    It was wonderful.

    I’d had my eye on this place ever since I saw it in a book called “A Small Gourmet Day Trip Drive for Adults.” This stay was a three-person trip as part of a thoughtful Plan from my daughter. We were able to relax in a spacious 45 m² corner Room. The welcome drink was so delicious that we even said we’d order it if it were on the drink menu. We warmed up in the Onsen first, then headed to dinner. After enjoying the complimentary drink, each dish was brought out one by one. The salmon mille-feuille I had been looking forward to most exceeded all expectations—and the chef personally brought it to our table. The chilled potage that followed was also wonderful and truly moving; as a homemaker, I definitely want to try recreating that soup style at home. It was my first time eating tilefish with the scales, and their crisp texture was unique and delicious—a real discovery. I was nervous about trying venison for the first time, but it had no strong gamey flavor and was easy to eat; my daughter also said she’d never had venison this good before. The additional drinks we ordered were non-alcoholic, but rich and complex—not like juice—and they almost made me feel tipsy. The cake included with the Plan (I think it was strawberry bavarois) was also excellent, and I felt every dish was honest and sincere. After dinner, we took our time soaking in the Onsen and enjoyed the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. The next morning I woke up naturally and went for a third soak. I was surprised that breakfast afterward was also served course-style. The Onsen egg came in an impressive presentation unlike anything I could replicate at home. Everything—the bread, jam, and dressing—was delicious, and we ate until we were completely full. I worried about gaining weight, but perhaps because we ate so many vegetables, it wasn’t as bad as expected—what a relief. When you eat something truly delicious, you feel cared for—and this stay embodied exactly that feeling. We had an amazing time, and our whole family left completely satisfied. It’s an auberge we would love to visit again.

    Just as the title says: it was simply delicious! I love both the exterior and the interior atmosphere. The fact that it’s not overly modern is soothing.

    Highly satisfied

    A one-night, two-day trip with my mother, who loves good food. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but just as the Reviews said, every dish was truly delicious, and the homegrown vegetables were crisp and wonderful. My mother was very satisfied as well. The bath was an Onsen that could be reserved for private use—spacious and relaxing. The building and furnishings also felt luxurious, allowing us to enjoy an elegant time. The chef and all the staff were friendly, so it didn’t feel like our first visit. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

    Blessed with fine we...

    Blessed with fine weather and feeling well, my spouse and I were thoroughly satisfied with the beautifully crafted French dishes, each like a work of art. The location was excellent, and we fully enjoyed watching Mt. Fuji change color moment by moment through the window. The Ikeda 20th Century Museum of Art is also nearby, making it a wonderful day.

    The meals were truly outstanding.

    This was my first stay. As expected of an auberge, not only was dinner excellent, but I was also delighted by the fresh, generous salad at breakfast. Chef Miwa came by both morning and evening, and I became a big fan of his cheerful personality. The Onsen was spacious and wonderful as well. I will definitely return.

    Upgrade?

    I had an Accommodation I wanted to visit in the Izu area, so I planned a two-night, three-day trip and made a Reservation here for the second night because the meals were highly rated. Another deciding factor was that if the Onsen was available, we could reserve it for private use at any time we liked. Our Room was the closest one to the Onsen, which I really appreciated. The system that lets you check availability while staying in your Room is also great. I was looking forward to the meals and chose an upgraded course Plan as a splurge. However, it unfortunately left me disappointed. The foie gras listed in the Accommodation Plan was not included, and there were no clearly premium ingredients such as abalone or spiny lobster at all. Since I love traveling, I usually read stay reports from past guests before my trip, and based on what I saw—especially regarding the main dish—the meal content did not seem different from the standard Plan. Compared with other guests’ courses around us, there were only minor differences such as a slightly different soup, but overall there was no significant difference. The food itself was certainly very delicious, but I couldn’t stop thinking, “Is this really the upgraded course?” throughout. It taught me that when staying somewhere for the first time, it’s best to try the standard Plan first. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    The breakfast salad is delicious!

    The homegrown vegetables (the breakfast salad) were delicious. I especially liked the freshly brewed French coffee. On the other hand, the Wi‑Fi connection in the guest room was very poor.

    Excellent cuisine

    Just as we had read in previous Reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent French cuisine. From locally caught fish and venison to a variety of homegrown vegetables, everything was very fresh and delicious. Even though we wondered if we could eat so much, it was so good that my spouse and I finished every last bite. We would love to visit again when we have the chance.

    Delicious cuisine and a private Onsen are our highlights.

    I’m a repeat guest. Every time, I look forward to checking in, relaxing in the pleasantly hot private Onsen, and enjoying carefully prepared dinners and breakfasts in the lovely dining room—beautifully presented and delicious. The bread was also excellent, and I had seconds. I appreciate that the private bath mats can be replaced and that the baths are available all night. They are available until 9:00 a.m., but since check-out is at 11:00 a.m., I would be even happier if they could be used a little longer in the morning. The staff are friendly, and this is an Accommodation where you can quietly enjoy great food and a private Onsen.

    Delicious French Cuisine, as Always

    Because the meals were so delicious, we visited again after coming last December. This time we left the course menu up to the chef, and everything was truly wonderful. The homegrown vegetables were sweet, the fish was fresh, the meat was tender, and the abalone was perfectly plump and grilled. Above all, the consommé-based soup was exceptional. The next morning’s tomato juice was freshly made, and they kindly refilled our coffee many times. We were also very satisfied with the vegetable pot-au-feu and dessert. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We also visited the Ikeda 20th Century Museum of Art next door—it was fantastic. We were lucky to receive a discount ticket from Le Temps as well.

