    Completely satisfied

    After sightseeing in Hiroshima City and Onomichi, I stayed at this Ryokan. They prepared a corner room for me, offering an incredible view. The open-air bath on the rooftop, where you can soak while enjoying the breathtaking scenery, was the ultimate luxury. The young female staff member in charge of my room provided excellent service. During dinner at the restaurant "Kairi," she engaged in pleasant conversation and offered exceptional hospitality. Every dish was delicious. Breakfast was my first buffet experience here, with just the right variety of Japanese and Western dishes available. I enjoyed a relaxing breakfast at a large table while gazing out at the sea. Additionally, there were chairs and sofas placed throughout the facility, and I especially loved how comfortable the sofa on the second floor was. This Ryokan is one of my favorites; this was my third stay here. For the first time, I woke up early to watch the sunrise from my room. It’s a place I want to visit again and again!

    Birthday Trip for Parents and Children

    I chose a meal-focused course. After enjoying horse mackerel sashimi, I requested fried chicken, which was gladly accommodated and delicious. The breakfast buffet was so plentiful that I couldn't finish it all, with every dish from fish to vegetables being delightful. Celebrating a birthday with my child and receiving a Bizen ware tumbler as a gift made the experience even more special. The large public bath was almost empty, likely because many guests opted for private baths, allowing me to relax peacefully. The corner Room had an amazing view that was truly soothing. Unfortunately, I couldn't hand in the provided questionnaire; it would have been nice if someone had asked for it at the end. I'd love to visit again during winter when the fish is especially delicious or try your sister inn "Teitei."

    The Room, view, meals, and bath were all completely satisfying.

    I stayed in a premium room on the top floor. The room offered breathtaking scenic views, and the dishes, crafted with care by the head chef, were absolutely delicious—everything was perfect for a truly satisfying night. I also deeply appreciate the meticulous attention given to my wife's allergy needs. We plan to return in January to enjoy fugu cuisine again. One minor concern was with the air conditioning. While it was adjustable in our room and posed no issue there, areas such as private dining rooms, hallways, the lobby, and elevators felt quite stuffy and overly warm at times. If this could be improved, everything would be flawless. Thank you very much!

    Tomo-no-Ura

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The stay at your accommodation added a special touch to the beautiful scenery of Tomonoura, leaving an impression on my heart like a favorite painting. I believe that accommodations that leave a lasting impression share one common trait. While cuisine, onsen, and scenery are important factors when choosing an accommodation and often raise expectations, for me, the highest expectation lies in hospitality. As I experienced at your accommodation, places where staff members frequently greet guests with warm smiles always provide exceptional hospitality and leave me wanting to return again. This time I stayed for work purposes, but next time I plan to visit with my family.

    It was a relaxing accommodation.

    Stayed at this accommodation for my first short trip to Tomonoura. It was a highly cost-effective and relaxing place to stay. The special arrangement for a birthday cake, the room's view of the Seto Inland Sea, the hot spring hopping, and above all, the meals and even a birthday gift made me feel truly pampered with exceptional hospitality. The staff's service went beyond standard procedures and was truly remarkable. Exploring Tomonoura itself was also soothing, making it a wonderful short trip. I look forward to visiting again soon!

    I stayed in an 81 sq...

    I stayed in an 81 sqm Ocean View Room. The view was amazing, and the facilities were excellent. Dinner was very delicious, and the rooftop open-air bath was fantastic. It was quiet and very relaxing. Access to Tomonoura was convenient, and I enjoyed exploring various shops.

    This was my first trip to Hiroshima, and I stayed in Tomonoura. The hotel has an old exterior, but inside it is clean, and the view of the harbor and islands from the lobby is stunning. Of course, the view from the room was also excellent. Dinner was served in a private room, and every dish was delicious and satisfying. Breakfast featured grilled horse mackerel as the main dish, accompanied by several small side dishes perfect for rice. However, I felt one more item would have been nice. The white rice was so delicious that I had seconds, but unfortunately ran out of side dishes at the end—slightly disappointing. Since it’s Japanese-style cuisine, it’s understandable there wasn’t coffee included; however, I thought offering coffee service in the lobby or elsewhere after breakfast would be a great addition to enjoy such a beautiful morning view (preferably complimentary). The onsen's observation bath was honestly small and a bit disappointing; however, the large public bath on the third floor was excellent. The scenery from there is breathtakingly beautiful and very relaxing. Thank you very much!

