It’s been a long time since I felt this kind of excitement. I was truly fulfilled by the meticulous, sophisticated design—much like how I felt when staying at Le Royal Monceau in Paris. The service struck the perfect balance, and the high-quality, distinctive room atmosphere and design made it genuinely relaxing.\nBeyond the guest room, the large rooftop jacuzzi we used at night was wonderful, and the garden beside the first-floor restaurant—with its towering palm tree—was also superb. It’s impressive to see it maintained to this level.\nEven after about 20 years, this standard is remarkable. This is exactly what people mean by a Hotel you’ll want to return to. My sincere thanks to all the staff who must work hard every day to keep everything so well maintained.

The guest room, hospitality and service, Onsen, Facility, and meals—everything far exceeded my expectations, and I was amazed at how satisfied I was. The atmosphere of the bath and the water were especially wonderful; I wanted to stay in forever. The food was also outstanding, and my wife was delighted. We also enjoyed playing table tennis, and thanks to the light exercise and the Onsen, we slept soundly at night—better than at home. We will definitely return together. During our 2-night, 3-day stay, we were able to truly relax both body and mind. Since we live in Saitama and this is Kagoshima, we can’t visit often, but we would definitely love to return. From the warm welcome to the delicious dinner… the treats of shochu and fireworks… I’m still thinking about how best to describe how wonderful it all was. The food was never flashy; instead, it was carefully prepared using freshly harvested vegetables and local fish and meat, and it felt as if I was becoming healthier from the inside out. Simply delicious! You can also feel the attention given to the tableware and presentation. The hot spring water… without a doubt, it was outstanding. We also felt completely at ease in our Room. Above all, we could sense kindness and care in every detail. The message written on a beautiful leaf, and the rice balls and rolled omelet you gave us to take when going out or returning—both were heartwarming and delicious. Thank you very much. Your warm hospitality—while maintaining just the right distance for each guest—was excellent in every way. This Accommodation reminded us of a gentle kindness that daily busyness had made us forget. Lastly… we hope that adorable pair of chickens stays healthy for a long time. Thank you for such wonderful memories. We would love to visit again for sure.

I had a very comfortable stay. The service, food, and location were all very satisfying. One concern: I felt the height of the privacy screens at the large public bath might still allow it to be seen from the beach in front, which bothered me.

The Room was spacious and lovely, and the meals were wonderful with thoughtful touches. The staff were friendly, and it made for an excellent stay. We had been looking forward to the open-air bath, but at night many small moths flew in and I couldn’t use it. I understand it can’t be helped in a forest setting, but it was disappointing. It’s not a place we can visit often, but it’s a Hotel we definitely want to return to. Thank you very much.

Not only were the meals and the wonderful Onsen outstanding, but I was also deeply comforted by the staff’s hospitality. Their warm smiles and sincere service reminded me that people can be healed by people. I would love to visit again in winter. I fell ill and had to ask my brother’s family to go in my place. My nephew loves rice, and I have never seen him eat bread. However, dinner was bread-based, so they assumed he wouldn’t eat much. Instead, they said everything—the dishes and the bread—was delicious, and the three of them finished a meal meant for four. They also told me breakfast was truly wonderful. My brother and his wife, who are constantly worried about their son, said they had a very comfortable Hotel stay thanks to the excellent care from all the staff. Thank you very much for your kindness. Thank you as well for the get-well gift for me. June is both my birthday month and your Hotel’s celebration month, so I was disappointed that I couldn’t visit myself. I hope to visit again soon.

We were thoroughly satisfied with the many delicious, beautifully presented dishes that captured the transition from summer to autumn. We enjoyed them in a private dining Room with a waterfall right in front of us. We stayed in a detached suite called Suirei, where a small stream runs through the Room. From the spacious open-air bath, there is another smaller open-air bath just down a few steps; each has a different temperature, so you can soak for as long as you like. The garden was also expansive, and we were able to fully enjoy summer and feel refreshed. Thank you very much for celebrating our 60th birthday with us. I hope to visit again even when I’m a grandmother.

We stayed as a family of eight. The Japanese-Western style room had three beds, and futons were provided in the tatami room. It was spacious enough for us to relax comfortably. The welcome drink and amenities such as shampoo were great. We booked a Plan that included vouchers worth 2,000 yen per person for a nearby Chinese restaurant, and we were able to eat until we were completely full. Thank you to all the staff for welcoming us with smiles.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the Room was very clean, but the amenities felt too limited. The onigiri provided for lunch at breakfast was delicious, but it was a bit disappointing that the fried items at the morning buffet were cold.

