    Disappointing

    I was shocked when I arrived for the 3 PM check-in only to find out that the cleaning was not finished, and I couldn't enter yet. The aging of the facilities is undeniable; the safe was broken and had to be fixed twice (apparently, the battery behind the door kept coming loose), and the phone was also broken, disconnecting immediately, so I had to use the phone in the elevator hall to request repairs, which was very inconvenient. There are many newer and more functional Hotels in Sapporo, so I recommend considering other options.

    Sapporo Stays

    Conveniently located with restaurants and convenience stores nearby, the Room was a bit old but spacious and comfortable. The check-out process was very smooth.

    If you're in Sapporo, the Grand Hotel!

    Everything was great. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, I opted out of room cleaning. However, I would have appreciated it if necessary items like towels were hung on the doorknob.

    I always use it.

    You can take the JR from the airport to Sapporo Station and move to the Hotel underground, so you can rest assured even if you arrive on the last flight. The breakfast is also delicious. This time, we had Chinese food for dinner. Since we were with our elderly parents, we chose à la carte. They also gave us advice on the portions, and it was helpful to enjoy delicious food with little movement within the Hotel. We will use it again. It is also appreciated that there is bottled water in the Room.

    It was my first time using the annex.

    I stayed with my brother and his wife during a trip to Sapporo at the beginning of the year. I always use this Hotel for my Sapporo trips, but this time I chose the annex for the first time. It was a good opportunity to compare it with the East Wing and Main Building, which I have used more frequently in the past. However, during this stay, I felt that the cleaning was not thorough in some areas. It was disappointing to find dust accumulated in the cloakroom and by the bedside. Other than that, I had a very comfortable stay and once again appreciated the charm of this Hotel, including the lobby atmosphere, delicious breakfast, high level of hospitality, and the convenient location directly connected to the underground walkway. Additionally, the Galette des Rois I purchased on the way back was very delicious and I was extremely satisfied. I would like to use this Hotel again for my next trip to Sapporo. Thank you very much.

    This is my second st...

    This is my second stay. This time, I chose the special floor on the 4th floor of the main building. The service was excellent, as expected from a long-established Hotel, and I was impressed with the punctual room service. One disappointing point was that due to the age of the building, I could hear noises from the hallway and the sound of water flowing from the upper floors. The amenities were satisfactory in both quality and quantity. The location is also excellent. I look forward to a complete renovation or rebuilding in the future.

    Check-in at the long-established Hotel?

    I was not feeling well, so I canceled the Furano Ski Hotel reservation and made a reservation urgently. Upon entering the room, which was supposedly cleaned and disinfected, I found long hair, probably from a previous guest, on the back of the slippers, which was unpleasant. I complained to the front desk about why there was hair despite the room being cleaned and disinfected. I thought there was a lack of post-cleaning inspection. It was disappointing that the charm of the long-established hotel was not demonstrated.

    May the current comfort last forever.

    I stayed for one night during the New Year holidays. I chose the buffet for dinner and breakfast, and I was very satisfied with the content, taste, and service. (As a buffet lover, I have tried many, but this was truly great.) Also, there was a comfort I don't usually feel during hotel stays. I wondered why, and I thought it might be because of the good age balance of the staff (both young and experienced). I sincerely hope that this historic Hotel will remain unchanged as it is now. I will visit again.

    Birthday

    For a birthday celebration, we decided to stay at a long-established Hotel for the first time. We had a restaurant we wanted to visit, so we didn't use the dining facilities within the Hotel, but we experienced luxury in every aspect and had a special time. It became an unforgettable memory. Thank you very much.

    Established Hotel

    The rooms in the main building are well-maintained but have a distinctly Showa-era feel, for better or worse. If you prefer a more modern room, choose the East Wing. The breakfast features Hokkaido specialties like soup curry and salad ramen, with flavors that are beyond reproach. The bread, in particular, is delicious, and since they are small, you can try several kinds. There's also apple pie, making for a satisfying selection. We also received a coupon, so we bought bread and cake at the shop, and they were all reliably delicious.

    The staff is excellent.

    The staff are all very kind. The bell captain, who is now rare, handled the luggage carefully. The front desk remembered my previous stay and suggested a change in room type. I would definitely like to stay again.

    I used it for busine...

    I used it for business. It is conveniently located close to Sapporo Station and Odori Park. The Room was spacious, and I was able to relax at night. I had breakfast, and both the Japanese meal and the buffet were delicious. The buffet had a wide variety, and I would like to try different dishes next time. Over 50 years ago, it was also the honeymoon destination of my late parents, and this was my first stay. I would like to visit again with my family next time.

    The main building is somewhat retro.

    I stayed in the main building for the first time. The room's Facility had a slightly retro atmosphere, which I liked, perhaps because it has been used for a long time. The amenities were adequate, and the shampoo and other items were of good quality. I was mostly satisfied, but I was concerned about the sound of conversations and flushing from the neighboring room echoing at night. It subsided after midnight.

