    Long time no see!

    I love Lake Biwa and often stay at hotels with lake views. It's been a while since I stayed at this Hotel. This time, I was upgraded to an upper floor, which I loved as I enjoy higher floors. I also got a late check-out, allowing me to fully enjoy a relaxing hotel life. The bathroom and toilet at home are of higher quality, so that was slightly disappointing.

    As expected of a tourist Hotel.

    It had been a long time since I stayed at a Prince Hotel Group accommodation, and I was reminded of their high quality. I was delighted to have been given a room on a higher floor, even if it might have been by chance. While the facility shows some signs of age, it didn’t bother me much, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the showerhead and hairdryer were from ReFa. My family who stayed with me also enjoyed it. The breakfast seemed to focus on ingredients from Shiga Prefecture, so I chose those options. The honey from Azuchi stood out as particularly excellent. This kind of experience is rare in business hotels, and I enjoyed it along with the view of Lake Biwa. Being close to Kyoto is another plus—I’d love to stay here again!

    Two 3-person Rooms w...

    Two 3-person Rooms were used among friends. Instead of a large public bath, the Room's private bath felt like a home bath, with a spacious washing area, bucket, and chair provided—clean and pleasant. The lake view and morning sunlight were refreshing, making it truly relaxing.

    Satisfaction Worth the Price

    Great view. Noise from other rooms is noticeable (footsteps from the upper floor, high-pitched sound during water usage). No public bath. Neither good nor bad, I don't think I would use it again for business trips.

    Delicious Meals and Comfortable Moments

    We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast buffets. The variety of dishes was abundant, and large plates with fewer leftovers were promptly replaced, showing great attention to detail. This allowed us to enjoy the delicious food with peace of mind. The staff's service was excellent, making our time very pleasant.

    It was a great trip.

    I stayed on the 33rd floor. The weather was perfect, and the view of Lake Biwa from the room was stunning. The phrase "the best seat for Lake Biwa" truly fits. The front desk staff were polite and provided excellent service. At the Chinese restaurant for dinner, they carefully accommodated our requests and offered kind and friendly service. Although it was a bit disappointing that the bath wasn't an Onsen, I appreciated that the bathroom in our room wasn’t a unit bath but had a separate washing area, allowing me to relax in the bathtub comfortably. On our way home, my husband and I kept saying what a great hotel it was. It was a short stay, but it might be our most memorable part of our trip to Shiga. Thank you very much!

    I have used this place several times, and the view of Lake Biwa is spectacular. I'm pleased that I can take my time in the bath. This time, the pillow was too low, but I was able to sleep well after getting another one. It was a bit disappointing that the humidifier ran out of water quickly. I will use it again.

    Good Hotel

    I felt inconsistency in the staff's service. Both during check-in and check-out, the reception atmosphere felt rushed and gave a cold impression. The guest room was disappointing only in terms of the bathroom, but everything else was excellent.

    A Reward for the Year

    Although we arrived a little late due to transportation issues, we were able to enjoy a graceful and relaxing time until check-out. We were allowed to enter for dinner just before the last order, and thanks to that, we were able to enjoy the best meal. We indulged in a luxurious breakfast buffet. Check-out was at 11:00, which was leisurely, and the parking lot allowed free entry and exit until 14:00, so we were able to take our time exploring the surroundings. My family also expressed a desire to stay again, so we would definitely like to use the Property again.

    Thank you for the warm hospitality!

    We utilized the New Year's Plan for a total of three people, including my 89-year-old mother and her daughters. My mother requires level 5 nursing care and uses a wheelchair, but we stayed at this hotel during the summer for the fireworks festival plan and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves thoroughly. Therefore, we visited this time without any worries, rather with excitement. Thanks to the warm and sincere hospitality from the reservation staff and all the other staff members, it was a two-day stay filled with gratitude and emotion from check-in to check-out. The New Year's event on the day of our stay was a vocal ensemble and bingo tournament while enjoying a dinner buffet. As the clear singing voices spread, my mother's expression brightened, and she hummed the lyrics, clapped, and swayed her body... Seeing my mother, who once enjoyed music and choral activities, in such a way made us feel incredibly happy and nostalgic. Unfortunately, my mother couldn't eat the buffet dishes, so we brought nursing care food, which the staff kindly agreed to warm up despite being busy. They beautifully served it on a New Year's-themed gold-rimmed plate, which made my mother exclaim with joy. My mother even won at the bingo tournament, which was a surprise! We all got very excited, saying, "This year will be a good one!" We were provided with a room near the elevator, which was very helpful for wheelchair movement. We enjoyed the view of Lake Biwa and the sight of waterfowl leisurely spending their time from the large window in the room. Thanks to the IKYU Diamond Member benefits, we were able to check out at noon, allowing us to relax until departure. We are truly grateful to everyone at Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel (Biwako Otsu Purinsu Hoteru) for taking care of us this time as well. Thanks to you, we had a very good New Year. We hope to visit for the fireworks festival next. We look forward to your continued support.

