    Great Onsen and Delicious Meals

    Stayed with three family members to thank a friend in Obihiro. Chose a room with an open-air bath and great views, which made my friend very happy. Although buses from Obihiro Station are limited, one stops right in front of the hotel entrance, making it easy to arrive by taking a midday flight → Obihiro Station → Onsen by 4 PM without renting a car. Enjoyed the unique moor onsen of Obihiro, followed by meals with so many options that it was hard to choose. The food was incredibly delicious. The service was excellent, and I plan to visit again in winter with another friend!

    Stayed at Toyosu-tei...

    Stayed at Toyosu-tei. From check-in, the staff's service, the facility, the room, and the meals were all excellent. The large public bath was great as well, but the room's private bath had a wonderful view and allowed for a relaxing soak without worrying about time.

    The staff was excellent.

    The 8-tatami room felt very cramped for 3 adults. For groups of 3 or more, we recommend reserving a larger room. Although the room was listed as having no view, we could see the forest, which I personally preferred over a river view. Dinner was not particularly impressive but still delicious overall. There was wine from Tokachi available, but it would have been even better if there were more varieties of Hokkaido wines instead of imported ones. Breakfast was delightful, especially the salmon roe and salted salmon onigiri—it was exceptionally delicious. Lastly, what stood out most about this hotel was how pleasant and attentive the staff were. I believe the best aspect of this hotel is its wonderful staff. I would love to visit again if given another opportunity!

    Onsen, service, and meals were all satisfying.

    During the holiday, I stayed at a large-scale hotel and initially did not have high expectations, but I was very satisfied. - The Onsen had a rare water quality that made my skin feel smooth and soft. The bath in the room was larger than expected, with great views—absolutely wonderful. - Although I didn’t expect much in terms of service during the busy holiday period, every staff member was excellent. Some mentioned they were helping from other departments due to the holidays, but their unfamiliarity wasn’t noticeable, and their service was pleasant. There were also daily events held that were enjoyable. - Meals were served buffet-style and everything tasted great. For guests on a Multiple Night Stay, there was even a special sashimi service—a thoughtful touch! However, there weren’t many ingredients unique to Tokachi available. While the hotel offered its original beer as part of the drink selection, only foreign wines were available which felt slightly disappointing. Despite being crowded, staff handled everything very well. - During my stay as part of a Diamond privilege package, there was complimentary drink service at the footbath terrace and late check-out included; however, it’s unfortunate these perks are no longer offered now. The terrace has an amazing view and is highly recommended—having tickets or incentives would make visiting even more appealing. There are many accommodations in Tokachi; however, this is definitely a hotel I’d like to stay at again! I hope they continue providing warm hospitality without becoming overly modernized or impersonal over time.

    Promising to return

    We stayed as a family of three, including my wife, son, and myself. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed relaxing in the Onsen with beautiful views. The large bridge and river visible from the window were stunning. Both my wife and son expressed their desire to stay another night. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, we had to leave earlier than we wished. We departed with a promise to return again.

    Anniversary Trip

    First time at Tokachigawa Onsen. The charm of a long-established inn was evident, and the facility and room were well-maintained and clean. The moor onsen and meals were highly satisfying. I was delighted to receive a surprise dessert plate during dinner. Above all, the staff's thoughtful hospitality was exceptional, making my stay very comfortable. Thank you very much!

    We visited for a tri...

    We visited for a trip to celebrate my daughter's birthday. When I called due to her sudden illness, I was deeply moved by the warm words of support. Thankfully, she recovered, and we were able to visit as planned. Having stayed here several times before, I can say the quality of the Onsen is always excellent, and the buffet is delicious. It’s truly a wonderful accommodation. We will definitely stay again when visiting Obihiro. Thank you for your continued hospitality!

    All are highly recommended.

