    Steps from the station.

    A Hotel with a retro Showa-era atmosphere. Close to the station. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a soft-serve ice cream machine from a local dairy farm—it was very tasty, and our child loved it.

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation for a standard Room, but I was offered a newly renovated Room, so I was able to stay in one that had just been refurbished. The interior was, of course, very clean, and the housekeeping was thorough. The staff greeted us cheerfully as well, making the stay very pleasant. The bathtub is also spacious enough to stretch out and relax. Amenities included a toothbrush, razor, hairbrush, and cotton swabs; I don’t think there were many skincare items. The only thing that bothered me was that the table and chairs were placed in front of the refrigerator, so I had to move a chair to open it. Given the Room size it’s understandable, but it was a bit inconvenient.

    Tottori Sightseeing

    I made the Reservation expecting the New Otani brand, but the age of the property was noticeable throughout, and unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The location is close to a dining area, so it is a good choice if you are staying at a Business Hotel. Breakfast felt somewhat limited in selection.

    A nice, quiet Hotel.

    The in-room cleaning amenities are well provided, making this a very good Hotel. Although the building is older, it has been renovated and feels like the most luxurious in Tottori. I would like to stay again.

    It was very conveniently located right in front of the station.

    Although the Hotel is compact, it has a calm atmosphere with the charm of a long-established property. We were given a newly renovated, spotless Room this time, and it was very comfortable. The bed was great to sleep on, and although the bathroom is a unit bath, it still felt upscale. At first we planned to eat out for dinner, but there was an affordable dinner menu available exclusively to guests, so we changed our plans and had Japanese cuisine at the Hotel. It was delicious. For around JPY 3,000, we had an appetizer featuring yam, sashimi, chose tempura as the main dish, and it also came with chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), rice, miso soup, and pickles. We could enjoy the meal at a relaxed pace and really appreciated it. Because the meal was priced so reasonably, we were able to order sake within our budget. Since I wasn’t familiar with Tottori’s local specialties, I think it would have been even more memorable if there were simple notes during the meal—for example: “This is Tottori’s specialty ___,” or “The rice is Tottori ___ rice.” The service was also polite and attentive, so I would like to stay here again when visiting Tottori.

    I couldn’t sleep at all.

    I could not sleep due to constant running noises and loud voices from the floor above, so I contacted the front desk. However, instead of improving, even louder footsteps continued afterward—so much so that it felt intentional. When I told the front desk again while there for another matter, I was only told, “We warned the guests upstairs.” It was very disappointing, as it felt like if a warning does not work, guests are simply expected to endure it. Later I was shown another Room, but I was told to “move only while you sleep,” which also surprised me—especially since I had luggage and it seemed assumed that I would return to the original Room afterward. Because I had plans early in the morning, I ultimately could not sleep and did not feel there was any point in staying at a Hotel. What disappointed me most was the way staff spoke and responded throughout as if I were causing trouble. More than the Facility itself, I wanted a more guest-focused response. Even at checkout there was no apology or word of consideration, and until the very end I did not feel any sincerity. It was an extremely disappointing stay.

    We were able to relax thanks to the 11:00 AM check-out.

    The 11:00 a.m. checkout was very convenient, and it was great to be able to take a walk around the city after breakfast. The town felt calm and relaxing, with a small zoo and many carp streamers hanging over the river, allowing us to enjoy the charm of Tottori beyond major attractions like the sand dunes. Breakfast also featured local specialties such as Sakyu nagaimo (sand-dune yam) and ago chikuwa (fish cake), which we really enjoyed—especially the Sakyu nagaimo, which was delicious.

    It was convenient.

    It was very convenient, located near the station and right in front of the bus terminal. I stayed on a long-stay Plan for a concert, and it was truly comfortable and relaxing. The toilet and bath are combined, but they were clean and spacious, which I appreciated. There is also a department store next door, connected by a passageway, so you can get to the station without getting wet in the rain. One thing I would like to mention is the sleepwear—I would prefer separate top and bottom pieces, as it felt a bit heavy.

    What time is check-out?

    I absentmindedly made the Reservation and didn’t realize the check-out time was 9:00, so my morning was a bit rushed. Other than that, I was completely satisfied.

