    A Ryokan Shining with Hospitality

    We stayed as a family of five, including our 0-year-old son on his first overnight trip and his grandparents. The staff member who primarily assisted us was incredibly kind and clearly loved babies, providing exceptional care. Our son immediately warmed up to her and was smiling the entire time. ■ About the Room When making the reservation, we requested a microwave for warming baby food, which was kindly prepared in our room upon arrival. The room had a water dispenser, making it easy to prepare milk. We were pleasantly surprised to find Milton (detergent) and a sponge for washing baby bottles at the sink. In the private open-air bath, there was even a baby bathtub and baby body soap! Additionally, they provided items like a bouncer, a simple mat for babies to lie on, and disposal bags (box) for diapers—everything we needed was thoughtfully arranged. ■ About Meals We enjoyed dining in a private room with plenty of space to relax. Every dish served was delicious; the fresh fish and beautiful presentation made it enjoyable just to look at them. Although we brought our own baby food for our son, they provided child-friendly plates, spoons, soft rice with seasoning options so that everyone could enjoy mealtime together as a family. During dinner when our son got restless sitting in his chair and started walking around inside the private room area ("techi-techi"), by breakfast time next morning staff had already removed any potentially dangerous items like decorative jars or teacups from shelves within reach ensuring safe exploration opportunities without worry! ■ About Onsen Onsen temperature felt slightly lower than usual but still effectively warmed bodies gently enough allowing infants safely join too! Public baths alternated between genders offering variety experiences featuring aromatic salt scrubs available throughout facilities personally loved Aloe scent most among choices offered here!. Upon arrival multiple attentive welcoming gestures greeted warmly while departure farewell included both proprietress herself alongside other dedicated team members leaving lasting positive impression overall experience staying Ryokusuitei truly memorable one indeed!. Looking forward returning someday future milestone occasions celebrating again heartfelt hospitality shown entire staff thank-you deeply much appreciated!.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    Recently, I have noticed that many accommodations focus too much on being Instagram-worthy or catering to inbound tourists, neglecting the basics. However, this accommodation offered delicious meals, warm hospitality, and clean rooms—everything was well-maintained and made for a wonderful stay. Given the location, we didn’t have high expectations for the surroundings and chose this place mainly for its meals. We booked the course with three special dishes (abalone, spiny lobster, and Japanese beef), which had the most variety. Even our family of big eaters left completely satisfied. For those with smaller appetites, there is also a course with just one special dish. In the morning, they used the head of last night’s spiny lobster sashimi to prepare a luxurious miso soup—it was absolutely delicious! (For those who aren’t fond of live preparation dishes, you might want to request that they separate out the head from the start.) Even though it was scorching hot in Tokyo during our stay here, there was a refreshing breeze in this area that made it feel cooler. The staff member attending us was Japanese—a rarity these days—and their presence added an extra sense of comfort and reassurance.

    The service provided to children is the best ever.

    The day before our stay, we decided to go to the beach and made a last-minute reservation at this Ryokan. We usually stay at hotels or Baycourt, so it had been a while since we stayed at a Ryokan, but it turned out to be an unforgettable experience! The preparation and hospitality for children were on the highest level compared to any hotel we've stayed at before. It felt so natural and effortless, almost like being cared for by my own mother or a professional childcare worker. It was incredibly comfortable! Of course, everything else besides the care for children was also excellent. Even during the Obon holiday season, the price was reasonable. The meals were abundant in quantity with delicious local ingredients that we thoroughly enjoyed. The onsen in the large public bath was not crowded and very relaxing as well. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and sent off with great hospitality when leaving—receiving chilled water and snacks for our child during our departure left us deeply touched. For those looking for a quiet getaway without kids, we might have caused some inconvenience this time; however, next time we'd love to plan ahead and try staying in another room here. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so moved by this experience that I just had to share it!

    It was a wonderful experience.

    Our family, ranging from a great-grandmother over 90 years old to a 1-year-old great-grandchild, stayed here together. Thanks to the exceptional hospitality of the staff, every member of our family had an incredibly comfortable stay. The attendants actively engaged with the children, and they enjoyed it so much that they cried saying, "We don't want to leave!" Every meal was outstanding, making our three-day stay absolutely satisfying. We will definitely visit again!

