    Revisiting from Kyoto to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday.

    I stayed here four years ago to celebrate my 60th birthday. This time, I stayed again to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. I made a Reservation for the same Room as last time. The staff were just as courteous as always, and we really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. We will visit again. Thank you very much. We had a relaxing stay while watching the Milan–Cortina Olympics.

    A truly comfortable Hotel

    When it comes to Moji, this Hotel is the best. The meals are delicious, the Room is relaxing, and I had a very comfortable stay. The staff welcomed me warmly, which made me happy. I would love to stay here again when I visit Moji.

    The location is excellent, but the Facility is not good.

    Stayed for 2 nights. The location is excellent for exploring the Mojiko area. The station is nearby, and there are dining options in the vicinity. However, the Hotel's Facility leaves much to be desired. The interior design, inspired by the sea, is lovely, but... There was mold in the bathroom—black mold and pink stains. The walls are thin; I could hear sneezing from the neighboring room—seriously? Additionally, footsteps from upstairs were loud enough to disturb my sleep. Perhaps small children were jumping around excitedly. In conclusion, this place may suit those who do not prioritize comfort or livability during their stay.

    Enjoy an Early Christmas Night

    Every year during the Christmas season, I always choose this accommodation to enjoy dinner. This time, I upgraded my room a bit and used the lounge for the first time in a while. When I stayed with a lounge access plan before, it felt more like a trial run with only tea and soft drinks available, which was disappointing. However, this time there was an excellent selection of sparkling wines, snacks, vegetable sticks, and other well-balanced food options along with a wide variety of drinks. It was such a comfortable space that I could stay for hours. For dinner, instead of choosing the Christmas plan, I opted for the usual basic Italian course. The presentation had festive colors reminiscent of Christmas and was very filling and delicious. Although the seasonal soup looked tempting as well, based on another review recommendation, I requested an upgrade to bouillabaisse-style soup—it turned out to be incredibly satisfying and flavorful. The staff's explanations about each dish were very clear; even though there were ingredients or cooking methods that were new to me, their detailed descriptions helped me fully enjoy everything served. Breakfast also featured delicious items that were easy to select without any long lines. I look forward to visiting again soon!

    A classic and charming Hotel

    The exterior of the building feels a bit dated, but the rooms have been renovated and were very comfortable. The cleanliness was also impressive. What I particularly enjoyed was the lounge service. The selection of appetizers, including prosciutto and cheese, was excellent and paired perfectly with wine. This trip was for my mother's birthday, and she seemed to really enjoy the bagna cauda, which made me happy as well. Thank you for your hospitality. I would love to stay at this hotel again. Although I forgot to take photos of the room, please refer to the photo of the exterior instead!

    Enjoy stunning views of the Kanmon Strait.

    A Hotel located about a 5-minute walk from Mojiko Station. The Kanmon Strait is right in front, offering a stunning view of Shimonoseki, including Dan-no-Ura, across the sea. The Hotel has some points to note: the elevator lacks security, allowing direct access to any floor with rooms. Additionally, the walls are quite thin, making it possible to hear footsteps from the floor above and conversations from neighboring Rooms (which likely means your voice can also be heard). On the day of my stay, strong sea winds at night caused noise through gaps in the openable windows—this might bother some guests. On the other hand, the bathroom was excellent with strong water pressure and cleanliness. The water facilities were truly outstanding, and the staff were exceptionally wonderful.

    Kyushu Journey: Moji Edition

    It was a great decision to stay at the Hotel for the latter part of our Kyushu trip. Especially, this Hotel in Mojiko perfectly matched the classic and nostalgic atmosphere.

    Stylish ambiance and attentive service made for a highly satisfying stay.

    I was very satisfied with the stylish design and excellent location, but what left the biggest impression on me was the service provided by the front desk staff. When I asked for recommendations on baked curry and architectural tours, they kindly and thoroughly guided me, which deeply moved me. The places they suggested were truly wonderful, making my stay incredibly enjoyable. I am grateful for their heartfelt hospitality. I would definitely choose to stay here again when visiting Mojiko.

