    A Trip to See My Father

    Thank you for having me for one night. Not because I’m a senior, but when choosing a Hotel, having a large bath is an important requirement for me. Just like in Sapporo, I was able to enjoy a very pleasant bath. This trip wasn’t specifically to visit Sendai, but next time I’d like to plan an itinerary that includes staying at this Hotel again. Also, three hours after checkout I realized I had forgotten my glasses, and when I returned your staff handled it properly and I was able to retrieve them. Thank you very much.

    Stay in a Spacious Family Room

    We requested one extra bed in the family room, and it was still spacious enough. It was also nice to have two toilets. The building is old, but it has a lot of charm. The top-floor Onsen was very relaxing. There were rows of reclining chairs positioned to enjoy the view outside the windows, but it would have been even better if they had massage functions. Unfortunately, the extra bed was too hard and gave me back pain, and my child and I were bitten by mites. We could see the mites with the naked eye. The Chinese restaurant on the top floor had a great view, and the service and food were excellent!

    I had a comfortable stay.

    From the moment I entered the Hotel, it smelled wonderful and put me in a great mood. The front desk staff were also very helpful. The Room also smelled nice, and I had a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, I stayed on a day when the spa was closed, so I could only use it in the morning, but it was quiet and I could relax in the bath. It felt great. I was very satisfied with the breakfast buffet because I could enjoy plenty of Sendai specialties. Everything was delicious. The station and convenience store were both nearby, which was very convenient. I would like to stay again.

    Girls’ Trip with Mom Friends

    Four mom friends and I stayed here on our trip. We stayed in a family Room, and having two toilets and two sinks made it comfortable without any waiting. I was also happy that the spa lounge area offered drinks and ice cream. The location is close to the station, making it very convenient for getting around by train and for dining. However, it seemed there was no safe in the Room. Maybe I just couldn’t find it, but since most Hotels usually have one, I was surprised. There were lockers for valuables at the spa. My friends were satisfied as well, and it turned into a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

    The guest entrance is poorly lit.

    Planting flowers outside the guest entrance would enhance the appearance. Upon entering, there is a cart left out, the door’s glass panel is dirty, and it feels like a storage area—there is significant room for improvement. The Room is average.

    Sendai Hotel Monterey was excellent.

    I’ve stayed at several of your locations, including Kobe, and it was interesting to see how the interior design differs by region. I stayed with breakfast included, and the buffet was beautifully presented; I also enjoyed tasting local ingredients, and everything was delicious. I had Japanese breakfast for one day, but it was a bit disappointing because the tableware and dishes were all covered in black. The rice balls were tasty, though. The top-floor bath and lounge were very comfortable, and I could relax there. Thank you to the staff member who brought me a blanket when I felt cold late at night. If I have the opportunity, I’d like to stay again.

    The parking map was incorrect.

    It’s understandable that the parking is not suitable for SUVs, but the intersection name on the map to the affiliated parking lot was incorrect. Otherwise, I was satisfied.

    It became a wonderful part of our travel memories.

    After using the Kyun Pass and finishing our sightseeing in Niigata, we arrived and checked in at night. The front desk staff were very courteous, and the stylish exterior and interior eased our fatigue and made us feel excited. The after-bath lounge was luxurious; relaxing in a reclining chair while watching TV and enjoying ice cream was truly soothing. At breakfast, there were Miyagi specialties, a live kitchen, Hotel-made bread, and tempting desserts—everything looked so good that we wanted to try it all. Personally, I loved the live-kitchen egg dishes and beef tongue, while my friend really liked the sakura almond tofu. We were also happy to receive a voucher for a zunda shake at check-in, and we all agreed we’d love to stay again. Thank you for a comfortable Hotel stay!

    Mostly satisfied

    I visited Sendai for the first time in a while and stayed at this Hotel. I was satisfied with the limited Japanese-style breakfast. The location is also convenient, right near Sendai Station. There is a large public bath on the top floor, and I appreciated that beer and other drinks are available free of charge. However, although everything is well maintained, it’s hard to deny that some Facilities show signs of age.

    The front desk staff...

    The front desk staff were kind. We had no particular issues during our stay in the Room. The bathtub is spacious, so you can stretch your legs and relax. It takes time to fill with hot water. There is an Onsen on the 17th floor, but it did not open at the scheduled time in the morning, which was inconvenient. However, we received a proper apology at check-out regarding this matter.

    The service was excellent.

    There’s a convenience store right next door, and since it’s in the city center, it was very convenient overall and I was completely satisfied. Above all, the service was excellent. What stood out most was how pleasant everyone was, from the experienced staff to the younger team members.