    First Stay in Kamogawa

    We stayed as a family of three. I had been wanting to stay here because of the highly-rated reviews. The meals at this ryokan are the highlight, and the grilled spiny lobster with sea urchin was exceptional. The onsen is small, but since there is an onsen in the room as well, it feels sufficient. A staff member is assigned to your room and also serves private meals for you. Until now, we have visited onsen areas like Nasu, Nikko Kinugawa, and Urabandai, but considering its convenient location, we would like to include Kamogawa and Katsuura in our future options.

    Accommodation enjoyable for all generations

    This was our first time staying at this accommodation. We visited as a three-generation family trip. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff and the hostess. Since we had a pregnant family member and a small child, we were guided to a room located near the entrance of the facility, making it very convenient and helpful for us to move around inside. Room: The room was very spacious, accommodating all six of us comfortably. The children were thrilled with how much space they had to move around. Since the entire facility is covered in tatami mats, there was no need for slippers, which made it comfortable for everyone—especially the children who enjoyed relaxing on the tatami mats. The private bath in our room was excellent; the water temperature was just right and very soothing. The garden was also expansive, and enjoying some quiet time on the terrace in the morning felt like pure bliss. Being surrounded by nature means that insects might enter if you leave windows open; however, insect repellents are provided in each room for those concerned. Meals: Meals are served in private dining rooms rather than your own room. Every dish was exquisite—not only delicious but also beautifully presented with fresh vegetables, fish, and meat that brought so much happiness to our table! The portions were generous enough that we didn’t order separate meals for our child but shared from ours instead—and even then, our one-year-old ate plenty of vegetables happily while saying how delicious everything tasted! It’s rare to see such joy from both kids and adults alike over food—our whole family left completely satisfied! Our assigned staff member went above and beyond with their hospitality—calling our child by name and paying close attention to every detail—which made us feel truly grateful. Public Bath: As this is a smaller accommodation facility overall, its public bath isn’t particularly large but has an inviting atmosphere that makes it enjoyable nonetheless. There’s also a small pond filled with koi fish in an inner courtyard within the premises—a serene sight that brings peace just watching them swim gracefully. As we departed, they even prepared chilled bottled water for each person—a thoughtful touch until our final moments there! It’s safe to say this accommodation left every member of my family delighted—we’re already looking forward to returning someday soon! Please note: There isn’t much around this location itself; therefore not ideal if you’re seeking activities nearby (though Kamogawa Sea World is about 15 minutes away by car). For those wanting quality relaxation time within their rooms or peaceful surroundings—it comes highly recommended!

    Excellent service

    We visited with my husband's parents, my husband, and our daughter. The facility was impeccably clean, including both the large public bath and the private Room bath, and the tatami-covered hallways were very pleasant. The large public bath was well-equipped with amenities like massage salt, which even our daughter enjoyed. The Onsen temperature was just right for a long soak. The meals were delicious and highly satisfying, but what stood out most was the kindness of the staff who explained the dishes to my in-laws in detail and offered subtle assistance when needed. Their hospitality was truly appreciated. My in-laws mentioned that while everything exceeded their expectations, it was the warm service that made them happiest of all. On our way out, one of the staff kindly offered to take a family photo for us. We would love to visit again!

    This is true "Omotenashi" hospitality!

    We stayed as a family to celebrate my mother's birthday. The heartfelt hospitality from the staff, including the hostess, made it a wonderful experience. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were excellent and very satisfying. One concern was that the building we stayed in (possibly the main building?) seemed aged, and there was a noticeable smell in the room and hallway. I would recommend staying in rooms located in newer buildings. While there were plenty of amenities provided for both rooms and baths, I think it might be better to offer only essential items since many women tend to bring their own skincare or haircare products they usually use. Additionally, I felt it would be nice if the post-bath lounge could stay open later than 10:00 PM. Overall though, I was very satisfied with the heartfelt hospitality and meals offered at this accommodation—it’s great value for money! Choosing Ryokusuitei turned out to be an excellent decision! It became a memorable birthday celebration for us!

