Everything in the hotel was spotless, the meals were delicious, the hot spring water was exceptional, and the view from our room was stunning. Above all, we were truly moved by the warm hospitality of the staff. Not only did we complete the Jomon Sugi trek, but thanks to our stay here, our trip to Yakushima became an unforgettable memory. Thank you very much. When we visit Yakushima again, samana will be our only choice.

We stayed for one night and two days with my elderly parents, who have concerns about cognitive function and eating, as three generations. Thank you for preparing a space where all of us could dine together; we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace, which we truly appreciated. My father, who usually has trouble eating due to dental issues, finished both dinner and breakfast completely, and our whole family was thrilled. We apologize for cutting the food into small pieces during the meal and for any lack of proper table manners; thank you for your understanding. Since the futon area is slightly raised, we were worried about nighttime trips to the restroom, but it was fine. Even after returning home, we can’t stop talking about how wonderful the meals were—the room, the bath, and the staff were all excellent. Thank you very much.

Iya Bijin is an Accommodation famous for soba. I had carelessly forgotten this, and since my son has a severe buckwheat allergy, we made a last-minute request to remove all foods related to soba. During our stay, they took great care with the meals, and both dinner and breakfast were wonderful—such as ayu sashimi and dekomawashi—and my son ate so much it surprised even us. Of course, he had no allergic symptoms at all. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful ryokan. I was very particular about choosing a place to stay, and it took me about 15 hours in total searching across Ikkyu, Agoda, Rakuten Travel, and TikTok. I wanted a ryokan rather than a hotel; kaiseki rather than a buffet; private dining or in-room meals rather than a dining hall; a Japanese-style breakfast; an open-air bath with natural scenery; reservable private baths or hot-spring water in the room; a quiet property without noisy group tours; within walking distance of Yubatake; a spacious room for three people; on-site payment rather than credit-card prepayment, and more. In the end, I was able to stay in an ideal location and it was fantastic. I was especially satisfied with the open-air baths in the morning and at night, and the delicious meals served in a private dining room. Our arrival ended up being later than planned due to our circumstances, but they kindly accommodated us, for which we are very grateful. Since it’s such a major tourist destination, I assumed it would be all hotels, but I’m so glad there is an authentic restaurant-style ryokan like this—thanks to it we had an amazing time and were truly happy.

We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the in-room Onsen; it was very soothing. The meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The only disappointment was that there was no light near the bed and no bedside table to place glasses or a smartphone. The road to the Accommodation was narrower than expected, which was a bit scary.

After seeing photos, I had long wanted to visit this Accommodation at least once, and this was my first stay. The real view was even more magnificent than the photos; while enjoying matcha in the lobby, the full glass wall opened up, removing any obstruction from sight, and I was deeply moved by the sensation of being completely filled with the lush green valley right before my eyes. Although the weather that day was unfortunately poor—perhaps due to a typhoon—the drifting rain mist added atmosphere like a sea of clouds, creating a truly ethereal world. Perhaps thanks to traditions passed down over many years, the hospitality was exceptionally polished; from being escorted to and briefed on our Room at check-in to every aspect of dining service, it was flawless with nothing to criticize. While traditional in spirit, the Facility is kept impeccably clean in a modern style (every faucet in both the Room and bath areas gleamed so much that it felt beyond mere cleanliness—I could almost sense the staff’s dedication), and we enjoyed every dish while also appreciating the presentation of their signature specialties. This is purely my personal impression, but it reminded me of a well-known culinary Ryokan in Yugawara (back before it was acquired by Hokkaido-based capital), and it has been a long time since I felt so strongly that I had found an outstanding “traditional Japanese Ryokan” with all three elements—service, cuisine, and location (including Facilities and Onsen)—perfectly aligned. It soothed both body and mind. Wanting to see snowy scenery through those windows, I went ahead and made a Reservation for December as well. With global warming reducing snowfall these days, there may not be much snow yet in December… (laugh). The only reason my rating for “Onsen / Baths” is 4 out of 5 is simply my small wish that the open-air bath were a bit larger.

I’ve stayed here many times. It’s clean, the staff are wonderful, and even a single Room is spacious enough with everything you need. Breakfast is delicious. I recently learned it’s part of the Royal Host group—no wonder the food is so good. You can also enjoy Osaka specialties, and there’s a wide variety of drinks such as tea. Thank you for the great meal. I’ll be back again.

