    Comfortable

    Although the entire Facility has been renovated, some areas still feel dated; however, the staff were attentive and the Accommodation was impeccably clean, making our stay very comfortable. This trip was with two elderly couples, but it is an Accommodation we would love to visit again with three generations of our family, including our grandchildren.

    Summer Trip

    I made a Reservation because the Accommodation offered an Italian dinner, a sand bath, and spacious Rooms with great views. The Room was large, had a wonderful view, and felt very clean. I also appreciated that the drinks in the refrigerator were free, including beer. There was a sand bath within the Facility, as well as a large public bath, plus one more Onsen area with indoor baths only. Inside the building there was so much to see—such as a shochu dojo, artworks, and exhibits about notable historical figures from Kagoshima—that we didn’t have enough time to take it all in. The garden was also vast and perfect for a walk. The Italian dinner was at a restaurant inside Denshokan; both the atmosphere and the food were excellent. Above all, every staff member was wonderful—this was truly an outstanding Accommodation. I would definitely like to stay again when I visit Ibusuki. Thank you very much for your hospitality. As an aside, I learned that this is also the venue for the Ryuo title match in shogi, which made me even more excited—I was moved to see where Sota Fujii sat and played.

    This was my first re...

    This was my first return in 20 years. This time, I came with my children. The food, Onsen, and service were all the same high quality as before. Next time, I’d like to bring my grandchildren.

    This is an Accommoda...

    This is an Accommodation filled with memories, one I stayed at many times since childhood. This time, I returned after a long while to celebrate an anniversary. After letting you know it was for an anniversary, sparkling wine had been prepared in our Room—such a thoughtful gesture that made us very happy as we both enjoy drinks. The staff member who escorted us to our Room was extremely courteous and left a strong impression. Their earnest explanations came through clearly and made me feel warmly welcomed. The Genroku Bath is breathtaking no matter how many times I visit, and the sand-steam Onsen was just as wonderful as expected. This was my first time staying in a Room with a private Onsen, and the luxury of enjoying the Onsen anytime I wanted—again and again—was even better than I imagined. I was able to spend truly relaxing time. I was very satisfied with the Italian dinner and the bar afterward as well. For dessert, you prepared an anniversary plate, which became a lovely memory. Since I had my camera with me, it would have made me even happier if someone had offered, “Shall I take a photo for you?” For a late-night snack, I had been looking forward to the ramen shop inside the property, but even the mini ramen felt slightly overpriced. Also, my drink order was confirmed multiple times, which made it feel like it wasn’t easy to use the place if ordering only mini ramen. We ended up requesting additional takeaway and enjoyed it slowly in our Room; however, if it had more of an atmosphere where you could casually stop by for a final bowl or drink of the night, it would feel more approachable. The service itself was polite and pleasant. This time we wanted to relax in our Room, so we did not use the breakfast venue. If there were light options such as rice balls or sandwiches that could be enjoyed casually in the Room, it would make this Accommodation even more appealing. One thing that disappointed me slightly was at checkout. To avoid crowds we extended our stay before leaving; there were hardly any other guests at that time. Even though I was carrying two suitcases by myself, there was no offer of help or farewell—and not even a simple “Thank you.” Because everything during our stay had been so positive overall, this left me feeling a little sad at the very end. Even so, I’m truly happy that we were able to spend such an important anniversary at this beloved Accommodation that has been familiar to me since childhood. Precisely because this is such a wonderful place with history and tradition, I hope it will continue to be loved by many people for years to come. I would love to visit again on another special occasion.

    A Comfortable Hotel Within Walking Distance

    The deciding factor was that the Hotel has an in-house sand bath. Many group guests were staying there as well. Perhaps because it was a weekday after Golden Week, but since the grounds are extremely spacious, it didn’t feel crowded at all. (There was a small wait at the breakfast venue.) You can take a relaxing walk around the property, and the large public bath is also spacious—so if you don’t mind walking a bit to make up for lack of exercise, it’s no problem. The room was plenty spacious, and with the ocean right in front of you, it felt very open. However, even though it was mid-May, the sunlight was quite strong from morning and it felt hot. In summer, it seems like you’d need to run the air conditioner full blast. There was only a shoji screen, so I thought it would be nice to have curtains or blinds with better sun-blocking effect. All of the staff were kind as well, and we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

    It was the best trip ever.