    This is my fourth stay. I think it is an excellent hotel. The bath is simply amazing. The moor onsen leaves your skin smooth and silky, making you want to bathe multiple times. Dinner was a buffet, but the dishes were refined and made with quality ingredients, so there were no disappointments. Best of all, drinks, including alcohol, are free-flowing. Breakfast was also delicious. The rice balls were exceptional and left my husband deeply impressed. All the staff members were pleasant; even the cleaning staff kindly said "Take care!" to us as we passed by. It may seem like a small thing, but it speaks volumes about the high standards of this hotel. I've already made a reservation for autumn! Looking forward to staying again!

    Mor Onsen truly stands out.

    We stayed as a couple. The reserved room felt a bit old, and there was an odor coming from the bathroom curtain, so we requested a room change. Fortunately, the staff was very accommodating, and the new room was comfortable with no issues. The onsen water was the best we've ever experienced. The meals were buffet-style with many delicious options, and my husband especially enjoyed the all-you-can-drink option. We would love to visit again next time!

    It was a wonderful stay.

    Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful hotel with my family of six for a 2-night, 3-day trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the moor onsen, buffet-style breakfast and dinner, and the overall experience. From the reservation stage, communication via email regarding dates and number of guests was handled very politely and flexibly. Even though we were booking from overseas, it felt very reassuring. The staff members were professional across all ages and roles, making our stay extremely pleasant. For my elderly father, they immediately provided a wheelchair upon arrival. During meals, he was able to use a walker with an attached small table to pick up his favorite dishes himself—truly thoughtful service. On the second morning after breakfast when I was relaxing in the footbath while reading a newspaper in the lobby alone, one of the staff kindly brought me hot tea with a warm "Please take your time," which deeply moved me. Of course, we also enjoyed the much-anticipated moor onsen; everything was well-maintained and clean. The meals were excellent as well—especially dinner with free drinks included had an impressive variety of options! By checkout time, I genuinely felt glad that we limited our stay to just two nights because it left us wanting more. A local resident even told us during our trip that we had chosen "the best place to stay," which I wholeheartedly agreed with. This has become a hotel where I absolutely want to stay again when visiting home next time. Thank you so much!

    Moor Onsen is a one-of-a-kind Onsen.

    This was my first trip to the Tokachi area. A friend recommended the Tokachi Onsen, and I was really looking forward to it—it exceeded my expectations. The plant-derived moor onsen water was so smooth and relaxing that I could have stayed in it forever. The outdoor bath had the perfect temperature, allowing me to enjoy a wonderful time under the starry sky. My room also had a private bath where I could soak at my leisure. I purchased moor onsen-infused lotion as a souvenir for myself after trying it from the amenities provided in the room. I rated the facility 4 stars because of one issue: when someone drained their indoor bath on an upper floor, there was loud drainage noise that lasted quite some time and echoed through our room's ceiling. Other than that, everything else was perfect. For example, when we arrived, there wasn’t a three-person extra bed set up in our room yet—this seemed like thoughtful consideration by the hotel to maintain a relaxing atmosphere upon arrival. After using the outdoor bath, we were offered chilled drinks (I enjoyed azuki tea), which added to their hospitality touches throughout our stay. The reading corner also had an excellent selection of books. Meals were served buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast but at different venues for each meal; warm dishes were served fresh at both locations. At dinner, I loved the sautéed sea bream; at breakfast, they made me an "oyako" rice ball (with salmon roe and salmon) upon recommendation—it was absolutely delicious! There were plenty of other flavorful dishes highlighting quality ingredients as well. Dinner included free-flow alcohol with sake from my favorite brewery—a luxurious treat! However, I gave 4 stars because desserts could use more variety or creativity; though I did enjoy their cream puffs very much! Since I'm not much of a drinker, having more dessert options would have been nice. From arrival to departure, this accommodation showcased exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. The view from our riverside room felt almost timelessly serene while browsing unique items in their souvenir shop—some unavailable even at local roadside stations—was delightful too! This has become one of my favorite hotels where I'd love to stay again someday—the moor onsen is now officially my all-time favorite hot spring experience! Next time I'd like to try out their footbath café as well. Thank you very much for your wonderful service during this visit!