It was wonderful. The castle town, the Hotel doors with stained glass, and the European-style furnishings created a lovely contrast between Japanese and Western elements. The canal view from the window was beautiful and truly moving! All the staff were kind, so I felt at ease throughout my stay. Dinner was delicious! The butter-grilled turban shell? Pouring the last of the sauce over bread was amazing! The fugu sashimi and the meat were also excellent. The cypress bath in the Room was spacious and relaxing. Everything was great, but one thing I noticed was that the mat in the Room felt a bit small. Also, it was disappointing that I bumped into a sofa corner that was too sharp and it hurt. What I loved is that you can rent bicycles! I enjoyed exploring Hagi by visiting Shoka Sonjuku Academy and Meirin Gakusha. I would definitely like to stay again!

The food was excellent. Each dish had a unique local touch, and even though we ate until we were full, it didn’t feel heavy. We really appreciated the thoughtful hospitality. It was easy to ask for advice on how to spend our time, and this is an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again in a different season.\nThe stairs are steep, so you need to be careful, but I’d still like to bring my mother.

We stayed in a pet-friendly Room. We have used many Hotels before and expected some odor since dogs stay there, but at this Hotel my wife and daughter, who are sensitive to smells, were happy to say they didn’t notice any at all. Also, when we mentioned that our dog cannot stay alone in the Room, we truly appreciated your thoughtful consideration. Thanks to your kindness, it was a refreshing trip for us.

Because it is located a little away from Yubatake, we were able to spend a very quiet and relaxing time. The interior has a refined, design-forward atmosphere, yet since the building was originally a cottage and has been renovated, it also feels wonderfully cozy with the warmth and scent of wood. The guest-room bath with free-flowing Onsen water direct from the source was a bit hot at first, but once we got used to it, it felt amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy Kusatsu’s Onsen. After bathing, we felt warmed through to the core and our skin felt pleasantly moisturized. Even the amenities such as lotion were high quality, and we could sense attention to detail throughout. Both dinner and breakfast were truly outstanding, and each dish reflected great care in ingredient selection. The vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, and Joshu beef grilled over a wood fire had an especially fragrant savoriness that left a strong impression. The octopus rice at dinner and the white rice cooked in an earthenware pot at breakfast were also exceptional—perfect with grated yam and bonito flakes. It was a meal where you could really appreciate how delicious the rice itself is. We are not very knowledgeable about wine or sake, but there was an impressive selection, and the well-informed master recommended options tailored to our preferences—making this Accommodation particularly appealing for those who love drinks. Some past Reviews included harsh comments, but after staying ourselves, we could clearly see sincere efforts to improve; it felt like this Accommodation continues to evolve into something even better. Even understatedly put, it was an exceptional stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Facility offerings, Onsen baths, cuisine, and hospitality. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we would absolutely want to stay again when visiting Kusatsu.

Upon arrival, your son—nearly three years old now—welcomed us with a cheerful “Welcome.” His slightly shy expression was so adorable that it instantly brought a smile to our faces. Having known him since he was a baby, seeing him again each year is one of the reasons we keep coming back. This time we stayed in the Room “Hagoromo.” From the spacious veranda, we could lie back at night and gaze up at a sky full of stars. Spending time there in the pleasant evening breeze, pleasantly tipsy after dinner and drinks, felt like pure luxury. The cuisine was a summer herbal course. The mousse-like sauce made with herbal broth had a distinctive depth of flavor—I couldn’t resist asking for a spoon and enjoyed every last drop. The tomato simmered in herbal broth and served chilled also had more of a Western touch than before, making it an elegant and refreshing dish. The happy-hour herbal-syrup frappe was perfect for cooling down after our walk; it felt truly reviving. The morning coffee also tasted exceptional, so I asked about it and learned they use rare peaberry beans. Because only one bean develops instead of the usual two, the flavor is said to be more concentrated—and I was told the owner carefully roasts them from green beans himself. I was deeply impressed to see the same sincere dedication found in their herbal cuisine reflected in their coffee as well. Once again during our meal, the proprietress spoke with us warmly by our side. I started writing Reviews after last year’s visit, and looking back, I realized that Accommodations I rated highly always shared one thing: heartfelt hospitality with true attention to detail. This Accommodation embodies that better than anywhere else—and I feel that even more strongly now.

