    Relax during Golden Week

    This was my second stay. The first was in September, and this time I stayed for one night in the Fuji Room on a weekday during Golden Week. While my satisfaction with the meals and room remains unchanged from last time, this visit was special because: The wisteria trellis in front of the room was in full bloom and absolutely stunning. Relaxing in the room while admiring the wisteria flowers was simply perfect—truly exceptional for Fuji Room. Additionally, I spent two hours in the reserved audio room listening to SACDs I brought along. I was deeply impressed by the sound quality of Yamaha's top-tier audio equipment, which is no longer produced today—truly remarkable Yamaha craftsmanship! I strongly wish to visit again during wisteria season and enjoy using the audio room once more.

    Truly wonderful, but if I may say...

    We visit once a year as a family. This time, we were excited to stay in the new Sakura Room, which opened in April. The room was very spacious and clean, and we were extremely satisfied. The private open-air bath attached to the room, along with a separate shower booth, was incredibly convenient. The terrace or garden area had an outdoor sofa set where we could relax and enjoy drinks. Both my wife and children were delighted, which made me even happier. The inclusion of items like a straightening iron, the latest hairdryer, bamboo brushes, and combs was especially appreciated by my wife—it was a big hit! While we love the rooms we've stayed in before, this new room is incomparable—it's truly unique. It was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely love to stay again. However, there are some points that could be improved for an even better experience: 1) The open-air bath faces the garden side; when it’s windy, leaves and branches fall into the water. A tool (like a net) to scoop them out would have been helpful. Using a bucket felt wasteful as it removed water along with debris. 2) Dinner was delicious as always but felt similar to previous visits—slightly disappointing given that this special room comes at a higher price point. It would be nice if there were unique dishes or services tailored for such stays. 3) Breakfast was served in a spacious private dining area for the first time—a pleasant surprise! However, unlike the usual buffet-style breakfast at the dining hall that offers excitement with its variety ("What should I try first?"), this meal had fixed options only. If guests could choose between enjoying either buffet-style breakfast or set meals in private rooms based on their preference, it would enhance satisfaction further!

    For upcoming guests

    We stayed for 3 nights with the breakfast-only plan. The ryokan was spacious, incredibly clean, and sparkling. The room was also very clean! All the staff were kind, and their hospitality was excellent. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! The only regret I have is not going by car (sweat). This ryokan is located in an area with nothing around it, and it takes a long journey from the station to get there. I strongly recommend going by car. It seems there’s a bus available if you make a reservation in advance, but if you want to go to a convenience store or head out freely at your preferred time, having a car would be much better. Since we didn’t make any reservations for transportation, we had to rely on taxis every time which became costly. Perhaps it was just bad luck with one driver, but taxis in Shizuoka didn’t even help unload luggage despite giving tips (cry). After heading out one day and stopping by a convenience store before returning to the ryokan, I bought some fried chicken along with other items. However, when I got back to my room ready to eat it, I realized the fried chicken wasn’t included even though they charged me for it as shown on the receipt! When I called the convenience store about this issue since they were too far away from our location at this beautiful yet remote accommodation without access via personal vehicle meant no way of retrieving what should’ve been mine—leaving me feeling helpless & frustrated over wasted money spent unnecessarily (cry again). Having access through private transport could prevent such unexpected situations arising during stays here; therefore highly recommending future guests consider driving themselves instead whenever possible while planning trips involving accommodations like these ones offering serene luxury amidst tranquil surroundings perfect especially golfers seeking peaceful retreats nearby courses available onsite too perhaps? Lastly reiterating how amazing breakfasts served each morning truly tasted beyond expectations making overall experience memorable despite minor setbacks encountered along way thanks largely due diligence shown throughout entire team working tirelessly behind scenes ensuring utmost comfort provided guests staying within premises alike myself included wholeheartedly appreciating efforts made     Enjoy a Resort Atmosphere

    Both the Room and meals were highly satisfying. The Room opens up to a spacious garden, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The terrace is adorned with wisteria trellises, making it perfect during the wisteria season. Unfortunately, this time we visited when the buds had just started to appear. No matter the season, you can enjoy a leisurely time gazing at the garden. The welcome drink included wine, allowing us to relax until dinner.

    It was a wonderful moment of bliss!!

    A beautifully restored traditional Japanese house with a warm wooden interior, spacious and comfortable rooms with great garden views, incredibly delicious meals, and attentive and friendly staff—everything was exceptional. The natural surroundings, where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and trees while strolling, were also wonderful. It’s an accommodation I’d love to visit again after a long time. This time we came by car, but in the future, if long-distance driving becomes difficult, having shuttle service from major stations would make it accessible by train as well. I’d like to recommend this place to my friends as well. It was an accommodation I had always wanted to visit, and it exceeded my expectations by providing a truly comfortable and satisfying experience.