    It was a 5-star Hotel.

    The view of the Kanmon Strait from the Room was amazing. The Room was clean, and unlike many Hotels nowadays that lack amenities or have self-service, everything was well-prepared, which made me happy. The staff's hospitality was impressive. Breakfast had a wide variety and was very delicious. It was my first time in Mojiko, and I made wonderful travel memories.

    Enjoyed Mojiko to the fullest.

    Stayed at the accommodation while driving from Tsunoshima to Kokura. Took a ferry near the hotel for a morning walk to Karatsu Port. After dinner, enjoyed a stroll from the front of the hotel to the bridge. The view from the room was fantastic. The Italian course meal was delicious, and breakfast had a wide variety with timely replenishments and thoughtful staff recommendations. There was a step in the guest room, which could be dangerous at night if not careful. Although there was a refrigerator, it didn’t cool properly at first. After calling reception, they explained it wasn’t very effective by design. Upon further inspection, I found that its cooling function switch hadn’t been turned on despite its light being on initially. Due to the step and refrigerator issue, I deducted one star from my rating.

    Visited to enjoy the view of the Kanmon Strait. The view from the Room was endlessly stunning. However, it was disappointing to see inexperienced staff here and there, which lowered the Hotel's dignity.

    A charming town with a nostalgic atmosphere. The serene and modest scenery, along with the pleasant flow of people, creates a delightful ambiance.     A charming retro Hotel

    Stayed in a room with one-night accommodation, two meals (Italian cuisine), and lounge access. The room was spacious, the bed was wide enough for a comfortable rest, and I enjoyed the provided coffee and tea. The Italian cuisine had good content; however, the dim lighting made it difficult to fully appreciate the dishes, which seemed to lessen their appeal. I wondered how this might affect older guests. Breakfast offered a well-stocked salad area and delicious croissants that I loved. The recommended pufferfish miso soup, egg rice bowl with Ranou eggs, and baked curry were all delightful. The lounge was available from 3 PM to 9 PM and was quite busy but still satisfying with its variety of drinks and snacks. Personally, I enjoyed the vegetable sticks with sauce, mandarin orange juice, and dried tomatoes. Although it rained on the following day, I could watch the drawbridge from my window as well as enjoy an endless view of the sea without getting bored. If I visit Mojiko again in the future, I'd love to stay here once more!

    Stayed here for the second time.

    A very lovely Hotel with affordable prices. The breakfast is delicious, and the renovations have made it even more comfortable than my previous visit. The mattress felt a bit soft (perhaps it's old?), which made me slightly worried about back pain, but it turned out fine. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

    The room was clean with a great view, and I chose a Plan that included access to the club lounge. The lounge was very beautiful, and I was very satisfied as I could enjoy sparkling wine from 3 PM.

    It is undeniably old...

    The Shark Eye Deluxe Twin Room features high ceilings in the living area and offers stunning views from the windows. It’s a room that stands out, making it a memorable part of our trip as we couldn’t resist taking photos of it from outside. The front desk staff were polite and attentive. However, the age of the property is noticeable. At the club lounge counter, we enjoyed some wine, but unfortunately, the counter was full of scratches and the corners of the chairs were torn, which was disappointing. The bathroom in our room appeared clean at first glance; however, there was an unpleasant ammonia-like smell—possibly due to ventilation or shower curtain odor? The amenities provided felt subpar for a special floor: basic toothbrushes and hairbrushes. Additionally, using the Dyson hairdryer was concerning as its plug became unusually hot during use and sometimes didn’t work depending on how its cord was positioned—it might be worth inspecting this issue. Lastly, during breakfast at the buffet when I stepped away to get seconds, my plate being cleared away was appreciated but they almost took my cutlery too! I believe other reviews have mentioned this as well. Wishing all young staff members good luck moving forward!

    It was great.