This was the final Accommodation of my first trip to Niigata, a 3-night, 4-day journey. Our Room was the 2nd-floor Western-style twin [Marronnier]. The bathroom, with a separate toilet, was very convenient and made our mother-and-daughter trip extremely comfortable. The closet was spacious, and there were plenty of hangers. Just before check-in there are shoe lockers, and you can walk around the building barefoot or in socks. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the Room and along the corridors, you can enjoy views of wine grapes vineyards and the mountain range stretching from Mt. Yahiko. I visited looking forward to Vinespa’s aroma hot stone sauna, but I was told it is no longer available after renovations—such a shame. Still, the open-air baths placed throughout the garden offered wonderful scenery, and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking both after dinner and before breakfast. Restaurant Cave d’Occi is beyond a European-style garden that is carefully maintained by gardeners. The April menu—beautifully presented and truly delicious—featured local ingredients (hairy crab, celeriac root celery), spear squid), wild boar meat), flounder), roast beef smoked with branches from wine grapes vines), etc.) without feeling overdone). At the winery shop, I had my favorite Zweigeltrebe and unoaked Chardonnay shipped home). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast surprised me—in a great way: zaru tofu with olive oil was delicious!! At checkout time) pizza toast) grape juice) at the library café tasted so good it made leaving hard). It’s an Accommodation that made me genuinely envy those who live nearby).

This was my third visit this year. I enjoyed the Japanese cuisine on my previous stay, so I chose the kaiseki course again this time. When a seasoned male staff member served our meal, he said, “You visited in May last time, didn’t you?” I was truly touched that he took the time to check (and I’m sorry—I mistakenly said I came in June). The attentive service, breathtaking views, excellent hot spring water quality, spotless changing area, and beautiful interior—this Hotel is the best for me. I hope it will always remain a calm and relaxing place.

This was our first visit. I saw my mother, who usually never asks for seconds, get another serving of rice for the first time. The food was truly delicious. Not only the cuisine, but also the heartfelt service made us very happy, and we were able to spend a wonderful time. My mother immediately started planning our next trip, saying, “Next time I want to bring the whole family.” We visit Ise Grand Shrine every year, so we would love to stay with you again next year. I stayed here at the end of my trip to Hokkaido. The places I stayed before were wonderful as well, but this Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel was outstanding. Every dish at the buffet was delicious. I wanted to try more, but I got full and couldn’t eat everything, which I still regret a little. The kamameshi rice was especially good, and the meat was excellent too—in fact, everything I tried tasted great. When I went to the Onsen early in the morning (just after 5 a.m.), I saw staff baking bread. I had some at breakfast, and it was also very tasty. The moor Onsen had a gentle natural scent and a wonderfully silky feel on the skin; one night wasn’t enough. This time I couldn’t take my time sightseeing around Tokachi, so I would love to come back again next year. More than anything, what left me with such a great impression of the Hotel was an employee at the souvenir shop “Tamatebako.” The trainee wearing a training name badge had an amazing smile and provided excellent service. When I told them how pleasant they were, they responded with another lovely smile. Of course it comes down to personal qualities as well, but it also made me feel that the Hotel’s management philosophy must be excellent for staff like this to grow here. All of the other staff were wonderful too, and it reminded me that not only the Onsen and food but also people’s hospitality is what truly shapes a trip. Thank you for helping me make such great memories—I would like to stay again next year as well.

We stayed for two nights in late August on a family trip. On the first night, I became unwell (likely heat exhaustion due to Kyoto’s climate and lack of sleep), and you kindly adjusted how dinner was served. You also prepared an ice pack and cold water, and all the staff offered warm words afterward as well—I truly caused you a lot of trouble. The next day we returned to the Accommodation early after sightseeing, but housekeeping was completed quickly and the Room was restored to a comfortable state. Our child had brought a favorite stuffed toy, and seeing it seated on the sofa warmed our hearts. I was also impressed that all staff had shared information such as my avoiding caffeine and our child’s preferences, and handled everything so naturally with thoughtful care. The timing of your check-ins and sense of distance were just right, and we experienced truly wonderful hospitality. We used the Room as a family of three (our child is in 6th grade), and it felt neither too large nor too small. Having a bath in the Room was especially nice because we could use it whenever we wanted. The water temperature was set to 41°C, which feels hot in summer, but we could adjust it by adding water. The changing area had floor heating, which helped prevent us from getting too chilled after bathing. Towels and water were replenished as well, so even if we sweated after bathing, it was great to be able to use clean towels and clothes. Also, there was a lovely fragrance the moment we entered the Room, with incense throughout the building—these scent touches made everything feel special and out of the ordinary. Every meal was truly delicious. Our child has many dislikes when it comes to seafood, but you accommodated this thoughtfully; plus, both days’ menus were different so we could enjoy variety. In particular, the charcoal-grilled style dishes along with Anto-jiru soup, takikomi gohan (seasoned rice), and Wakan 18 tea were excellent—our child loved them too. Breakfast also came with many rice accompaniments that were all delicious. The soups and dashi-based dishes especially felt very “Kyoto,” which we appreciated. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took care of us during our stay. We made wonderful memories in Kyoto thanks to you. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again as a family.