    The staff's response was very polite and pleasant, and on top of that, I was very satisfied with the room upgrade. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast. From now on, I would like to stay at Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel for my accommodations in Shiga Prefecture.

    The view of Lake Biwa is magnificent.

    The view of Lake Biwa was indeed stunning, but despite it being December, the area was quite crowded. The shuttle bus from Otsu Station had a long line; although I managed to board, many were left behind and had to wait for 30 minutes, which seemed unfortunate. At check-in, the front desk staff's guidance was insufficient. There were separate elevators for lower and upper floors, but no explanation was provided, leading to confusion and having to switch midway. The room felt very outdated and looked significantly different from the photos shown at the time of Reservation. Perhaps it was an unrenovated room? The sofa appeared worn out with no sense of cleanliness, and the table surface was heavily deteriorated and uneven. Even the slippers looked old and lacked cleanliness. The bathroom had a small bathtub resembling a home bath rather than what you'd expect in a hotel. The bed in my room didn’t have the foot throw as shown in photos either; overall, it felt far removed from the clean and modern guest rooms depicted online. For over 30,000 yen during this season, I found this pricing unreasonable. After checking out when I asked an employee in the lobby about access to Hama-Otsu station, their response felt careless—this confirmed that I wouldn’t be returning here again. A long-term closure for renovation might be necessary for improvement!

    Early Christmas

    Thank you for taking care of us last year and this year as well. We look forward to your hospitality next year too. The gentleman at the restaurant engaged us in conversation, making the buffet and breakfast enjoyable. She was pleased, and it became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    It's amazing!

    The room for two people was spacious and comfortable! The view from the window was amazing, and it was a pity that I couldn't see it at night, haha. Everything was perfect! There were Onsen around, so even though the Hotel didn't have a large public bath, I visited them while sightseeing! I am satisfied! The access was good, and I would like to stay again when I go to Shiga!

    Great value for money

    Considering the overall facilities and services of the Hotel, the view from the Room, and the inclusion of breakfast, this is the first Hotel where I felt such great value for money and satisfaction. I thought it was much better to stay here and go sightseeing than to stay at an expensive Hotel in Kyoto.

    The Room I stayed in...

    The Room I stayed in this time was on the 28th floor, offering a great view of Lake Biwa, truly a breathtaking sight. It was also a very spacious Room, with separate living and bedroom areas, making it very comfortable. The breakfast venue was on the top floor, and I was very satisfied with the delicious food I enjoyed to my heart's content.

    There is nothing but gratitude for being able to make a Reservation through IKYU.com for this major event. If there is a point of dissatisfaction, it is that there is no coffee among the amenities. Even if it's a Ryokan, I would like to request the provision of coffee.

    The once-envied Hotel

    I spent my university years in Shiga. When this Hotel was built, I felt very proud. Even now, its presence is outstanding. Although the effects of aging cannot be denied, efforts in the software aspects such as hospitality are evident. I was allowed to check in early. The automatic check-out was also very convenient. The view of Lake Biwa from the window is very pleasant, but the spider webs detract from its charm (I'm curious how the spiders managed to reach the 26th floor?). Cleaning the exterior walls might be challenging, but...

    I will stay again.

    Although my arrival was significantly delayed, my room was upgraded, possibly because I had informed them in advance. Every time, I look forward to the breakfast the next morning. Having breakfast while enjoying the view of Lake Biwa from the high floors with a great view is a luxurious time. I will be staying again next month.

    Unexpectedly Wonderful Otsu Prince Hotel

    Celebrating its 35th anniversary, I had a slight concern that it might be a bit tired. However, with the diamond benefits, I was able to stay in a wonderful room. Everything was well-maintained, and it was comparable to a new hotel. This time, I had dinner outside, but the bar's atmosphere was nice, and the breakfast was delicious. In my opinion, there seems to be a difference in breakfast's fresh vegetables, milk, and yogurt, so I checked, and it passed the test. It's a hotel I would definitely like to use again.

    Relaxing Lake Biwa View Room

    It was a last-minute reservation the day before, but they upgraded us to the 25th floor, and the lake view was great! The bathroom had a washing area, and the bathtub was spacious enough to stretch my legs. However, the sound of water running from the taps in the bathroom and washbasin was a bit concerning. Overall, it was good.

    I used the property with breakfast and dinner included, but the dinner had few items and was unsatisfactory. The bed was hard, and I woke up several times, unable to sleep well. Breakfast was crowded, and I couldn't enjoy a relaxed meal. There is nothing particularly distinctive or satisfying, so I will not use it again in the future.

    The warmth of the staff

    Unfortunately, the weather on the day of our stay was not favorable, and we couldn't enjoy the wonderful scenery. However, the staff warmly interacted with us in various situations, which was comforting. I would like to visit again when the weather is nice. The facility had remnants of the bubble era here and there, which was interesting.