    The staff were all lively and enthusiastic.

    This was my first time staying here. The staff seemed lively and genuinely enjoying their work, which left a great impression. The waterfall open-air bath gave a unique sensation, almost like being inside a pond, and its charm rivaled even the open-air baths with close-up views of Mt. Fuji. I would love to visit again in winter, autumn, and summer. The reason for giving "4" for the meals is due to the loud foreign language conversations happening at nearby tables during the breakfast buffet. While this is not the Hotel's fault, it was slightly disappointing.

    Disappointing Hospitality

    During my stay, while using the onsen at night, I picked up the conditioner (Pearl Elegance) from the shampoo bar. Since the bottle was not properly closed, a large amount of conditioner fell onto my right foot, causing a bruise. The conditioner also spilled everywhere, and I had to clean it up, which was very unpleasant. When returning to my room, I informed the male staff member on night duty about this incident. He only handed me a cold compress and said, "If you need anything else, please come to the front desk." He did not check my injury or ask for my room number, which felt unkind. Honestly, I doubted that this matter would be reported to higher management. At checkout, I submitted a guest survey form. The next day, someone from the hotel called me; however, as I couldn’t answer at that time, they left a voicemail saying: "We are calling to apologize for what happened. As it is late today already, we will contact you again tomorrow." However, no call came the following day despite waiting for it. It was disappointing because although the onsen was excellent overall; this experience negatively impacted my stay.

    Reliable Satisfaction

    Every meal is delicious, and the atmosphere allows for a relaxing time. This time, our dinner table was not by the window, but we didn’t mind and enjoyed our meal. We noticed some guests near the entrance voicing complaints to the staff. While overhearing their concerns, I could somewhat understand their feelings and found myself smiling wryly inside. From the Hotel's perspective, both international guests and frequent local visitors are equally important customers. Perhaps those guests were regulars who felt overlooked or unappreciated, which might have made them upset. Listening to their conversation made me reflect on how challenging it must be for hotels to cater to such diverse needs. On a personal note, I wish we had been seated further away from a loud group during dinner this time. It was unfortunate that my appetite diminished despite how delicious the meal was.

    Buffet

    The buffet here is always my favorite no matter how many times I stay! Everything is delicious, so you can't go wrong with any Room. This time, I chose a Room with an open-air bath at Toyosu-tei but still opted for the buffet. The open-air bath on the first floor is also incredibly relaxing. The Room is new, clean, and offers stunning views—and the fireplace!! It's unique and warm. With late check-out, I was able to take my time; that extra hour makes a big difference! I was also amazed by the heated floor in the shower room—it’s so well thought out! Although the lounge is small, there are no time limits on food and drinks like in some international hotels—it's fantastic. However, one downside remains: the parking spaces are narrow as they seem unchanged from before. This has always been a bit stressful for me. Still, I'll definitely come back again!!

    Favorite Place

    We thoroughly enjoyed the view from the room and the natural flowing Moor Onsen this time as well. This is our favorite accommodation for our travel-loving family. We stay in the same corner suite every year, and the view from the room is absolutely stunning. This year, while admiring the scenery, we found ourselves saying, "This place really is wonderful and so relaxing." The quality of bathrobes and towels in the room has also improved compared to before. The only disappointment was that sparkling wine, which used to be available for free in the lounge, was no longer offered. Additionally, small snacks like cheese or other treats that change depending on timing ran out quickly, which was unfortunate. If the lounge could be a bit more enhanced, it would make everything perfect. We look forward to visiting again!

