The Japanese dinner was very delicious. Breakfast was just right. If I had to be picky, it would have been even better if rice porridge had been an option for breakfast. That said, the staff were professional and made our stay very comfortable. The Room was clean and tidy, and having a massage chair was a nice touch. The bathroom in the Room also had a drying function, which was very helpful. There were also a large public bath, a sauna, and private family baths. The large public bath is available even late at night, which worked well for us—we could bathe after sobering up around midnight. We would like to stay again.

This is my favorite Accommodation: the well-maintained interior always helps me feel refreshed both body and mind in the Room’s open-air bath, and I can enjoy a French course dinner in casual attire. I will definitely stay again.

Both dinner and breakfast are lavish, spectacular meals. You can enjoy outstanding dishes that feel like the very best from all over Japan. We recommend arriving at the Accommodation very hungry. It was a shame I was so full that I could hardly eat the late-night rice balls.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding and truly exciting. I was especially amazed by the wide variety of breads at breakfast. Everything was delicious, but I regret that I couldn’t try them all. We also enjoyed drinks and sweets in the lovely lounge, and the staff’s attentive service made our stay very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

As we had never stayed in Atami before, we chose this Hotel for our 40th wedding anniversary trip. When I mentioned it to the staff at check-in, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert plate at dinner. It was beautifully done, and we truly appreciated the care they put into it for us. We chose a Room with an open-air bath. We were able to relax and soak while enjoying the view. The large public bath was also very pleasant. The meals were a delight for both the eyes and the palate. We were told the menu had just changed to the autumn selection, and in particular, the tilefish scale-grilled dish was outstanding. At breakfast the next morning, I noticed that the flowers in the vase on our table were different from those at dinner; when I asked a staff member, they said they change them between night and morning. I was impressed by such thoughtful attention to detail. Breakfast was also served as a course meal, and it was fun being able to choose between an egg dish or curry. The butter served with the bread was white in color with a rich flavor—absolutely delicious. Overall, every staff member provided courteous service and had wonderful smiles. Their attentive yet unobtrusive approach felt just right. As someone who lives a busy day-to-day life, thank you for giving me such an extraordinary escape—it became a truly memorable trip thanks to you all. We would love to visit again soon.

A relaxing, tranquil Accommodation for adults. Watch the ever-changing sky, sea, and forest, and the sparkling stars; soak in the Onsen whenever you like; and enjoy high-quality meals... Above all, the staff’s hospitality is outstanding. During my stay, they never once asked for my name or Room number, and they even adjusted the end time of dinner to fit my spa Reservation. Thanks to their seamless communication and thoughtful care, I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. I will be back again. Thank you very much.

Everything about the Accommodation—the Room, the meals, and the staff—was excellent and very satisfying. In particular, I was soothed by the soft, gentle waters of Sujiyu Onsen. The bath in the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and take my time.

Despite making a last-minute Reservation the day before, we received heartfelt hospitality and thoughtful attention, and were able to relax and truly unwind. Not only were the Room and meals wonderful, but the Onsen was exceptional as well, helping us forget our everyday fatigue and feel refreshed in both body and mind. Throughout our stay, we could feel the Ryokan team’s spirit of hospitality in every detail, which made us very happy. Thanks to you, it became a memorable and wonderful trip. During my Kyushu trip in mid-June, I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights) in the “Chikurintei—Panoramic Open-Air Bath (Japanese-Western Room)” nestled within Mifuneyama Rakuen’s vast grounds. I stayed in the “Yamazakura” Room, which offered views of Mt. Mifune from the corridor and garden, and even had a private gate with direct access to Mifuneyama Rakuen. The open-air bath is a standing-style bath set among trees. It creates a unique floating sensation, and because the water pressure is applied evenly over the whole body, I felt less fatigue afterward. Being able to enjoy the garden and sky while standing also adds to the wonderful sense of openness. The Onsen water is clear and colorless—an alkaline simple spring—with an exceptionally gentle feel on the skin, so I never tired of soaking. The indoor bath is heated groundwater, but I also enjoyed it: the hinoki tub was very comfortable, and it didn’t take long to fill. What stood out most was the outstanding quality of dinner. The kaiseki course featuring seasonal local ingredients such as Takezaki crab immediately draws you in with its dashi—clear yet deeply flavorful, beautifully balanced. Each dish reflected the season in both taste and presentation: refined and truly beautiful. Beyond ingredient quality alone, there was a confident simplicity backed by real skill. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, every meal was flawless at an exceptional level. Simply superb—thank you for such a feast. Another highlight was visiting teamLab’s art installations at the affiliated Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel on the same grounds (guests of Chikurintei can enter free). From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re struck by countless lamps evoking forest flowers and sunlight filtering through trees. The most breathtaking work was “Megalis in Ruins Bathhouse,” where digital projections of seasonal flowers illuminate massive stones rising throughout an abandoned public-bath space. When we visited, different scenes cycled continuously—twelve distinct visuals representing all months—and we became fully immersed for about an hour until they completed one full round late at night before closing. Also worth mentioning: the cold-brew coffee served in the lounge area was delicious—I refilled it many times and enjoyed it back in my Room as well. To everyone at “Oyado Chikurintei,” thank you sincerely for creating such a wonderful stay. I will absolutely return when I visit Takeo Onsen again.

