    I’d love to stay here again.

    It was a wonderful, very comfortable Accommodation. The Room layout and atmosphere were excellent, and simply gazing at the forest view from the window was soothing—I lost track of time. The in-room Onsen was easy to use, and the water temperature was perfect whenever I bathed. The staff who assisted us were also wonderful. The meals were delicious, and the portions were just right. I would love to stay again in a different season.

    The atmosphere and the meals were both excellent.

    All the staff were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, making our stay very comfortable. The meals were made with carefully selected ingredients and were truly delicious.     Sansuikaku is excellent.

    I previously stayed at the sister property, Annex Kai. Since it didn’t have a large public bath, I walked to Sansuikaku to bathe, and I liked the atmosphere of the main building so much that I decided to stay here. The service was just as good as at Annex Kai—excellent overall. The Facility has a strong Showa-era feel, which is nice, but since it’s a wooden building, it may feel cold in winter. All of the staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel very comfortable—this is a wonderful Ryokan. It has become one of the Ryokan I definitely want to visit again.

    If only it weren’t for this.

    Stayed for one night (2 days). 1. Housekeeping It’s an older building, but it was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained. While a few doors didn’t fit perfectly, overall cleanliness was consistently high. 2. Large Public Bath The large public bath is a bit small, but it’s always kept clean and tidy. When I stayed, there weren’t many guests, so I was able to enjoy it almost like a private bath. It’s also great that it’s available 24 hours. I didn’t use the private bath, but by 4:00 PM most time slots were already booked and unavailable. It may be best to make a Reservation as early as possible. 3. Facilities and Other Amenities There is a lounge in front of the large public bath where you can enjoy complimentary plum wine or coffee depending on the time of day. It was perfect for relaxing after bathing or after meals. 4. Meals The food was carefully prepared and seasonal, and I was very satisfied. 5. Disappointments I ordered the standard pairing set of alcoholic drinks; however, it didn’t match the course meal I had Reserved, which made things feel inconsistent. (Specifically, the pairing seemed designed for a course that includes a meat dish, but my course did not include one—so I ended up having red wine with the hot pot dish, which wasn’t a great combination.) Of course this was partly my mistake for not fully understanding both menus beforehand, but I would have appreciated being informed or given an explanation at the time. 6. Service The staff were very hospitable overall; however, I felt the explanation of the drink pairing could have been better. 7. Overall Thanks to IKYU, I was able to stay at excellent value for money. The people, Facilities, and Onsen all deserve high marks—if only there had been clearer guidance about the drink pairing experience would have been even better.

    A Relaxing, Peaceful Accommodation

    Escape the city bustle and fall asleep to the evening chorus of cicadas, then wake to the songs of wild birds in the morning. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed pleasant conversations with the staff, making for a truly wonderful stay. The Room was spacious, and it was an Accommodation where we could relax at ease for the first time in a while.

    This was my second stay.

    This was our second stay at this Accommodation, as we stayed for the first time last year and were very satisfied. We truly enjoyed the meals, the spacious Room, and the relaxing lounge atmosphere, and had a very comfortable stay; however, unfortunately the Onsen temperature was too hot. As this is an Onsen Accommodation, we would like it to be set to a temperature that allows guests to soak comfortably for longer. Other guests who were there at the same time said the same. In the morning it was so hot that we couldn’t even get in. We would like to visit again, so please consider making improvements.

    A calm and relaxing Accommodation where you can truly unwind

    Although it rained unfortunately, this Accommodation was very comfortable for spending a quiet time while listening to the sound of the rain. They came to pick us up with umbrellas for each person all the way to the parking lot, and that thoughtful gesture made for a great start. The Onsen had only an indoor bath, but it was a bathroom where you could soak comfortably for a long time. The paid private bath didn’t seem to be used much, so since there’s only an indoor bath, I felt that encouraging more use of it would improve overall satisfaction with the hot spring. Perhaps because there were many female guests, there were times when we couldn’t enter unless we waited in the changing room, so it was surprising and disappointing to feel inconvenience around the bathing area. It was probably just bad timing, but since this is such a lovely Onsen Accommodation...

    A wonderful Accommodation

    I stayed here with my mother, and we were extremely satisfied. The Accommodation itself is an older building, but the interior has been beautifully renovated with great taste and was very comfortable. Every meal was truly delicious, and the attention to the tableware made it even more enjoyable to look at the plates and presentation. The Onsen was pleasantly warm—not too hot—yet it really warmed us up, and left our skin feeling soft and smooth. All of the staff were welcoming and attentive, and choosing to stay here was absolutely the right decision.

    I was truly satisfied from the bottom of my heart!

    My pregnant wife and I stayed for two nights on a maternity trip. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly attentive, and every staff member we met during our stay showed wonderful hospitality. Even casual conversations while meals were being served made us feel they genuinely took time with each guest, which was very comforting. We could also feel thoughtful consideration in the Room amenities, and we were surprised to find heated floors at the entrance and in the washroom. The large public bath was clean, a comfortable size, and never crowded. We also thoroughly enjoyed both the private bath and the bath in our Room. The meals were outstanding—both breakfast and dinner were delicious from start to finish. (The portions are generous, so we recommend keeping lunch light!) All four meals during our stay featured different menus each time, and the carefully chosen tableware made it a pleasure for the eyes as well. We will definitely be back!

