    A Wonderful Resort You'll Want to Visit Again

    It was my first time in Okinawa, staying at a resort facility. Although there were some minor disappointments, such as stains on the sofa in the room, the room itself was well-maintained and clean. What stood out positively was the pleasant attitude of the staff. On the downside, I noticed poor manners from some guests with children. The resort is a wonderful place for families as well, but I was quite surprised to see parents not addressing their children running around in the restaurant or taking food with their hands at the buffet without concern. It might be difficult for staff to intervene directly, but perhaps having separate seating areas for families and other guests could be a thoughtful solution? That said, this seems more like an issue on the guest side rather than something caused by the hotel itself—so it might just depend on luck during your visit. Additionally, while our room had a unit bath, its unusual design with a deep-set bathtub felt slightly unsafe since I was traveling with my elderly parents. Some improvements in this area would be appreciated. That being said, being right by the beach and full of resort vibes made me want to revisit next time with friends of my generation! If visiting again with my parents though, I’d consider booking another type of room. Also, adding breakfast and dinner to your reservation is highly recommended since there are limited dining options nearby; without prior reservations for meals at the hotel’s restaurant(s), you may end up eating quite late due to availability issues.

    A Place to Refresh Your Soul

    Last year, I had to cancel my trip due to a family loss, making this my first visit in two years and my fourth overall. Although the diving was canceled due to poor visibility, I enjoyed a two-hour spa treatment instead. I rented a car and visited Cape Hedo, Emi's shop, Kouri Island, and explored Okuma by bicycle. The kindness of the locals left a deep impression on me. The teppanyaki meals are always so satisfying! I always feel sad when leaving early due to the shuttle service schedule for the round trip. Even with a 3-night stay this time, it still felt like there wasn’t enough time in Okuma—my favorite place. The staff members—from the gentleman driving the cart and the lady tending plants to those at the restaurant and front desk—are all absolutely wonderful! Please welcome me again next time!

    The staff provided exceptional service.

    The front desk staff, as well as the restaurant, shuttle service, and cleaning staff, all provided friendly and courteous service, making my stay very pleasant. However, while I enjoyed the buffet meals, I felt that the variety of dishes was slightly limited compared to other hotels.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I was surprised to find my usage history from 7 years ago. This time, I stayed in a Grand Cottage, so I could use the valet service and club floor (though I didn’t use them much), and I was very satisfied. On the second day, it rained, so I couldn’t do what I had planned, but the satisfaction with the Hotel made up for it. If Japanese breakfast options were added to the beach café’s menu, I would have gone there, but since it only offered Western-style breakfast, I decided not to. I hope to visit again next year!

    A great beach Resort Hotel that you can easily enjoy by renting a car.

    The only challenge is transportation, as renting a car is necessary, but other than that, this is a well-balanced and high-quality Resort Hotel. If you rent a car, there’s a highway partway, so it doesn’t take much time to get there. The Room is spacious enough and equipped with the latest UCC coffee maker. The Hotel seems to thoughtfully assign guests to buildings close to the restaurant or beach unless specific requests are made, making everything easily accessible on foot. The staff's service has a relaxed tropical vibe but feels sincere and impeccable overall. While the bath facilities don’t have particularly high ratings from some reviews, the large public bath near the beach provides towels for convenience and allows you to go empty-handed. The in-room bath also had no issues; strong water pressure was appreciated, along with provided bath salts. Meals were generally delicious, and adding lounge access allowed us to enjoy food and drinks while leisurely gazing at the beach—truly satisfying! Thank you very much for that experience. However, considering its price range as it stands now: those seeking an ultra-luxurious resort might find aspects like the bustling breakfast buffet venue or meal variety less appealing... Personally though—at this current price point—I found everything more than satisfactory just as it is now! I would love another opportunity someday soon for another visit; thank you in advance when that time comes!

    This is the ultimate resort.

    I enjoyed a relaxing stay on the spacious grounds harmonized with tropical plants. The serene beach in the evening, the sunrise sky, and the white sandy shore will remain unforgettable for years to come. The Okinawan corner at the breakfast buffet and freshly served roast beef at dinner were exciting highlights. Although it is a bit far from Naha, the well-maintained Facility and atmosphere are absolutely worth it.

    Enjoy the Night Sky

    This was my second stay this year. The kindness of the staff, the spaciousness of the room, the beauty of the starry night sky, and the excellent meals made me return. All the meals are delicious, but I especially love the detox water. I've already decided that my next stay will also be at Okuma Private Resort.

    A bit disappointing.