    This was my first time staying here, and I was amazed to find such a wonderful Hotel. The Facility is very spacious, and the Japanese-style ambiance was truly soothing. The portion sizes of the meals were just right for me, and they were delicious. I would love to visit this Hotel again.

    As you run along while admiring the stunning garden, a luxurious space embodying the essence of "Japanese beauty" unfolds at the end of the approach. Every part of the building, said to be a relocated historic traditional house, was truly inspiring. The hospitality provided by the staff was exceptional, leaving us eager to return.     Birthday Party

    This was my first time staying at the property. I was impressed by the building and garden, which didn't feel like they were 47 years old. The Yamaha piano, one of a kind in the world, was very beautiful, and I was also moved by how clean the interior was. The long wooden table was wonderful as well. My wife and I were amazed by the beauty of the stand next to the piano and even under the shoe cabinet. We could relax in the bath as it became private for us. The meals were delicious too, making it a great memory for us. Despite being busy, we had many conversations with you about wood and stories about flowers in buildings and gardens—thank you very much for that. Although currently renovating your suite room, we will definitely come back to stay next time. Thank you for everything!

    It was excellent!

    Thank you very much. It's just "the best!" The front desk staff, the restaurant staff, everyone was very helpful. I want to recommend it to everyone, but I actually want to keep it a secret because I don't want too many people to go. I stayed from Thursday to Friday, so I was able to relax and unwind. I wanted to give five stars for everything, but when I used the bath at night, I'm sure it was some kind of mistake, but the open-air bath was too cold to enter, so four stars. But in the morning, it was perfect.

    Escape from the everyday

    Passing through the slope, parking the car, and entering the grand gate, I already felt a sense of richness. The interior of the building, with its spacious design and historical ambiance, allowed me to enjoy an extraordinary time. The meals were carefully prepared using locally sourced ingredients, each dish thoughtfully arranged and deliciously served. It is said that Umeden was once a guesthouse for YAMAHA. Music enthusiasts should definitely spend some time here.

    We stayed for one night as a family from January 2nd. We had a relaxing time and were impressed by the delicious food and excellent service. Reading the materials about the completion of the Facility, we felt your dedication and passion, which left a deep impression on us. We realized that this sense of comfort comes from such commitment.     Stayed for my sister's 60th birthday celebration.

    The best part was definitely the food! We were very satisfied with the taste, as it perfectly matched our preferences, using locally sourced ingredients. For the 60th birthday celebration, the final dessert was beautifully decorated, which deeply moved the celebrant. Thank you very much. The disappointing part was that there was no explanation of the in-house services at check-in, and we only learned about them when we asked. If we hadn't asked, we might have missed out on the services, which would have been unfortunate. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would love to visit again as a couple next time.

    Stays for Special Occasions

    We stayed at the Katsuragi North Maru after a round at the Katsuragi Golf Club for our wedding anniversary. This was our second stay, but the first time two years ago, we only stayed without playing at the Katsuragi Golf Club. We made a reservation last spring, but had to cancel due to a back injury, so this time it was a long-awaited golf and stay. The golf course is where the Yamaha Ladies Professional Tournament is held, so both the fairways and greens are excellent. Katsuragi North Maru has a calm Japanese atmosphere from the entrance, which is superb. The lounge has a piano, and a spacious garden spreads out in front of you. The beauty of the tiled roof seen from the corridor leading to the room is my favorite view that cannot be experienced at other properties. The room is also calm, and the refrigerator is stocked with free drinks. The meals are truly delicious and very satisfying. This time, we used the separate audio room that we couldn't visit last time. The entire building is an audio room available for hourly rental, where you can listen to music with Yamaha's top audio equipment. It is the perfect property to stay at for special events.

    A Gentle Place

    A quiet place away from the crowds. Yet, you won't feel loneliness or desolation. The room, the bath, the garden, the meals as you feel, and the blue sky and starry sky, everything is warm and gentle, along with everyone at the Stays.

    Even Japanese guests were filled with excitement.

    The Ryokan, which resembles a castle, was full of excitement from the entrance. Hosting foreign guests here would undoubtedly delight them. I liked that the drinks in the Room's refrigerator were free, and that you could have Western food like bread in addition to Japanese breakfast. The Room's bath having a washing area is perfect.

    The quality of the meals has slightly decreased.

