First and foremost, we highly recommend guests to experience the charm of the "Classic Floor: General Floor" rather than just staying on the Espacio Floor. This is where you can truly feel the essence of "The Emperor's Accommodation, Meikan." We encourage you to try staying on floors other than the Espacio Floor! "The Guesthouse of Central Japan and The Emperor's Accommodation, Meikan" has recently introduced a unique structure that sets it apart. The check-in counter for guests has been removed from the first floor. Instead, all guests (except those staying on the Espacio Floor) are directed to a check-in desk located on the 6th floor, which also features a complimentary drink station and Nagoya-style snacks—a space that functions as a casual lounge. This lounge offers an extensive selection of soft drinks from machines similar to those found in family restaurants, along with high-quality coffee machines and various tea options including herbal teas. Guests can also enjoy four types of snacks such as sweet red bean cookies, Guppy Ramune candies, and Kaki-no-Tane crackers—all available 24/7 for self-service (similar to lounges in Kyoto’s accommodation-focused hotels). Despite its simplicity as a lounge/library hybrid space, its design rivals that of club lounges in other hotels. Moreover, this space avoids unnecessary food items—perfect for those who simply want something light when thirsty! It’s an ideal spot for relaxation. One must-see feature at this hotel is its first-floor lobby. While it may appear understated at first glance, it boasts luxurious materials used extensively across walls and floors—materials so rare today they would be nearly impossible to replicate now. You can almost envision how local business leaders enthusiastically created this masterpiece during Japan’s economic boom era with aspirations of building "Nagoya's Guesthouse." Additionally noteworthy are their Chinese restaurant, basement oden eatery, pastry shop cakes, and bread—all exceptionally delicious! Truly deserving recognition as "Meikan: A Culinary Delight," I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here while appreciating these offerings.
