    Accommodation for an Enjoyable Stay

    This was my fifth visit. Since my last stay in May, a draft beer server has been added to the lounge, and I enjoyed it again this time. As I was able to make a Reservation at a special sale price, I chose the “Local Bounty Kaiseki” dinner Plan for the first time. There was a good variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Thank you as well for accommodating my dietary dislikes as requested in advance. The late-night tantan noodles (white) were just the right portion size and were still enjoyable even after dinner. Breakfast was as satisfying as always. The desserts are bite-sized, so it’s fun to try different ones. As for the Onsen, the water temperature in the large public bath felt slightly on the hot side, but the open-air bath in my Room was perfect, and I could relax and soak at ease. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, I had another relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would love to visit again.

    Highly satisfied

    I’d been curious about this Accommodation for a while, and since I was staying with a friend, we chose the most affordable Room. But everything exceeded my expectations. There are no bottled drinks in the Room, but there are drip-bag coffee and tea. Water is self-serve on each floor. However, since it’s all-inclusive, you can bring lobby drinks back to your Room, so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. The snacks were only bite-sized wasabi rice crackers and salted candy, but considering the price, it was more than enough. I also loved that ice cream was still available the next morning. The Onsen is a “beauty bath” with pH 8—really wonderful. Towels are provided at the large public bath, and samue loungewear is also available in the Room. The meals were plenty for us, though those with bigger appetites might find them a bit light. The international trainees worked very hard and left a great impression. All of the staff were truly pleasant. Next time, I’d like to come back with my husband and stay in a guest room with an open-air bath. I’m already looking forward to it.

    We had a relaxing time.

    I had an amazing two-day stay. I’ve been using IKYU for many years, but this is my first time writing a Review!! From the moment we arrived by car, the staff warmly welcomed us and our Hotel stay started off wonderfully. The entrance view was just as I imagined—relaxing and open. Dinner was very satisfying, with all the dishes we hoped to try included. The drinks were great too; the cherry blossom sake was so delicious that I even looked for it at the souvenir shop. The entire property felt clean and quiet, and we were able to spend peaceful time with our family. On the way home, we even said we’d like to come about once a year. Since checkout was 10:00 for Reservations other than ours, I would be happy if late checkout could be available with an additional fee. That’s how much we didn’t want to leave. Thank you very much!

    I felt refreshed.

    I had a very comfortable stay. Once again, I was delighted by the warmth of all the staff. Everyone is attentive and hardworking, and your hospitality truly comes through—creating a relaxing atmosphere. Last time I was too full to try the late-night tantanmen, so this time I moved dinner earlier and adjusted my timing by singing karaoke right up until then. The tantanmen was the perfect portion and delicious. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much for your kind care.

    We enjoyed our stay with our parents.

    I stayed here for two nights with a friend, as I wanted a nearby getaway where I could bring my elderly parent. There were very few unnecessary steps in the Room and the large public bath, and depending on the Room location, the layout allows you to get around without much walking. As expected, both the restaurant and lounge were close by and easy to access, which was a huge help. Thanks to that, my usually homebound parent was happy and said, “I want to come again,” so it was well worth bringing them. Although it’s a Western-style Room, you take off your shoes at the entrance, and being able to walk barefoot inside made it especially relaxing. The water terrace is beautiful, but I assumed August would be too hot to want to go outside. However, in the evening a cool breeze made it very pleasant, and spending time outdoors enjoying drinks while taking in the view was wonderful. Dinner was excellent—especially the fish—and the staff were refreshingly attentive and left a great impression. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of options and was fun; even on the second day we didn’t get tired of it. The loungewear is comfortable and easy to relax in, but it’s slightly thick, so it may feel warm in summer. We weren’t sure how strong to set the air conditioning. Overall, it was a stay that truly made us want to return. Next time I’d like to try a Room with an in-room bath.

    A place where you can relax anytime.