    It was a lovely room with a view of the Kanmon Strait from the window. The area is quiet at night, safe, and perfect for a pleasant walk. The breakfast was very delicious. Both the domestic and international staff were efficient and provided excellent service. I would love to stay here again.

    Beautiful View, but Cleanliness

    The hotel's seaside location offered a stunning view, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, some areas could use improvement. Upon first using the elevator after check-in, I noticed fingerprints and smudges on the mirror, which left a less-than-ideal first impression. In the room, after a short nap, I found a spider on the ceiling. Later, upon returning from an outing, I discovered another spider. After contacting the front desk, they promptly arranged for a room change. While their swift and courteous response was appreciated, encountering two spiders made me feel uneasy for the rest of my stay. Additionally, there was a faint unpleasant odor from the shower curtain that suggested more thorough cleaning might be needed. The connected parking lot was convenient; however, it was disappointing that guests were charged an additional fee for its use. Overall, while the view was wonderful and staff were attentive in addressing concerns quickly, more attention to cleanliness and maintenance would have made this stay much more enjoyable.

    Better than expected.

    Located very close to Mojiko Station and near tourist attractions, making it perfect for sightseeing in Moji. It was my first time visiting Moji, and it is a wonderful town similar to Otaru. Unfortunately, my stay was short this time, but I would love to visit again on my next trip. I will definitely stay at the same Hotel then.

    The Shark Eye Room on the strait side was very comfortable. Since I am coming from Tokushima, it’s not easy to visit often, but if I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay again!

    Club Lounge

    I have stayed here more than 10 times since its opening. I loved the sparkling wine served during breakfast, so this time I stayed on the Premier Floor with Club Lounge access. I was delighted with the unlimited sparkling wine (two different types) offered, which was different from what is served at breakfast! The vegetable sticks with two kinds of dips were also delicious. I will definitely stay here again.

    Since I am a local of Mojiko, I rarely have the opportunity to stay at accommodations, but I took advantage of this great plan. It’s a nice hotel. I was able to relax and refresh more than staying at my parents' house.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The sea-view room offers a stunning night view that soothes the soul. The restaurant features high ceilings, creating a spacious atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing meal. In the morning, you can take a pleasant stroll around the hotel area. If I have another chance to visit Mojiko, I would definitely stay at this accommodation again.

    Wonderful Hotel

    Conveniently located near the station and ferry terminal. The staff were very polite and accommodating, making my stay pleasant. The breakfast was also very delicious. I had a great time staying at this lovely Hotel, perfectly suited to the retro charm of Mojiko.

    Perfect base for exploring "Mojiko Retro"

    It was our first visit to Mojiko. We stayed as a family of three and had an extra bed added, which made the room feel slightly cramped as it was placed between the twin beds, but this was understandable. However, spending time in the lounge while enjoying delicious drinks and watching the sunset over Mojiko was truly priceless. The vegetable sticks were incredibly tasty, so it would be great if they could be replenished more frequently. I highly recommend choosing a Plan with lounge access! We had dinner outside and returned late at night, so we ended up having breakfast just before the last order time. I had been looking forward to desserts being freshly prepared on-site as I heard about it beforehand, but since it only involved selecting toppings to add on pre-made items, my expectations were slightly let down. That said, there were other dishes like baked curry that I wanted to try, and everything tasted great! As part of the IKYU Diamond benefits, we received L'Occitane amenities for each person in our group—this made us very happy! The front desk staff all greeted us with warm smiles and left a positive impression. Thank you very much!

    Both the Italian dinner and the breakfast buffet are delicious.

    The Italian dinner was absolutely delicious, with excellent ingredients, superb cooking techniques, and perfect timing in serving. The optional cheese was also delightful. However, the sparkling wine had lost its fizz and ended up being consumed as white wine. It would be better to check the sparkling condition before serving. The breakfast buffet was a highlight as always and very enjoyable. The clam tsukudani was particularly tasty—I hope it becomes available for purchase. I will definitely return again!