    An Onsen Accommodation with Delicious Meals

    This was my first stay. The meals were absolutely delicious and exceptional. Every dish had a very delicate flavor. However, the servers were foreign staff, and while I fully understand they were doing their best, please allow me to share my honest impressions. During the course meal, the timing of serving dishes was consistently too fast. Additionally, even though I requested that rice be served separately, it was brought out before I finished the main dish. Some staff members' explanations of the dishes were difficult to understand. Moreover, having 4-5 people standing behind us watching intently made us feel uncomfortable... This happened during both dinner and breakfast. Also, tea was poured into cups to their full capacity. It made me realize how challenging it is for foreign staff to handle Japanese cuisine properly. Because the food itself was outstanding, this aspect gave an impression that somewhat lowered its overall grade. That part alone was disappointing. Other than that, the open-air bath had a great view, and the room was clean and very comfortable for our stay.

    This was my fifth visit. I couldn't find the shuttle service location from the station on IKYU.com, so I called and introduced myself, saying, "I visited last autumn, and at that time it was in front of the bicycle parking area. Is it still there?" The response was curt: "Yes, it's there," but this turned out to be incorrect information. We waited for about 20–30 minutes, but no other guests seemed to show up. After searching on my phone, we finally managed to catch the bus. My elderly mother had rushed to get to the bus stop and ended up feeling tired even before we arrived. Looking back now, I feel I should have double-checked because something felt off about their dismissive response. In the past, I appreciated their polite service... While it might seem presumptuous since it's a free shuttle service, I'm reconsidering whether I'll visit again.

    The Room is clean and tidy.

    Thank you very much for your stay. This was my first time visiting Hiroshima, and I stayed here after staying in the city. I arrived by car, and at first, I felt a bit disappointed by the view of small factories along the way and the slightly old-fashioned hotel lobby. However, thanks to the pleasant service from young staff members and what seemed to be recent renovations, everything was convenient and comfortable. The meals at the dining area were not overly large in portion but very delicious with plenty of vegetables. The staff who served us were polite and even gave us helpful information about sightseeing, which we greatly appreciated. That said, for men, there might have been a bit too much fish; they seemed to feel that more fried or meat dishes would have been better. We had access to the hotel's special lounge—it wasn’t very spacious but offered coffee, drinks, nuts, squid snacks, and small cakes for relaxation. The next morning we took a walk through Tomonoura’s historic streets about 10 minutes away on foot. Since it was a weekday morning most shops weren’t open yet; however, it was quiet with an atmosphere rich in history around its fishing port and temple district. The kindness of people passing by also left a warm impression on us. I’m glad I came here! This hotel is perfect for those looking to relax at their own pace.

    Visited Tomonoura with my sister from Okinawa and me living in Hiroshima. The renovated seaside Room was a corner Room with large windows, offering a spacious and clean atmosphere. We enjoyed walking around Tomonoura, making it a very meaningful trip. The public bath and the open-air bath with a view were quite average. We were looking forward to dinner, but the staff serving us did not explain any of the dishes at all. While other tables received proper explanations, our server said nothing. One male staff member who brought meat simply placed the plate without saying anything! Later on, another female staff member provided some explanations, which slightly improved our mood. However, we couldn’t fully enjoy the delicious food as we barely remembered what we ate due to this experience. This was the only disappointing part of an otherwise wonderful trip.

    Spacious and comfortable Room for relaxation, with an excellent view from the private bath.

    The room was spacious, allowing us to relax comfortably with my spouse, daughter, and grandchild. Dinner was served in the room, letting us enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal. The attention to detail from the accommodation—serving warm dishes warm and cold dishes cold—was impressive, and the cuisine was exquisite. While there were some concerns about the cleanliness of the onsen in the large public bath, the private bath attached to our room was spacious with glass walls offering a stunning ocean view, making it a relaxing experience. This has become one of our family's favorite accommodations that we would love to visit again.

    A Long-Awaited Trip

    A long-awaited trip with my old club friends from my student days. Since it was a celebration for a 65th birthday, we chose the great-value kaiseki meal plan. The food was very fresh and delicious! Thank you for the celebratory gift (Bizen ware). We were also given a Room on an upper floor, and the view was amazing! The only reason I gave 4 stars is that I noticed the noise from the Room humidifier. It’s a Hotel that makes me want to visit again.

    The finest kaiseki cuisine?

    The highest-grade meal, "Takumi," was ordered, but both the quality and quantity were disappointing. This was a 4-day, 3-night trip, and we stayed at this hotel on the first night. If the meals at the other accommodations were rated a 5, this would barely be a 3. Despite being the most expensive stay of the trip. It was advertised as private dining; however, what they called "private" was just partitions that were see-through enough to not only hear voices but also see people eating next to you. Simply dividing spaces does not make it private dining in my opinion. Breakfast felt like an example of poor rural Onsen Ryokan cuisine—only a small mackerel as a side dish—and I ended up leaving behind rice cooked in what should have been an excellent pot. This is definitely not a hotel that can pride itself on its food. I will never stay here again.

    The Hotel itself was excellent in terms of meals, Onsen, Facility, and service. However, the surrounding area was desolate with almost no tourist attractions and hardly any dining options apart from a few stylish cafes. Considering the location, overall satisfaction is low, and I would not revisit.

