Hotelier Quality Unique to a Long-Established Hotel

My father, who was involved in the travel industry for many years, once said during his lifetime that "Nagoya Kanko Hotel is a great hotel." Remembering this, I chose this accommodation as the stay destination for my trip to Nagoya with my mother. The impression was truly "the pride of a long-established hotel," unlike the recent trend of hotels that are just high-end in appearance. The hoteliers were genuinely wonderful, especially the door/bell staff at the main entrance. Their attentiveness to surroundings, proactive service anticipating guests' needs, and radiant smiles significantly enhanced our experience. It felt like seeing what a true hotel should be after a long time. The room reflected its status as an established accommodation; while the bathroom was slightly compact (and I found IKYU.com's categorization somewhat unclear—only realizing just before our stay that there are Deluxe Twin rooms on both Classic Floors and non-Classic Floors... Classic Floor rooms seem more spacious), it was impeccably clean with tasteful furnishings that made for a satisfying stay. If I had to point out one downside, it would be breakfast. While the cutlery by Noritake added a local Nagoya touch, they were somewhat difficult to handle—enough to make me wonder if their designers ever tried eating with them—which caused minor stress. Additionally, drinks and fruits felt slightly lacking but seemed reasonable considering the price. Overall though, it was a pleasant stay. There is also an exclusive lounge for guests on the same floor as reception where we frequently went for drinks; every staff member we passed greeted us warmly with smiles—a very nice touch. While facilities are undoubtedly important in hotels, ultimately it's about people—that's what left an impression on me during this visit. Thank you to all hoteliers!