    Tottori Information

    This was my first time visiting Tottori. As I arrived late at night, I chose this Hotel because it is close to the station. The lobby staff kindly shared information about local restaurants not listed in guidebooks, which I really appreciated. The attentive service reassured me that this is truly Otani quality. Thank you very much.

    The Hotel is conveni...

    The Hotel is conveniently located near the station. They kindly stored our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which was very helpful. The Room air conditioning was easy to adjust, which was great. However, it was disappointing that soap was used in place of hand soap. Also, the electric kettle filter seemed broken or not properly maintained, so it didn’t seem usable. Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious.

    The Room is clean.

    The Room was thoroughly cleaned, and I had a very comfortable stay. If I have the chance to visit Tottori again, I would like to stay here again.

    Well-equipped Facilities

    I stayed the previous night as well, but changed my Plan and extended my stay as a Multiple Night Stay. I went out, left my luggage, came back, and spent the time relaxing. Unlike another Room, I noticed that sounds carried more, and when I woke up in the morning, the door was open. The Room door is not auto-lock; you have to press a button to lock it yourself. I must have forgotten to lock it, and someone likely opened it during the night. It was my mistake, but I think guests should be careful.

    It was an exceptionally well-appointed Plan.

    It was conveniently located just a short walk from the station. The high-floor Room itself was wonderful, but it was very close to the elevator, so I noticed some noise. The key was cute, with a magatama charm attached. The Room number is written on it. The Room key does not lock unless you press the button, so you need to be careful. The amenities were truly excellent. I’ve stayed on ladies’ Plans in Tokyo and Kanagawa before, but these amenities might be the best. There were snacks, three bottles of mineral water, and not only soft drinks like coffee, black tea, and herbal tea—I was also surprised to find a mini bottle of sparkling wine. There were also packs to soothe tired feet after walking on the sand dunes. If you want to relax in your Room, this Plan is truly perfect.

    A long-established, trusted stay

    I stayed here for business. Including the staff’s service, it feels reassuring. When visiting an unfamiliar area, that sense of reassurance is especially appreciated. The building may be old, but the front desk has a sparkling feel unique to a city Hotel. It might be even nicer with a bit more seasonal atmosphere. The Room felt clean, and the desk was comfortable for getting work done.

    The Facility was old, and the plumbing was outdated. Cleaning was not thorough. It matched the price. The response from the Hotel front desk staff was unfriendly, lacking a sense of education or tradition expected from a long-established Hotel.

    Proper Hotel

    I stayed in a twin room for one night at the end of the year, and despite being part of the Hotel New Otani group, it was surprisingly quiet. Tottori City seems to have more hotels than needed for its demand, leading to intense competition depending on the season. The guest rooms are well-renovated with no shortage of outlets or amenities. Breakfast, though limited in variety, is well-prepared and leaves a good impression. However, there is one drawback. While the location near Tottori Station is very convenient, it gets extremely quiet at night despite being near the station. In such an environment, you can clearly hear announcements from JR Tottori Station's platform. It didn’t bother me during other times of day but was quite loud around 6 AM and woke me up early. Staying here means you'll likely be an early riser! That said, I can't help but think JR could lower their announcement volume given how few passengers there are at that time. Aside from this issue, as expected from New Otani—it’s a reliable Hotel!

    New Otani Tottori is truly reliable. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the hotel is well-maintained despite its age.

    Satisfied with the staff service, following our stay at Echigo Yuzawa New Otani.

    Upon check-in, there was a room upgrade, and advice was given to delay breakfast time due to the presence of a group of foreign guests. As is common with breakfast buffets, arriving late meant some dishes were out of stock. In particular, yogurt was not replenished until staff were notified, resulting in about a 10-minute wait. This may be typical for a business hotel, but it highlights the decisive difference from top-tier or prestigious hotels.

    Pear and White Rose Milk for Breakfast

    Breakfast offers a moderate variety of dishes, with the pears being exceptional. I was glad to visit during the season for pears. Additionally, the White Rose milk and ice cream made from it were truly delicious. The Room this time was older compared to the one I stayed in a week ago. It seems that some Rooms have been renovated. Since there were slight differences in amenities as well, if possible, I recommend requesting a newer Room.

