    It was very comfortable.

    Thanks to you, we had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay. We were satisfied with everything—the Hotel’s overall atmosphere and design, the Room’s comfort, the view, the food, and the excellent service from all staff. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed for two nights. There were four adults in one Room (Garden Twin), but even with four beds it didn’t feel cramped, and we were able to relax comfortably. Since it was a family trip, the spacious open closet was also great for preventing forgotten items. Each bed had its own power outlets, which was extremely convenient. We expected a garden-side Room, but we could also see the ocean from the balcony, which was wonderful. I also personally liked that you can choose only the services you need at check-in. Since I usually carry a water bottle, I really appreciated the water dispenser service available in the Hotel. We were able to enjoy plenty of delicious water. It would have been nice if the provided pitcher were a bit larger, but there were two so it wasn’t inconvenient. They were acrylic, so there was no worry about breaking when carrying them around, and they looked stylish as well. It was also fun to boil water in the cute De’Longhi thermos kettle and enjoy tea. As is common at many Resort Hotels these days, the pajamas here were very comfortable and helped me sleep soundly. A small detail, but both the Room trash bin and the bathroom trash bin had liners properly fitted, which made them easy to use. Breakfast around 8:00 was slightly crowded and there was some waiting time, but once we were seated we could relax at ease. We chose Western-style breakfast on day one and Japanese-style on day two; both were delicious and very filling. For dinner we chose BBQ, and on the second night they changed up the ingredients so we could enjoy something different. The carefully selected seafood and meat were all delicious, and there was more than enough food including rice and dessert. On the second night it felt like we had a private setting, and we truly appreciated all of the staff’s help. There is also a large public bath; it wasn’t an Onsen, but it was clean and relaxing, so we were satisfied. All of the staff members were pleasant as well—they spoke to us thoughtfully when needed without being intrusive—so we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility offerings and services felt just right—not too much or too little—and it felt like a Hotel where you can relax at your own pace. It rained on our first day, but early on our second morning there was sunshower weather and we got to see a rainbow. We’d love to come back in another season to enjoy both morning and evening ocean views again.

    We had a wonderful family holiday.

    We stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room with three adults. There was a possibility it could become four, so we exchanged emails in advance, and they replied politely and accurately. The Japanese-Western style Room does not have an ocean view, but with two beds and tatami flooring, it can accommodate up to four people. We appreciated the flexibility to adjust the number of guests (we changed our Reservation from another Hotel for this reason). The Room, exterior walls, and large public bath did not feel old at all. We assumed this is because renovations are being carried out gradually. Just as advertised with its Southern European style, it felt like being abroad. In particular, viewing the fountain courtyard of the Garden Wing from the two-story corridor surrounding the garden was wonderful—the breeze through the open space was so pleasant that we lost track of time. We also appreciated that the Room amenities were well stocked, including coffee, black tea, Japanese tea, and pajamas. Next time, we would like to stay in a Villa.

    Dog-Friendly Room

    This was the cleanest pet-friendly Room I have stayed in so far. There were no unpleasant odors, and I was able to spend my time comfortably. Breakfast was an elegant course-style menu that left both my stomach and heart satisfied.

    Our Okinawa trip was canceled due to a typhoon, so we quickly planned a last-minute getaway for two housewives.

    As expected from the Miyako Hotel group, the service was attentive and thorough (the doorman, front desk, and restaurant staff). The building was spacious, and everything was clean throughout. ●Regarding the guest room, it would have been nicer if the flooring had been real wood rather than plywood. A small drying rack for swimsuits would also have been helpful. ●The large public bath was clean and spacious, which was great. However, it was very disappointing that it closes at 10:00 p.m., which feels too early. ●There were slightly too few deck chairs by the pool. For alcohol at the poolside bar, it would have been better if prices were kept to 1,000 yen or less and if there were a wider menu selection. The bar staff were often not present, which made it difficult to order. ●As for breakfast, although we had been informed in advance, it was disappointing that going a bit later meant there were times when we had to wait nearly 30 minutes. We came by car and didn’t have a fixed schedule so it wasn’t an issue for us, but I imagine it could be inconvenient for guests with train times or other plans. That said, since this is a resort stay, I don’t want to set an alarm and wake up early just to avoid crowds at breakfast either. We stayed for three nights as a Multiple Night Stay; on the third day you changed up the meal contents slightly, and we truly appreciated your thoughtfulness.

    I stayed in the Gard...

    I stayed in the Garden Twin Room. The Room had been renovated and was clean, but the garden was on the entrance side, and the balcony side faced the parking lot. The balcony was spacious and had a table and chairs, but we didn’t end up going out there. The conditioner was too watery to use, but the amenities were well stocked, including a DHC skincare set. We chose the Western-style breakfast. When we arrived before 9:00 a.m., we were told there were about 10 parties ahead of us, and we received a call about an hour later.

