    Birthday accommodation after two years.

    I had been looking forward to my birthday accommodation since spring, always thinking about where to celebrate. This time, I chose Nishimuraya Honkan. I've visited Kinosaki Onsen countless times for day trips, and during the pandemic, I started dining frequently at the neighboring Sanpou restaurant. During a spring meal there, I decided on this stay. I was informed that I could also use the large bath at Shogetsutei, so after arriving past noon and having lunch, I checked in and was kindly provided shuttle service to Shogetsutei and back. Both at Honkan and Shogetsutei, the staff offered exceptional hospitality. This year has been extremely hot; before dinner in the evening, I enjoyed cold drinks several times in the lounge and relaxed in the indoor bath. The timing was perfect as every onsen was practically private for me to enjoy leisurely. The room assigned was closest to the lounge—a cozy space where I could relax comfortably. Next time, I'd love to upgrade to a larger room for an even more luxurious stay. Just one thing—only one issue—the toilet lid in my room would close too quickly and hit my back; this caused some stress during my stay. While hesitant about mentioning it initially since only guests might notice such details, I've decided to share this feedback hoping it can be checked. Dinner at Sanpou was nothing short of gratitude-filled; they even paused our meal so we could go watch fireworks midway through! Breakfast too was absolutely delicious—thank you for such wonderful meals. From check-in to check-out, it turned out to be a delightful day filled with comfort. Thank you for providing me with such a memorable birthday accommodation experience!

    Enchanting Three-Night Stay

    I had the pleasure of staying for three nights at the healing accommodation, Nishimuraya Honkan, which I visit every season. A single night or even a multiple night stay always feels too short, and I reluctantly head home each time. This time, however, I was thrilled to secure a three-night stay during Golden Week and eagerly looked forward to it. The room was "Take no Ma" in the detached building. Above it is "Matsu no Ma," and next door is "Ume no Ma," all of which are exquisite rooms in my opinion. Passing by the local history room with excitement, I entered my room and was immediately enveloped by the soothing aroma of freshly brewed green tea. The private garden view from the veranda was stunning. Dinner was flawless—truly exceptional cuisine reserved for only two groups per evening. Breakfast on the third day featured an abundant menu; among them, the recommended egg over rice dish stood out as absolutely delicious. On the morning of my third night’s departure, I packed with mixed emotions and a sigh of reluctance to leave this wonderful place behind. The staff attending to our room paid attention to every detail, making this vacation truly unforgettable. I look forward to visiting again in autumn—thank you very much!

    Crab is best enjoyed at Nishimuraya Honkan.

    I chose the Matsuba Crab course, and I was very satisfied with the sweetness and umami of the crab. Thank you. On a previous stay, I had a course with two crabs but couldn't finish it and took some home; this time, it was 1.5 crabs, which was just the right amount. As for the facility and guest rooms, being a traditional ryokan, they felt slightly old but understandable. The hospitality showed genuine effort and felt pleasant; however, perhaps due to a younger overall staff age group, there seemed to be some slight disorganization. I would like to visit again during crab season.

    This was my first stay. The room was spacious, and the meals at the annex were delicious and very satisfying. However, the ceiling in the room was low, and my tall companion hit his head several times. It might be helpful to add cushioning to the corners of the ceiling or inform guests upon check-in to be careful about low ceilings to avoid hitting their heads.

    The staff seems younger and more cheerful than before, but it’s a bit disappointing that the service during meal delivery lacks some consideration, as the servers are young both this time and last time. It would be appreciated if they could provide service more tailored to customers. Although they are working hard, I asked twice for them to slow down the serving speed, but it didn’t improve, and I ended up eating delicious meat that had gone cold, which was unfortunate. Other than that, the Room is new and clean, and all the staff members are bright and kind with no complaints. I’ve traveled across The whole country to eat crab, but Nishimuraya Honkan is truly the best.

    I had a relaxing and...

    I had a relaxing and elegant time during the holiday. The tagged Matsuba crab was incredibly delicious. The property itself had charm, was well-maintained, and I was satisfied. The only disappointment was that the lounge was too cold. It would be nice to have more heating during the winter season. Also, it would be great if there were caffeine-free options or herbal tea bags available in the lounge. There were many young staff members, but they left a good impression with their pleasant demeanor.

    It was my first visit in several years. I had a comfortable stay in the renovated room. The facility is old, but well-maintained, and I was satisfied with everything including the service, food, Onsen, and amenities. There were plenty of staff and their response was adequate. Although it was difficult to return due to snow, it was a good experience. Thank you very much.

    Crab feast - completely satisfied.