We arrived after climbing the slope of Mt. Daisen for a while in light rain and mist. Seeing the word “Church,” we hesitated for a moment, but when we opened the wooden lobby door, we found a charming space unified in an antique style—like stepping into a Kenji Miyazawa story. You can truly feel how much the owner couple and staff value and care for their guests. Once shown to our room, the fog gradually lifted, revealing beautiful views of Yonago’s cityscape in the distance, along with the Sea of Japan and Lake Nakaumi. The open-air bath on the terrace was pure luxury, soaking while taking in the spectacular scenery. Dinner was exceptional both in presentation and taste. We also enjoyed chatting with the dining staff, and the timing of each course was perfect. In this quiet natural setting, we spent blissful time that felt well beyond its price. A highly recommended Accommodation.

Just as other Reviews mentioned, the view was simply amazing. We stayed with our dog, and we really appreciated that they had pee pads, etiquette bags for walks, food and water bowls, and even dinner for our dog ready for us. It was the first time I’ve ever felt this refreshed at an Accommodation. We’ll definitely stay again!

This was our second stay, and we visited as a family of five—my mother, my wife, and our two children. The service, meals, Onsen, and thoughtful attention to detail were all outstanding, and every member of our family was completely satisfied with the stay. Above all, seeing how happy my mother was made me especially glad we chose this Accommodation. Thank you very much for accommodating my daughter’s allergies and picky eating. At her earnest request, this was our first mother-and-daughter trip to Hanamaki to experience the world of Kenji Miyazawa. I’m always concerned about her meals when we travel, but thanks to you we were able to relax and enjoy our stay with peace of mind. It is a wonderful Ryokan—so much so that 24 hours in a day didn’t feel like enough. Next time, we would love to visit again with my husband and our other daughter—the whole family. This visit back to the Accommodation was a firm promise we made with M-chan and N-chan’s family, whom we met here two years ago in August. That day, we played together at the dog run, shared dinner, and spent bar time talking about many things—it was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter during our stay. I still remember how incredibly fun it was. At the time, our M was still an only dog, but meeting M-chan and N-chan—who became friends with us—created an irreplaceable and wonderful bond. We were also truly happy to become friends with their dad and mom as well. At checkout, we made a strong promise: “Let’s all meet again here at this Accommodation someday, healthy and well!” But soon after that, we were shocked to receive the sudden news of M-chan’s passing. Her mom told us that she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in March. We were heartbroken that we could no longer reunite with everyone in good health as we had promised. Still, because this Accommodation was a place M-chan loved so very much, we wanted to honor her here—and so all of us were able to meet again. Together—with their dad and mom; M-chan and N-chan; our MM sisters; and us—we came back to the Accommodation saying “We’re home!” The staff welcomed us warmly with gentle smiles saying “Welcome back,” and M-chan and N-chan—and our MM sisters—were absolutely delighted. For dinner, they seated us next to each other, and it became a joyful dinner time as we talked together while remembering M-chan. At bar time as well, we shared many memories with their dad and mom and talked about what lies ahead; it was a warm, gentle time that passed slowly. We also had breakfast together afterward, then played at the dog run right up until the last minute—sharing truly priceless moments. We believe none of this would have been possible without the kindness and support of all the staff. We are filled with gratitude for watching over our stay until the very end with such warmth. This Accommodation truly brings people together! And it is a one-of-a-kind place—wonderful, beautiful, something you can be proud of—that helps fulfill promises made between beloved dogs! We were welcomed with the staff’s bright smiles at check-in. The Room was spacious and clean. As always, no matter where we met them, the staff greeted us with a smile, and the team at the dinner venue did as well. Their smiles are truly warm hospitality.

This was my first stay here. Above all, the Onsen were outstanding. I was able to enjoy a variety of baths— a clear, colorless iron-rich spring in the Room, a thick mixed sulfur and carbonated spring, and a gentle sulfur spring— and I was completely satisfied. The traditional Japanese meals made with mountain ingredients were also very delicious and easy on the stomach. I’m also grateful for the warm hospitality and smiles from all the staff. I stayed here for one night during a 3-night, 4-day trip. The buffet was tastier than at the other Accommodations I stayed at, and the portion size was just right. For guests arriving by motorcycle, posting on social media came with a complimentary drink service. The Facility feels a bit dated, but I recommend it for touring.

The service is also very polite, with no issues.\nWe stayed with children, and it was a great help that they proactively offered to provide a baby crib and bouncer.\nI’m glad we found such a wonderful Accommodation for the first time in a while.