    The interior was cut...

    The interior was cute and lovely. Everywhere smelled pleasant, and I didn’t feel the building’s age at all. The Onsen was great. Everything I wished they had was thoughtfully provided, and I could really feel the attention to detail.

    It was a very comfortable one-night stay.

    All of the staff were very pleasant. The Room and furnishings had a sense of history and were high quality, which really impressed me. Since I arrived before check-in time, I used the on-site restaurant. The food was excellent, and I’m grateful for the staff’s kindness there as well. I was looking forward to breakfast, but it was average.

    Cute European-style decor

    Both the exterior and interior had a cute European style. The Room we stayed in was on the 16th floor with a queen bed. The toilet floor pattern was adorable and relaxing. The amenities were fun as well—items like an eye mask and bath salts weren’t strongly scented, and there were also face masks, which I tried. The towels were fluffy and great. The meals were luxurious, and the Japanese food was delicious. The large public bath was extremely crowded; I had to wait quite a while just to use the shower, and it was embarrassing to line up unclothed. It was very convenient being close to the station. Highly recommended.

    Overnight Stay for Workshop Participation

    After arriving in Sendai by air after work, I checked in past 10 PM. Thanks to the kindness of the reception staff, I was able to use the Onsen on the 17th floor even though it was slightly past its closing time. Walking from Sendai Station amidst a cold wind left me feeling quite chilled, but soaking in the Onsen made me feel rejuvenated. It was truly helpful—thank you so much. The Hotel itself had a unique retro style throughout. The amenities, including the Onsen and sauna, were very comfortable. I would love to stay here again when visiting Sendai!

    The Zunda Shake was delicious.

    The room was simple and charming with a retro Western-style design. Although there was no kettle or refrigerator in the room, bottled natural water was provided, so it wasn't inconvenient. The firm pillow suited me well, and I slept better than usual despite often having trouble sleeping. The bath was great; I warmed up nicely in the Onsen. There seemed to be a space to lie down after bathing, but I wasn’t sure how to use it properly and didn’t end up using it. It would have been helpful if the staff at reception had explained the Facility more thoroughly. Breakfast was delicious! The rice and miso soup were especially tasty. There were plenty of drink and dessert options as well, which made for a very satisfying meal! Overall, my first trip to Sendai turned out to be wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality!

    A classic and charming Hotel

    A classic-style Hotel near Sendai Station. I stayed here during a business trip to Sendai. While some parts of the Facility seemed slightly dated, everything was very well-maintained, and the vintage charm added character without causing any discomfort. The service was excellent with no issues at all. Although there was a large public bath available, I couldn't use it this time due to my busy schedule during the trip, which was quite unfortunate. I look forward to trying it on my next visit. The breakfast here is luxurious and delicious, offering a highly satisfying experience. If I visit Sendai again, I will definitely stay here once more.

    From the spa lounge, you can enjoy views of the bullet train and the sea, along with a refreshing beer!

    The slippers provided in the room were spacious and comfortable to use. The wallpaper in the bathroom was charming, and while I considered using the room's bath, I ultimately opted for the larger public bath. The lounge was delightful, offering a variety of refreshments such as ice cream, Real Gold drinks, flavored teas, and even draft beer. I enjoyed relaxing there while admiring the night view and watching bullet trains come and go. I often stay at Monte Hermana near Hapina Nakakecho during events like Tanabata. However, for the Pageant of Starlight event this time, considering subway access, I decided to stay at Hotel Monterey after a long time. From my room, I could enjoy views of bullet trains arriving and departing as well as the sea and even a beautiful sunrise—it was truly wonderful. If only the morning spa hours were extended a bit longer; it would have allowed for an even more leisurely experience.

    It was very comfortable.

    Convenient access from the station made it stress-free to use public transportation and visit restaurants, making it perfect for sightseeing. The room was charming, and the large public bath was comfortable. I would like to make this my regular accommodation for Sendai sightseeing. Thank you very much!

    Very retro and charming

    The retro and charming design of the building and furnishings was delightful. The elevator gave a nostalgic, time-travel-like experience. It was unfortunate that I couldn't use the bath after the live event due to waiting times at the washing area, but I was happy to enjoy the large public bath in the morning. The hallway had an unpleasant smell, which was disappointing. Overall, with kind and attentive staff, it’s a lovely Hotel where I had a great time.

    The most disappointing hotel I have stayed at in recent years.