    Night pool!

    We stayed here for a family trip during summer vacation. The outdoor pool can be enjoyed not only during the day, but also as a night pool from 19:30 to 21:30 (for junior high school students and older only; 3,500 yen). The night pool requires one drink per person. In addition to cocktails, stylish-looking non-alcoholic options are also available. It was especially nice that you can enjoy drinks in your swimsuit not only on the terrace but also at the in-water counter (bar stools set in the water). There are plenty of photo-worthy lights around the area, and even floating lights in the water can have their colors and blinking changed via a switch on the bottom, which made it fun to create great shots. It also felt very considerate that you can use the pool both in the morning and afternoon on your checkout day. Lastly, about breakfast: seating gets crowded, but you should definitely order the Western-style set! I think you’ll be satisfied with the presentation, experience, and taste. I also appreciated that they called our Room via internal phone when it was time.

    A Hotel with a Stunning Ago Bay View

    The view of Ago Bay from the entrance lobby was stunning. After walking down the stairs to the water’s edge and looking back up, the full Spanish-style Hotel building was truly impressive. The building is a bit old, but it has been well renovated and thoroughly cleaned. The Room, bath, and washroom were all spacious, and I liked the blue-themed interior in the Room. The terrace was also large. Dinner was served at a good pace and everything was delicious; however, since it was still before sunset, the window-side seats felt quite warm. Breakfast was also very good.

    We enjoyed a resort-like atmosphere.

    This Hotel was even more wonderful than I imagined. It felt like staying at an overseas Resort Hotel. While waiting for the return shuttle bus, the staff kindly guided us so we wouldn’t have to wait outside in the heat, and we truly appreciated that thoughtful care. Thank you. We chose the mountain side, and there was a tennis court right in front of us, so next time we would like to stay in a Room with a view of Ago Bay.

    It was extremely disappointing.

    The front desk staff were not helpful at all. As soon as I entered the cottage Room, there was a very unpleasant smell. However, the Hotel also has newly renovated Rooms, so I might have been more satisfied if I had stayed in one of those. Even the most luxurious meal was not satisfying at all. The only good thing was the sauna—it was almost private and pleasantly very hot. I visited for a preview trip before traveling with my son’s family in September, but I was not satisfied at all, so I Cancelled the Reservation. So for September, I made a Reservation at a different Hotel.

    Thank you for a wonderful, private stay.

    The meals were simply outstanding! Dining in a spacious setting separated by rattan partitions that block views of neighboring tables felt almost like having a private room, and the ocean-view location and comfortable seating made it even better. It truly felt like a private space without worrying about those around us. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, packed with plenty of seasonal local ingredients, and enjoyable both visually and on the palate. The timing of each freshly served warm dish was perfect, making for an exceptional dinner. Thank you for such a wonderful time! I’d love to stay again just for this cuisine. The only minor drawback was that the scent upon entering the lobby was a bit strong and not to my personal taste.

    Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

    The French “Harmony” course was delicious—especially the foie gras wrapped in a crêpe, which paired perfectly with the rum sauce. The bread was also tasty and filling, and it was nice that the dessert was mini-sized and refreshing. Breakfast was great as well; the toasted bread was delicious, and we appreciated being able to get refills of bread, salad, coffee, and tea. We checked in after 17:30. With IKYU’s Diamond benefits, checkout was at 12:00, but we had plans and left at 9:00. It’s rare for us to have such a short stay, but we were very satisfied thanks to the excellent dinner and breakfast.

    We stayed with our dog. The Facility was well maintained, the scenery was beautiful, and it truly felt like a resort—our whole family was very satisfied. Our dog loved the courtyard and was so happy he was practically jumping for joy.

    Better than expected.

    It was our first stay. We had expected more younger guests, but perhaps because it was a weekday, there were many older guests like us. With the expansive grounds and a design and layout reminiscent of Southern Europe, we could really feel the strength and comfort of the Kintetsu Group, and we were able to relax at a very leisurely pace. For a Hotel with over 100 Rooms, we had worried (based on a Review) that the large public bath might be small, but when we went it wasn’t crowded and we could enjoy it slowly. However, it was disappointing that it is not an Onsen. Our luggage was carried to our Room, but there was no welcome drink, and even the water for making coffee in the Room had to be fetched ourselves from a server—only one per floor. Our Room was Ocean Wing No. 201; it had an ocean view and was spacious and bright. The sofa and table were designed to make it easy to place luggage, so it was very comfortable. That said, considering the recent renovation, it was disappointing that the toilet did not flush automatically, and we also noticed an odor from the pillows. Dinner in the restaurant had a calm atmosphere, and dishes such as spiny lobster (Ise-ebi) and Matsusaka beef were delicious; however, there was only one small piece of abalone in the soup (though there was a large clam instead). Breakfast was not buffet-style; set items were brought to us, with various types of bread to choose from (toasting available), four kinds of juice (smoothies), four kinds of butter(?), plus high-quality sausages and ham—better than an ordinary buffet format. We arrived before 8:00 and waited briefly; although plenty of seats were available, they may have been considerate about seating us by a window with a view whenever possible. This time we stayed at a low price thanks to a sale discount, but for this price level the overall value felt excellent. Next time I’d like to bring my grandchild as well—and try fishing too (apparently you can do it on rafts in front of the Hotel).

