    The breakfast was delicious.

I had high expectations because I’d heard great reviews about the Bay Wing breakfast, and every dish was truly delicious. Many of the staff were from overseas, and they seemed unfamiliar with the work at times—for example, saying they would check and get back to us—and I noticed some awkwardness when handling luggage. The Room had a nice view, but the shower water pressure was weak. For the same price, I preferred Fusaki.

All staff greeted us with smiles and provided excellent service, making our holiday truly enjoyable. At the Club Building pool, we often saw children diving and using inflatable rings despite these being prohibited. It didn’t feel like a pool where you can relax quietly. I think it would be better to limit use to guests aged 13 and over.

A reliable, high-end Hotel you can trust

We stayed here for a family trip during summer vacation. Due to a typhoon, we couldn’t use the outdoor facilities, but we still had plenty of fun indoors. Overall, it truly felt like a reliable, consistently excellent Hotel. Every service provided was of a high standard. It felt like there was nothing to criticize. I think our satisfaction would have been even higher if the weather had allowed us to use the outdoor facilities... Personally, dinner at the Japanese restaurant Yaeyama left a strong impression, and if we visit again, I’d like to dine there again. Both the food and the service were extremely satisfying. Thank you very much.

    Very satisfied

The Facility was clean, and the meals were delicious. The staff were also very helpful. The island breakfast set we had in the lounge was excellent. It’s a place I’d love to visit again—thank you very much.

Staying in the Club Building is not recommended for families with children.

First, the guest room felt quite small for a family stay. In particular, the extra bed was very basic, and given the Hotel’s price range, I expected something more substantial. Also, as other Reviews have pointed out, the explanation about the club lounge is extremely unhelpful. For first-time users, it was very hard to understand what is available and what services are offered at which times. We stayed for two nights, but even during room cleaning there was no replenishment of water. When I requested bottled water at night, a staff member told me that it is not provided after 10:00 p.m. If such a rule exists, it should be clearly communicated to guests—at check-in or in the room—so they can understand it in advance. If you enforce strict rules even on water service hours, then prior explanation should be thorough. As for the club lounge itself, breakfast was delicious and I was satisfied with that. On the other hand, afternoon tea did not feel particularly special, so I would not recommend setting expectations too high just because you book a Plan with club lounge access. What left me most distrustful this time was the billing. At checkout, charges were applied for our 3-year-old child who should not have been charged— including resort fees and club lounge fees—and my wife paid them as presented. I later noticed multiple similar comments in other Reviews about billing issues like this; it makes me wonder whether this is not simply a one-off mistake but intentional overcharging by the Hotel. At minimum, families traveling with small children should carefully check every line item on their bill at checkout. It felt unreasonable that guests are expected to follow detailed rules such as “no bottled water after 10:00 p.m.” and are met with snide remarks from staff when asking—while at the same time unnecessary charges are casually added to bills. The overall service level left me very dissatisfied. I stayed here expecting an Ishigaki Island Resort Hotel experience; however, more than any Facility issues themselves, I was disappointed by basic shortcomings such as poor explanations, service responses, and billing accuracy. There were some positives such as breakfast in the club lounge, but considering this price range of Hotel overall، at least personally I would not choose to return.

    Thank you for your support.

Thank you very much for your help. I had checked the Reviews in advance and had some concerns about the service, but after staying there, those worries proved unfounded. I’m a light user who stays at a Hotel only a few days a year, but I was satisfied with everything.

    Encounter Sea Turtles

A three-generation adults-only trip with my mother and son. We stayed for 4 nights in the Club Wing Private Garden. The space was beautiful, spacious, and truly relaxing. Breakfast was served at the club-exclusive venue, where you can order dishes as well as enjoy the buffet. Around 7:00 a.m. it was quiet and we could enjoy a peaceful morning, but once around 8:00 a.m., there were many families with children due to the season, it got quite noisy, and the buffet food was a bit messy—which was a little disappointing. That’s not really the Hotel’s fault, though. It would have been perfect if seating could be arranged to separate areas. The Agu pork sausages, daily-changing dressings, and cheeses were delicious. We also used afternoon tea and the night bar once each—both felt like special experiences. The night pool was also wonderful. It was easy to get to from our Room, and the Private Garden Room option was excellent. We borrowed goggles and fins at the beach. I wasn’t expecting much—maybe just a few tropical fish—but there were lots of clownfish and colorful fish. We even encountered a sea turtle and got to swim together. It became an unforgettable memory. It was my first time in Ishigaki Island, and we were blessed with great weather—it turned into an amazing trip. It’s a great Hotel, and all of the staff were friendly with warm smiles, which made us feel very comfortable. We will definitely come again. Thank you very much.