    I’ve stayed here nearly 10 times. No matter when I visit, I can truly rest both body and mind, so I always feel at ease. Especially the morning yoga—being outdoors, listening to birdsong and the sound of water— was wonderfully refreshing. The meals are elegant, and all of the tableware is beautiful.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay, and my friend and I were able to take a break from housework and fully relax while enjoying the Onsen. Since it was during the summer vacation period, there were many families and international guests, but the staff were kind to us as seniors, which made our stay very comfortable. Next time, I’m thinking of coming with a group of older women. Although we weren’t blessed with good weather, the moonlit night view from the terrace was still romantic.

    It was a nice, relaxing accommodation.

    Pros - Staff were stationed at the drop-off area and kindly helped carry our luggage. This Accommodation has an unusual main entrance: there is no doorway directly in front of the entrance, and you enter the building through something like a side gate. - The food was delicious overall. However, the doneness of the meat dishes varied by person—ranging from rare to medium-well done—with quite a noticeable difference. - The Onsen water felt gentle/soft, so it was very pleasant. That said, it was disappointing that I didn’t have time to use the large public bath. - The complimentary drinks were convenient and easy to use. Cons - At first there was someone at the shop register, but while I was browsing they left and didn’t come back for quite some time. When I went to the front desk to ask to pay, I was told “Please wait a moment,” but ended up waiting quite a long time until the cashier returned. - After checkout, someone spoke to us near the exit, but there were no Hotel staff at the drop-off area. Since we were welcomed on arrival at check-in, it felt a bit lonely that no one was there when we left. Because of these points, it somehow felt like they were short-staffed. That’s all.

    The renovated Facility is clean!

    Although it has been three years since the renovation, the Facility was clean and comfortable. The Room was spacious, and the open-air bath in the Room was also clean and relaxing. The lounge offered a wide variety of items, and we appreciated that it was available for long hours.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    This was our first stay. From the moment we approached the Hotel, the sound of wind chimes felt wonderfully refreshing. As soon as we stepped inside, a water terrace spread out before us, and my daughter and I couldn’t help exclaiming, “So beautiful!” We stayed in a Premium Room. The Room was very clean, and my daughter was thrilled with the ReFa hair dryer and shower (lol). The in-Room Onsen is fed by a natural hot spring source, and it felt amazing—I ended up soaking twice, morning and night. Since it was to celebrate my birthday, you prepared a lovely towel-cake display and even gave us chocolates as a gift, which made this trip truly memorable. We chose a Plan with breakfast and dinner included; the dinner course was beautifully plated item by item, so we enjoyed it with our eyes as well. We were also very satisfied that drinks were available freely. In particular, the champagne we had upon arrival was incredibly delicious! This has become one of the Hotels we would definitely like to use again if we have the chance. Thank you for taking care of us for our one-night stay.

    Everything was No. 1!

    The Room, amenities, in-Room open-air bath, dinner and breakfast, all-you-can-drink sparkling wine and other beverages with snacks, and all-you-can-eat ice cream—both kids and adults were thrilled. Everything was absolutely satisfying; it was the number one Hotel we’ve stayed at so far. Our whole family keeps saying, “Done—we’re definitely coming back!” Above all, the staff were kind and attentive, which was truly wonderful. We’re already looking into trying Kamenoi at other locations as well!

    It was very good.

    Both the facilities and the Room were very clean. All the Room doors were barrier-free sliding doors, which I thought was great. The Room was also spacious enough, and we were satisfied. What surprised us most was how well stocked the complimentary service area was. In addition to soft drinks, there was a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, and both the lounge and terrace felt open and relaxing, so we could unwind comfortably. I wished there were more amenities provided in-room (the kind you can take), but there was a ReFa hair dryer and hair iron, which I personally appreciated. The only disappointing point was that I would have liked a more thorough explanation during dinner. When they were about to leave without explaining how to eat the wasabi rice, I asked how it should be eaten and then received an explanation. Even if instructions are written on the menu, not everyone reads it that carefully... The staff member assisting guests at the table behind us explained how to eat the wasabi rice and even offered to serve portions of the whole simmered golden eye snapper for them. Even if serving ourselves is fine, we might have ended up finishing without trying the special wasabi rice at all—so I wanted to share this feedback. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The view was great.