    A Relaxing Room

    It was a Twin Room for single use. The room was spacious, with a chair and table set neatly placed by the window. The headboard of the bed had built-in lighting, which created a soft glow throughout the room when turned on, making it very relaxing. I wished the wall-mounted TV could be adjusted. The counter was wide and comfortable for work. The bathroom was a unit bath but clean and spacious. However, the shower bar that should have been adjustable didn’t move, making it inconvenient to use. For breakfast, I expected freshly made omelets prepared in front of me but found large omelets served in scoops instead. It would have been nice to have options like pear smoothies among the juices available. However, the pears were exceptionally delicious—truly outstanding! Please make sure to try them!

    It was very convenient as I used public transportation. I was satisfied because I could enjoy SATSUKI's cakes. Having Shirakaba soft serve ice cream for breakfast was also a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Tottori.

    It was a last-minute reservation with no meals included. The twin room was spacious and had chic decor, which made me very satisfied. The front desk staff's service is remarkable! "Excellent."

    It was excellent.

    Located right in front of the station, just across the signal, it was easy to find and very convenient. The staff were pleasant, and the Room was more spacious and cleaner than expected. The bed was comfortable, and both the bathroom and washroom were clean, making for a pleasant stay. I really wanted to try their cake, so I took out a Napoleon pie. The staff kindly set up a tray with cutlery so I could enjoy it in my Room, which made me very happy! Despite being reasonably priced, my stay was extremely comfortable. Thank you to all the staff!

    Enjoy a Relaxed Breakfast!

    We couldn't forget our winter stay, so we invited our dear friends and visited again in the scorching heat of July! My spouse and I stayed in the same twin Room as before, while after consulting over the phone in advance, our three friends each stayed in spacious single Rooms with large beds. It was so relaxing... Everyone spent most of their time comfortably resting in their respective Rooms, only going out for dinner. Breakfast was served at a different venue from our winter visit—a bright and pleasant restaurant! The local dishes, bread, butter, and even soft-serve ice cream were all delicious, making it a highly satisfying breakfast for everyone. Although we had talked about visiting various places every year, we all agreed that we'd love to come back here again. While preferences for Hotels may vary from person to person, this has become a special Hotel where we can enjoy peaceful relaxation. We look forward to staying again!

    Needs significant improvement.

    The air conditioner was not functioning, and despite reporting it to the front desk and having maintenance staff check, the issue could not be resolved. The room was set to 18 degrees but felt much warmer, causing excessive sweating. When I mentioned that it clearly wasn’t 18 degrees, the staff agreed but remained silent. I decided to stay in the same room without further complaints, though I believe offering a room change should be the hotel's responsibility. Guests should confirm such details before staying. - The bathroom curtain was thin and short (in width), fluttering due to shower pressure, making it difficult to wash hair comfortably. - The mattress in my room was extremely soft (this may depend on personal preference), causing my body to sink into a V-shape and resulting in back pain. - A chair facing the wall seemed poorly placed; better thought should go into furniture arrangement. Positive points: - There were four towels provided, which were very useful. - Amenities like shampoo were good; however, bottled water commonly offered at most hotels would have been appreciated. - The sewing kit provided came in handy. - Breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options. - Direct access to a department store via a connecting passageway was convenient. While there were some good aspects of this accommodation, an unadjustable air conditioner is a critical issue for me; I will likely choose another hotel next time.

    Relaxing and Charming Space

    We stayed for one night during a snowy day affected by a severe cold wave. Even after a few weeks, thinking back brings warm and relaxing feelings! The renovated room retained its classical elegance while being modern and functional, making us forget the cold. It truly had the charm of an established accommodation. The check-in process was very welcoming, and even before entering the room, we felt we made the right choice. After check-out, when I contacted them about an item left in the refrigerator, they responded with great care. Most accommodations tend to discard such items immediately, so their thoughtful response deeply impressed me. This hotel provided us with a wonderful sense of luxury! I would love to stay here again when visiting Tottori.