We made wonderful, happy memories at this Hotel. Even though it was the busy Obon season, we didn’t have to wait long, and the front desk staff were quick and courteous. Their explanations were clear and easy to understand, even for first-time guests like us. Since we had no guarantee of an ocean view, we weren’t expecting much—but the view from the large window was outstanding, with a beautiful ocean panorama. There was nothing blocking the view right in front of us, and our children were thrilled. We also joined a snorkeling activity we had reserved in advance, and never imagined we would get to see sea turtles—our children were overjoyed. The guide carefully watched our child’s pace and adjusted everything to suit us. The conversation was fun throughout, making it a truly special memory. The photos they took for us were also wonderful, and we keep looking back at them fondly. During our stay, we accidentally soiled the bed. When we contacted the front desk, housekeeping came right away. They responded with a smile without showing any displeasure, which really put us at ease. Just one thing: while we were in the Room, housekeeping came in and handled everything very politely; however, they left without letting us know they had finished. It bothered me that they seemed to slip out unnoticed. I felt a little disappointed because if they had told us they were done at the end, I could have thanked them directly. On the final night came the fireworks display we had been looking forward to. Because heavy rain fell just beforehand, when we asked at the front desk whether it would go ahead, we were told it would most likely be canceled. Still half expecting it not to happen as 9:00 p.m. approached—the fireworks went up. It was our family’s first time watching fireworks together like that, and it truly moved us. We watched from our Room; with nothing obstructing the view from the window, we could see them beautifully. Despite the rain just before start time, thank you to everyone who prepared for it until then—and for making the decision to hold it. Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations. Each day when we went out sightseeing or activities around town (and beyond), coming back to this Hotel was something else I looked forward to as well! Even during such a busy summer holiday period with so many guests every day (and beyond), you showed thoughtful attention down (and beyond) even small details! Thanks all of you! We truly enjoyed an unforgettable trip! We would love (and beyond) stay again!

    I used the Club Wing...

I used the Club Wing, but was the staff short-handed and mostly inexperienced? Whenever I called, it took a long time for anyone to answer. When I asked for a taxi, they only made the Reservation at the requested time, causing significant inconvenience to the taxi company. I asked them to open a pool umbrella, and was told they would inform the manager next door, but nothing happened even after more than 30 minutes. When I looked at the neighboring pool, several umbrellas were already open. I went back to the front desk to ask again and was told again that they would pass it on—then I was left waiting for another 30+ minutes. When I asked yet again what was happening, I was told that umbrellas would be opened from 12:00. It was just after 11:00, so I moved to the neighboring pool. The service at the Club Wing pool was terrible. I thought it was excellent on my first day and made a Reservation for next March, but now I am considering another Hotel.

    We had a wonderful time.

With the addition of new Facilities, the Room, surroundings, and hospitality were excellent. The food was also delicious, and I would like to stay again. However, one small concern was that there did not seem to be enough staff at checkout time, so moving our luggage from the Room and checking out did not go smoothly (in the end, we came back in the afternoon to check out). Perhaps due to an increase in international guests, it felt like there were slightly too few front desk staff. On club floors and similar categories, it would be helpful if quick billing could be handled in the Room.

    I like it.

Some Reviews mention having to wait, but even though we visited on a Sunday during summer vacation, we didn’t have to wait much at all, and the staff were kind and attentive. The kids being a bit noisy was only for a short time and didn’t bother us. The amenities are used by men as well, so the scent felt slightly more masculine. Given current trends, it may be better to bring your own skincare and cosmetics.

    Family Trip

We stayed here last year and had a great experience, so we chose to stay again this time. However, during the busy season, it felt like the staff were overwhelmed and unable to keep up. For our group and others as well, there were times when drinks ordered poolside never arrived, and the staff seemed to be having a tough time. (Last time there was a drinks refrigerator on the poolside, so it was convenient to grab water right away, but this time it wasn’t there—I wondered if there had been some issue.) Next time, we will avoid peak season and stay at a more relaxed time.

