Although we arrived in rainy weather, we were warmly welcomed by many staff members, making for a wonderful start that almost felt more than we deserved. The building, designated as a Tangible Cultural Property, has a rich sense of history, yet it is meticulously maintained throughout, allowing us to relax in complete comfort. In addition to the pleasantly warm and soothing Onsen, the cuisine was truly outstanding. On departure, they even took a complimentary commemorative photo and later sent it to our home—such a thoughtful gesture that made this an unforgettable memory. Everything was exceptional, including the hospitality, and this is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding and truly exciting. I was especially amazed by the wide variety of breads at breakfast. Everything was delicious, but I regret that I couldn’t try them all. We also enjoyed drinks and sweets in the lovely lounge, and the staff’s attentive service made our stay very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

This was my second stay, about two years since the last time. On my previous visit, everything left a lasting impression—the quality of the Onsen water, the hospitality, and the food—so this time I returned for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights. Over the past two years I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans for both work and personal trips, but coming back here reminded me once again what makes this place so special. Although I arrived much later than planned, a staff member greeted me at the entrance to the parking area in light rain. It was already dark and hard to see the entrance clearly, so I truly appreciated that thoughtful attention to detail. My Room was the same as last time, with a direct view of Mt. Fuji. The spacious layout, spotless cleanliness, and the ability to enjoy an Onsen bath and sauna in the Room were all outstanding. On day two I spent the entire day working online from my Room. After finishing work and relaxing in the Onsen and sauna, I didn’t feel like going out, so late in the afternoon I decided on short notice to request dinner at the Hotel. I have a beef allergy and have also been avoiding heavy dishes recently, so I made several difficult requests—but they accommodated them graciously. And that meal was truly exceptional. Though French cuisine, it was light yet satisfying—clean flavors with a gentle touch. Each dish was carefully prepared; everything was surprisingly delicious, and I enjoyed it comfortably through to the end. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans over the years, but this visit reminded me that true quality shows itself not only in luxury but in attentive care for each individual guest. The staff’s natural and pleasant service, wonderful food, and a quiet space where you can truly unwind made for an immensely fulfilling stay. My work progressed smoothly as well—I felt refreshed both physically and mentally. I will definitely return again soon. Thank you very much.

From the Shuttle Service from the parking lot to the attentive hospitality, meals, and everything in between, everything was perfect and made for a truly comfortable stay. While many places in recent years have reduced staff and their service feels lacking, this long-established Ryokan showed us the true essence of thoughtful hospitality—anticipating every need. As long as I am able, I would love to return again on my next opportunity.

First of all, the meals were outstanding. I’ve had enohara fish before, but this was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted! They paid close attention to how we were doing during the meal, and the timing of each next dish was perfect. Everyone on the staff greeted us with smiles throughout our stay, which made us feel very comfortable. Thank you very much. We’d love to visit again in a different season.

We’re repeat guests for the cats, delicious food, and the cozy comfort of having everything you need right in the Room. This time my husband came with us too. The kids were thrilled with the maisonette and the open-air bath. We also love the skincare amenities such as lotion—they’re from a brand we like. We were so happy to finally spend time with the cats again. Since this was our first summer stay, we were told, “You might find stag beetles on the balcony,” and there were so many (surprisingly)! We took some home and are taking good care of them. Thank you for all your thoughtful consideration. Dinner was served at perfect timing—hot dishes hot and cold dishes cold—and my husband really enjoyed how delicious everything was. For breakfast we chose Japanese this time; the clay-pot rice selected by a rice meister was outstanding. Our child asked for seconds again and again. Everything was perfect except that the children’s pajamas we borrowed felt smaller than expected for their size. Thank you as always for your warm welcome—it made for an amazing start to our summer vacation. We’d love to come back again.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. I had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay in a quiet setting. The meals were delicious, and the nightly mini concerts in the lobby were truly relaxing. As I was traveling solo, it wasn’t cheap, but the Facility and the quality of the cuisine more than justified it. If I had to mention one thing, the toilet paper in the Room was thin and a bit inconvenient to use. It was a wonderful and comfortable Hotel that will likely make me want to return again in summer.

The meals, hospitality, Room, views, and bath—everything made for a wonderful stay. I have never had rice this delicious before. The tea was also excellent, and the grilled dried horse mackerel at breakfast was outstanding. In any case, I’m adding this Accommodation to my top five places I want to stay again. This was a return visit. I stayed here to visit my family’s grave and Koryu Shrine. The warm hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff was truly pleasant. The meals were delicious both to the eye and the palate. Breakfast included a partial buffet, and everything was always kept beautifully arranged. The bath and changing area were consistently clean and well maintained, which impressed me with how attentive the staff are. This is an Accommodation that makes you want to stay again!

