    Thank you for your hospitality on my mother's birthday.

    We stayed here last year as well, and this year too, we were fully satisfied with the delicious cuisine, beautiful Onsen, and the Facility. My mother was also delighted. Thank you very much!

    Wonderful Accommodation

    Both the cuisine and service were exceptional, providing the highest level of hospitality. We created wonderful memories. We definitely want to stay here again next year.

    A very disappointing accommodation despite high expectations

    I stayed at the accommodation for my husband's birthday. I had arranged a surprise birthday cake via email, but when I double-checked with the male staff at the front desk on the day, I was shocked by his response: "It's too late to prepare now." Even after explaining that I had sent an email, he said they don't make cakes at the accommodation and couldn't prepare one. While there could have been alternative options, their lack of hospitality was deeply disappointing. The dinner was honestly not delicious. Having dined at various accommodations and restaurants before, this was among the worst experiences I've ever had. In particular, the green pea rice served at the end had a bitter taste and peculiar smell that made it hard to eat more than one bite. The onsen also felt rather plain in terms of scenery. The only positive aspect was a friendly female staff member who guided us to our room with great hospitality. I cannot recommend this accommodation at all. If you're spending a considerable amount of money, it's wiser to choose another place to stay. The high reviews raised my expectations but left me feeling let down instead.

    The bathroom was a bit disappointing. The Room bath was too small, and it was unfortunate that the private bath's water flow was insufficient. The vegetable-focused meals were good, but I would have liked a bit more meat and fish options.

    Accommodation that takes time to prepare meals

    Enjoy delicious food while it's still fresh. We truly had a relaxing time savoring the meal. The staff kindly served us for nearly two hours, which must have been quite an effort, but they explained everything with a smile—thank you! While leisurely dining, we almost missed the service wine during the light-up view and felt a bit rushed. It would be nice to have just a little more time to enjoy the atmosphere. The late-night soba sushi is delicious!

    We stayed in a two-room accommodation with a private open-air bath. The staff member assigned to us seemed unfamiliar with proper etiquette and lacked understanding of the accommodation, providing unclear explanations. When asked about the private open-air bath, they could not confirm if it was an onsen. Even when explaining the dishes, they struggled despite referring to notes. As for the room, accessing the private open-air bath from the bathroom with a washing area required passing through a tatami room, which was inconveniently designed. Additionally, the bathtub in the washing area appeared covered in black stains resembling mold, which was very unpleasant. The food offered nothing particularly delicious; instead, it seemed overly salty or seasoned with soy sauce excessively. Some dishes left us questioning their quality (especially the wine-steamed wagyu beef and mountain vegetable rice served at the end). While we enjoyed fresh vegetables in the salad, their recommended sweet miso dressing tasted strange and overpowered the vegetables' natural flavors. Regarding alcohol options, even including input from their head chef, no one could provide clear recommendations based on taste preferences—making it difficult to choose. Perhaps our expectations were too high; however, we hope this accommodation improves and becomes better in future visits.

    About Dinner

    The soy milk hot pot was served, but the ponzu sauce did not taste good at all and did not pair well with the soy milk. It was truly disappointing. Not only me, but my wife also found it not tasty at all. However, the breakfast was delicious.

    Allergies can be dangerous.

    Despite confirming a shrimp allergy, shrimp tempura was served on the second day. It is concerning that this was not noticed until we pointed it out. Allergies can be extremely dangerous, so please take extra care in the future.

    Completely different from the photos, very disappointing.

    The trip I had been looking forward to turned out to be disappointing. The room was nothing like the photos, with the toilet and sink far from clean and outdated. The hinoki bath was small, discolored, and unappealing to touch. The scenery outside resembled a ruin, with bare branches looking dirty rather than picturesque. Despite the beautiful rivers and landscapes seen along the way, sitting on a chair with holes in it while facing such bleak views was unbearable. Since payment had already been made by card in advance, I decided to check out without having any meals. However, I was stopped on my way out and told there were additional charges to pay in cash. Even though I didn’t use or see the Onsen water at all, I still had to pay the Hot Spring Tax before leaving. Unable to eat lunch or dinner during my stay left me hungry for hours as I spent four hours traveling back home. After unpacking my luggage upon returning home, I paid my pet sitter as agreed so as not to inconvenience them further. Despite this experience, there has been no follow-up communication from the accommodation since then.

    The stay was great overall, but the pillow was too high for me, which was uncomfortable. It would be nice if there were options to choose the pillow height or if two lower pillows could be provided so that one could be used individually.

    This Property is highly recommended.

    We stayed for two nights in a Room with an open-air bath. The Property had been recently renovated, and both the Room and public spaces were very clean, comfortable, and satisfying. The meals were plentiful and extremely delicious. The staff were all very kind and attentive, and when I hurt my back while exploring the valley, they provided me with a pain-relief patch, showing genuine care for us as guests, which deeply moved me. If you are visiting Tateshina, this is the Property I would recommend above all others.

    Unchanging Sense of Security

    Located along the Märchen Road with excellent access. Parking is easy. Climbing the long stepping stone approach that skillfully uses the undulating terrain gives you the feeling of arriving at a nostalgic villa. Recently, a wheelchair-accessible route seems to have been created. Despite being along the road, it is quiet. Renovations have progressed, and all rooms on the first floor now have open-air baths, and it seems that the number of rooms with beds has increased. The calm hospitality of the staff and the exquisite food and drink remain unchanged no matter when you visit. It is a comfortable Stays.