Overall, it was disappointing. First, check-in. I was told I would be contacted once the Room was ready, but even after the 15:00 check-in time passed, there was no message. Guests who arrived after me were being shown to their Rooms. Only after I asked twice did I finally receive a room key. In short, there simply aren’t enough staff. There were also not enough slippers, and even when I requested extras, they took a long time to arrive. It would have been better if they could have handed them to me at the front desk near the lounge on the spot, but instead they said they would bring them to my Room. Since I had to go out, I asked them to hang them on the doorknob—but when I returned, they had been placed inside the Room. So someone entered… For afternoon tea, about 10 minutes beforehand I was told it was available without a Reservation. I said I would quickly leave my bags in my Room and come back, but when I returned to the lounge, we were kept waiting and then told that this time slot wasn’t available after all. They suggested a paid option called “Palette” if we wanted a break. That’s not acceptable when we’re already paying a lounge fee. If the venue couldn’t be used, weren’t there other options—such as takeaway to our Room or allowing us to use Palette in place of the lounge? Because we were traveling with a child, an Ocean Wing family venue was prepared during evening cocktails. While I appreciated the consideration, the difference from the lounge itself was shocking—there was zero sense of luxury; it felt like a banquet hall buffet at a regional Hotel. The menu was also mostly the same for both days. At checkout as well—we had to stand at the counter. Isn’t check-in/out supposed to be done in the lounge? On top of that, when settling resort fees and lounge charges, we were billed for our child’s lounge fee even though our child is under 6 years old. We pointed it out on site; there wasn’t even an apology. The statement we received showed something like “3 guests → 2 guests,” and they didn’t seem willing to reissue it properly either. Everyone should check their bill carefully. A lot happened throughout our stay—and because this is how it ended too—it left us with an unpleasant feeling overall and many disappointments. Even if we stay again someday, we won’t choose Club Tower—and honestly will probably choose another Hotel instead.

Thanks to you, we had a very satisfying stay.

This was our first trip to Ishigaki with our elementary school-aged child, and we had great weather throughout our stay, so we really enjoyed everything, including the pool and the ocean park. Thank you very much. As for the Room, we were upgraded from the Room we had reserved (I will refrain from naming it specifically) to an even better one, which made for a wonderful stay. The Garden BBQ we used for dinner (for an additional fee) offered plenty of food and a great atmosphere, and our child was very happy. A couple of points I noticed regarding breakfast (included in the rate), although we went at a late time: - Refills for items that had run out were slow. - Some foreign children occupied the pancake machine area for a long time, making it difficult for our child and other children to use it. Also, as clearly stated on the Hotel website, a Facility usage fee applies to guests aged 13 and over; however, we were also charged this fee at checkout for our 9-year-old elementary school-aged child. When I mentioned that it should not apply to an elementary school student, I was told that because the Reservation was made as an adult (perhaps without careful confirmation), the fee would apply. After I reiterated that our child had been booked as an elementary school student in the Reservation, they finally removed the Facility usage fee for our child. I would appreciate more consistent handling of this in the future. That said, this Hotel is high quality overall—including the pool—and we were very satisfied with our stay. We would definitely like to stay again.

My in-room dining order was forgotten.

I stayed in the Bay Wing. It was my first time staying in Ishigaki, but I had stayed at InterContinental several times before, so I had high expectations. Since it’s a new wing, the ocean-view Room was clean, and I felt choosing this one was the right decision. After sightseeing, I checked in and ordered in-room dining. Even after waiting about an hour, it didn’t arrive. Since it seemed busy with many guests, I decided to wait a bit longer. As nearly two hours had passed, I checked—and it seemed the order had been forgotten. Because it was already past 9:00 p.m., I was told that only the night menu could be offered at that point. They apologized and said it would be complimentary, but since I had been looking forward to a proper dinner like a burger and Yaeyama soba, there was no way a salad would satisfy me... so I went out to find something to eat. I don’t know if this was due to kitchen circumstances, but since it was clearly the Hotel’s mistake, I would have appreciated a more sincere response. At checkout the next day when asked how my stay was, I also felt disappointed that yesterday’s issue didn’t seem to have been shared. However, after reading other guests’ comments, I also started to feel that service quality may gradually be declining.