    We visited Auberge L...

    We visited Auberge Le Temps twice around 1995, just before and after our wedding. Nearly 30 years have passed since then. Blessed with three children who have all grown up, we decided to revisit "Le Temps of our memories" as a couple, and this trip became a reality. The ambiance remains unchanged from those days; the rooms are simple yet elegant, and the private Onsen is just as relaxing as it was back then. What left the deepest impression was Chef Miwa's cuisine. While it was remarkable even back then, it has become even more refined over time. The vegetables and venison especially showcased not only their natural flavors but also an impressive evolution in preparation. Although it was just a one-night stay, we were able to reminisce about our past selves while savoring the present moment—a truly enriching journey. Next time, we hope to return with our grown-up children for another visit!

    This was my first visit, and I truly appreciated the hospitality. Both dinner and breakfast were of an exceptionally high standard, reflecting the sincere efforts and passion of the chef and staff. Each course was like a work of art, captivating with its beauty and delicate flavors. Although I live in Tokyo, this restaurant is worth visiting even for a day trip just for the meals. The onsen was also very comfortable in terms of temperature and size; however, as there is only one private bath available on a first-come-first-served basis, there was quite a wait for it to become free. A reservation system might make things smoother. That was the only concern I had. This is a precious accommodation that I would love to visit again even without using the onsen!

    The meals were excellent.

    The locally sourced ingredients and vegetables from our own garden were incredibly delicious. The presentation was beautiful and impressive. The Onsen with natural hot spring water and the view of Mount Fuji provided satisfaction beyond the price.

    I finally had the chance to visit Le Temps, a place I had admired for decades. The meals were absolutely wonderful. Although I usually gain weight during trips, thanks to the healthy vegetable-focused menu, I didn’t gain any weight—in fact, I even lost some! The fresh vegetables paired with exquisite sauces were outstanding. The herb salt was aromatic, and the smoked fish served with buckwheat galette and cream offered a new and delightful flavor experience. The artistic presentation of each dish was breathtaking and made us exclaim in awe every time. Even the bread was so delicious that I wished I could take it home. Breakfast was also exceptional—the lemongrass jelly served with fruit felt like something you could enjoy endlessly. The Room was clean and spacious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen as well. The staff were incredibly kind, making our stay absolutely perfect. We would love to visit again someday—thank you so much!

    This auberge offers French cuisine, Onsen, and a tranquil time (Le Temps) to enjoy. My recommended points are: ① Cuisine I have visited several times, and the food is simply delicious. The chef, who owns a private farm, carefully selects ingredients and uses his skills to create these flavors. The crispy-skinned tilefish poêlé and the warm vegetable soup for breakfast were particularly outstanding. ② Service When serving dishes, explanations are kept minimal without being overbearing. However, if you ask questions, they provide clear and detailed answers. They seem well-versed in cooking methods as well. ③ Onsen There is a private Onsen that can accommodate several people for a relaxing experience. A lamp in your room indicates availability; just check it before heading out to avoid any issues. If fully booked, visiting during less busy hours is recommended. ④ Facility Although the building is over 30 years old, it remains clean and well-maintained without any noticeable issues. ⑤ Accessibility As someone who no longer drives, I initially thought access from Tokyo might be inconvenient; however, taking the Limited Express Odoriko directly to Ito Station followed by about a 40-minute bus ride turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. ⑥ Others Next door is the Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art featuring works by Dali and Picasso among others—highly recommended!

    We visited as two mother-daughter pairs. For the mothers, it was a revisit after quite some time. Since it was a weekday, the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. The meals were as wonderful as others have mentioned, featuring fresh vegetables from the on-site farm that were both abundant and healthy. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented, reflecting the chef's dedication to their craft, which left us deeply impressed. It’s rare to find an accommodation offering such exquisite cuisine at this price point. The onsen had just the right size for four of us to enjoy chatting while soaking in comfort. Additionally, we opted for lymphatic massages, which left our bodies feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It truly became a blissful stay for us. Thank you very much!

    I stayed during the New Year holidays. Since the facility has been in operation for quite some time, the facilities (such as plumbing and construction) showed signs of age, but the room was spacious enough, and the bath (Onsen!) was clean and pleasant. I had high expectations for the meals, and they did not disappoint; I was very satisfied. The dishes made use of local ingredients and homemade herbs, while also incorporating new ingredients, making me want to come back for more. The clientele was calm, and I got the impression that there are many regulars. With this level of satisfaction at this price point, I think it is more than reasonably priced.

    The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious and satisfying, but the customer service was somewhat disappointing. On my first solo trip, I opened the door with feelings of excitement and nervousness, only to find the front desk unattended. There was a woman attending to someone who had arrived earlier, but she only glanced at me and continued her conversation without acknowledging me. It might have been just a minute or two, but the time I stood there felt very long. After a while, I was finally invited in with a "Please come this way," but I was not greeted with a welcome, which left me a bit puzzled as I sat at the table I was shown to. I brushed it off, thinking the staff might not be familiar with the basics of customer service. However, during dinner, the explanation of the dishes was purely procedural, and I did not feel any sense of hospitality. I went on this solo trip to relax, hoping to enjoy a bit of conversation with the staff during meals, but at this hotel, everyone seemed very busy, and my attempts at conversation were met with simple responses like "Yes, that's right." I even said, "The food is delicious," but... Since an auberge is primarily a restaurant, I understood that there is no need for hospitality, and the focus is on serving the dishes at the best timing. The food was very delicious, the Onsen was pleasant, and the Room was spacious enough, allowing me to relax, but I am considering not repeating my stay.