    The highlight was the exceptional service by the staff. Their hospitality towards our 5-year-old child was impeccable. Coming from Hotel Mikazuki, we were concerned about how our child would adjust, but their level of service exceeded expectations. In terms of facilities, the room had picture books, Blu-ray, and Netflix access in the relaxation area, which kept our child entertained and satisfied. The meals lived up to their reviews with excellent ingredients and just the right portions. For children, there was an extravagant large plate featuring a full set of favorite and luxurious ingredients—likely designed to ensure even picky eaters could find something they liked. Usually, I finish any food my child leaves behind; however, this time it was impossible due to the generous portions. I do wonder how leftover food is handled as waste disposal concerns me personally. As for the private bath in our room—it was spacious enough for someone under 170 cm tall to stretch out comfortably and very clean. The public bath was average but sufficient. Both baths used onsen water with a clear appearance that left skin feeling warm and moisturized after bathing. The tatami flooring in the room was spacious; futons were fluffy; pillows included both memory foam and standard options for a comfortable sleep. Above all else, thank you so much to our assigned staff member! Your outstanding hospitality made us forget any minor issues mentioned below. The reason for not giving a perfect score is that after checking in at 3 PM, we noticed hair scattered on an unused sink chair—a cleanliness oversight—and some staff members lacked welcoming smiles during greetings which slightly dampened our mood.

    I had a quiet and relaxing time. The amenities were thoughtfully selected, especially appreciated by women. Being able to move around the accommodation without slippers was also a plus!     At Kamogawa Sea World

    I wanted to visit Kamogawa Sea World, but I preferred a place surrounded by greenery rather than by the sea, so I chose this highly-rated accommodation. It was truly a wonderful stay. The food was absolutely delicious! Accommodations near the sea often focus on seafood, but my husband and I get tired of eating only fish. We appreciated that there were plenty of vegetables and that we could choose meat as the main dish! The spiny lobster was also delightful. Although we couldn’t finish everything, it was all very tasty. Additionally, the sake and wine we ordered separately were excellent. The staff at the accommodation warmly welcomed us and even doted on our 2-year-old son, who likely caused some trouble for them. It felt less like typical ryokan hospitality and more like being genuinely welcomed as people. There were many koi fish in the pond, which thrilled our fish-loving son. We forgot to bring toys for him but he enjoyed watching the koi instead. The baby-related facilities were perfect; we didn’t feel any inconvenience at all. Also, is everything new? The facility was clean and well-maintained with impeccable housekeeping. We didn’t use the large bath area so I can’t comment on it, but it seemed suitable for families with children. Kamogawa Sea World is about a 10-minute drive away. There’s also a convenience store and a beach for walking just 3 minutes away by car. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Kamogawa Sea World. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful Room.

    A wonderful accommodation that makes you want to stay in and relax. The perfect facilities make it satisfying even without leaving the room. The beer service at the lounge was great for relaxing while reading the newspaper. The bath was enjoyable with bath salts provided. However, it was disappointing not to be able to enjoy the view from the open-air bath. Considering the luxurious feel of the room, it would be nice if there were improvements in taste and menu selection for the meals. It is a fantastic accommodation, but staff service could use some improvement.

    As always, the meals were well-balanced in variety and quality, and very delicious. The bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.     It was my first time staying at an accommodation in Chiba Prefecture during a trip to find honey. The room was clean, and with the private bath, sauna, and large public bath, it was a busy one-night stay. The onsen had a slight slipperiness and provided wonderfully warming water.     I discovered this accommodation while planning my first trip to the Boso Peninsula, drawn by its high reviews, especially for its meals. Though it has a modest size with only 15 rooms, the rooms are spacious and clean. I particularly enjoyed the comfort of removing shoes at the entrance and walking on tatami from the hallway to the room. Seasonal flowers arranged in the hallways added a thoughtful touch of hospitality. We traveled from Japan's Sea of Japan side in search of spring, but unfortunately, it rained on our arrival day. However, both the presentation and taste of the meals allowed us to feel spring through food. The staff who assisted us was cheerful and provided detailed explanations about each dish as well as answers to our questions about local attractions beyond just dining. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable experiences. The Japanese-style bouillabaisse with rich dashi flavor was delicious! Additionally, we appreciated their consideration for my husband’s dislike of shiitake mushrooms; this thoughtful gesture by the chef made him very happy. The bath is not large but features soft water that left my skin feeling smooth. A small yet memorable detail was how thick and fluffy bath towels were thoughtfully placed in the bathroom—this left a positive impression. Although it was just a one-night stay, we felt rejuvenated both physically and mentally before heading to our next destination. Thank you very much!