    Relaxing Accommodation

    This was an Accommodation I had long wanted to visit, and I was impressed by how beautifully it has been renewed with thoughtful improvements such as seismic reinforcement while preserving its historic character. The bird guidebook in the lounge and the words displayed in the Room conveyed a charming, modest warmth. Both the in-room bath and the large public bath were gentle on the skin and wonderfully relaxing—truly a “beauty bath.” The private dining room was so spacious that it felt almost too much for just two of us. When we made our Reservation for the kaiseki Plan featuring plenty of seasonal vegetables and a local chicken hot pot, we found it unusual (not Nasu beef) and were very curious, but we were amazed by how exceptionally fresh all the ingredients were. My husband was also very satisfied, and we were able to unwind from everyday fatigue. He says he would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The food was very delicious. The bath in the Room was available anytime at our convenience, and the temperature was just right. There were matcha pound cake and bean snacks in the Room, and they were also delicious. The Room was spacious, and we were not bothered by noise from next door. We would like to visit again.

    It’s located up a hill. The staff were polite and attentive, which was excellent. The building is old, dating back to the early Showa era, but the decor, furniture, and interior details were lovely. However, it was cold. I understand that can’t be helped with an older building, but it might be better to choose a warmer season. The Room was spacious and comfortable, but unfortunately the mattress was too firm. It felt like money had been spent on what you can see, but I honestly wished there had been a bit more focus on things that affect comfort, like sleep and meals—areas that directly impact your body. Overall, I had a relaxing stay and it was good. Thank you for having me.

    A long-established Ryokan committed to quality ingredients

    Upon arriving at the Accommodation, when we were served tea in the lobby, they laid a cloth over the carpeted floor and placed our luggage on it. I was truly touched by such thoughtful attention. Even after entering the Room, we could feel that care in so many little details throughout. The meals were all made with carefully selected ingredients, and the tableware was beautiful as well. Everything was incredibly delicious, and we enjoyed each dish one by one. The building from the early Showa era has been beautifully renovated, and we could sense the owner’s attention to detail in everything—from the window frames to the interior—making our stay very comfortable. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed in the Genpei Room. The first floor of the maisonette has the bathroom and washroom, and the round bathtub was filled with water at just the right temperature, so we enjoyed bathing many times during our stay. For meals, because our child is a very picky eater, we made a Reservation for a Plan with breakfast only. Breakfast was a classic Japanese set meal, and each side dish was delicious—our very picky daughter was able to finish almost everything on her own. Next time, I’d like to visit with my husband and stay in a different Room with dinner included as well.

    The best Accommodation of my life

    We stayed here for my wife’s birthday trip. As a result, she told me it was the best Accommodation of her life. First of all, the property itself was wonderful. With a calm atmosphere that evokes wabi-sabi, I felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. The service was pleasantly friendly while still conveying genuine hospitality, which made our stay very comfortable. Everyone was natural and unpretentious, yet their attentive care made us feel at ease throughout our stay. The Room felt like an old traditional house—nostalgic and warmly inviting. It was truly comfortable. The Onsen bath in the Room was spacious, and I ended up soaking again and again. We could enjoy a luxurious, relaxing time without worrying about being seen by others. Above all, what left the strongest impression was the food. Each dish was prepared with great care, and we could really feel both the quality of the ingredients and the high level of culinary skill. We were completely satisfied from start to finish. This is an Accommodation that will stay with us—one we would love to visit again.

    It was a wonderful time.

    A truly wonderful accommodation. The staff were polite and exceptional, greeting us as soon as we arrived at the parking lot and seeing us off warmly despite the cold weather.     Ideal for trips with friends.

    Stayed at "Aogiri" (with bath). I was looking for an accommodation where adults can relax, and I made the reservation because of its atmosphere and good reviews. The room had a charming design that retained the nostalgic feel of the Showa era while incorporating modern touches. Pairing your meal with sake is highly recommended! The food was both delicious and satisfying in quantity. I also enjoyed relaxing in the room's bath while gazing outside. The staff were welcoming from arrival to departure, making my stay very comfortable. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    It was a very nice accommodation.

    The service was very polite, and the food was excellent in both taste and portion. The Room and the private bath were spacious and comfortable. A highlight is being able to go directly from the shower booth to the open-air bath. We hardly encountered other guests, allowing us to enjoy a truly relaxing time. We would love to stay here again.

    Unbelievably great accommodation for the price

    We stayed for 48,000 yen for two people with a 20,000 yen point discount. The accommodation had a separate bedroom, a Japanese-style room of about 10 tatami mats, and a Western-style room of about 4.5 tatami mats. The view was unobstructed and quite impressive. The meals were thoughtfully prepared with high-quality tableware, and the flavors showed great attention to detail. Honestly, even at 68,000 yen it would have been worth it—truly surprising! The only downside might be the limited amenities.

    We visited as a group of three, including my uncle and cousin. As soon as we arrived by car, the staff came out to greet us and guided us inside. The room, lobby, and salon were all beautiful and provided a calm atmosphere for relaxation. From the room and salon, we enjoyed stunning views of autumn leaves. After taking a bath, I spent blissful moments in the salon reading a book while enjoying coffee. The meals were served in private dining rooms where we savored beautifully presented kaiseki cuisine at our own pace. The warm hospitality of the accommodation staff made our stay truly special.     Arriving early in the evening, I enjoyed a refreshing bath followed by sparkling wine during happy hour in the lounge while admiring the garden—a truly delightful experience. The purely Japanese-style interior, including the Room, is modern and impeccably clean. The meals offered were seasonal dishes and absolutely delicious.
