    Finally got to stay here!

    This was my first experience with Moor Onsen, so I was very much looking forward to staying at Tokachigawa. As for the meals, I refrained from eating too much to avoid feeling too full and will save the rest for my next visit.

    Onsen, buffet, scenery, the perfect trip.

    We stayed in the same Onsen-equipped Japanese-style room at Toyotei as last time. The large public bath had a waterfall-like feature on the front wall that served as a screen, making it one of the most memorable open-air baths we've experienced. This time, with some snow still remaining, it added to the charm, but being able to use the private Onsen in our room anytime we wanted was wonderful. From our room's open-air bath, we unexpectedly saw the Tokachi Chuo Ohashi twin bridges and red-crowned cranes by the riverbank, fully enjoying Hokkaido's unique atmosphere. Dinner was a buffet and just as delicious as before. The variety included cheese fondue with vegetables and sausages, sukiyaki cooked individually at your table in small pots, steak, tempura, mini seafood bowls served in wooden boxes, shabu-shabu... there were so many tempting options that it was hard to choose! Desserts also offered plenty of choices; ice cream was hygienically served in chilled containers and easy to enjoy. I noticed mini hamburgers at the kids' buffet but hesitated to take one since they might not be for adults. For breakfast, freshly baked bread from within the hotel was delightful. The rice balls looked delicious too but I couldn't eat that much! Corn soup and yogurt were also excellent—true Hokkaido quality left me thinking of no other words than "delicious." This trip focused mainly on relaxing in Onsens rather than sightseeing. We enjoyed soaking leisurely while savoring great food—it turned out to be an amazing journey. Next time we'd love to visit during a season without snow and indulge in more delicious food again! Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing time.

    After heavy snowfall, I was able to relax in the Onsen. The view of the Tokachi River from the room was also amazing. (Seeing four wild red-crowned cranes warmed my heart.)

    The dinner buffet is of high quality.

    Upon arrival, parking was smooth, and the welcome and check-in process were seamless and impressive. The room was clean, with a well-functioning refrigerator. The Muatsu futon in the Japanese-style room provided excellent comfort. However, the air conditioning noise was slightly bothersome. The open-air Onsen featured a deep bath (approximately 1.2m) covering about half of its area, with only a small section along the wall accommodating 3-4 people comfortably on tiered seating. A quarter of the space had reclining baths for three people, while another quarter had standard depth but functioned more as a passageway. As such, despite its size, only about 6-7 spots offered relaxing spaces in total. The dinner buffet was outstanding—raclette cheese was exceptional! The beef stew and bouillabaisse were delicious as well. Sashimi was fresh, while hot pot dishes and kamameshi rice were also delightful. Desserts like cream puffs and Basque cheesecake were of high quality—worthy of standalone sales! Although there wasn’t sushi or seafood items like salmon roe or crab legs on offer, the menu selection paired with free drinks made up for it entirely. Raclette cheese paired perfectly with wine. Breakfast also followed a buffet style featuring an impressive variety of freshly baked bread; particularly noteworthy were their tasty loaf bread served alongside butter instead of margarine—a nice touch! Homemade marmalade stood out for its flavor too! Main highlights included freshly prepared rice balls and omelets; however overall dish variety remained limited compared to dinner offerings—seafood options such as salmon roe weren’t available either during breakfast service alongside minimal fruit choices (apples/bananas/oranges) plus desserts limited mainly towards jelly & almond tofu varieties which could benefit from further expansion improving morning meal satisfaction levels significantly! Overall though—the exceptional dining experience combined w/great hospitality ensures prioritizing this accommodation next time visiting Tokachigawa Onsen area!

    It was rare these da...

    It was rare these days to find a place with fewer inbound tourists, allowing for a calm and relaxing stay. The lounge remained unchanged from two years ago, offering a wide variety of snacks and sweets made in Obihiro, along with an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages. We enjoyed the Toyosu meal set, which was truly delicious with plenty of dishes that left us completely satisfied. Thank you for your thoughtful gesture on my husband's birthday! The bath facilities were excellent, especially the sauna and the open-air standing bath with breathtaking views that made it hard to leave because it was so enjoyable. All the staff were friendly and attentive—thank you for your hospitality. I would love to visit Obihiro again just to stay here!

    Recommended!

    I live in Obihiro City, but I use this place once a year for a refresh. Since it's nearby, the travel isn't tiring, and I simply enjoy the private open-air bath in the room and savor delicious meals while spending a relaxing time! The food is delicious no matter what you eat. Above all, I recommend it because the staff's greetings are the most pleasant!

    I was able to relax.

    I stayed at Toyosutei for the first time. Starting with the premium lounge where you can enjoy alcohol, juice, snacks, and appetizers, the room's interior is not too modern and calming. The view of Tokachi River and Hidaka Mountains is wonderful, as well as the indoor open-air bath with natural hot spring water. The meals were so delicious that no alcohol was needed. Most of the guests staying at Toyosutei were Japanese, which contributed to a quiet atmosphere that was much appreciated. This property is recommended for those who are busy with work or private matters and wish to forget the hustle and bustle to heal both body and mind.