    Great value for money

    We arrived by car, and the staff kindly took our luggage at the entrance and brought it to our Room ahead of us. I had back pain, so I really appreciated it. The male staff at the front desk handled our check-in, but they seemed to have forgotten about the Diamond benefits until we asked, which was a bit disappointing. However, the food was delicious and the Room was clean, so overall it was good.

    The meals were excellent.

    My husband and I visited Shima on this trip. The Room was very spacious, with four cushions on the tatami, and it was so relaxing to lie down and unwind. It would have been even better if there had been an open-air bath. Also, it would be wonderful if the lockers in the changing area could be locked. While waiting for breakfast, my husband and I were talking about the morning meal at Kitano Hotel in Kobe and how we wanted to go someday—so we were truly amazed to find a breakfast that was surprisingly similar. The smoothie was delicious as well, and we’d love to visit again next time. Next time, I’d like to bring our grandchildren too.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    This was my first visit. I was shown to the wrong Room, and since I had already unpacked, having to move was disappointing. After I had settled in, I thought something felt off and called the front desk. If possible, I would have liked the front desk staff to recheck the Reservation details carefully at check-in and address it right away. However, at check-out, a kind gentleman at the front desk (who helped with luggage shipping and lent me a pen) and a woman beside him both apologized politely, so in the end I did not feel uncomfortable. The Room I originally reserved was wonderful. I was truly moved to be able to see a sky full of stars late at night. However, insects came into the bright Room at night, which was the only disappointment. I used plenty of insect repellent spray and went out onto the balcony to enjoy the stars. It may be unavoidable due to the location, but I hoped there could be some additional measures besides insect repellent spray. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent—the restaurant was lovely, the food was delicious, and the service was kind. We were very satisfied. Sorry for writing so much in detail. Thank you very much for your hospitality during our stay.

    Stay with us on your first trip to Shima.

    Shima is a scenic tourist destination dotted with Resort Hotels, and among them we stayed at the Miyako Hotel, which was easy to use and felt very much like Shima. Our attendant was a foreign staff member, but their explanations were fairly clear, so we didn’t get lost inside the building. The dining venue changed between dinner and breakfast, and the breakfast location in particular was excellent. It was disappointing that the souvenir shop happened to be closed. Service was also rather minimal—perhaps that’s typical for a resort area.

    Southern Europe—by car!

    It was a comfortable day at this well-designed Hotel, with great attention to location and layout. The dishes featuring spiny lobster, Matsusaka beef, and abalone were cooked perfectly, and the three of us in the family were very satisfied. However, there are some points I would like to see improved: - The in-house BGM volume was too loud. - Breakfast took far too long. Even though tables were available, we had to wait a long time to be seated. - Cleaning the floor with a broom and dustpan during the meal is unacceptable. - Although the food was delicious, the staff did not smile and spoke too fast (without checking our understanding), so it was often hard to catch what they said. - The Wi-Fi did not connect at all, and even after calling staff there was no improvement.

    We were very satisfied with the stunning views and the well-maintained facilities.

    It was convenient to be able to travel directly to and from Ise Grand Shrine by Pearl Shuttle Bus. The Japanese-style dinner and Western-style breakfast were delicious. For the Western-style dinner, the meat dish could use a bit more creativity.

    The Room was bright and very comfortable.

    It was a Plan that included breakfast only, but we bought some tasty food along the way and enjoyed it in the Room. The Room was bright and easy to use. Breakfast was also very delicious. However, the plumbing Facility felt a bit old, and it was difficult to adjust the water temperature.

    The location was wonderful.

    The location was excellent, and we had a very pleasant stay. The front desk staff were courteous and left a great impression. It was also wonderful that the Room and the large public bath were thoroughly cleaned, making our stay very comfortable. On the other hand, there were a few disappointing points regarding dinner. The bread was small and hard, and the portion felt insufficient. Even though we finished the bread early, we were not offered any additional servings, which stood out. In addition, a young couple seated next to us arrived later wearing very strong perfume, which prevented us from fully enjoying the flavor of the main meat dish. We believe that consideration such as seating arrangements during guidance would make dining more comfortable. Breakfast, however, was very delicious, and we enjoyed plenty of soft bread. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and we hope to see even better service in the future.