    This was my first stay here, and the Room and the view from the Room were great and very comfortable. The amenities were excellent, and I was glad the shower was the same type as the one I use at home. There was also a hair dryer and a hair iron, which I really appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, and I was very satisfied with the meals. However, the Onsen was a little lukewarm even after it was warmed up, and it was disappointing that the bathwater level could not be adjusted.

    Fully satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals! We were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay as a couple.

    This was my first stay, and it was a very satisfying Hotel. All the staff we interacted with—at the front desk, restaurant, and elsewhere—were courteous, and it left a strong impression that we felt comfortable throughout our stay. At dinner, the air conditioning was quite strong and it felt cold. We asked if the temperature could be adjusted, but were told it would be difficult. However, they promptly lent us a blanket, and we really appreciated that thoughtful gesture. The photogenic waterside spot at the entrance was for photos only—not a footbath (lol). I thought we could soak our feet there, so that was a bit disappointing. The large public bath had spacious changing rooms and washing areas, and the open-air bath was also roomy and comfortable. It was quiet both at night and in the morning when I used it, so I could relax and enjoy it. On the other hand, there weren’t many types of Onsen baths, so I would have been even happier with a bit more variety. My husband really liked the sauna. Dinner portions were slightly smaller than at a typical Ryokan, but they were just right for us as a couple, and we enjoyed each dish. The late-night tantan noodles were also delicious. Breakfast offered a wide selection of both Japanese- and Western-style items—especially the salted bread rolls, which were outstanding. With a great balance of service, Onsen baths, and food, this is a Hotel we’d like to stay at again when visiting Izu.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay, and we had a very comfortable time again. At dinner, we asked to have the Izu red wine chilled again, and we were happy that a waiter remembered us. From arrival at the entrance to departure, it is a wonderful Hotel.

    Recommended for guests looking to relax.

    I was able to spend a relaxing time in a quiet and calm setting. The property was clean, the room was comfortable, and I could unwind and forget about everyday life. The staff were also kind, so I felt at ease throughout my stay. As it is located on a plateau, the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by greenery left a strong impression. I think this Accommodation is perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the city noise and enjoy some quiet time. Although this was a short stay, it was very comfortable, and it’s a Hotel I would like to visit again in another season. Thank you very much.

    Relaxing Onsen getaway for couples

    Many international guests were visiting. It was memorable to see three young men relaxing together in the open-air bath, towels on their heads, gazing out at the sea. I also enjoyed unwinding while taking in the deep blue sky and ocean. You can even see the Izu Islands from the dining area. The Room is quiet, and you can wake up to the sound of Japanese bush warblers; the breakfast buffet is delicious—be careful not to overeat.

    Beautiful!

    I visited on a girls’ trip! Everything was clean and lovely! The seaside terrace was wonderful too! I wanted to relax outside at night, but I retreated indoors because I felt like I’d get bitten by mosquitoes. I wish you had better mosquito control—it’s such a waste! I chose the Premium Twin because I wanted to use the premium lounge, but the lounge itself seems open to everyone, so it didn’t feel very luxurious. I often got the impression that some guests were using it without realizing it wasn’t meant for regular guests. Please make the signage much clearer! The view is better from the regular lounge as well. Still, I was happy that Heartland bottled beer and sparkling wine were all-you-can-drink, so I might choose a premium Room again next time! The Room was also very nice, though I feel like I spent most of my time in the lounge and baths. There was a big dead bug in the open-air bath in my Room and it startled me, but that can’t really be helped. Having a ReFa hair iron also made things very comfortable! The meals were just right, but they might feel a bit light for men. I finished all of the tantanmen at night too. It looks like it’s one drink per person here. At other Kamenoi properties you can get refills, so if you think one won’t be enough, you may want to bring something with you. Overall, I want to come again!! If you don’t choose an expensive Room, this is great value Accommodation with high satisfaction!

    A Hotel you’ll want to stay at again!