    I stayed here to enjoy the sand bath. There is a Shuttle Service bus from Ibusuki Station to Hakusuikan, so I was able to get there without any trouble even without a car. The sand bath I came for was very relaxing, and afterward I could unwind by soaking in the large public bath!

    Nice Onsen

    I’m glad I got to try a sand bath for the first time. The baths are spacious, and there are many different types of Onsen, so it never gets boring. I chose the Italian dinner, and it was delicious and great value for the price.

    Amazing!

    We stayed at Hakusuikan to celebrate our anniversary. As expected, when it comes to Ibusuki, Hakusuikan is the one—no doubt about it. They also accommodated a surprise cake at dinner, and everything was completely stress-free; time flew by, and it became a wonderful memory in our lives. We would love to stay again next time. Thank you very much for everything. We are truly grateful.

    Highly satisfied.

    The staff’s hospitality, the Room (we were kindly upgraded), the Italian meals, the Onsen, and the sand bath—everything was outstanding and made for wonderful memories. The property is spacious, and it’s a bit of a walk from the Room to the Onsen, so it may be challenging for guests with limited mobility; however, the Onsen was so clean and relaxing that it more than made up for it.

    I was warmly welcomed back as a returning guest for my first stay in 20 years.

    On Sunday, March 22, 2026, the three of us stayed as a family for the third time. It was our first stay in 20 years, and a member of your sales team came to greet us and warmly welcomed us back as returning guests. This time we stayed in a Room on the 5th floor of the Satsuma Wing. The sea was right below our window, with the Osumi Peninsula visible across the water—an amazing view. We were satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the meals. In Kagoshima we had planned to eat pork shabu-shabu and tonkatsu, but they were served here and that alone left us completely satisfied. The fish dishes were especially good: the sea bream sashimi was very fresh and delicious, and the grilled fish was also excellent. The sand bath is something you can enjoy again and again. One family member has difficulty walking, so it was quite far from our Accommodation building to Genroku Bath; we used a wheelchair. Although the layout involves entering from the second-floor bath entrance and going down stairs to reach Genroku Bath, there is also a wheelchair-accessible entrance on the first floor, which was very helpful. We had a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

    This Accommodation was a great place to enjoy Ibusuki’s sand baths and Genroku-style baths.

    The Accommodation I’d been wanting to stay at.<br>With the beach, a spacious garden, and great views, I was able to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday.<br>Dinner was fully booked so I was worried breakfast would be crowded, but there was a wide variety of dishes and the layout was well designed, so there were no lines and I was very satisfied.<br>Thank you for your hospitality.

    I stayed here with a friend on a girls’ trip. The sand-steaming Onsen and the Italian meal at the Satsuma Denshokan were both wonderful. It was great that we could go to the Italian restaurant in a yukata and slippers—perfect after a bath. You can also step out into the very spacious garden in slippers, so you can cool off by the seaside after your bath. Please be sure to take a walk around the large garden. The next morning, we walked to Chiringashima Island. I only learned after arriving in Ibusuki that at low tide, a path appears and you can walk across to the island. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go because of our schedule, which was disappointing. It seems it takes about 20 minutes to cross. Even if you arrive at the Hotel early, there’s plenty to see and do. I especially loved the sand bath, so I’d like to come back for it again.