    Celebration of Mother's 80th Birthday

    We used this facility to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and allowed us to relax comfortably. The Onsen had excellent water quality, and the large public bath was almost like a private experience. We also enjoyed the bath in the Room, indulging in an Onsen-filled experience. The meals were fresh and luxurious, with charming presentation and plating, leaving us very satisfied. Above all, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding. It was heartwarming to feel that they were genuinely thinking about how to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They gave my mother a thoughtful gift, and answered our detailed questions about the meals and sightseeing with great care. We created wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

    Enjoyed fresh seafood and Onsen.

    This New Year's holiday, I visited the Boso Peninsula for the first time in a while. I chose this place on the outer coast because the reviews on IKYU were good. Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately and checked in at the room. Although it wasn't a nice view being in the mountains, we quickly headed to the large public bath. The large public bath wasn't very spacious, possibly due to the limited number of rooms, but the water was nice. However, the changing room was narrow with only two (or three) sinks. There were plenty of towels available. Considering the current times, I think the lockers should have keys. The post-bath relaxation area was small but had a water and beer server, offering unlimited drinks. Dinner was served in a private counter-style room for two (which might be a bit tight for larger individuals). This time, we enjoyed a course featuring Ise lobster, abalone, and turban shell, each prepared in different ways. There was also a half-bottle of sparkling wine, which was helpful since my companion doesn't drink. Breakfast included Ise lobster miso soup from the previous night, fresh namero, and various accompaniments for rice, thoughtfully prepared. The staff, all Japanese (probably everyone), were rare these days and responded pleasantly. In addition to the changing room lockers, if I were to suggest improvements, it would be the following points: The room we used had futons laid out on tatami mats, which were comfortable to sleep on. However, perhaps due to the renovation of an old building, we could hear the thumping sounds from the adjacent room several times during the night. While the hallway was fine, the tatami in the room was styrofoam-like without any artwork, and the bench seat was covered in vinyl that looked like cloth. Since the website advertises it as a luxury ryokan, it felt a bit out of place. I thought it would be nice to have one of the fresh flowers placed here and there in the hallway in the room as well. There are many splendid koi swimming in the courtyard pond, but it's a shame there's no lounge-like space to view them leisurely. As others have commented, I hope they make more effort in selecting sizes for the samue (at least M and L) and amenities (instead of offering casual lines from 3-4 companies, having one high-brand option would be better). Personally, while the water server in the room is helpful, since we were setting off on a drive, it would be great to have a paper-packaged bottle that could be taken along the journey, especially on roads without convenience stores for a while.     The best stay

    Second visit! Every meal was absolutely delicious, everything was kept clean, and the flowers were beautifully arranged, making for a perfect stay. I was able to spend a wonderful time with my father and family. I think the cost performance is excellent!

    The facility, bath, service, and meals were all very good. However, the usage of the lounge was not quite satisfactory. There was only draft beer available, and no snacks at all. Overall, the ryokan was excellent, so I plan to visit in the spring.

    There were many subtle attentions to detail.

    We arrived a little earlier than planned, but we were kindly shown to our room. The bath in the room was already filled and at a comfortable temperature. Feeling a bit apologetic, we headed to the large public bath. The Onsen was gentle on the skin, not too hot, and slightly relaxing. It was very soothing as we could soak for a long time. The tatami-floored large public bath was also good as it wasn't slippery underfoot, so there was no fear of slipping. The meals were delicious as per the reviews, and we were delighted with the matsutake mushroom dobin mushi. The seasoning and balance of flavors were well done, and the careful preparation was evident in the taste. The beautiful tableware was also a nice touch! The coffee maker was filled with plenty of water, so we could set the capsule and enjoy a drink right away. There were many thoughtful touches that made us think, "I wish every place had this!" and we had a very pleasant stay.