    The pedestrian walkway you cross to enter the hotel parking lot is constantly busy, but at 4 PM, there was no staff to guide vehicles. This raised safety concerns and made it difficult to find the right timing to enter, resulting in a significant delay. Delivery trucks and parked vans were blocking the entrance route, and the staff at the mechanical parking facility behaved unprofessionally, offering no guidance or explanation. Their attitude was poor, leaving a terrible first impression upon arrival. The pathway leading to the front desk is paved with cobblestone-like material that makes it hard to roll suitcases. There are no carts or wagons available, nor are there bellboys or doormen present. The front desk area was chaotic with people standing around without order, making it unclear whose turn it was. When I finally managed to check in, I found their service level below that of a Business Hotel—no escorting guests to their Room; I had to carry my suitcase myself. During my Multiple Night Stay, I tried both Japanese set breakfast and buffet-style breakfast options; both were delicious with an excellent variety and presentation. The dining staff were all friendly and professional—I believe they should replace some of the front desk personnel. The natural Onsen Sky Spa "Sala Terena" felt like an outdated city sauna from 30 years ago; its Facility appeared old-fashioned with low-temperature baths and showers. Although described as "bringing you moments of tranquility inspired by Prague's charm through antique furnishings scattered throughout," elements like dust-covered spiral staircase railings gave off an impression of neglect rather than elegance. During my stay-in mornings before heading out in the afternoon on day two of my Multiple Night Stay, I placed a request card on my door for towel replacement and amenity restocking—but this went completely ignored as neither towels nor beverages were replenished for day two. While its prime location near the station might explain its popularity somewhat accurately reflects only Business Hotel-level hospitality standards overall. Most disappointing is how IKYU.com’s top-recommended hotel labeled as “excellent” has now left me doubting future recommendations entirely!

    It was very comfortable.

    The overall design was a bit dated, but both the exterior and the Room had a charming European style that elevated our travel experience. Although we didn’t have the chance to enjoy seafood during this trip, I was delighted to have a seafood bowl for breakfast at the Hotel. The menu offered such a wide variety of options that it was impossible to try everything. I never expected to enjoy freshly grilled beef tongue in the morning—it was delicious! The spa was spacious and provided a relaxing way to unwind from travel fatigue. However, regarding the drink and ice candy service available after using the spa, I wasn’t sure how to access them and ended up not using this service. There didn’t seem to be any drink bar in sight—perhaps staff would bring them if we sat down? Unfortunately, there were no staff members around at that time for me to ask. While I personally don’t feel like missing out on services is an issue, some guests might feel otherwise; providing guidance on how these services work during check-in could be helpful. We were able to leave our luggage with you both before check-in and after check-out, which allowed us to explore freely without any burden. Thank you very much! I highly recommend this Hotel for anyone visiting Sendai!

    Breakfast is limited...

    Breakfast is limited to 30 servings of Japanese cuisine, featuring rice balls with a choice of rice brands and several small side dishes, which were very delicious. The Room felt a bit dated, and it was unfortunate that sounds from the neighboring room could be heard. The drink bar location after bathing is shared by both men and women, which felt uncomfortable due to light clothing.

    The breakfast options all looked so delicious that it was hard to choose, haha. I enjoyed dishes unique to Sendai as well. Next time, I’d love to try the dishes I couldn’t have this time!

    The classical ambian...

    The classical ambiance is truly delightful and enhances the sense of a special stay. Choosing this accommodation was absolutely the right decision! I was happy to see that the TV in the room was a SONY. The early closing hours of the spa and restaurant are understandable since it’s not in a major city.

    Experience an extraordinary stay at our Hotel.

    This is my second stay! The proximity to the station, large public bath, breakfast, charming exterior, and relaxing interior were the deciding factors. The room is clean, and the flooring makes it less dusty, which I appreciate. The amenities are well-prepared, and having two sets of all types of towels in the room was very convenient—especially having hand towels available. At other accommodations, I often had to dry a towel after multiple uses for hand drying and then use it for washing my face in the morning... Since I'm not a fan of hot saunas, it would be great if there were a mist sauna in the public bath. The breakfast impressed me with its fresh ingredients. There are so many options that you’d need to stay two or three times to try everything! Overall, this is an incredibly comfortable accommodation without any complaints. I’ll definitely stay here again!

    Hotel with a large public bath

    Conveniently located near Sendai Station. At the front desk, all guests' names were required, and we had to wait for the staff to input them, which took time as we had 2 rooms for 4 people. Additionally, the elevator often took a while to arrive, making the wait feel long. The large public bath was relaxing and helped relieve fatigue.
