    I used the service live. What surprised me was that when I checked in and was guided to my room, there were already other guests there. Fortunately, there was an employee who happened to help carry my luggage, so they were able to handle the situation on the spot (my room was on the floor below). It's a bit frightening to think about if I had carried my luggage myself and arrived at the room. The person who was already there was nice and didn't say anything unpleasant afterward, but if I had been in the room first, I would have felt very disappointed. Other than that incident, the staff's response was good, and I thought it was as per the reviews, but since it was the very first event at check-in, it was a bit disappointing.

    Satisfaction

    Attracted by the night view and breakfast, I used it for the first time. The night view was more pleasant than I expected, and both the bed and the unusual pillow were comfortable. My only complaint at night was the disappointing Wi-Fi. Although I went to the breakfast venue early, it was already filled with people who arrived even earlier, so I had to go to the Japanese venue as the checkout time was approaching. It was delicious, but I still wanted to have the French toast... I'll come back again.

    It feels good right next to the Shinano River.

    The hotel has a rather old feel, but it is right next to the Shinano River with a promenade, offering a nice view. The riverside is a promenade, so you can take a walk. The room was not cramped and was clean. Breakfast was a buffet with many ingredients typical of Niigata. As expected from a rice-producing area, you can compare two types of rice. I had a comfortable stay. I would like to use it again.

    Stable quality.

    This is my regular Stays when visiting Niigata City. You can use it with peace of mind due to the pleasant and high-quality service. The Room on the Shinano River side has a particularly beautiful night view. I will use it again.

    Closing soon?

    As expected from the long-established Okura, the overall experience was impressive. I thought it was good, but it was a bit disappointing that there were no cakes at the LB tea room when I wanted to have tea, and the next day they weren't serving tea at all. I thought the breakfast was very good. It was disappointing that there were no cosmetics among the Room amenities.

    The breakfast is wonderful.

    If you stay here, the breakfast buffet is a must. You should definitely try the hamburgers, even if there's a line. The level of the hotel staff is high. The age of the facility cannot be denied, but as expected of Okura, it is wonderful.

    Night view

    I reserved a room on the city side, but from the room near the elevator, I had a great view of the Shinano River, which was very soothing. The facility is retro, but it was a long-established hotel where you can feel the calm setting and the spirit of hospitality.

    Delicious Niigata Rice!

    The hotel felt a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. As the Review popularity suggested, the meals were delicious, and I enjoyed comparing two different types. The bread was also tasty, making for a filling breakfast. I would like to stay again the next time I visit Niigata.

    This is the third year.

    I have liked it since the GoTo campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic. The view of Bandai Bridge and the Shinano River... Cross the bridge to Bandai City for shopping and dining. In the morning, the breakfast buffet has become a bit much, so I have breakfast at cafes in the Furumachi area. Check-out is at 11:00, so you can take your time. It's understandable that the Hotel facilities are old. With recent global warming, the air conditioning was not working well, so it wasn't cool. The price is relatively high for being old, but maybe that's because it's Okura. The lobby area exudes a sense of a long-established Hotel. I would like to stay here in different seasons after retirement.

    Retro but first-class service

    I have been staying here occasionally for over 40 years. The facilities have understandably aged, but the service and hospitality remain top-notch. I enjoyed the breakfast, which was delicious and offered in a relaxed atmosphere. However, the cap on the provided mineral water was unusually hard, making my hand hurt. After opening, the water leaked even with the cap on, making it impossible to carry. I hope this can be improved.

    As expected of a long-established hotel.

    I stayed for one night during my trip. I took a taxi from Niigata Station, and at the entrance, a bell girl came running to greet the taxi. She carried my suitcase to the front desk. I had made a reservation through Ikkyu, and at the front desk, they linked my phone number to the Okura membership organization and asked about my preferred newspaper for the next day. I wanted to have dinner, but the Japanese restaurant was closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so I couldn't eat there. The Chinese restaurant was also closed. The breakfast the next day was impressive, as expected from a first-class hotel, with guidance from the entrance, a wide variety of food, and a live kitchen for omelets. I usually stay at business hotels, so I thought it was nice to stay at a first-class hotel once in a while. It was a bit disappointing that the only dinner venue was the lounge, but I hope they can operate every day soon. Thank you very much.

    We used it as a family.

    Visited Niigata for the first time in a while. Stayed at Okura, which has been around since my student days. The underground parking and the room showed signs of aging, but I think the human service was well-maintained. The room offered a view of Bandai Bridge, which brought back nostalgic memories. I think it will be a candidate for accommodation when visiting Niigata.