    We chose this Hotel for our wedding anniversary. The stunning view from the water terrace was breathtaking and truly soothing. In the lounge, everything was thoughtfully provided, even ice cream, and we were very satisfied. When we entered our Room, we were welcomed by a towel decoration. The cleaning was thorough, and we enjoyed a comfortable stay. This time we made a Reservation with the most affordable Plan, but the hospitality from all the staff was wonderful and made it a truly memorable trip. Also, towels were prepared at the large public bath, so there was no need to bring them from the Room, which was very convenient. For breakfast, the freshly made French toast from the live kitchen was especially outstanding. There were also many dishes using local Izu specialties, with an excellent variety overall. We will definitely return again next time.

    A stay you’ll definitely want to repeat!

    Kamenoi Group has been opening new properties one after another lately, but the quality really varies. Many are rebrands of older Hotels, so the Facilities can feel dated, and meals are sometimes buffet-only… (I’m not a fan of eating while walking around, eating and drinking nonstop.) I’ve stayed at several Kamenoi Hotels before, and I’d heard great things about “Izu Kogen,” so I was really looking forward to this stay. To sum it up: it was fantastic. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the view from the window was wonderful! I could have sat on the balcony chair staring at the blue sky forever—I didn’t have enough time. All you hear is the wind and birdsong. What a luxury. The in-room open-air bath also had a bench to cool down on afterward—everything was thoughtfully arranged. You know how some “in-room open-air baths” make you think, “Seriously? This is it? I can’t even stretch my legs”? That wasn’t the case here at all. Dinner was served in a calm setting, and the staff were attentive in a way that felt genuinely pleasant. Every dish was truly delicious—maybe it’s thanks to an excellent head chef? Breakfast was also well seasoned across the board. There’s also a lounge area where you can enjoy snacks and drinks. It’s smaller than an airport or Hotel club lounge might be, but it’s very comfortable. All in all, I’d like to make my next Reservation too!

    It was very comfortable!

    I stayed for one night with a friend. The entire property was spotless, and both the Room and washroom were spacious. The large public bath was also very comfortable. From the drop-off area, check-in at the lobby, and the restaurant to staff we passed in the hallways, everyone provided polite service with warm smiles, which left a great impression. Dinner, breakfast, and the late-night tantanmen were all delicious—I ended up eating too much... The drink service at the Premium Lounge, including alcoholic beverages, was also excellent. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    This Accommodation offers a highly satisfying stay in every way.

    It was such a wonderful Hotel that I’d love to make it my go-to Accommodation. 1) I was impressed by the hot towels provided on the Shuttle Service bus. 2) Bath towels and face towels are always available in the large public bath, so you can go empty-handed. 3) The open-air bath feels very spacious, and the view is amazing. 4) There is a step at the entrance to the Room, making it comfortable to walk around barefoot inside. 5) Complimentary drinks (including alcohol) are served in the lobby. 6) The dining quality is excellent, and the service is outstanding (both dinner and breakfast). 7) The late-night tantanmen was delicious. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokan, but this Hotel was truly excellent in every respect. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    The Plan with an open-air bath was excellent.

    I stayed on a Plan with an open-air bath in the Room. The open-air bath felt private, but once I got in, voices from the neighboring guest’s living room echoed, so it wasn’t very relaxing. The large public bath was also very spacious and nice. When I contacted the front desk because a guest had brought a smartphone into the public bath and was taking photos, staff came quickly and warned them. Thank you.

    Outstanding hospitality!

    From the welcome at the entrance to being shown to our Room, the staff were very attentive, and we had a comfortable stay. The lounge also offered a wide variety of drinks and snacks, which we enjoyed both before and after meals. This is an Accommodation we would like to visit again.

    Be soothed by the great outdoors.

    The views are stunning, and being surrounded by nature is truly relaxing. The calls of Japanese bush warblers and cuckoos add a wonderful sense of atmosphere. Most of the meals are made with locally sourced ingredients, and they were very filling. Highly recommended.

    It exceeded my expectations!

