It was a groundbreaking event where the culture of a Western-style Hotel was incorporated into a traditional Japanese-style Ryokan for the first time. Furthermore, this encounter became the prologue to the development of Kanbayashi Onsen and Shiga Kogen, now renowned as one of Japan's leading international resorts.

The hotel, located at the foot of Shiga Kogen, is convenient as a base for sightseeing to Zenkoji, Obuse, and Matsushiro.