    Stayed in October with family. We stayed in a Grand Cottage with club lounge access. The room was spacious and comfortable. However, the lounge during cocktail time was a bit disappointing as the quantity and variety of food seemed insufficient for the number of guests. The pool and beachside were convenient and enjoyable to use. Meals, both breakfast and dinner, were pleasant overall. Service felt understaffed; we had to wait quite a while for both check-in and check-out processes. Since being guided to our room would take time, we decided to walk there ourselves but weren’t informed that our room was on the third floor, so we ended up searching from the first floor upwards... It left us feeling slightly disappointed overall.

    I stayed with the Diamond Member benefits. Checked in 2 hours earlier than usual. The staff asked, "Would you like to use the Diamond Member benefit of a 12 PM checkout?" and I checked out 1 hour later than usual. Although the Diamond Member benefits have since been downgraded, at the time of my reservation, there was a benefit for "free room upgrades (subject to availability at check-in)." However, there was no confirmation regarding this nor any explanation that an upgrade could not be provided due to lack of availability. This was the benefit I was most looking forward to, and I specifically chose this accommodation because it offered Diamond Member benefits, so it was very disappointing. Checking in 2 hours earlier and using the 12 PM checkout were part of the pre-downgrade Diamond Member benefits, so I believe staff should have understood this as well. The facility is not new; visible dust could be seen on shelves and on top of the refrigerator in the room, indicating that cleaning was not thorough. I specifically chose a room with lounge access; however, food, snacks, and drinks available in the lounge were items you could find outside without needing lounge access at other hotels—disappointing from start to finish. While activities are advertised as a highlight here, they are overpriced and poorly managed overall. When trying to inquire about activities via their dedicated line, no one answered despite repeated attempts; upon asking at reception instead, they said they would call back but did not do so even after over 30 minutes had passed. Eventually heading directly to their beach area myself revealed unmotivated staff members alongside short activity durations paired with high costs—ultimately leading me not to participate. Overall—from beginning until end—it was an extremely disappointing accommodation experience!

    First time using it.

    I stayed in the Grand Cottage with lounge access. The Room was very clean, possibly recently renovated. The shower had sufficient water pressure. However, there were no indoor slippers provided, so you need to prepare your own or stay barefoot during your stay. The elevator seemed old and had a slight musty smell. Since it wasn’t a busy season, the facilities weren’t crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience. Breakfast at the main venue was slightly crowded but delicious overall. Due to the narrow layout of the room, if it’s busy, you might end up seated far from the food area, making it inconvenient to carry plates back and forth. On the other hand, breakfast at the lounge-exclusive venue felt luxurious as champagne was available in the morning. The beach was extremely clean due to restrictions on bringing food and drinks—though slightly inconvenient; I appreciated this rule for maintaining cleanliness. The public bath had shallow tubs that require caution when using them. The sauna design included a stove near its backrest and featured lukewarm water in its cold bath—not ideal for sauna enthusiasts seeking proper relaxation or "totonou." Additionally, there’s no outdoor air bathing space available. The dressing room is also small and can feel cramped when crowded. Although I initially thought this Hotel catered mainly to families, adults can fully enjoy their time here as well. Watching sunsets from the beach is truly breathtaking! If I could suggest one improvement—it would be having something like a convenience store on-site—but even without that addition—I’d love to visit again!

    The staff's overall level is extremely low. The Room is severely outdated and honestly not worth the price. Above all, the staff is rude, inconsiderate, slow at work, and lacks attentiveness.

    Facility aging

    The guest rooms are being renovated gradually, but the building itself is old, and signs of aging are noticeable in areas such as the large public bath, pool, and restrooms. However, everything is well-cleaned and maintains a sense of cleanliness, making it pleasant to use. I am curious if there will be major renovation work in the future, but I hope the current overall atmosphere of the Hotel remains unchanged as it is very nice.

    I stayed at the end ...

    I stayed at the end of July. The entrance was like a green tunnel with a spring on the side, giving off a perfect resort vibe that instantly lifted my spirits. Passing through this area on the way to meals made me feel like I was truly on vacation, which I absolutely loved. The property is quite spacious, making it enjoyable to walk around. At night, I even spotted large bats (they seemed similar to Okinawan bats), adding to the unique "Yanbaru" atmosphere. For those who prefer not to walk, don't worry—there's a convenient shuttle service using carts! (laughs) The next morning, I really wanted to swim in the ocean, so I headed straight there after changing into my swimsuit in my room. There's also a pool nearby if you want a change of pace. Unfortunately, checkout time came too soon for me to enjoy everything fully, but I recommend checking in early so you can make the most of your stay. This trip made me deeply appreciate and feel responsible for preserving Okinawa's beautiful nature. I'll definitely return again as part of supporting this wonderful place.     The Hidden Retreat of Okinawa

    The building had an overall old impression, but the room was very clean and comfortable. It is located a bit away from the main road, so there is no noise from cars. I found it truly fitting for the name of a private resort. The meals featured plenty of local cuisine, and everything was delicious. All the guests seemed to be enjoying a relaxing beach resort experience. I would love to come back again.

