    Perfect for anyone planning their first trip to Okinawa!

    We were blessed with great weather and had a truly fulfilling trip to Okinawa! The location is quite far from the airport, but considering everything, I think this is an excellent-value resort. Reasons are as follows: - Above all, the food is delicious—really delicious! Every dish at every restaurant was outstanding. - Plenty of events such as fireworks, live performances, and a night pool. - Lots to do at the beach, with a wide range of activities available. - Many Rooms are cottage-style, offering an experience different from a typical “Hotel.” The grounds are large so getting around can be a bit of work, but it’s also nice to take a walk after the sun goes down. There’s a shop on-site, and there are many dining options—all tasty—so there’s no need to force yourself to go out during your stay. The Shuttle Service bus is very helpful, and it feels reassuring even for first-time visitors who may be nervous about traveling in Okinawa. There were many families with children as well, so I think families can enjoy themselves without hesitation. On the other hand, this is far from being a “quiet adults-only resort,” so it’s not the place if that’s what you’re looking for. There were some small issues—such as the pools feeling underwhelming for the size of the Facility, or check-in not being well prepared despite knowing when the Shuttle Service arrives—but overall I think you’ll have a satisfying tropical resort experience. If you can overlook the unavoidable physical distance from the airport, you can enjoy relatively great value for your stay—personally, I recommend it.

    The perfect place for a resort, with a beautiful coastline.

    This was my second stay, the first in two years. I understand this Facility was originally operated by JAL. It may be a bit dated now, but the location is an excellent choice—perhaps because it was once land returned from the U.S. military. As expected of JAL, the site selection is outstanding, and Alivila’s Nirai Beach is wonderful as well. I stayed for four nights, but I do have a concern: There is only one breakfast venue, and the offerings are the same every day. That’s the main issue here.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It took over two hours to get here from Naha. Until now we had only gone as far as Onna Village, so this was our first time beyond that. After premium check-in, we were guided to our Room and spent some time in the lounge before heading to the beach. Due to the typhoon, the sea was rough and all activities were completely canceled. We debated choosing a Plan with an Okuma Passport, but since dinner was included, we decided to use the pool for now. The pool is quite compact, and since we came all this way mainly for beach activities, it really depends on the weather—so in a way we were glad just not to be hit directly by the typhoon. The meals were very filling both at dinner and breakfast, which was great. On the other hand, the lounge snacks had limited variety. It didn’t feel particularly special. Our child was disappointed there wasn’t any ice cream. We had given up on beach activities, but after they resumed we were able to do Marble once, and both kids and adults enjoyed it. The sauna next to the beach had a very retro vibe, but it was convenient so we used it during our stay. Our cottage Room was great, and having Shuttle Service by cart made things easy. At the Saturday-only DJ event they played our requested songs and our child was very happy. The fireworks up close were amazing. This is a Hotel we’d love to visit again.

    A consistently reliable stay at Okuma

    We stayed for three nights during the Obon holiday. This was our third year in a row, and each time we feel truly refreshed and enjoy an amazing vacation. Although the weather was poor after the typhoon, it miraculously cleared up from the second day, and we were somehow able to see the Perseid meteor shower as well. The staff were wonderful, and there was nothing that made us feel uncomfortable; our children had a great time too. The only disappointment was that the Diamond benefit of early check-in is no longer available. Since check-in tends to take a little time each visit, that may be the one area for improvement. Thank you again for everything this time as well.

    We were able to relax and unwind at our own pace.

    I visited for the first time in eight years and stayed for two nights. The front desk greeted me with “Welcome back,” which made me very happy—perhaps my previous stay had been noted. About a week before arrival, I also received a courteous phone call with thoughtful suggestions, such as recommending that I make dinner reservations. This time again, I stayed in the Palm Cottage. While the Accommodation still has a sense of history, upgrades like newer air conditioning and refreshed interiors meant it felt comfortable rather than dated. As we were a party of three, an extra bed was prepared before check-in. Since it was a sofa bed, it wasn’t the most comfortable to sleep on, but considering the price, it felt acceptable. I chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast included and had dinner once at the barbecue and once at the buffet. The barbecue set offered plenty of high-quality meat and seafood, which was very satisfying. The buffet was during a campaign period, and the roast beef carved by the chef was excellent; there were so many options that it was hard to choose. Of course, the breakfast buffet is also one of their highlights—the pork-and-egg rice balls and miso soup made by “Obaa” were comforting and delicious from early morning. I truly felt hospitality on par with an overseas resort. I was also able to see one night of the customary fireworks show, making this a memorable stay. On our way home, my family and I talked about wanting to come again. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us during our stay.

    We stayed for four n...

