai massage, and it provided a truly wonderful and healing time. The Riraku exclusive lounge was a comfortable space to unwind. It would be even better with a slightly wider selection of drinks or snacks. The Room was perfect—completely satisfying!

Good.
I made a reservation with my sister a month ago, and it was wonderful. My sister, who loves baths, was very satisfied as she could enjoy various types of open-air baths. The meals were also great, especially dinner where we could taste different cuts of beef, which was delicious. One downside regarding the facility was the lack of signage despite the complex layout of the building; we got lost on our way to both the dinner and breakfast venues. Other than that, the cherry blossoms were beautiful, and it was an excellent experience overall.

The Onsen was excellent.
I stayed at the accommodation for my husband's birthday. Since it was a weekend, check-in took over 20 minutes. I have food allergies and had informed the accommodation in advance as we booked a room with a meal-inclusive plan. The front desk also confirmed this during check-in, which reassured me. However, when the meals started being served to our room, dishes containing my allergenic ingredients were brought repeatedly, possibly due to confusion about who had the allergy. I thought of correcting it on the spot but lost motivation after being served both chawanmushi and salad for shabu-shabu that contained those ingredients despite prior notice. As it was a special occasion we were looking forward to, this left us very disappointed. Considering it's an issue related to health, I expected more care and attention in handling such matters. Additionally, during checkout on a rainy day, when my husband tried to park under the carport area for convenience, he was told by the doorman not to stop there and was directed back to an available parking space instead of being allowed priority access like other cars. This forced me to walk through the rain back to our car and left us questioning their approach. Given its high review ratings and reputation as an established accommodation known for safety and reliability, we had high expectations but were ultimately let down by these experiences.

Just as others' reviews said!
It was a one-night, two-day stay, and I had a very pleasant and wonderful time. As mentioned in other reviews, the room and the facility were kept very clean, and I saw many staff members cleaning in the morning. I used the onsen three times, and since I could also use the bath in the annex building, it was refreshing to have a change of atmosphere. If I may suggest, changing the shampoo and conditioner provided might enhance their appearance and give a more luxurious feel. Since my reservation was made late, I couldn't choose dinner options during booking. Instead, we dined at Awaji Yakiniku Kappo Kohaku restaurant—and it was an excellent choice! The food there was incredibly delicious; we enjoyed Awaji Island beer while having a great time. There was an item called "osumashi" on the menu that turned out to be surprisingly tasty—far beyond what its name suggested! We had pre-ordered a children's menu for our child as part of our reservation—it was very luxurious and made them happy. All staff members were extremely polite and kind; even foreign staff spoke Japanese fluently with remarkable courtesy—it left me impressed. Awaji Island offers so much delicious food wherever you go—I would love to stay here again someday. Thank you very much!

Meals may not meet expectations; it is recommended not to expect too much from the dining experience.
I made a reservation at Yume Senkei in New Awaji for my child's birthday because my wife said it was good. Since my child wanted in-room dining, I chose a room with that option. However, the sashimi did not meet our expectations—it felt like the nearby supermarket might have been better. The grilled fish at breakfast was so small it made us laugh. Perhaps we had set our expectations too high, and I reflected on that. I do not plan to revisit.