    I chose to stay here because the Reviews were excellent. Since I was traveling by train, I used the Shuttle Service from Izu-Kogen Station. The driver kindly offered an oshibori as we boarded, which really impressed me, and then took us safely to the Hotel. The view from the entrance was exactly as everyone said in their Reviews. In the lounge, there was beer and other alcohol, freshly ground coffee made from beans, and a variety of tea leaves. Before heading to my Room, I relaxed in a comfortable chair on the water terrace with a drink and fully enjoyed the resort atmosphere. After dinner, it was quiet under a starry sky, and I enjoyed a beer while listening to the sound of water. The large public bath was very comfortable: the lighting in the changing area was slightly dim in a pleasant way, plenty of towels were provided, everything was clean throughout, and both the water temperature and tub depth were just right. In particular, at “Manten-no-Yu,” when water flowed into the cold bath next to the sauna, it made a suikinkutsu-like sound. Even in the indoor bath you could see greenery through large windows—relaxing for your eyes and ears as well as your body. Of course, the open-air bath also felt wonderful; I soaked at ease while listening to Japanese bush warblers. Dinner (MEGUMI Plan) was delicious. The vegetables on the side looked beautiful with great color and texture, served warm and in excellent condition—you could feel their attention to detail. The late-night ramen was also truly delicious just as rumored. Breakfast featured many local items; both quality and variety were excellent. You could really sense their desire for guests to eat well—I wanted so many things but couldn’t finish everything (unfortunately). Even the cutlery for French toast had an elegant design—slightly heavy but easy to use. Every dish at both dinner and breakfast tasted great, and even staff members from overseas were friendly with warm smiles. The souvenir shop inside the Hotel seemed to offer not only recommended local staples but also carefully selected items that aren’t simply identical to what other shops carry. I also appreciated being able to use both washing machines and dryers free of charge—it would make a Multiple Night Stay much easier with less luggage. Because it was a weekday stay it may have been less crowded than usual, but this truly felt like an outstanding Hotel filled with heartfelt hospitality. Thank you very much for taking care of me—I will definitely return.

    Satisfied.

    We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with seven people. We were very satisfied with both the Room and the Onsen. If I had to mention anything, it was a bit disappointing that there was nowhere to hang towels and that there was no shaving foam for men. My husband prefers a dry sauna to a mist sauna, so he didn’t use it at night because it was the mist one. In the morning it switches and you can use the mist one, but since we don’t usually use the sauna in the morning, he felt a little disappointed (just our personal opinion). The service was excellent—they even provided a shower chair for my mother, who has difficulty walking, for the in-room bath. It would have been even better if there had been grab bars as well. We would like to visit again.

    Great value for money

    I’m in the same industry. I came for a brief break to celebrate. From the smooth check-in to the complimentary drinks with no pressure, everything was comfortable. Enjoying a drink outside the lobby while feeling the breeze was especially nice. I didn’t look closely when making my Reservation, so I ended up with a barrier-free Room (laugh). It wasn’t large, but there was plenty of space, and it was very clean. I especially loved the breakfast buffet!! One thing I’d like improved: in the morning, there was quite a bit of hair floating in the large public bath. I know it’s difficult when you’re busy and pressed for time... At checkout, when I asked to pay separately and was told “We can’t because it’s an invoice,” I wasn’t sure about that—but overall it’s an Accommodation I’d like to return to with an upgraded plan. Thank you again next time!

    Mother-in-law’s Birthday Celebration

    What made me happiest was hearing my mother-in-law say, “More than anything, I’m happy.” It was her 86th birthday. The words we had hoped to hear came out naturally, and we were happy too. The greenery, the blue sea, and Izu Oshima visible from the bath in our Room were simply amazing. The coffee and tea provided in the Room were also delicious, and in the morning we enjoyed grinding beans with the mill in the lounge. Thank you for such a relaxing time. We had an early dinner time slot, but we also enjoyed the tantanmen at night. The sparkling wine in the lounge was incredibly good and made us very happy. We truly appreciate all of these small moments of happiness, thanks to all of your staff.