    Enjoy delicious meals and beautiful scenery.

    Used by a group of four women in their 50s The food was delicious. It was my first time trying thinly sliced okose, and it was sweet and tasty. The abalone shabu-shabu also had a wonderfully fragrant soup and was delicious. The various accompanying vegetables were also flavorful. The portion size was just right, leaving us very satisfied. As for the rice dishes, there were only two pieces of sushi, which might not be enough for younger people, but it is sufficient for middle-aged and older guests.

    Carry a feeling of sadness

    I usually don't write reviews, but this was such a sad experience that I decided to post. It happened during dinner. The dishes were placed without any explanation and the staff left immediately. So, I left my seat once and asked a staff member if they could explain the dishes. They quickly explained the sashimi, but when it came to the next dish, there was no explanation again. When I requested an explanation as they brought it over, someone else came and said they didn't understand much Japanese yet. Then they explained a dish that we had almost finished eating. Afterwards, there was an apology at our table, but it felt like they didn't understand why we were feeling sad. I wondered if it was something trivial and felt uneasy about it. However, since this parent-child trip had been planned for some time to make my mother happy, I conveyed my feelings to the staff. But since I didn't want my mother who came with me to feel uncomfortable, apologizing at our table after leaving made no sense at all. It felt terrible... It was so shocking that I couldn't speak for a while. I've never experienced anything like this when staying at other Ryokans or Hotels before; it's disappointing. The next day during checkout, the hospitality of the front desk staff provided some relief.

    The hospitality of the staff and the spectacular view from the room. The staff who guided us to the room shared wonderful stories about local attractions and clouds shaped like dragons, conveying their love for Tomonoura, which was very enjoyable. We explored the places they recommended. I also fell in love with Tomonoura. The room was very clean and comfortable. All the meals were delicious. My first time in Hiroshima! It was the best trip. I am already thinking about when to return next time! It was a wonderful stay. Thank you for everything.

    Overall satisfied, but...

    The day before, I stayed at a hotel of similar scale and price to this hotel (in fact, this one is more expensive). I apologize for comparing, but overall, it seemed slightly inferior. I received an apology at checkout for the mishap with the meal, but I don't need words of apology; I want the service to be properly executed. That alone can significantly impact the impression. It's unfortunate because, aside from that, the meal content and the staff were polite and kind. The quality of the bath didn't feel much like an onsen, but I felt that placing original shampoos or offering a variety of choices like a shampoo bar could differentiate from other hotels. The massage chair after the bath was comfortable. The view from the room was open and pleasant. Overall, I am generally satisfied, but it feels somewhat lacking in impact. The strong impression from the first night made the impression of Oufutei (Oufutei) fade, and I can't recall much... The spirit of hospitality is conveyed, so I hope for improvements in creating the hotel's atmosphere and services. It was a hotel that felt close to being great to me.

    The best view with the best dining

    This year, for our annual Christmas trip, we booked the Onsen Stays Oufutei instead of a hotel for the first time. We stayed in a top-floor corner room (with a lounge), and the view was spectacular. The meals, both warm and cold, were prepared with great care, and we enjoyed them immensely. Overall satisfaction is five stars. However, during the cold wave season, the top-floor open-air bath with a great view and the private bath were closed, which was a bit disappointing. I rated the service four stars because, although we had access to the lounge, after a walk by the seaside, we noticed that the view from the lounge, adjacent to the lobby and first-floor café & bar with their excellent views, was obstructed by walls, pillars, and glass windows. This diminished the view, and depending on the seating, some guests could only see the sky, which seemed to disappoint many. While I understand the need to distinguish lounge-class guests by restricting access to the terrace, it was a shame not to fully enjoy the stunning view right in front of us, even though we had a window-side seat in the lounge. The lounge staff have a challenging task, especially with staff shortages. Perhaps allowing lounge guests to take drinks and snacks to the terrace, with access only from the lounge side and visible from the front desk, could enhance the experience of enjoying a drink with a close-up view of the seaside. Related to this, our room had an excellent view. It would have been nice to enjoy a glass of draft beer or wine from the lounge on the room's sofa. Since we weren't staying long, between sightseeing, the large bath, and dining on the first floor, there wasn't much time to relax in the room while enjoying the view. It felt like a waste not to fully utilize such a high-quality room. Apologies for being greedy, but the room had such a wonderful view that it felt like a waste not to make the most of it. Regardless, it's a property we would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    I also wrote in the survey for the Stays, but the meals were very delicious, and both dinner and breakfast were just the right amount for us. We usually have to wait a lot because we don't drink alcohol, but we were able to enjoy the meals without waiting. The explanation of the meals was easy to understand. When we went to the large public bath after hours, the person cleaning kindly allowed us to enter, thank you very much. The chair in the Room was very comfortable, and I ended up taking a nap.