    Enjoyed the worst customer service~ (Male Reservation Clerk)

    When I called about the reservation on the site and spoke with a male reservation agent, he pressed me by asking, "Are you staying or not? The conversation is getting long," which made me feel bad!! Since there would be a Cancellation Fee if I canceled the day before, I had no choice but to stay... I stayed for two nights in Tokachi; Daiichi Hotel was my second night's hotel. I was even more disappointed because other hotels impressed me with their hospitality! At check-in, the female front desk staff's response was still normal. The Hotel itself feels old; I think they renovated the Room. Considering the price, it might be okay... Dinner wasn't anything special, and there wasn't much food for breakfast either... Originally, considering the price, it's cheap with Room and meals included. My husband was impressed by the all-you-can-drink alcohol at the buffet. However, due to that poor customer service experience, I will never make a Reservation here again.

    The best Hotel

    I arrived early, but I was promptly accommodated and was able to check in before 3 PM, which was great. The open-air bath at night was amazing. The dinner and breakfast buffet were very delicious, especially the sukiyaki. The all-you-can-drink alcohol was also fantastic. I thought it would be better if the sashimi was categorized by type. I hope the breakfast rice balls and omelets will continue to be offered.

    I was impressed by everything.

    When I arrived early at the Hotel and checked if I could check in, the woman at the front desk was very kind and greeted me with a big smile, leaving a great impression. The reception at the lounge, the guidance to the Room, and the explanation of the Property were all very clear. When guiding me to the Room, the woman at the front desk knelt down to explain, which was truly exceptional. The Room with an open-air bath had wonderful hot water, and I ended up soaking in it multiple times. The meals for breakfast and dinner had a wide variety, everything was delicious, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol was great. The view from the Room was also excellent. Thank you for the many wonderful experiences during my first stay. I will definitely visit again.

    There was no explanation about Wi-Fi at check-in, and there was no instruction in the Room either. The bath was spacious, and I was impressed by the wonderful open-air bath. However, although it was clean, it was disappointing that there was only one worn-out towel after bathing, and there was no towel with the Ryokan's name on it. Personally, I didn't need the tabi socks, so I would have preferred a towel. The food was all delicious, both in the morning and evening, with a wide variety, and I was very satisfied. Especially the steak and pork shabu-shabu at night, and the salmon roe rice balls, bread, natto, marudofu, and nagaimo in the morning were all excellent. The staff were kind and courteous. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    I was able to stay a...

    I was able to stay at a discounted rate through the IKYU sale. It was my first time staying, but I felt that the hotel was categorized within a large hotel to meet various needs. The riverside Western-style room was compact but very functional. The view at dusk was very beautiful. The buffet dinner was lively, with a wide variety of menu options to enjoy. The cream puff I had at the end was especially delicious. There seemed to be many repeat guests and locals. After checking out at 10 o'clock, I wanted to buy some bread, but it was sold out. It seems to be very popular.

    I expected the usual meal this time, but it turned out to be a free drink. It's a pity because I can't drink much alcohol. I would like the breakfast to be a little different in content.

    I enjoyed it to the fullest.

    This is my third stay in six years. The onsen and room were, of course, excellent, and the staff's hospitality was wonderful. The food tasted even better than before. If there was one concern, it would be that the large public bath had additional closure times outside of the hours we were informed of.

    The moor Onsen is truly wonderful!!

    This is my second visit in three years. I was really looking forward to it. The moor onsen is wonderful, and once you experience it, other onsens just don't compare. Two years ago, I stayed at a nearby hotel, but the room bath at Toyosutei (Toyosutei) is incomparable, so I made a reservation to stay at Toyosutei (Toyosutei) again. I'm really glad I made the reservation. It was great to spend time with my busy husband and relax. As for the meals, the dinner was delicious, but the impact of the luxurious breakfast was stronger. I hope to visit again in the autumn. I look forward to it.

    The Best Room and View

    The views from the Room balcony and the open-air bath were amazing—I couldn’t stop looking and felt truly relaxed. The cake and snack service at tea time in the Premium Room was also excellent. Hmm… I was a bit surprised that, for a regular price of JPY 87,300 for two people, the meal felt like a group Plan, and even the two “special” dishes as well… Still, it all balanced out thanks to everyone’s very pleasant service and the good-value Plan (haha). The private breakfast room also felt more like just a box, so I’d love a bit more atmosphere. The Diamond benefits at the footbath were wonderful—the ambiance, view, and service were all excellent, and the ice cream and banana juice were delicious. Thank you very much to Daiichi-san and IKYU! The in-house loungewear was very well made with great style and comfort, so I bought it! I wish there were a no-meals Plan or a breakfast-only Plan. I definitely want to visit again.