    First, give it a try!

    "Okuma Private Beach & Resort" I had been hesitating since my 20s, but recently rediscovered it through a search! I was surprised it's still here... With great reviews, I decided to make a Reservation this time. Now, I regret not choosing it sooner! The breathtaking sunset left me speechless, the romantic night view completely different from the daytime scenery—Okuma Beach is a place where you’ll want to stay forever. The fireworks on the beach were stunning and an unforgettable experience. I hope this resort continues to cherish its classic charm and remains unchanged for years to come.

    First stay at this accommodation. The good points: The food was delicious! We chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, and both meals had plenty of variety and great taste, satisfying both children and parents! In the lounge, since the parents don't drink alcohol, we had soft drinks and desserts. The variety and taste were average. And the beach! It was so clear that you could see small fish swimming in the swimming area—absolutely beautiful. The disappointing points... 1) The smoking area next to the souvenir shop is located in a high-traffic area that everyone must pass through to get to places like the front desk, restaurant, or pool. I don't think it needs to be there. For non-smokers, the smell of cigarettes was very unpleasant every time we passed by someone smoking there. Since this hotel has many children as guests, I believe they should relocate it elsewhere. 2) I was surprised by how poorly some female staff members at the front desk handled things. On several occasions when I stopped by reception, they seemed clearly annoyed or uninterested; some didn’t even make eye contact or smile at all—a first for me after staying at various hotels before. (On a positive note, all male staff members greeted us warmly with wonderful smiles and provided attentive service.) 3) The room's air conditioning smelled moldy depending on its temperature setting. We had to keep it on a low temperature constantly to avoid this smell but ended up feeling cold. Overall impression: an average hotel. Our child enjoyed both the pool and beach experience thoroughly—that made it worthwhile for us. Also worth mentioning is that although it was cloudy during our nighttime visit to see stars on the beach sky—it still looked stunningly beautiful. However... encountering centipedes daily added a bit of unease!

    I felt relaxed.

    We visit every year and always enjoy the breakfast buffet, especially the grandma's pork omelet. This year was no exception—it was delicious. The Room is spacious, and we had a great time at both the pool and the beach. The staff were very helpful as well. We look forward to visiting again!

    A Relaxing Hotel for a Laid-Back Stay

    I remember visiting here several times with my parents when I was a child (probably about 30 years ago), and this time, I came as a parent with my own children. The building shows its age overall, for better or worse, but the atmosphere of the Hotel truly made us feel like "We've arrived in Okinawa!" which was wonderful. The sea, pool, and abundant activities provided plenty of enjoyment for the whole family.

    The room size, amenities, facilities, meals, and service were all excellent. If I had to point out any drawbacks, it would be that the sea's transparency was lower than expected and the explanations for sea activities were insufficient and a bit inconvenient. Still, I would love to visit this hotel again if given the chance.

    The Facility is well-maintained and excellent.

    This was my first stay. I used the plan with access to the Shiosai Lounge and enjoyed it multiple times after every meal and during snack time. The facility is filled with tropical plants, and I was impressed by the meticulous care taken every morning, such as trimming and removing wilted flowers. Thanks to this, I was able to enjoy a very pleasant atmosphere. On the day of checkout, when I requested a cart for my luggage, they kindly offered to take a detour around the facility so I could enjoy various views one last time. Such thoughtful gestures are truly wonderful and made me very happy. I look forward to staying at this hotel again with my family.

    We had a relaxing and precious time.

    We enjoyed a relaxing moment where we could feel time pass slowly. The ocean activities were enjoyable and satisfying. However, it was unfortunate that the sea conditions were not ideal and the water was murky, which prevented us from enjoying snorkeling.

    Too far away.