    Stayed here during a...

    Stayed here during a trip from a neighboring prefecture and thoroughly enjoyed the "Shinshu experience" I had imagined. The meals were served in a completely private room, allowing us to savor Shinshu's local ingredients in peace and quiet, which was incredibly satisfying. The staff provided warm and friendly service, reminiscent of the local hospitality, which added to the pleasant experience. From the guest room to the lobby service and even the morning matcha tea offering, everything was impeccable and left me fully satisfied. As for the Onsen facilities, I only used the open-air bath in my room and did not try out the public bath area. Compared to another hotel by Lake Suwa where I stayed previously with exceptional water quality, this Onsen felt slightly less impressive (hence minus one point). I would love to visit again—thank you very much!

    A property with great hospitality

    The staff were all considerate and pleasant. Thanks to everyone, I was able to have the best time and was very satisfied. Thank you very much. In terms of the Facility, the private open-air bath in the Japanese-style room was charming, very spacious, and gave a sense of openness, which was impressive. You should definitely try it if you can get a reservation. The food was generally good, but it would have been even better if there was a noteworthy specialty. I will visit again.

    It was a family trip.

    It was nice for spending time with family. The person who assisted us during meals was a beginner, which made us more nervous. Although we don't usually use bathrobes often, perhaps because it was summer, they were very useful every time we used the Room's open-air bath. However, the dishes were cleared away as soon as the meal was over, and even though there was still plenty of time until checkout, it felt like we were being rushed, which wasn't very pleasant. They probably wanted to clean up quickly.

    Service that makes you feel sorry

    I am satisfied with everything. However, the portion sizes were too large for me to finish, and although a late-night snack was also prepared, I ended up not eating it. I felt sorry for not being able to appreciate your kindness. It is not a dissatisfaction with the Stays, but I left the Property feeling sorry for all the care and attention given to me.

    I would love to visit again.

    It was the best stay as per the review. All the staff were very polite and I was impressed by their hospitality. The room was, of course, clean, but the dining area and lounge were also very clean and comfortable. I was very satisfied with the meals, as I could enjoy a lot of delicious vegetables and fish from Nagano. As the name "藍" (Ai) suggests, indigo-dyed items were used in various places, which was nice. It was a wonderful property in a beautiful natural setting, making me want to visit again in every season.

    A wonderful extraordinary time

    I visited with my wife. Amidst the trees, we were able to spend a special time in a very lovely space. We enjoyed a delicious course meal in a private room, and the open-air bath helped relieve our fatigue. Above all, the hospitality of everyone at the Stays left a lasting impression on us. Although we didn't have our own car, we received kind advice and were able to enjoy sightseeing at Shirakoma Pond. We would love to visit again.

    It was a last-minute...

    It was a heavy rain on the day, but I was able to relax in the calm and serene atmosphere of the room and bath. The male staff members were genuinely courteous and attentive, which was pleasant. It is one of the Stays I would like to visit again.

    The room with an ope...

    The room with an open-air bath was great for this price. The food was delicious, and the staff, including the proprietress, were polite and attentive. Nearby, there is a large facility where you can buy vegetables and fruits cheaply, and a pond made famous by Kaii Higashiyama, just a 15-minute drive away, making the location excellent. The service of tokoroten and coffee, as well as the late-night snack, made it a good inn. We thoroughly enjoyed the private open-air bath as well.

    A hospitable inn

    All the staff are friendly with smiles. I think the evening wine and morning coffee service in the lobby is very nice. Both breakfast and dinner were so plentiful that it was almost a shame not to be able to finish them.

    The room's bath with a spectacular view was truly relaxing.

    I was soothed by the gentle garden view from the room bath and terrace. Unlike a neatly arranged Japanese garden, it felt like a countryside with the sounds of insects and birds, which was truly relaxing. The food was about 80 points. The local vegetable salad was perhaps a bit too bold. The overnight dried trout for breakfast was exquisite. Overall, it was a satisfying one-night, two-day stay for all the guests.

    A place I want to visit again

    The room had a nature-rich view, was spacious enough, and comfortable. Upon entering the entrance, there was a lovely aroma scent. The welcome drink and the inn's original Japanese sweets were delicious. The view from the lobby was enjoyable with changes from day to night. The staff's demeanor and greetings showed that employee training was well done. I felt it would be nice to have cold water in the changing room. The meals were creative, utilizing local vegetables, with good seasoning, and the dishes and presentation were also nice. I was captivated by the vegetables of Tateshina and stopped by a direct sales store. I would like to make a reservation in a different season.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I was a bit concerned as I could only find videos from a few years ago on platforms like YouTube, but I was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness and efficiency of the staff. It was also refreshing to see many young employees, which is rare these days. Despite the unfavorable weather, I enjoyed an early check-in and late check-out, allowing me to have a comfortable stay.     Thank you for accommodating our early arrival. The meals were delicious, and the tokoroten in the lobby and the soba sushi for a late-night snack were also tasty. We were able to relax and unwind in the private bath.

    I was extremely satisfied!

    Spacious room, very delicious local cuisine, hot springs, staff, everything was completely satisfying. I thought I couldn't eat the soba sushi for the night snack because I was full, but once I took a bite, it was so delicious that I finished it all. After breakfast, I had coffee time on the terrace surrounded by greenery, it was a blissful time. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to repeat my stay.