Please enjoy breakfast at the club when you have enough time.

This was my third stay at the Club. When I stayed right after the Club building opened, everything impressed me, but since then the quality has declined. This time, breakfast was the issue. Salads and similar items were buffet-style, but the main dishes and Japanese set meals had to be ordered. Even after waiting more than 30 minutes, they still didn’t arrive. When they finally did, we had ordered for three people but only two servings came. Our departure time was approaching, so we canceled the remaining one—then just as we were about to leave our table, they brought it out anyway. We could barely eat it, which was a waste. At the buffet as well, there weren’t enough plates. We told staff multiple times that there were no plates available. Ice and drinks also ran out and were not replenished for a long time. I regretted not going to the buffet in the neighboring building from the start. Not everyone has plenty of time in the morning, so I think you should reconsider making guests wait so long with an order-based system. This is a harsh comment, but everything else was good.

    Summer Vacation

We stayed in the Club Wing. The buffet was served in a spacious setting and the food was delicious. Access to the beach was also convenient, and it was a very satisfying environment for our whole family, including our children. The only downside was that there was often a wait because only one staff member handled reception at the Club Wing. There was also very little guidance about on-site rules (for example, where swimwear is allowed), so we had to ask each time. In addition, the lounge required reservations, which made it difficult to use. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again.

Overall, the stay was comfortable. The food was especially delicious. The Japanese dinner is highly recommended. As for the Facility, there are far too few washing machines. I would like at least four on each floor. If I recall correctly, there were a total of seven across two floors in the entire Ocean Wing building. I gave up and drove a rental car to an outside laundromat.

    It was a pleasant Hotel.

We stayed at the Club InterContinental for 2 nights and 3 days. We arrived around 1:30 pm, but we were not able to enter our Room until 3:00 pm. If we had been told in advance what time the Room would be ready, we could have gone to the pool or a café, but instead we were shown to the lounge, given an explanation, and then made to wait for over an hour, which felt like wasted time. At the Club Lounge meals, there were small issues such as incorrect orders, receiving the same item twice, and not having chopsticks nearby. It didn’t matter for us since we don’t have small children, but Bay Wing and Club InterContinental guests were told they cannot use the Ocean Wing pool. Since only the Ocean Wing has a water slide, I thought elementary school kids would probably want to go there. The stargazing tour was wonderful—we could lie on beach chairs and look up at a sky full of stars. All of the food was delicious, and our Room was clean and comfortable throughout our stay.

I stayed in the Club Building for 6 nights.

My first trip to Ishigaki Island was a truly memorable stay. The Room was new, clean, and spacious enough. The bed was also very comfortable. I had breakfast every day at the Club building, and I was satisfied with both the presentation and the taste. The only downside was that the restaurant seemed understaffed. At SALTIDA, I had to go find a staff member twice just to place an order. My companion’s dish arrived 40 minutes after ordering; when we asked to confirm whether the order had gone through—ready to cancel and leave if it hadn’t—the dish came out a few minutes later. I understand our timing overlapped with an eight-person group who sat down before us, but we still waited quite a while until their ordering was finished, and then nearly 30 more minutes passed between my dish arriving and my companion’s dish being served. The staff positioning and table assignment did not seem well managed, so they were not able to keep an eye on us. I also felt some understaffing during breakfast at the Club building, though not enough to be frustrating. However, the menu explanations felt somewhat cursory; I think it would be better if they were explained more carefully.

    It was disappointing.