    Moor Onsen and Accommodation

    I really enjoy Onsen, and I have been visiting Tokachigawa Onsen at least once a year for the past 10 years. Among the accommodations, Toyosutei at Daiichi Hotel is my favorite due to its great views. In the evening, I had a teppanyaki course meal, which was delightful in terms of portion size, freshness, and the enjoyable conversation with the chef. The breakfast buffet was not perfect but still delicious. I would love to visit again.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    This was my first time staying here. It wasn't too crowded, so I could enjoy both the large public bath and dining area without any stress. The open-air bath with a garden in the large public bath was truly impressive. I love saunas, and the Harvia sauna stove with an auto löyly function was exactly to my liking. I also appreciated the reclining chairs for outdoor relaxation. Thank you for upgrading my room as well. I had a relaxing time in a river-side room with a balcony. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again!

    Family Trip

    We stayed to celebrate our university-aged child's birthday. We chose a room on the riverside. Since the weather was nice, we relaxed on the room's terrace right after check-in with delicious Onsen manju and tea. After that, we visited the Onsen. It was spacious, open, and impeccably clean, making for a very pleasant bathing experience. The highlight of our stay was dinner—a luxurious buffet featuring plenty of local ingredients from Tokachi. There were also various types of alcohol to enjoy. The staff paid attention to our table and promptly cleared away dishes as needed. Although there was a photo service offered for birthday celebrations, we completely forgot about it! However, after checking out, they kindly reminded us and gifted us with a lovely photo as a keepsake. It turned out to be an excellent day overall! While passing by another room being cleaned (not on the riverside), I noticed it faced the forest side—it also seemed to have quite a nice view. This is definitely somewhere we'd like to visit again if given the chance. Thank you very much!

    Check-in

    I arrived a bit early this time, but at other Hotels, I could check in and access the Room about 30 minutes before the official time. However, at Daiichi Hotel, I had to wait until the scheduled 3:00 PM as the Room was not ready.

    Enjoy the tranquility and comfort.

    When visiting Tokachi, stay at Hokkaido Hotel and here. We discovered a family with a similar accommodation pattern to ours. It seemed they noticed us too (laughs). As always, the meals were excellent, and this time we enjoyed the Moor Onsen beer. The quality of the hot spring was great, making it easy to doze off. The guests are pleasant, creating a very relaxing atmosphere.

    Onsen is the best!

    This was my first visit in 15 years. Last time was in midsummer, but this time the snowy scenery was also wonderful. The bath in the Room had just the right water temperature, and I soaked multiple times and relaxed. The lounge had fewer items than expected, and as we don't drink alcohol, it felt a bit lacking. We are curious about the buffet as well, so we would like to visit again in another season.

    Is this a dreamland...?

    This trip was an onsen getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday. I’m not sure if it was because I mentioned his birthday when making the Reservation or because I inquired about a birthday cake through the website (though I didn’t receive a reply), but during the final moments of the buffet, they surprised us with a birthday plate for my husband, which truly moved me. Even during breakfast, staff members congratulated him, and their service made me feel like we were in that magical dreamland. Thank you so much for such wonderful hospitality. Choosing a Room with a private open-air bath was absolutely the right decision. The Room was Japanese-style and very clean, leaving us completely satisfied. I can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you very much!

    It was a delightful time.

    Second visit. Dinner was teppanyaki, and I had a wonderful time with the young female chef. I know you're busy, but please take adequate rest before your body feels overwhelmed. This time, I was impressed by the hard work of the young female staff members. Thank you very much. One suggestion: the room's air conditioner could use a bit more cleaning as it was in an unpleasant state when noticed. I'll make another reservation soon. Chef, looking forward to seeing you again and having more conversations!

    The moor Onsen was excellent.

    I stayed at Douyoutei with an Onsen view bath for the first time. Previously, I stayed at Houshutei, but since the open-air bath was outside, it felt a bit cold. This time, with the indoor view bath, I didn’t feel cold at all and it was very pleasant. The meals were buffet-style and included all-you-can-drink alcohol as part of the all-inclusive package. It felt more cost-effective than Houshutei’s lounge, and I could eat as much of my favorite dishes as I wanted. (The lounge offerings have become a bit sparse lately.) From now on, I’d like to stay at Douyoutei again!