Given the location, it may be no surprise that the fish is delicious, but the soup and side dishes were also excellent. The cooking showed outstanding taste and skill. Breakfast in particular was impressive—generous in portion size and well balanced. We stayed as a family in two Rooms. The special Room in the main building was very relaxing, with a living room overlooking the sea and a bedroom with a massage chair and a large TV. The detached annex was spacious and stylish with a modern feel, and we slept very well there. This was entirely our mistake, but thank you for kindly helping us look for our lost item. A wonderful Accommodation.

The view from the Room was wonderful, and the meals were delicious—everything was excellent. If I had to mention one thing, I would have liked a little more time to use the bath at a relaxed pace. I will visit again in a different season. Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed here with a family of five and one dog. Our check-in was a little late, but thank you for accommodating us. We were also very satisfied with the staff member’s courteous explanation at check-in. As for the meals, our whole family worked together and prepared everything smoothly, and we enjoyed it very much. That night, we ended up chatting late into the night as a family and may have had a bit too much to drink. Not only the building itself, but also the dining area, bedrooms, bath, sauna, dog run—everything exceeded our expectations and became a wonderful memory. Next time, we’d like to stay for two nights and three days and relax at a slower pace. Thank you again for everything.

This was my first time staying here. At first, I wasn’t sure about a standalone house in the mountains, but once I arrived, it far exceeded my expectations. The Room was more spacious than I imagined, the Onsen was free-flowing with a gentle quality to the water, and above all, the meals were not only delicious but also very generous. This Accommodation offers something truly special that you won’t find elsewhere. As someone who loves traveling, it’s an Accommodation I genuinely want to recommend to others from the bottom of my heart.

This is a quiet, relaxing Accommodation that feels like a hidden retreat. The bath in the Room is an Onsen, and I enjoyed it many times. All of the staff were very pleasant. The meals were teppanyaki dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, and everything was delicious. The chef’s special miso was also great, so I bought some. It seems every Room type is different, so next time I’d like to stay in a different Room.

I was amazed by the relaxed atmosphere of the Ryokan and the many delicious dishes—especially the abundance of fish—along with superb sake. The sunset and evening glow were incredibly beautiful and truly moving.

The scent of the old wooden building, the creaking wooden corridors and stairs, and the historic furnishings really conveyed the charm of this ryokan founded in the Edo period. The sound of the river flowing in front was also soothing. We were able to enjoy our meal in a private room overlooking the garden, and had a wonderful time.

I stayed here a year ago as well, under unfortunate circumstances. This time, I returned for the first anniversary memorial service. It was very reassuring that the front desk staff member was the same as last year, since I rarely stay at a Hotel alone. When I mentioned it, they said, “I’ll probably be here next year too.” The atmosphere was very welcoming and felt like being back at my family home.

We stayed during the latter half of Silver Week. The weather was great on the first day, so the views were beautiful and we were very satisfied. It really is better when the grape leaves are still on the vines! We arrived at CAVE D’OCCI before noon, completed check-in, and had lunch at a nearby café. We ordered a pasta set—just the right portion and delicious. After that, we joined a private winery tour, which ended with a wine tasting. Everything was so good that we bought 12 bottles of wine! Since there was still time before dinner, we went to an Onsen Facility about a 3-minute walk away and relaxed. Back at the Hotel, there was complimentary white wine during happy hour. From 5:30 p.m., dinner was served with wine pairing. The food was excellent, and the wines were great as well. Since only CAVE D’OCCI wines are offered, there are no full-bodied options, so preferences may vary. Breakfast was also delicious—the tomato juice is outstanding!

This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied. The hotel and the room were both very clean and comfortable. The staff were always smiling, which made me feel cheerful. The shuttle service to Kanazawa Station and the hotel’s dedicated lockers near the station were very convenient.

Unfortunately it rained, but thanks to that we were able to relax at the inn on the day we arrived. As other reviews mentioned, the staff were wonderful—every single person greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service, so we had a very comfortable stay. The next day, when the rain let up, we were able to take a walk and enjoy Dogo Onsen. Above all, the meals were outstanding! Not only was the food delicious, but the tableware was beautiful as well—both my elderly father and I finished everything. It’s a bit far from Osaka so we can’t visit often, but this is an inn we would love to return to. Please continue being such a lovely place. The staff’s hospitality is truly top-notch!

Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do. Although we visited during poor weather due to a typhoon, we had a highly satisfying stay—not only with the Facility, but also with the Onsen and the cuisine. In recent times, as service styles have been changing across many Accommodations, we felt that this Accommodation is also committed to staff development through the attentive service we received. Hygiene was exceptionally well maintained, and even someone as particular as I am could stay with peace of mind. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we will definitely choose this Accommodation.