We stayed at “Iroukan” during the Obon holidays. Since we were traveling with our dog, we chose Iroukan based on Reviews while searching for a pet-friendly Accommodation. The hospitality exceeded our expectations—the warmth and smiles from every staff member were truly wonderful. Of course, the food was just as highly rated: incredibly delicious and very generous in portion size. From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation’s parking lot, the staff’s kindness and attentiveness stood out—helping with our luggage, welcoming us at the entrance, and even greeting us with a charmingly retro Showa-era style that surprised us in the best way. Everyone clearly loves dogs, and our dog also seemed completely at ease throughout our three-day stay. The Onsen was also fantastic, with free-flowing natural hot spring water and both indoor and open-air baths to enjoy. It’s hard to sum up in just a few words how memorable the service was—and even the head chef’s unique personality gave us a good laugh. The building has an old-fashioned feel that reflects its history, but it’s exactly what you’d hope for in a classic Ryokan—an excellent place where you can truly relax. There is so much more I’d love to share, but if you’re going to Izu, please stay at Iroukan at least once. It’s absolutely worth experiencing. If we have another chance, this is definitely an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

I stayed in a newly renovated Room, and it was wonderful. The in-room perks were excellent. In particular, the all-you-can-eat gelato was an incredibly generous service—perfect after the Onsen—and I enjoyed trying many different flavors. Everything was delicious. The pre-dinner aperitif can be chosen from the menu, and the lounge coffee machine is truly high-quality, so I used it many times. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were very satisfying, and what impressed me most was the staff. There were many young team members, but everyone’s hospitality was outstanding. Some staff members spent a long time chatting with elderly guests because they were approached for conversation, yet they responded without showing any displeasure at all—I was genuinely impressed. You can also enjoy two different types of Onsen water, and I think this Accommodation offers excellent value for money. I will definitely return again. Thank you for the wonderful service—it made our stay truly exceptional. First, I accidentally made a Reservation with the wrong gender, but you quickly brought us yukata in different sizes, which was very helpful. With fewer guests staying, the attentive, personalized service really stood out. We also enjoyed the complimentary pudding—it was delicious. The Onsen was available at night as well, so we could relax and take our time. The bed felt a bit firm and slightly uncomfortable to sleep on, but other than that we had no complaints at all. Also, it was pouring rain at checkout, and you kindly handed us towels—this helped us so much. We truly appreciated your thoughtful attention to detail. We would love to stay here again when we visit Kusatsu.

The meals were absolutely delicious. They had a strong local character, and the beautifully presented dishes made the most of the ingredients—we were very satisfied. The open-air bath in the Room was spacious with wonderful water, and the Room was clean and relaxing. Since we stayed on a day with bad weather and couldn’t see a sky full of stars, this is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. There were four private Onsen baths, and each one was very clean and a pleasure to use—it really helped me unwind. I usually manage about three visits, but I wanted to try all four, so I pushed myself. The meals were truly delicious. They were mainly Japanese-style, with some Western-style dishes in between, so I enjoyed a great variety. The fish had absolutely no odor and was so fresh that I felt I had never tasted anything like it before—what a surprise. Dinner and breakfast rice and miso soup were also excellent, which I really appreciated. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

I loved the exceptionally quiet scenery. The service was also very attentive. Everything was spotless, and the scent of the tatami was soothing. The flowers on display were beautifully arranged, and I was impressed by the furnishings as well. The food was as delicious as its reputation suggests. The bath amenities were excellent too—ReFa showerheads and hair dryers, and POLA products. It would be perfect if the bath were an Onsen. Every detail felt pleasant, making this a truly wonderful trip. It’s an Accommodation I’d recommend to others and would love to stay at again.

After the renovation, the Room was very clean and beautiful. The food was delicious, and the upgraded course had generous portions, so we were very satisfied. The rice from Fukui Prefecture is excellent. I usually eat only about half a bowl at breakfast, but I had a second serving. It was new-season rice and truly delicious. The lobby felt a bit warm. I also soaked in the bath for a long time and couldn’t stop sweating, and when heading back to the Room you have to pass through the lobby, which felt a little hot. It was very quiet and relaxing. With only a small number of Rooms, we were able to enjoy the Facility without much contact with other guests. As for the baths, we were able to take our time and enjoy all of them—the private open-air bath, the in-room open-air bath, and the in-room indoor bath. We’d also like to try the stone sauna next time. There were hours when we could use the lounge for beer, alcohol, coffee, and more. Although we couldn’t make it for cocktail time, we still made good use of it. It would be even better if the lounge stayed open a little later. Every dish had a gentle flavor and there was an impressive variety; everything was delicious and beautifully presented, so we enjoyed it with our eyes as well. Being able to choose three desserts ourselves was also great. Because we could dine at a relaxed pace, the portions felt just right and everything was very tasty. The Room was so clean that it didn’t feel like 15 years had passed at all, and we stayed very comfortably. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the wash area was a bit small. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as having separate towels prepared for the open-air bath and the indoor bath. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.