    I have visited this Hotel several times because I like the atmosphere, service, and meals. This time, the service was excellent as always, and although there were young staff members, everyone was cheerful and courteous. Until the last visit, I was always impressed with every detail of the meals and looked forward to them, but this time there were a few things about the meals that made me think "hmm?" so I am posting this in hopes of improvement. The curry-flavored chicken appetizer at dinner was not very tasty. It had a gentle, unremarkable taste that might be popular in a school lunch, but I felt it was not up to the level expected of this restaurant. Also, the vegetables accompanying the fish dish were cold (in the past, even the vegetables and beans on the side were impressively delicious, so I was concerned). The melon dessert was also unripe, hard, and not sweet, which was disappointing. The fish served at breakfast the next morning was too salty, while the miso soup had little flavor, which was disappointing given how good it had been in the past. The croissants at the buffet seemed to be frozen, with a hard-baked surface that tasted only of salt and lacked the buttery flavor. I remember them being more delicious with a crispy surface and fluffy inside before. The breakfast fruits were kiwi, pear, and mandarin, but they all lacked flavor and sweetness. I was shocked that the mandarins were not tasty, especially since we were in Shizuoka. I believe the meals at the Hotel account for a significant part of the overall evaluation of the stay, so I hope they will be improved next time. The atmosphere of the Hotel, the cleanliness of the baths and their maintenance, and the service staff are truly outstanding, and I would definitely like to repeat my stay, so I look forward to your continued efforts.

    The meals were very ...

    The meals were very delicious. Breakfast included a Japanese set meal and a buffet, which was very satisfying. All the drinks in the room were free, and in the evening, we could enjoy alcohol next to the lobby. The garden was wonderful, and we enjoyed strolling around. The view from the lobby was like a painting. It became a very good memory. As for the bath, it would have been perfect if it were an Onsen. Regarding the facility, there was no elevator, so carrying luggage was difficult.

    I will use it again!

    The three female staff members who handled the phone inquiries before our stay, as well as the staff during our stay, all provided exceptional hospitality of consistent quality, which left us highly satisfied. The room we stayed in had indirect lighting that was perfectly balanced, providing just the right brightness. Personally, I found this lighting style very much to my liking and was extremely pleased with it. As a personal criterion for hotels, I value adequate brightness even with indirect lighting and proper mirror and lighting conditions for makeup application. In these two aspects, this accommodation exceeded even high-end hotels in Tokyo. While some Tokyo hotels provide magnifying mirrors, their dim lighting often makes it difficult to find satisfactory setups for makeup application—perhaps it's different in suite rooms... The large communal bath was also impeccably clean, and both the indoor bath and open-air bath offered a very pleasant bathing experience. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure a reservation for dinner this time; however, breakfast was absolutely delicious. Next time, I would love to try dinner as well! In addition to the set Japanese breakfast menu offered at this accommodation's buffet-style dining area—which is usually not my preference—I found myself enjoying multiple dishes because of how fresh and carefully prepared everything seemed: from crisp lettuce leaves down through juicy tomatoes! Even Wasabi Dressing stood out among other condiments served alongside meals here. Lastly but importantly—the bar team impressed us greatly by sharing detailed knowledge about its founding history while maintaining professionalism throughout interactions made possible thanks largely due diligence paid towards preserving traditional aesthetics alongside modern cleanliness standards upheld across facilities overall.

    Lovely place

    It was a wonderful place that felt like entering a different world as soon as we passed through the tunnel. The warmth of the wood, the building that exudes the unique history of Japan, and the impressive beams were overwhelming. The meals were just right for us, who eat small portions, and we enjoyed them to the last bite. The chef's wonderful attention to detail was evident in the way they valued the taste of the broth. Although we usually don't eat much breakfast, we were able to enjoy it slowly and deliciously. Moreover, the hotel staff were all very attentive, and even the young staff were very charming and enthusiastic about their service. From the welcome to the farewell, it was truly a warm and comfortable space. I regret not knowing about it sooner. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much. It was truly wonderful. I would be delighted to hear that piano next time.

    A wonderful Yamaha resort

    I visited during a three-day weekend. A few years ago, I used the facility for lunch once, and I definitely wanted to stay there. Although it's not a hot spring, there is an open-air bath with plenty of water, and a separate building with a bath that includes a mist sauna. This time, I stayed in a twin room in the Fujidono building, which had a beautifully maintained garden right in front of it. I think the view would be spectacular when the wisteria flowers outside the window are in bloom. You can relax as you can wear a samue inside the facility during meal times in the morning and evening. The staff, of course, and even the cleaning staff you pass by in the hallway in the morning, stop their work to greet you wonderfully. All amenities are provided, the refrigerator is free, and you can enjoy coffee and tea in beautiful Noritake cups. What concerned me was that the refrigerator in the room wasn't cooling. There are only four washing areas in the women's bath, and there are few lockers. It was very crowded during the holiday, and I had to try three times. There are few original "Kitanomaru" products in the shop, and not many noteworthy items are sold. I would like them to come up with some original delicious sweets. At dinner, I sat down at 6:30 PM, but the appetizers were served at 7 PM. It was almost full and crowded, but I wish they had served it a little earlier. I would like hot dishes to be served before they get cold. I would like to visit again in a different season.