    Our family has been visiting Okinawa twice a year for the past eight years. We usually stay in suites at any accommodation, but this time we couldn't secure a suite reservation and opted for a room with lounge access. As Diamond members, we were entitled to check-in at 1 PM, but there was no one at the front desk when we arrived, and we had to wait frustratingly long. Even after check-in, there was another wait before being shown to our room. We had planned to head to the beach early with our kids after checking in at 1 PM, but that plan fell through. The room felt outdated. It seemed like they took significant measures against insects as we didn’t even see geckos around. However, there was a dead cockroach on the balcony. The refrigerator was large and included a freezer, which was helpful. The lawn on the property is very well-maintained without any litter—perfect for strolling around comfortably—and walking within the premises wasn’t as inconvenient as expected; it turned out enjoyable overall. However, I imagine rainy days would make things quite challenging here since staying inside such rooms would be tough unless you're just sleeping. We tried snorkeling but didn’t spot even one fish in the sea—a first-time experience for us since most beaches have some fish even within netted areas that kids can enjoy watching! The water clarity wasn’t great either; traveling far didn’t reveal much improvement—it made us realize not all distant places guarantee beautiful seas. Even on sunny days during our visit here—our elementary school-aged child remarked how "the sea at Okuma looks murky." On another note though—the activities offered were reasonably priced allowing multiple rounds of enjoyment while their kids' programs stood out positively too! My husband appreciated relaxing vibes despite finding its remoteness somewhat challenging overall. Buffet meals both morning & evening left us satisfied—with dishes like Po-tama or Kachiyu being particularly delicious alongside decent variety ensuring no boredom across three nights spent dining here! However small-sized lounges fell short compared against expectations whereas Oasis coffee quality could’ve improved satisfaction levels further still children loved ordering omelets daily during breakfast sessions where hopping between options worked nicely too! One downside observed involved seeing accumulated poolside waters returned back into pools lowering excitement slightly yet witnessing fireworks along sandy shores created lasting memories instead amidst otherwise average ocean beauty contrasting cleaner sands nearby meanwhile unique demographic trends featuring families bringing teenagers stood noticeable compared elsewhere visited previously suggesting preferences vary widely depending individual needs/preferences shaping experiences differently altogether ultimately defining resort appeal distinctly nuanced ways accordingly fittingly so perhaps?

    The staff's smiles and the fireworks event were fantastic!

    It was my first visit to the Kunigami Village area. The staff's greetings and smiles were wonderful. The building showed some age, but it was well-maintained and left a good impression. From the 3rd and 4th floors of the Grand Cottage, we could see the ocean and enjoy a special time. The landscaping outside featured a variety of plants, and finding a six-petaled plumeria made me feel happy. A few points I noticed: - Occasionally, there was an odor from the upstairs toilet drain. - The towel hanger and wall-mounted rack felt unstable. - VOD was not available on the TV. Since Okinawa has limited channels, having this option would be great for long stays or bad weather days. However, these issues were minor compared to how much I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the Hotel and its meals. The beach and restaurant were spacious enough not to feel crowded, making for a comfortable stay. I would love to revisit with my family in the future! Thank you very much!

    We stayed in the Grand Cottage to enjoy a relaxing time as a couple. The high ceilings and open atmosphere, along with the exceptionally clean and comfortable interior, made for a wonderful stay. Our favorite spot was the oceanfront lounge "CLUB Shiokaze." It was perfect for reading and unwinding in comfort. We appreciated the delightful service of complimentary alcohol and light snacks available from check-in. The staff were courteous, creating an ideal space for those seeking tranquility like us. Highly recommended for anniversaries or special trips!

    Something important to convey

    I have visited Okinawa (including remote islands) more than 20 times, and this was my first time at Okuma. While I left my impressions in the letter in the Room, I would like to particularly mention that it was very inconvenient not to have a place, such as a basket or chair, to put clothes near the bathroom. Although it wouldn't require significant costs, its absence stands out as an inconvenience and could affect overall satisfaction. I recommend considering an urgent improvement on this matter. The dining options, staff, and relaxation services were excellent.

    A Perfect Okinawa Getaway

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Although it took a long time to get from Naha Airport to the Hotel, it was absolutely worth it. I was completely satisfied with my stay. I was able to relax and unwind, and I definitely want to come back again. Thank you very much!

    Beautiful Beach Resort

    Okuma, a pioneer in Okinawa's beach resorts, is quite far from Naha and the airport by car. While there seems to be a Shuttle Service available, we opted for a rental car this time. With complimentary valet service provided, you can drive here with peace of mind. The Hotel grounds feature well-maintained lawns dotted with cottages and villas. By the beachside, you'll find a lounge where you can enjoy the sea breeze, a breakfast venue for lounge users, and even a small observation bath. The Grand Cottage we stayed in had been recently renovated and was bright and clean. Amenities were plentiful, including cosmetics. The hibiscus shampoo provided was smooth and moisturizing—very pleasant to use; it might have been Panpuri before. For breakfast, guests can enjoy both the Surfside Café or Beach Café Oasis (for lounge users). At Surfside Café, you can savor Japanese or Okinawan cuisine. At the seaside lounge "Shiofuu," beverages like beer or juice are available along with light snacks such as cakes during tea time or appetizers before dinner. Since portions are small here, we chose to have dinner at one of the Hotel's restaurants. Naturally, there's a private beach where you can relax under parasols at your leisure. The pool area was lively with children enjoying themselves. The staff were incredibly kind and made our stay truly enjoyable!
