    Because our last sta...

    Because our last stay was wonderful, we returned after a year, looking forward to it the whole time. We were happy that the same attendant who took care of us last time welcomed us with a smile. The meals were all delicious—not only the generous Echizen crab, but also the other sashimi and breakfast. We were also pleased that the proprietress came to greet us in our Room during dinner. Taking a photo with both the proprietress and our attendant before we left is a cherished memory. After sightseeing all day, my feet were quite sore, but after soaking many times in the Onsen in our Room, the pain was gone by the next day—I was reminded again how wonderful Awara Onsen is. I was also glad to see that the Room amenities had been updated. With delicious food and water, a comfortable Room atmosphere, and warm service, this is a lovely Accommodation that makes you want to come back again next year by the time you leave. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    It was wonderful. The staff took great care of us, and their manner was excellent. We enjoyed the Onsen in both the large public bath and our Room. Above all, we thoroughly enjoyed the crab. It was a comfortable Accommodation where we wished we could have stayed longer.

    A warm and welcoming Ryokan

    This was my second stay at this Hotel. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which was very comfortable, and the Hotel itself felt new and impeccably clean. Needless to say, the Echizen crab kaiseki dinner was outstanding. My sincere thanks to the chef who prepared the crab and to the female staff member who assisted us. The crab was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was also excellent, with fresh local ingredients used in every dish. The eggs were sourced from a pesticide-free, stress-free farm. The miso soup was handmade by all staff together in February. I am truly grateful for the warm hospitality of everyone at the Hotel, and I would love to stay again.

    The Finest Hospitality

    Upon our arrival, a staff member hurried over to guide us so we wouldn’t enter the one-way street, and we were shown around with great care. After getting out of the car and entering the property, we were surprised to be welcomed by many attendants in beautiful kimono, kneeling in seiza. Once we reached our Room, the proprietress promptly came to greet us; our conversation flowed easily and felt very pleasant. The last crab of the year was also magnificent—firm, perfectly boiled with just the right amount of salt—and we were very satisfied. At departure, everyone saw us off with warm smiles, and we left feeling wonderful. Thank you for everything during our stay.

    Always wonderful.

    I’ve stayed at so many Onsen Accommodations over the years, and I’m truly grateful for them all, but Beniya is the best in every way. You can really feel how hard everyone works. It’s a shame that the Onsen town itself has become run-down. Compared with Kinosaki, Shibu, and Nozawa as Onsen towns and Accommodations, I hope the town will work hard to revitalize itself.

    When I took off my s...

    When I took off my shoes and stepped into the Room at the end of a long hallway, it reminded me of a long-established Ryokan in Kyoto. When I opened the bathroom door, that feeling became even stronger. A cozy space, delicious meals, a young attendant who responded calmly and accurately, and a bath I wanted to soak in again and again—everything was wonderful. Even though I made a last-minute Reservation and visited in less than 10 days, I left completely satisfied. Thank you very much.

    This is the best accommodation.

    This was my first trip to Fukui. Since it’s not a place I can visit often, I decided to splurge a little and chose Beniya—and it was absolutely the right choice. The attendant in charge of our Room was still quite young, but worked efficiently and confidently, so I felt at ease asking for advice about various things. Not only the cuisine, but also the atmosphere of the Room was wonderful, and I truly felt it was thanks to the warm hospitality of the proprietress and all the staff. I was surprised by both the variety and quality of the drinks in the lounge after bathing, and we enjoyed chatting there for a long time. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

    Back here again this year for crab...

    Just like last year, I came back again this year because I was craving crab. When we arrived by Shuttle Service, I got to see Mr./Ms. M again, who helped us last time. While chatting about our previous stay, they guided us to the Misono Room we’d be staying in this time—and I got excited all on my own thinking, “This is the same Room as that video!” (lol). Then the proprietress came to greet us, and I was truly humbled that she remembered us. After settling into the Room, we relaxed in the large public bath and enjoyed a long soak in the Onsen. After a quick beer, it was finally time for crab in our Room… We’d heard “It’s especially good this year,” so our expectations were high—and once again, everything was delicious: sashimi, grilled, and boiled… so good (lol). We watched the head chef expertly prepare the crab up close while everyone in our family enjoyed it with their favorite drinks. The next morning as we ate another wonderful breakfast, my parents noticed that Mr./Ms. M had drawn the illustrations on the menu card—and even now they still keep it carefully. Wishing we didn’t have to leave, we headed to the station… The final send-off was amazing (lol). Thank you again for taking such great care of us this time as well. I hope we can come back again next year ( ´∀｀ ) A little side story: On my way home, a travel YouTuber I follow happened to be doing a surprise event at a department store in Osaka. When I met her and told her about this trip, she said jokingly, “Where’s my crab souvenir?” (lol) — so I told her she should definitely visit for herself (lol).

    Wonderful Accommodation

    This Accommodation exceeded our expectations—120 points. The staff prepared the crab so it was easy to eat, and when we mentioned in conversation that we were here to celebrate a birthday, the proprietress personally congratulated us and even gave us a gift. It turned into a truly satisfying birthday trip.

    This is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again.

    I stayed at Beniya for the first time to enjoy crab and the Onsen. The Room we were shown was very beautiful and spotless, with a wonderful view of the garden, and I was surprised at how large the in-room bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was. Meals were served in the Room, so we could take our time and enjoy them at our own pace. The attendant carefully removed the meat from a large, tag-certified crab packed full of meat, making it easy to eat, so we could fully savor it without struggling. It was also the perfect season for Seiko crab, and we were able to enjoy Beniya’s special steamed Seiko-crab rice as well—we were completely satisfied. Thank you very much for having the proprietress come to greet us in our Room and for giving us so many souvenirs when we left.