    We stayed for four nights with our child and dog, and it was simply the most enjoyable 4-night, 5-day trip. Above all, the staff were so warm and welcoming that we truly came to love this Hotel. While it may be a bit of a selfish wish, we would be happy if pets were allowed even just near the entrance of the restaurants. That said, we were very grateful that there were several places where we could dine together with our dog. There may be some room for improvement in terms of housekeeping thoroughness and amenities, but more than anything, the comfort was outstanding. Thank you very much. We were able to make wonderful summer memories with our dog as well, and our whole family was truly happy! Our daughter had an amazing time too! We will definitely come back again next year!

    I visit Okinawa thre...

    I visit Okinawa three times a year. I usually stay at a Resort Hotel in Onna Village, but this was my first time here. My child really liked it. Since we stayed on the club floor, I would like the amenities for Child Sharing Existing Bedding to be placed in the Room before check-in. At the very least, I would like this to be explained at check-in. The rice balls and hirayachi made by the grandma in the morning are great. There were also kid-friendly events such as a treasure hunt, and my child wants to come again, so we will stay here again.

    Resort Hotel in Yanbaru

    Unlike my visit one winter about five years ago, the entire Accommodation felt lively this time. When I looked into it, I found that the operating company had changed. There were a few slightly scatterbrained staff members, but everyone truly did their best to provide warm hospitality. What stood out most was how delicious the food was. For dinner, I had an Okinawan set meal at “Iju,” and breakfast was a buffet with many options—but the best were the freshly made “Hiraichi” and “pork-and-egg rice balls,” which really hit the spot both physically and mentally. In summer, I think the bright impression of the Hotel was also helped by the stunning gradation of blues and greens in the sea. Many flowers were in full bloom in the garden, and to my delight I even got to see a rare flower called “Sagaribana,” which blooms at night and falls by morning—found only on southern islands—so I was very satisfied. I think it’s a wonderful Hotel where people of all ages can relax peacefully. The Facility is a bit old, but everything is properly cleaned, which felt reassuring. There was also a large refrigerator with a freezer compartment, so being able to freeze drinks before heading out for beach or mountain activities was fantastic! I’d love to visit again.     Okinawa Time

    Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay. Unfortunately, the rainy season started during Golden Week and the weather wasn’t great, but the nighttime fireworks and the meals were wonderful. The chef-prepared dining service offered truly delicious dishes, and the Okinawan breakfast cooked by grandma was also very tasty. The building does feel a bit old in places. The staff’s service isn’t polished like a typical Hotel, but it had a warm, Okinawan feel. Next time, I’d love to see the ocean on a sunny day.

    The staff were wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay at the Resort Hotel!

    From the moment we arrived at the Hotel, every staff member’s service was outstanding. While there is some age-related wear, it truly is a wonderful Resort Hotel. The beach is also very spacious. We heard that there are only a few Rooms with an ocean view, so we debated between a villa and the Grand Cottage. We chose the Grand Cottage, and you arranged an excellent Room for us—through the trees we could see both the sunset and the sea, and we are truly grateful! The Room and veranda deck were large, and the bath area and plumbing fixtures felt luxurious, which really lifted our spirits. Everywhere on the vast grounds, the lawns and flowers were beautifully maintained. Since the weather was great, we often chose to walk instead of taking a cart as we headed to restaurants, the beach, and the large public bath. Because my husband and I have different food preferences, we really appreciated having a breakfast buffet. Also, since sunset time overlapped with dinner time, we alternated between days with a dinner-included Plan and days without it. Even my husband—who usually doesn’t like buffets—seemed to find many favorites; he enjoyed his meal at ease, and we were also able to fully enjoy IKYU’s Diamond benefits in a relaxed way. At both the beach and Hotel pool, towels, life jackets, and parasols were all provided free of charge. When I started snorkeling without wearing a life jacket even once by mistake, a lifeguard immediately brought one over for me—I was impressed by how carefully they watched over guests (and felt sorry for causing trouble). Besides the beach area pool(s), there was also a deeper pool for adults where we could have fun as well. We declined housekeeping during our Multiple Night Stay and received vouchers in return, which we used effectively at the shop. Thank you very much for your kindness from our email exchanges at Reservation through our stay—we truly appreciate being able to spend such a wonderful time here. As suggestions: it would be nice to have two chairs on the balcony as well as hangers suitable for swimwear.

    We had a wonderful vacation.

    It was my first visit in 14 years, and the ocean sunset was beautiful upon arrival. The Room was well maintained and comfortable. The garden path from the front desk to the cottage was also well cared for, and with such a great location, it made for a wonderful vacation. After playing in the ocean or pool, having a large public bath that you can use right away is greatly appreciated, but I would like to see more thorough cleaning. Specifically, staff came by to check periodically, but they did not tidy up scattered chairs or showers, and standing water caused by hair clogging the drain was left unattended. In the sauna area as well, towels were only flipped over rather than replaced, which felt somewhat unhygienic. For dinner at Okinawan Cuisine Iju, both the food and service were below average. On the other hand, Surfside Cafe—where we had both dinner and breakfast—was excellent in both food and service, so I can recommend it.