I visit Ishigaki Island often, but this was my first stay here. I was looking forward to the club lounge access. The Facility was clean, and I was able to enjoy a luxurious Ishigaki-style stay. Thank you as well for accommodating my Room Service requests individually. On the other hand, there were several disappointing points regarding the service I had expected. - Even though I requested housekeeping at a specific time, the Room had not been cleaned when I returned in the evening after going out. It also seemed that my phone request had not been handed over properly, and I had to explain everything again. - After cleaning, there was no replenishment of mineral water. Some of the empty plastic bottles I had placed together so they were clearly trash were left behind, and the hand towel at the sink was not replaced. - The fruit delivered via Room Service came without plastic wrap or any cover, which raised some hygiene concerns. - At breakfast, the machine for warming bread remained broken, so I ate cold bread. The selection is not very large, and the taste is fairly average. - Upon arrival at the Hotel, an experienced male staff member outside did not feel welcoming. When leaving my luggage, he asked whether there were any fragile items, but his wording did not feel gentle and left me uncomfortable. Also, there was no bath chair in the guest room at first. One was brought to me upon request, but it was so low that it felt like it might be for children; with my bad knees it was difficult to sit down and stand up. Because this is a Hotel used by guests of many age groups, I would appreciate more user-friendly equipment. At check-in we were given soap as a gift; however, there was no explanation of the scents and we were made to choose in a very businesslike way. Until we arrived at our Room, our escort made no small talk and felt mechanical. The lounge atmosphere also made it hard to visit without a Reservation. The afternoon tea was delicious, but service quality varied greatly depending on staff members. Overall during my stay, it felt like things didn’t quite reach where you need them—like I always had to ask questions myself or look things up, and I contacted reception many times. For an InterContinental experience (especially), it felt like such a missed opportunity. If service standards and attention to detail improve further, this could become an even more wonderful Hotel. I would like to return once improvements have been made.

While there were some positives, I felt the service and coordination fell short for the price range.

I stayed here expecting the standards of the ANA InterContinental brand. There are positives—the pool, beach, and dining were enjoyable, and it does feel like a resort. I don’t think it’s a bad Hotel. However, during this stay in the Ocean Wing, I was quite disappointed with the in-room Facility quality, service response, and internal communication within the Hotel. First, the shower water pressure was extremely weak—uncomfortable even for normal use. The hair dryer also had very low airflow and felt underwhelming for a Hotel in this price range. What concerned me even more was communication and handover between staff. There were multiple occasions where information about cleaning requests or guidance provided by the Hotel was not correctly shared with the front desk. Each time, I had to explain the same thing repeatedly, which caused anxiety and stress during my stay. The most disappointing part of this experience was that many staff members seemed to have an attitude of “as long as I handle my own task.” It felt like there was little awareness of proper follow-up after handovers, addressing guest concerns proactively, or taking responsibility as a whole Hotel. It didn’t feel like they were truly engaging with guests. Some staff members were courteous and helpful, but overall it did not feel like service quality that matches the price or brand. Compared with other Hotels in a similar price range, Hilton or Marriott felt more reliable in terms of Facilities, staff communication, and consistency of service—honestly, they left a better impression. Personally, I think staying in the Bay Wing would be more satisfying. For couples or adults-only stays—and for those who prioritize Facility standards and service quality—I recommend considering the Bay Wing rather than the Ocean Wing. If your main purpose is to spend time at the pool or beach as a family, then the Ocean Wing can still be an option. At this price point, I would like to see improvements in room Facilities quality, staff responsiveness, and accuracy of internal information sharing within the Hotel.

    Last-Minute Stay Before a Typhoon

Due to the approaching typhoon, the beach and activities were closed. The pool was available except on the day of the typhoon. I checked out one day early just before the typhoon, and they did not charge a cancellation fee. The food was delicious. I would like to visit again when the weather is clear. I’m considering choosing this place again for my next stay.

    I stayed for a 3-nig...