A wonderful luxury accommodation to escape from everyday life.
I always stay at Amahara, but this time I tried the new villa. It was located about 100 meters away from Yumesenkei. With only four rooms, it was very quiet. In the lounge, I enjoyed delicious quiche, tarts, and canelé along with wine, Kaga roasted tea, and coffee until 6 PM. After 9 PM, I indulged in tasty fresh chocolates and spicy nuts paired with highballs or draft beer (the beer server is also available in the evening). If there are noisy children around, it might not be as relaxing; your experience may vary depending on other guests that day. The building was not only new and clean but also had a spacious design. The private open-air bath in the room could fit about three people comfortably. The shower operated with just one button to release water from the ceiling. Both the washing area and dressing room were spacious as well. There was even an adjustable partition between the open-air bath and terrace—everything felt functional without wasteful design elements; whoever designed it has excellent taste. Since it's not connected to the main building, we were driven by shuttle service to a private dining restaurant on the second floor of the main building for dinner. The meal featured Japanese cuisine including tempura and sukiyaki which left us full; however, my family unanimously agreed that "we prefer Amahara's meals." Breakfast was served in the lounge where we could choose between Japanese or Western-style meals—my daughter opted for Western-style while I chose Japanese-style breakfast again featuring beef cooked sukiyaki-style like dinner which felt repetitive unfortunately—but miso soup filled with ingredients along with rolled omelets and grilled fish were delicious! As for Western breakfast options: six types of bread accompanied by four kinds of jam—all tasted great when sampled briefly—I regretted not choosing Western myself! The male staff members (two gentlemen) were incredibly polite yet friendly throughout—from welcoming us upon arrival through guiding us around—and even prepared omelets or miso soup during breakfast hours themselves showcasing their versatility within what seemed like an efficient small team setup. Considering its location relative proximity suggests future connectivity between villas & main facilities might happen someday soon perhaps via walkways since both buildings appear close enough visible directly across beachfront views currently requiring shuttles otherwise walking independently seems plausible reaching public baths souvenir shops alike eventually improving accessibility further down line potentially enhancing overall guest convenience long-term perspective-wise still evolving phase ongoing development process apparent meantime meanwhile... While torn deciding due fondness towards Amahara’s buffet offerings spanning dinners breakfasts alike ultimately leaning favorably toward Villa accommodations inclusive superior lounges outfitted thoughtfully comfortable attire selections comprising samue pajamas ensuring utmost relaxation henceforth planning alternating stays balancing preferences accordingly moving forward!

Accommodation Reviews
I have stayed with the same group before, but this time I found it quite disappointing. Specifically, there were too few staff members to make a shuttle service reservation, and the meat in the meals was neither fresh due to oxidation or freezer burn—this was particularly disappointing. Additionally, there was no send-off upon departure, making it far from a satisfying experience.

The room and service...
The room and service were excellent, but the food was disappointingly poor. I also think it would be better if the amenities were of higher quality.

Yume Chikage Hospitality
This was my first stay at Yume Senkei. From the moment I arrived at the hotel by car, my luggage was carried for me, and during check-in, it was also brought to my room. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious, making the experience wonderful. The only disappointments were that one of the "Tanagumi no Yu" baths was unavailable due to a boiler malfunction and that I couldn't see the sunset or sunrise because of bad weather.

The ocean view is amazing, but...
We stayed for one night as a family of three. We were able to relax in the spacious room, and the open-air bath attached to the room was also very nice and spacious. However, I felt a bit uncomfortable with the curtain used for privacy, possibly due to some renovations. In the washroom, water splashed around, so I wiped it with a towel; however, in the restroom... perhaps because of mismatched sink width, water from handwashing ended up on the floor below. I didn't wipe that since it's not my job... I'm here on vacation for relaxation. Also at night there were noises that kept me awake... I wonder what caused them! Our wedding anniversary is next month but due to many events with our grandchildren we moved it to February; this stay allowed us some relaxation. We travel twice a year usually... we have our regular Ryokan but would love to come back here again if possible. On departure too... everyone? Thank you very much for seeing us off warmly. Other Ryokans should learn from this hospitality. Thank you truly for everything. Oh, by the way, the open-air bath is filled with smooth Onsen water.

The open-air bath was excellent.
It was a great feeling to enjoy the open-air bath with a view of the sea. The food was also delicious. Towels were provided in the bathing area, so it was convenient not having to bring them from the Room. The cold bath after the sauna was outside and very cold.

Nakai-san
I have been using this Ryokan for quite some time and I really like it. This time, due to scheduling conflicts, it was my first visit in a year. The Nakai-san who usually takes care of us is always cheerful, with a wonderful smile and a clear voice, making them very likable. However, I am sorry to say that the Nakai-san who attended to us this time was the worst. There was no smile, only minimal explanations about the dishes, and I didn't feel like engaging in conversation. The next morning, they entered the Room without greeting us. When the Nakai-san was in the Room, there was an unpleasant atmosphere, and even our family conversations stopped. Fortunately, a different Nakai-san saw us off with a friendly demeanor, so I would like to use this Ryokan again, but I hope there will be no inconsistencies in service.

The large public bath is excellent!
You can visit the large baths of three Hotels. This time, I stayed at two Hotels, and since the baths switch between men and women, I was able to bathe four times in one night. The view is great, and at night, I could enjoy the bath while watching the beautiful moon. The meals were delicious, and since I could have them in a private room, I was able to eat at a leisurely pace. The kids' room is also well-equipped. It's a Hotel I want to visit again.