    I stayed here during Golden Week.

    Overall, I was satisfied. The Room had a musty smell, but since it was in a building that hasn’t been renovated, I suppose it can’t be helped. The buffet restaurant food was delicious, but the coffee machine wasn’t great. The blended coffee was far too strong, and the café au lait portion was small—do the staff actually taste it? I was also disappointed that the Room towels were very thin and became damp quickly. The loungewear length also felt awkward. It was disappointing that the large public bath is not an Onsen and is shallow, so it’s hard to warm up properly. There were guests loudly arguing in the restaurant due to a marital dispute (I encountered this several times during my stay), and I was disappointed that the staff pretended not to notice. Since other guests are paying for their meals too, I wish they had asked them to leave or handled it somehow. Although it’s quite far from the airport, the sea was beautiful and it was relaxing, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

    This Hotel is a great place to relax and take it easy.

    Although this Hotel is quite far from Naha Airport, it is convenient because there is a free shuttle bus from Hotels in central Naha to Okuma Resort. I stayed in a Grand Cottage, and it was renovated and clean. There are only a limited number of restaurants, but it was not inconvenient. With lounge access, the sunset was wonderful, the stay was very comfortable, and all the staff were pleasant. This Hotel also has a large public bath, which I enjoyed.

    The weather was great that day, and we enjoyed Okinawa’s beautiful scenery. The Hotel Room, the large public bath, and the Hotel all offered an open, airy atmosphere—like an overseas resort (in a good way).

    It was a wonderful place.

    I have visited Okinawa many times, but this was my first stay here. Every part of the Hotel is well maintained, and everything is beautiful and comfortable. All of the staff were kind and courteous. They greeted us properly, which made our stay very pleasant. We also joined the Big SUP activity, and every instructor was gentle and supportive, so we could enjoy it with peace of mind. I’m glad we participated. We had dinner at Surfside Café, and everything we tried was delicious. My family agreed that we will definitely dine here again on our next visit. I would love to make time to stay again for sure. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

    Unfortunately, due to the weather, we couldn’t see the blue sky or the starry sky we had been looking forward to, but we were able to spend a relaxing time in a wonderful space. All of the staff were kind, and their warm smiles made us smile as well. We chose a Plan with dinner included: on the first day we enjoyed Ryukyu cuisine, and on the second day we had the buffet. The Ryukyu meal was a “Ryukyu Gozen,” beautifully presented and enjoyable with its variety of flavors. The buffet offered an impressive selection, and everything was so delicious that we ended up eating too much. We would definitely like to visit again.

    Relaxing Accommodation

    I visit Okinawa almost every year, and this is the Hotel I always stay at when I come—thanks to its wide sandy beach and relaxed, village-style setting. It’s far from the airport and there’s nothing around; that slightly quiet, somewhat run-down feel is part of its charm. I booked a Multiple Night Stay with dinner and breakfast included. Nothing was so delicious that it blew me away, but it wasn’t something you’d overeat either—everything was simply average, and that’s exactly what made it good. The price is reasonable, and I think it’s the perfect place for anyone who wants to unwind and just enjoy Okinawa’s nature at a slow pace. There is a large public bath by the coast, but the changing room is small, it gets quite crowded, and it felt a bit unclean, so it wasn’t my favorite spot. All of the staff are very friendly and kind.

    Is it better to have nothing at all? Are you satisfied with that? At the very least, if only the food had been good, I was disappointed with the recommended Nobeoka roast beef.

    The lush natural atmosphere of Okuma Resort is truly exceptional.

    Okuma Resort offers breathtaking scenery shaped by nature, not modern city views. I had experiences that you can only have here. Okuma Beach is spacious, and relaxing on a beach chair while listening to the waves was the best. The buffet was delicious for both breakfast and dinner, with a wide variety of options. Breakfast started at 6:30 a.m., and I was surprised to see so many guests already lined up waiting. With the beach, pool, and sauna, it’s a Hotel where I’d be happy to stay long-term just here. The price is reasonable as well, which made me very happy. There also seems to be a free Shuttle Service bus from Naha Airport that requires advance Reservation. A 90-minute one-way ride for free is an amazing service. It’s a Hotel I’d love to visit again.

    We’ll definitely be back!

    We stayed for three nights with our dog. All the staff were very kind, the location was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious—we were completely satisfied with our stay. Some small touches we really appreciated… Having warm water at the foot-washing area by the villa entrance, having a floor wiper in the Room, and being provided water for our dog at breakfast, etc. We would definitely love to visit again.

