Wedding Anniversary

Stayed at a place once used by Emperor Showa! We visited for an anniversary trip. A private bus just for us picked us up from Nasu-Shiobara Station. Upon arrival, we immediately went to the Onsen. No one else was there! We soaked for about an hour and a half, and still, no one came! It was so relaxing to enjoy the snow view. Absolutely amazing. Dinner was delicious, with just the right portions. The staff lady was kind and attentive, which we greatly appreciated. In the morning, we enjoyed another two hours in the open-air bath starting at 6 AM—again completely private with no one around! The spacious bath and serene atmosphere were perfect; only the sound of water could be heard. Truly healing. We were also dropped off at the station on our way back. Unfortunately, our Shinkansen stopped near Omiya Station due to a coupling issue with no clear recovery time in sight! We ended up taking local trains home but felt quite exhausted afterward. If not for this incident, it would have been a perfect trip!