    As expected of a long-established Hotel

    I have been to Sapporo several times, but this was my first time at this hotel. The location is excellent, as you can go directly from Sapporo Station via an underground passage. There is also a convenience store nearby, and the hotel parking is well-equipped. Although the exterior looks old, the interior of the hotel was surprisingly clean. The front desk area is luxurious and spacious. It would have been even better if the carpet in the room could be replaced. The staff at the front desk and parking lot were all very pleasant and well-trained, which was impressive. I will change my accommodation in Sapporo to this hotel.

    The best Hotel representing Sapporo

    We used the Hotel for our wedding anniversary trip. Thanks to the email exchanges for arranging a surprise cake and message card in advance, we were able to successfully pull off the surprise. Additionally, we were kindly provided with a corner twin Room, allowing us to relax comfortably. We had breakfast at the Northern Terrace Diner, but it was a bit disappointing that there were few seafood options. Also, it would have been convenient if we could take coffee back to the Room. (Perhaps I just couldn't find a paper cup...) This is a wonderful Hotel that always provides a high-quality stay. We plan to use it again with my brother and his wife in January next year, and we are already looking forward to it.

    Room

    When I stayed in June, it was a spacious Room with two beds in the new building, which felt nice, but this time it was a single Room with a corner window that only opened halfway, resembling a Business Hotel. I wished for a better Room even if I had to pay an additional fee. The breakfast was very delicious, especially the Japanese cuisine, which was fulfilling, and I enjoyed each ingredient, which was characteristic of Hokkaido.

    Dream Hotel

    It was a hotel I had admired since my student days. Although I was traveling alone, the room was upgraded and was spacious and comfortable. Above all, the atmosphere I felt when passing through the front desk and the hospitality of the staff made me feel proud to say, "This is the hospitality of a Japanese hotel," even to people from overseas. The elevator is directly connected to the underground shopping area, so it was nice to be able to get to the station without getting wet in the rain, and I thought it was a very friendly hotel for solo travelers. By the way, I am not affiliated with the Grand Hotel (laughs).

    The staff's service is excellent.

    The drainage in the room we were shown was prone to clogging. This might be a common issue in long-established hotels. Just in case, I called the room service, and their response was quick. In addition to their courteous service, they also changed our room. A young staff member I spoke to showed me a photo of a night parfait on their phone and informed me about the current trend. When I went down to the front desk and asked if there was a recommended sushi restaurant nearby, a man who introduced himself as the room service manager, much like a concierge, even made a reservation for us. We were able to spend a wonderful time calmly and leisurely. Thank you to all the staff. I vowed in my heart to definitely stay at this hotel again next time.

    Hotel staff are stationed everywhere and provide attentive service. As expected from a long-established hotel in Hokkaido. The stay was comfortable and stress-free. I would like to visit again.

    I expected too much.

    I had read the reviews, so I had some idea of what to expect, but it seems I had set my expectations too high. I was assigned to the East Wing, and while the linens were clean, there was dust on the ceiling and walls, and I was worried it might fall due to the air conditioning. I noticed the dust on the second day, and since moving rooms seemed troublesome, I stayed as it was. The carpet cleaning was also subpar, and contrary to many comments saying it was old but well-maintained and clean, I felt that for this price, a newer hotel would be better. However, I had been curious for a long time and kept missing the opportunity, so I was glad to have the experience of staying before the rebuilding.

    I was able to stay with peace of mind at this long-established hotel.

    I booked a stay at the Grand Hotel in Sapporo without comparing it to others, as I definitely wanted to stay there. As expected from a long-established hotel, I was able to relax and enjoy my stay with peace of mind. I had both Japanese and buffet-style breakfasts. Both restaurants were satisfying in terms of quantity and quality. The Japanese set meal included drinks and desserts in a buffet style, and the fruit cake was very delicious!! At the buffet, I was able to enjoy local specialties (such as soup curry and Katsugen) and had a great time. The shop was well-stocked, offering souvenirs like sweets that are not available at New Chitose Airport, which was helpful. I would like to visit again with my family.

    It is unacceptable that no receipt is issued in response to the invoice.

    It was an unimaginable response that they couldn't issue a receipt. I am not satisfied. I will probably never use it again.

    The stability of a long-established hotel

    Due to the typhoon, my return flight was canceled, and I ended up staying for two nights unexpectedly. The room in the main building was old, but it was properly cleaned. The bathroom had the traditional type with a shower curtain. It was a triple room, but I was a bit surprised that there was no safe. (I confirmed that higher-grade rooms in the main building do have safes.) The breakfast was much cheaper compared to Tokyo, and I enjoyed a delightful breakfast with local flavors. The bread from the hotel's bakery was also delicious. The interior had a solid atmosphere with classical decor, and there were staff members everywhere, which gave me a sense of security.

    Very good stay, worth more than the price.

    I stayed in a room at the Grand Inn Grand. The comfort of the room, the bathroom facilities, and the service in the lounge were all very satisfactory this time as well. Thank you very much. If I may make a request, there is a terrace where you can view the garden, so it would be great if there were chairs there.