    Feels like the South of France? I truly enjoyed the atmosphere of an overseas getaway.

    It was my first time back in Kashikojima in 15 years, and I still remember how excited I felt staying at the Shima Kanko Hotel with my sister and her husband—famous as a favorite of the “Karei naru Ichizoku.” This time, I learned for the first time that there is another Hotel in the same group. Since COVID, I’ve traveled overseas far less, and because I love cruises, I’ve been missing an Aegean Sea cruise. I traveled solo this time, but next time I’d love to visit with my husband and family. People say, “Even if you imagine the Aegean Sea, it’s still rafts,” but that’s exactly what makes Ago Bay so special—and it had its own charm. When I stepped out onto the Room balcony, a Japanese bush warbler sang beautifully, and I found myself listening in awe. The Hotel has a large public bath that looked wonderful, but the bath in my Room was also great—and I was delighted to find Mikimoto pearl-bath bath salts provided. It truly felt like discovering a wonderful Hotel.

    Tranquil

    We had a truly wonderful stay. While the cherry blossoms here were still in bud, at Shima Bayside the petals were gently fluttering down, and we enjoyed three peaceful days. We were able to relax completely and feel refreshed. The calm seaside views were lovely. It’s a bit far, but it’s definitely a place we’d like to visit again.

    The Facility feels a bit dated, but it is clean and not uncomfortable. Are there too few staff for the number of guests? I arrived at the restaurant at 7:06 a.m., but there was already a line and I waited 25 minutes. I also wonder why we need to show a paper ticket in the morning (you could tell from the Room number whether breakfast is included). The music playing all the time didn’t quite fit the atmosphere. Classical or piano music would be better, and having a space for live performances might add a sense of elegance. The front desk staff were efficient and gave a fresh, pleasant impression. The food is delicious, but each dish is small… maybe due to budget constraints, since costs are rising. It was disappointing that quite a few people came to the restaurant in sandals even though we were warned at check-in. Everyone should listen to what the front desk staff say. Also, there is a lot of pollen, so I wouldn’t recommend it during pollen season.

    The view is spectacular.

    We stayed in the villa for two nights with five people, including our grandchild. The Rooms are split between upstairs and downstairs: the living space is upstairs and the bathroom/water area is downstairs, so going up and down the stairs many times was tiring. Also, there was an issue with the bathroom faucet, so we moved to another villa. However, when we returned from going out the next day, we were surprised to find that the extra bed we had been using had been replaced with a sofa set and was no longer available. We used the extra bed in the other Room instead, but changing room assignments was a hassle. The Spanish-style exterior offers a view over Ago Bay and really gives a resort feel. However, I think the Facility is old.

    Spanish Resort in Shima

    We stayed at Miyako Resort Shima Bayside Terrace over spring break as a family trip with teenagers. The quadruple room was spacious enough for the four of us and was on the ground floor, right next to a beautiful Spanish-style courtyard with citrus trees and lovely evening illumination. We also had a balcony facing the tennis court, and the cherry tree in the backyard was in full bloom. One day of our stay was wet and cold, but we still enjoyed it. The view of Ago Bay from the lobby was breathtaking, and the poolside area was stunning at sunset—and even on a cloudy evening with the nighttime lights. One suggestion for improvement: there is a raised step at the bathroom doorway between the bathroom and the entrance hallway. Our kids didn’t notice it, but it could be tricky for elderly guests. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality—we had a great family time.

    The entire Facility has a Southern European vibe, making you feel like you’re traveling abroad. You’re sure to get excited. We enjoyed the scenery on a walk and took our time over dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious.

    You’ve found your favorite Accommodation.

    At this Hotel, I truly felt the staff’s spirit of hospitality. A courteous pre-stay confirmation call heightened my excitement, my luggage was delivered to my Room during check-in, and the housekeeping staff greeted me not only with “Good morning,” but also with “Did you have a relaxing stay? Thank you very much.” Despite staying on the first day of a three-day holiday weekend, the large public bath was almost private—2 out of 3 visits—and perhaps because it has a villa-like atmosphere, the property was very quiet, allowing me to relax at ease. I’ve finally found a favorite Accommodation near Ise Jingu Shrine—an area where I had struggled to find an Accommodation that truly satisfied me.

    It’s clean, but…

    My first impression upon arrival: a clean Hotel and staff who welcomed us with a natural smile and left a great impression. Because my expectations were too high, the dinner afterward felt disappointing. The menu itself was probably fine, but I was shocked at how small the table was. We had breakfast at the same table as well. I understand it may have been unavoidable since it was a weekend and there were many guests, but it was very disappointing. The view from the Room was wonderful and we were able to relax, so I feel my impression might have been different if we had stayed on a weekday.