    I stayed at Nishimuraya in search of crabs. I enjoyed a luxurious time indulging in crabs with the Matsuba Crab Course. The service and hospitality were both excellent at this property. It was a cold day with snow, so I only visited one public bath, but I enjoyed the hotel's bath instead. I relaxed slowly. Completely satisfied with everything. I would like to visit Kinosaki again in a different season.

    It is truly a wonderful Property.

    We stayed with our family of four at the end of the year. This time, we were fortunate to secure a Reservation for a newly renovated Room. With underfloor heating installed in various areas, we were able to comfortably walk barefoot even in the cold winter. I thought it was a very thoughtfully designed Room. Also, being able to enjoy dinner at the dining table was extremely pleasant. We had a wonderful dinner while admiring the beautiful garden, and we were able to spend a very luxurious time. Thank you very much. We will visit again!

    The dignity of a long-established establishment

    I stayed to enjoy the atmosphere of a long-established Ryokan, the Onsen, and the crab. As expected, the building was wonderful, and the overall effort of Kinosaki Onsen town to welcome tourists was excellent. I would like to visit again during the crab season. - Disappointments: The building was beautiful, and the Room had a charming atmosphere, allowing me to relax and spend time comfortably. However, the lobby lounge and the hallways (long and complex) were extremely cold. The distance from the Room to the large public bath was far, and on the way back to the Room after warming up in the Onsen, my body got cold. - Delicious: Both the crab dinner and the Japanese-style breakfast were very delicious. However, it was difficult to serve the miso soup from the pot with a ladle, and it got cold, which was disappointing. I think it would be better to serve warm miso soup directly.

    We indulged in luxurious crab.

    The service and food were good. The open-air bath in the Room was also very nice! However, the mattress and futon laid on the tatami Room were thin, and my back was very sore the next morning. Despite that, overall it was good.

    The level of service remains consistent no matter when you visit.

    Stayed to eat crab again this year. A renowned Ryokan where you can feel the spirit of hospitality everywhere, no matter when you visit. Although Kinosaki Onsen is almost depleted, making it tough as an Onsen, the entire facility was closed for renovation, reducing the number of rooms, but the room keys have been upgraded to card keys, and the room baths are spacious, new, and comfortable. I was concerned since it was the beginning of the Matsuba crab season, but it was tagged from "Shibayama" port and was very delicious. Breakfast was also enjoyable at a seat where you can watch the autumn leaves. Rice cooked in a traditional stove is indeed different. I want to visit every year as an annual luxury.

    I stayed at Hirata-kan.

    I am satisfied to have stayed at the Hiratakan I wanted to stay at. However... since it is far from the front desk, they help carry the luggage during check-in, but they didn't ask about it during check-out. I wish they had asked about the luggage when I called the front desk to ask if check-out was at the front desk. Even when I was walking down the hallway towards the front desk with my luggage during check-out, I passed by two or three employees, but none of them offered to carry my luggage. Perhaps it's inevitable in a large Ryokan...

    Thank you for your hospitality once again. The main building's second-floor room was comfortable and pleasant. Since I had some time, I also enjoyed the Onsen at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei. Dinner was a seasonal Kaiseki meal, beautifully presented and delicious. The service was reassuring, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. I was able to spend my time pleasantly.

    Tajima's Gourmet Stays: Enjoy Matsuba Crab

    It is my first time visiting Kinosaki, the Crab Kingdom, right after the crab season opens. I have visited many times during the winter crab season, but this time I brought my crab-loving sister to enjoy a crab feast at my favorite Nishimuraya Honkan. Our room this time was on the second floor, "Kikyo no Ma," and the elevator made the movement smooth and comfortable. I felt the barrier-free environment from the renovation work a few years ago. The much-anticipated tagged Matsuba crab was, of course, exquisite, and the room attendant served it at the perfect timing, allowing us to enjoy delicious drinks one after another. We savored the marriage of bamboo tube crab sake, wine, and gourmet food. It was a feast of gourmet food, fine drinks, and hospitality. It is understandable that it was selected as Japan's first Michelin Key Hotel in 2024. It was a moment to leisurely chat with my sister after a long time, enjoying the onsen within the property and the tour of the public baths. Our conversation blossomed, and we couldn't stop chatting, much to the amazement of my accompanying husband. Thanks to the room attendant and the staff, it was a healing stay once again.     Relax and unwind

    We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service once again. It was unfortunate that the bath temperature was too hot. I couldn't relax in it. Thank you for preparing for my mother's 90th birthday celebration. Previously, we received a framed photo, but this time I had to take pictures with my smartphone, which was a bit disappointing. However, I would love to visit again!