    Spacious bathroom

    The large public bath was very spacious, and I was able to relax and enjoy it. The washing area and changing room were never crowded, and it was great that fresh towels were stacked up so I could use a new one each time. I enjoyed tasting “Ichidon” at the shochu dojo, and since it was delicious, I ordered it with dinner. All of the dishes were tasty, and the portions were just right. As it’s a large Hotel, the walk from the Room to the bath was a bit long, but overall it was an Accommodation I was very satisfied with.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I’ve stayed here every year for the past few years. It’s a large Accommodation with many guests, but the bath is so spacious that it never felt crowded. Dinner came with fried rice and drinks in addition to ramen, and I was completely full. The breakfast buffet included my husband’s favorites, like kombu rolls and eggplant, so he seemed very satisfied. I’d like to visit again around my birthday, but since it’s during summer vacation, I expect it will be busy.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    I chose this Accommodation for my first visit to Ibusuki. It’s a magnificent, atmospheric building that made me feel its history and dignity. The grounds are vast, so I got a little lost at first, but that was part of the fun and became a great memory. I also tried the Accommodation’s sand-steaming Onsen—it was wonderful and a truly rare experience. Dinner was also excellent, and the Kurobuta shabu-shabu was the best pork shabu-shabu I’ve ever had! The portions were generous, and I made sure to finish all of the Kurobuta without leaving any behind. It’s a truly wonderful Accommodation. Thank you very much.

    It was cold...!?

    We stayed at Rikyu in late January and enjoyed the sand-steaming Onsen and the spacious Genroku bath. It’s a bit of a walk to the dinner venue, but it was very cold when we passed through the exposed ground-floor corridor on the way there. After warming up in the Onsen, we quickly got chilled again. There was no guidance from the staff, but on the way back we returned to our Room via the underground floor. Dinner was pork shabu-shabu, and we were surprised by how much there was (the meat was a bit tough). At the shochu tasting corner, we had just one glass of Mori Izo. The attendant was rather unfriendly (sorry!), so it didn’t feel like a place to relax and enjoy a drink.

    I will use it again.

    I visited Ibusuki to experience a sand bath and chose Shiroyama-kan for the best accommodation. The beautiful pine tree-lined path leading to the building heightened my expectations, and I was amazed by the stunning entrance and garden view beyond it. All the staff greeted me with warm smiles and provided exceptionally polite service from check-in to guiding me to my room. Upon entering the room, I was impressed by its spaciousness and breathtaking view—not only of natural beauty but also of the meticulously designed garden. I thoroughly enjoyed the much-anticipated sand bath, which alone was satisfying, but the spacious indoor bath (Genroku Bath) was equally impressive. The meals were also incredibly delicious. Next time, I plan to stay longer!

    Second stay at Shirozukan - completely satisfied.

    During my previous stay, everything was wonderful except for the fact that I couldn't see the ocean from my room, so I decided to revisit for a better experience. This time, I reserved a room with an ocean view and the Rikyuu. It was absolutely the right choice. The room had large windows offering a stunning panoramic view of the ocean. The Genroku Bath and Sand Bath were also very close to the room, and even though it was just a one-night stay, I enjoyed the Genroku Bath three times. We also received celebratory wine for my partner's birthday—thank you so much! This is an Onsen accommodation we would love to visit again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I stayed here to visit the Eevee Poké Lids. Since I traveled by car, the accommodation was conveniently located, making everything smooth. On the day of arrival, I was informed that there was an upgraded room available, and I decided to stay in it for an additional fee. It was spacious and comfortable for my family of three. Personally, I really enjoyed the sand bath! The gentle warmth spreading through my body felt amazing. The garden was also well-maintained; despite its vast size, it was impressively cared for. For dinner, we chose an Italian course at a separate villa. However, the timing between finishing one dish and receiving the next felt slightly delayed, which gave a drawn-out impression—hence my 4-star rating—but overall, it was a wonderful accommodation!

    Stayed at the accommodation for a marathon event.

    This time, I stayed at the accommodation to participate in the Ibusuki Nanohana Marathon. After running 42.195 km and exhausting my body, the onsen helped me recover significantly. The meals were delicious, showcasing the finest ingredients from Ibusuki and Kagoshima to their fullest potential. Although I reserved late this time, a cancellation opened up a room in Rikyuu, allowing me to stay there for the first time—and it was wonderful! Sitting on the long chair and gazing out at Kinko Bay through the large round bay window was breathtaking; just looking at it brought a sense of calm and serenity to my heart. The sea sparkling under bright daylight, glowing as sunlight faded in the evening, or turning pink near dawn—all were sights that made me want to keep watching forever. I was reminded once again of how amazing this accommodation is. Thanks to it, I had an incredibly enjoyable travel run experience. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful Ryokan!