I was very satisfied.
I made a reservation for the purpose of enjoying fugu for three years. After being indecisive among various hotels, I chose Awaji Yumekei. Starting with hirezake, the fugu was tender, sweet, and very delicious. My wife usually eats little, but she ate until the final zosui and said she was very satisfied and wanted to come again next year. It was that great. The staff greeted us with smiles, and we had a wonderful time. I definitely want to visit again next year.

The hospitality was excellent!
This was my first stay, and I was impressed by the warm hospitality of everyone, from the guide upon arrival, the staff serving the meals, to the café staff in the lobby, all with smiles. The view from the room and the bath was excellent, and the meals, especially the seafood and meat shabu-shabu for dinner, were delicious. It was a hotel that makes you want to visit again. Thank you for taking care of us.

As expected of the Hotel.
The hospitality of all the staff was excellent. Even when we happened to meet in the hallway, they carried our luggage to the front desk and their smiling service was much appreciated. There were no smiles that didn't reach their eyes. Additionally, the foreign staff spoke Japanese fluently, making me want to stay again. The quality of the meals was superb.

The staff members are wonderful.
I usually use it with my husband, but this time I took my family from my parents' home for the first time. Last time, we stayed at Amanohara, so I felt that good service was naturally expected for the price. However, I was impressed by the hospitality and the staff's response even in the cheapest room this time. I think we were quite demanding guests, with requests for early arrival, bathing at other hotels, sudden changes in meal times, and changes in breakfast content, but they responded smoothly with a smile every time. It was a very satisfying trip to Awaji Island for my mother and nieces. I couldn't help but compare the meals to Amanohara and laughed, but they were delicious. I would like to use it again next year!

First Time on Awaji Island
This time, I traveled to Awaji Island for the first time with three friends. Despite our packed schedule and traveling by rental car, we were relieved by the warm welcome we received upon our late arrival at the property. Many of the staff were from abroad, but their hospitality was excellent, which made us happy. We were able to enjoy the sunrise from the bath, as the sea was right there. Although Awaji Island is far, if I have the chance to visit again, I would definitely like to stay at this Stays.

I enjoyed the Onsen.
We stayed as a group of three close female friends. The room was a triple room on the Riraku floor, and it was very spacious and nice. Despite the unfortunate weather, we were able to enjoy a luxurious time with in-room dining for both dinner and breakfast while enjoying the view. The food was also very delicious. The staff in charge of the room was efficient, explained the dishes clearly, and even took photos for us, which was very helpful. Since the New Awaji Group is connected within the facility, we were able to visit the large public baths of other hotels, which was great. It is a property I would definitely like to visit again.

It became a Hotel I want to visit again.
I have stayed at Shimahana before, but this was my first time here. I was looking for a room with an onsen open-air bath and a bed, and chose this room at Riraku. The room was very nice, the open-air bath was excellent, and the deck chairs were very comfortable. At night, the starry sky was beautiful! The night sky of Awaji Island was wonderful. It's a room I would like to stay in again. If New Awaji has a similar room, I am considering staying there next time. However, the layout of the building was a bit confusing. It was easy to find the yakiniku restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast buffet venue was shared with people from other affiliated hotels, so we had to walk quite a bit to get to New Awaji. I don't think it's suitable for those who want to have a quiet and leisurely breakfast. It was spacious, but it felt chaotic, like a lunch venue for a bus tour. Dinner was wonderful, but breakfast was ordinary, about the level of a business hotel breakfast. Next time, I might choose a Japanese set meal or room service if available. I used the spa. There are various spa services available, but the reservations were fully booked, and I could only get an hour. This might be a separate impression from the hotel, but the treatment was skillful. However, the demeanor was unfriendly and indifferent, which was a stark contrast to the hotel staff. The hotel staff, both Japanese and foreign, were all wonderful and well-trained. To the foreign gentleman who waved to us until our car was out of sight when we left, thank you!

Hospitality
We received heartfelt hospitality. The room was easy to use, and above all, the view was outstanding. The hot spring was a bit far from the room, but it was very pleasant. I will definitely visit again with my husband and mother. Maybe next time with my grandchild too.