    A Relaxing Place

    I think this is a hidden gem in the northern part of the main island. The Facility has a sense of history, though preferences may vary. You can relax with your family in the cottage, or head out to enjoy the sea with its stretches of white sandy beach and the lush green mountains. The food is delicious, and overall it’s very quiet and peaceful. I’m not a fan of overly attentive full service, so I found the comfortable distance from both the staff and other guests really pleasant. I’ll be back.

    I’ll make it up to you!

    I love the northern ocean views and visit at least twice a year, but this was my first time here! It felt like a long-established Hotel, similar to Moon Beach or Kanucha. The Room was a loft style, so it felt spacious and comfortable. However, I also thought the Grand Cottage might have been better—going up and down the stairs became a hassle, and it was tiring to go downstairs every time for the restroom or drinks. Speaking of restrooms, when traveling there are often Hotels where restroom sounds can be heard outside. In that respect, this Room had a sound-masking feature installed, which is a nice Facility for anyone who cares about that. The weather wasn’t great that day, but the beach was still beautiful. It was disappointing that all activities were canceled due to strong winds even though we had access included with our Room… Next time I’d like to come back in summer with my grandchild. We made a Reservation with a Plan including two meals and chose the dinner buffet. There are many Hotels with great breakfasts, so I didn’t expect much from the dinner buffet—but the menu selection was good, many dishes tasted great, and we enjoyed it until we were completely full! The wine wasn’t very good though. The acerola liqueur we received for my birthday celebration was delicious!! Thank you very much. For breakfast, just as recommended at check-in, we ate Japanese-style items such as pork-and-egg at the main breakfast venue first, then went to Oasis. The view is wonderful there, so Oasis alone might have been enough. Overall it seemed like there were many families with children here, so it looks especially fun in seasons when you can swim in the pool or ocean! It’s quite far from the airport which is a downside, but I would definitely like to return.

    A Resort Hotel with a Touch of Showa Charm

    I didn’t have high expectations, so I wasn’t disappointed, but the aging large public bath Facility could be improved. The meals were neither particularly good nor bad. However, there was a Shuttle Service, and it was a great value at the off-season rate.

    To everyone at Okuma Hotel Resort, and to all the wonderful ladies at the breakfast venue, thank you very much. Your warm smiles and natural hospitality made me feel as if I had come home, and I was truly moved. The beach, lounge, meals, and Room were all excellent. I already can’t wait to come back soon.     A Relaxing Space

    Cottages scattered across a spacious property. The garden trees and flowers are well maintained, and simply walking through while enjoying the scenery is soothing. Our Room was at the far end and showed a bit of age, but it wasn’t inconvenient at all, and we had a very comfortable stay. It was also nice to relax and enjoy coffee in the Room. The beach is kept clean as well, and even in winter the views are incredibly photogenic—amazing. There was a wide variety of dishes, and there were many types of awamori from the southern, central, and northern regions; I thought it could be fun if there were a tasting set to compare them.

    Experience the extraordinary atmosphere unique to Kunigami Village + Cottage.

    Stopped by during a solo cycling trip. The cottages scattered across the vast grounds created a serene space, almost detached from reality. Every view was picturesque, and the location in Kunigami Village allowed me to fully enjoy nature while escaping the hustle and bustle. The sunset seen through the bell was particularly memorable, showcasing seasonal beauty unique to this time of year. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style with minimal menu repetition, making it hard not to overindulge. It was a truly memorable accommodation experience after a long time, and I hope to visit again with my wife next time.

    A long-awaited stay ...

    A long-awaited stay at Okuma. I enjoyed a relaxing time surrounded by the beauty of the white sandy beach, the chirping of birds, and the feeling of nature. The view of the sea from the club lounge was truly soothing. I would love to visit again.

    Every year, we spend the New Year holidays at Okuma, and this year, it was reportedly the first rainy New Year in 20 years. Despite this, all events were held by changing some event venues. Even though regular operations must already be busy, everything was well-organized, allowing us to enjoy another wonderful New Year holiday. However, with bad weather, we couldn't fully enjoy Okuma's blue sea and white sandy beaches. Also, breakfast at Oasis under the morning sun had to be indoors... Okinawa truly depends on the weather. Traveling all the way to Okinawa during the New Year holidays is starting to feel a bit tiring for me, so I might take a break for a while. However, I would love to revisit my favorite Okuma outside of the busy holiday season (I get restless if I don't visit at least once a year). Despite it being peak season during New Year's when it's busiest for business, thank you so much for upgrading us with IKYU Diamond Member benefits and preparing a Junior Suite. My family was amazed by how spacious the room was! Since there were four of us this time and we booked two rooms in total, everyone ended up spending most of their time in the Junior Suite. The meals were as delicious as always. The staff's warm smiles and excellent service made our stay even better. We look forward to visiting again!