    The room and facility are honestly a bit old, but everything is thoroughly cleaned, and even the windows are spotless! Flowers are arranged in various places, making it a very pleasant stay! The meals allowed us to fully enjoy the flavors of Kagoshima, and they were absolutely delicious! The Onsen water was abundant and of excellent quality, leaving our skin smooth and soft. Lastly, the staff's warm smiles made us feel so welcomed. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

    Italian Restaurant Location

    The Italian cuisine was delicious with various creative touches. However, the location was far from the accommodation building, making it difficult to navigate in the dark. Since it is nighttime, we would appreciate more detailed lighting along the road for easier access.

    Best value for money. Don't miss the Italian dinner!

    The building is absolutely stunning. Dinner is Italian cuisine served at the adjacent Denshokan. Dining in such a wonderful location was truly impressive. The historic building and spacious accommodation were delightful, and although old, the bath was very large, and I enjoyed the sand bath as well. The sand bath requires an additional fee and felt a bit pricey, but the excellent value of the Accommodation Fee made it completely worth it. If you visit Kagoshima, this place in Ibusuki is a must! Highly recommend trying the Italian cuisine—it was incredibly delicious. Overall satisfaction was extremely high.

    Italian Cuisine

    On the first day, we had Japanese cuisine in a room along the corridor. However, there was someone taking photos of the room with a camera while everyone was dining, which made me feel there was a lack of awareness regarding personal information protection compliance. I asked the staff to address this issue, and they assured me they would be more careful in the future. On the second day, it was Italian cuisine. At check-in, there were no explanations about the location of the restaurant. Since I couldn't find it, I asked a woman who seemed to be a young proprietress standing at the entrance. She pointed towards a small torchlight outside. It was pitch dark outside; walking through dimly lit areas and crossing roads where cars passed by while feeling lost, we finally managed to reach the restaurant at last with great effort. I travel frequently and have never experienced such issues at other accommodations before; hence I decided to write about it here. That said, I could sense that all staff members were very attentive and considerate throughout our stay—it is an accommodation where their efforts are noticeable in this regard. However, it felt disappointing that even though she appeared as if leading from above as proprietress herself stood merely bowing slightly near entrances without much engagement overall during interactions observed firsthand compared against expectations set prior based upon past experiences staying via IKYU.com bookings elsewhere previously!

    As there was no place to leave feedback on the official website, I am posting my Review here. - The foreign staff member who showed us to our Room was very knowledgeable, and I was impressed. Thanks to their advice—“If you’re planning to do the sand bath, it’s best to go early because there will be group guests”—we were able to avoid the crowds. - The baths had a great variety and were enjoyable, but the ukiyo-e themed bath had no step or ledge, so I slipped in, hit the edge of the bath, and ended up with a bruise. I would have appreciated a simple warning such as “Watch your step” or “Caution: depth.” What also shocked me was that even though I fell into the water with a loud splash, a staff member nearby did not react at all. I also witnessed someone slip and fall on a rain-wet corridor when returning indoors after walking outside. Causing injuries defeats the purpose of hospitality, so I hope you will review your safety measures. - Dinner had a good reputation so I had high expectations, but even though it wasn’t particularly busy, dishes kept coming one after another and we couldn’t enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace, which was very disappointing. Despite that rushed service, the soup was lukewarm, the grilled dish was cold, and the crab had clearly been sitting out for some time and had dried out.

    Exceptional Hospitality

    Stayed at the accommodation after visiting the Satsuma Denshokan. Enjoyed a sand bath and the beautiful large public bath, which offered an excellent Onsen experience. Dinner was a Japanese Kaiseki meal, with every dish being delicious, complemented by Kagoshima's unique shochu for an enjoyable evening. This time, I could only stay for one night due to time constraints, but next time I would love to enjoy a more relaxed multiple night stay.

    It was excellent.

    I enjoyed a solo travel plan and had a relaxing stay at the ryokan. It was my first time in Kagoshima and Ibusuki, and everything, including the meals, was wonderful. I also experienced the sand bath. It was a perfect holiday. I hope to visit again someday.