    Everything was wonderful.

    Not only are the building and the Room itself wonderful, but the hospitality of the proprietress and all the staff is warm, kind, and truly moving. This was a trip to Hokuriku to celebrate both my birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary, and we are very grateful for your thoughtful care. The proprietress even waved to us until our car was out of sight, and it made us want to stay here again someday. After checking out, when we arrived in Kanazawa, we received a call letting us know we had left some clothing in the Room, and they kindly sent it to our home. Even though we caused you trouble, it arrived with a polite letter enclosed. It was truly a wonderful stay. Thank you very much!

    The perfect Accommodation for savoring crab.

    Given the price, you may hesitate a bit, but the crab and cuisine will not disappoint. Some aspects, such as the amenities, felt a little lacking, but the outstanding food and the staff’s attentive service more than made up for it. We will definitely return.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the crab and the Onsen.

    We stayed here to enjoy crab and brought my mother, who uses a wheelchair. All the staff provided wonderful hospitality. We enjoyed plenty of sashimi, grilled crab, and boiled crab while having drinks. The dishes other than crab were also delicately prepared, beautifully presented, and very delicious. My mother was happy that she could soak in the bath up to her shoulders for the first time in a while. We reserved the in-Room bath just for her, and the large public bath was also very pleasant.

    Crab Trip

    I was amazed by the size of the shell on the extra-large 1.2 kg crab! The food was excellent overall. However, the crab sashimi seemed to have been soaked in water for too long, making it sticky and preventing me from tasting its natural sweetness, which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was wonderful—the rice cooked in a traditional pot looked beautifully glossy and truly impressed me. The Onsen left me pleasantly warm for a long time, to the point that I couldn’t stop sweating easily. The in-Room Onsen is very hot unless you add water while stirring to cool it down. The attendant who took care of us provided outstanding service.

    All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feast

    We enjoyed an exceptional, large Echizen crab—something you can likely only experience by visiting in person—served as sashimi, grilled, and steamed. A true crab feast. In addition, the attentive hospitality and the continuously flowing Onsen warmly soothed both body and mind. The Room was thoughtfully laid out, with a dining area with a table, a bedroom for laying out futons, and a bath facing the inner courtyard—an atmosphere unlike any Ryokan Room we have stayed in before. It was a deeply memorable, high-quality holiday.

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. I would like to share my personal impressions from my first stay. The purpose of this trip was to enjoy crab, and I chose “Beniya” in order to spend a comfortable time even at a certain price point and to eat high-quality crab. To be honest, my overall impression was “so-so.” Having stayed at various Ryokan of a similar level, I was disappointed by a few points that simply did not suit me. The points I found disappointing are as follows: *I had assumed the attendant would greet us and introduce themselves by name, but I had to ask. *Several different staff members came in and out before we were handed over to the attendant. *There was quite a bit of casual conversation among staff. (I noticed staff chatting one after another near the lounge area, fairly close to guests.) The good points are as follows: *I was able to enjoy the crab we came for—it was delicious. *The staff were friendly. *Everything was kept very clean. These are purely my personal impressions. I had been very much looking forward to visiting Beniya and had set my expectations quite high on my own, so I felt it would be best to keep expectations moderate.

    Everything is perfect.

    After arriving by Shinkansen, the Shuttle Service staff were already waiting at the ticket gates (advance Reservation required). After a little over a 10-minute drive, we arrived at the Ryokan, where the staff escorted us to our Room. Both check-in and check-out can be completed in the Room. Meals are also served in-room, and our dedicated attendant even prepared the crab for us and kindly substituted dishes if there was anything we didn’t like—truly attentive service. The bath is small, but it was never crowded, so we could relax and enjoy it. During dinner, large snowflakes were falling outside, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

    I had always wanted ...

    I had always wanted to stay here, and since it was just a few days after our wedding anniversary, we decided to make it a special trip and enjoy some crab. The heartfelt hospitality from the hostess and staff made us feel truly happy. The food was absolutely delicious and left us deeply impressed. The room's arrangement was comfortable and relaxing. If I may offer some feedback, I would appreciate higher-quality bath towels. Also, there was only one bath towel provided; having two without needing to request extras would be nice, along with small towels as well (other similar accommodations seem to provide plenty of towels). Although I mentioned these minor details, overall, this accommodation was exceptional. While we may not be able to visit frequently, it is definitely a place we want to return to! Thank you so much for the wonderful celebratory song from the hostess and for all the amazing memories created by the staff!

    Thank you for your hospitality last year. I enjoyed the Sekogani Gratin I bought as a souvenir for the first time in about 20 years. It brought back nostalgic memories of those days. The container was the same, and the taste remained unchanged (I think). It was delicious. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you very much!

    A very comfortable and lovely accommodation.

    Our youngest daughter, an elementary school student, was so excited about the crabs. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the beautiful large bath and complimentary drinks after bathing, everything was incredibly thoughtful and satisfying at this accommodation. The meals were all carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely wonderful. We used both the private room bath and the large public bath about 10 times. The natural hot spring water is truly exceptional. We talked about staying in a larger room with our whole family next time. This is the first accommodation that made us feel like we definitely want to come back again. After our daughter's exams are over, we will surely visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    I visited Fukui Pref...

    I visited Fukui Prefecture for the first time to enjoy crab and had a delightful meal of Emperor Crab at Awara Onsen Benibeniya. The connection with local farmers and the staff's dedication, such as making their own miso, was impressive. Every dish made with carefully selected ingredients was delicious and truly moving. Perhaps it’s thanks to the cheerful proprietress, but the young staff members were vibrant and enthusiastic in their work, leaving a very positive impression. Thank you for your hospitality... I would love to stay again when I visit Hokuriku next time!