I stayed for a 3-night Multiple Night Stay. I was originally scheduled to stay in an ocean-view room in the Bay Wing, but the day before arrival I was upgraded to Club InterContinental. My Room was on the 2nd floor, and rather than a true ocean view, it overlooked the golf course in front with the sea visible in the distance. If you change a guest’s Room, I would like you to either keep the ocean view or clearly inform them that it will no longer be an ocean-view room. Room & Amenities It was a twin Room but spacious enough. The soft lighting (including indirect lighting) made it very comfortable. The vanity/bathroom area and the living/bed space can be separated by sliding doors for privacy while bathing, or opened up for a more airy layout when not needed. I don’t think there was face wash among the amenities, so you need to bring your own. Service There is Shuttle Service from the Bay Wing entrance to the club building. After check-in, when going out and coming back, entering through Bay Wing and using the connecting corridor is easier since it’s air-conditioned. At check-in there was a welcome drink as you’d expect from a luxury Hotel, and I appreciated the attentive hospitality. Bathroom The bath was large and comfortable, but ventilation wasn’t great—humidity lingered after bathing and there was still a slight odor noticeable even the next day. Facility & Equipment There is a pool and many guests enjoy marine activities. Since it’s hot, I think many guests on a Multiple Night Stay use coin laundry facilities; however, there is only one laundry room per two floors, and there were only four machines in the club building. At night they were constantly taken, and since washing plus drying takes about two hours, even if one became available late you might not be able to retrieve your laundry until midnight or even the next morning. Other guests using them mentioned having similar complaints. Dining I ate out for lunch and dinner, so I only used breakfast. Guests staying in Club InterContinental can use both the club lounge and restaurants in Bay Wing. Because marine activities start early, it was great that SALTIDA in Bay Wing opens from 6:00 AM. Early mornings were quiet so I could pick up food without stress and manage my time well. Some items changed slightly each day as well, and everything tasted good overall. On my last day I had breakfast at the club lounge; it was set-menu style with some items (like salad and drinks) served buffet-style. The set menu felt slow to arrive—it's best to allow plenty of time if you plan to use it.

    This is my second stay.

This was my second stay, and I truly appreciated your hospitality. This time I stayed in an ocean-view Room. Compared with the golf course view in the club building I used last time, it was more reasonably priced, and personally I preferred the ocean view. I had a wonderfully relaxing time while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The Greek salad I had for lunch before check-in was outstanding. I also appreciated that you applied the guest discount even though it was before check-in—such a thoughtful gesture. The beer provided in the Room refrigerator was also very reasonably priced. Considering today’s labor shortages and how challenging inventory management and payment processing must be, I hope you will continue offering this service. The fruit at breakfast was all fresh and juicy, and I enjoyed it very much. Compared to my previous stay, it felt like there were more international staff members, but everyone spoke Japanese very well and provided courteous, heartfelt service. Thanks to all of you, I had another very pleasant stay. I plan to stay again next month as well, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you very much.

    A Breathtaking View to Remember

It was my first time on Ishigaki Island, and staying at this Hotel was one of the things I was most looking forward to. The Room was spacious enough, and the view from the balcony was so wonderful that I can still vividly remember it. Also, during our email exchange with the Hotel staff before our stay, we mentioned it was an anniversary trip, and they kindly gave us complimentary drink tickets for the bar. Thanks to that, on our last night we were able to relax with wine at the poolside restaurant. Thank you for your thoughtful gesture. In terms of service, two experienced male doormen were very professional and left a reassuring impression. One issue was that when I took a shower first thing in the morning, the water did not get hot at all. Even with the temperature set to maximum—which would normally be scalding—it was still lukewarm and cold. Also, to be honest, the breakfast buffet did not meet our expectations. We have stayed at many Hotels on Okinawa’s main island, and perhaps those experiences set a high bar, but both of us felt disappointed with both the variety and quality. Overall, Bay Wing had a great view from the Room; the lovely pool area allowed us to unwind; and we could relax comfortably in our Room. We also appreciated how promptly and properly they responded whenever we contacted the front desk with requests. Next time, we would definitely like to stay in the Club building! We hope there will be various updates by then. Thank you for taking care of us.

The service used to be better...

I stayed here several times before COVID, so this was my first visit in over 10 years. Several new, higher-grade annex buildings have been added, but I was glad the main building—though renovated—still felt the same as before. Aging of the building is unavoidable, but it was clean and well maintained as expected. The pool and beachfront were also just like they used to be, which was enjoyable. However, the value for money is poor. Disappointing points: 1) The staff member who handled luggage on arrival only watched while we unloaded our bags. 2) I was surprised to be charged an additional Facility fee of 1,000 yen per person. Even if you don’t use the pool, it’s justified with reasons like garden maintenance, which felt questionable… The front desk explanation was also arrogant. 3) Of the two chefs making omelets at breakfast, the older chef ignored guests even when they were waiting. In contrast, the other (foreign) chef provided good service. The atmosphere is still what it used to be, but hospitality has clearly declined. I would like to see both customer service and overall service improved.

The location was convenient. There was a pool and a beach, and we enjoyed them. I understand the eco-friendly approach, but the amenities felt a bit lacking. It was nice to be able to enjoy afternoon tea and light snacks at the club lounge, but the staff service was not very good.
